Lovely little place with probably the best lunch value in the city for just $10 bucks you get an app and main. Food was great, well portioned and flavorful. Green curry had some kick to it and the Pad Thai had a fair amount of tofu. Place is tiny so only a few tables but attentive service nonetheless. Worth a visit if you’re in the neighborhood.

Pretty good for the price! Cozy interior - bonus points for the plant decor. The pad Thai with mixed vegetables and chicken dumplings was great. Also ordered the green salad but it had too much peanut sauce.

Food was pretty good for the price. I found the Massaman Curry too sweet and spicier than advertised. I could not finish it. The steamed chicken dumplings were pretty good. My friend had the minced pork dish and she enjoyed it.

I have been going here for years and gave these people a lot of my money! The portions of food they give you because “ they can’t afford “ is ridiculous! Especially with the mango sticky rice they will literally give you one tiny spoon of rice and not even half a mango ! & it’s expensive to be receiving such small portions! The chef literally told me she reduced the amount she gives because she can’t afford to give a whole mango and she has to pay for the plastic container She puts it in. That is not my problem. I will never be returning here it just always feels like they stealing my money! & they have roaches ! BYE ! They lost a good customer ✌🏾✌🏾✌🏾

Friendly staff! Ordered Vegan Pad Thai with Tofu and Thai Iced Tea for a takeout order. Generous portions but food taste was not up to the mark. Bland food! They did customize the noodles to make it vegan friendly!

Joined a friend here for the lunch special and was glad I did! It's a small place with less than 20 seats, but it's cheery. The food was tasty and the service was attentive. I believe that they may not have a restroom - I didn't see where there was one. Definitely recommend this little Thai...

The food is amazing. This is the 2nd time I’ve ordered from this location. The food so far is always on time and still hot; didn’t even have to wait long either. The selection of dishes is good and their prices are great for the area they are in. This dish is Thai fried rice! I highly recommend it. Ohh and it wasn’t spicy either, so if you want spicy just ask them.

Cute little restaurant to stop in for a meal but the real value is when you get takeout! The takeout portions are great! Prices here are super reasonable for the area and Manhattan which makes the takeout option even better. I initially got food delivered from here. The pad thai was SO GOOD that i started looking at this place fondly whenever i passed by. Something about the way they made the chicken man. The portion was so big i was able to have it for two meals. Eventually i stopped in to have the pad thai in person. Portion was decent. I finished the order in one sitting. The chicken didnt taste the same this time but it was still good. I also got the taro custard with sticky rice. It was okay. I expected it to be more fluffy/jiggly than it was. Flavor was alright, not super strong on the taro but it was still there. The sticky rice wasn't as sticky as I'm used to. I finished both orders and was so full when i left. Food verdict: 5/5 pad thai 2/5 taro custard 4/5 thai milk tea I ordered a Thai milk tea to go. I had it the next day and it was good, just a little too sweet. Service was great. The man at the front of the restaurant was really nice, smiled at me everytime i looked at him. While i was dining multiple people came in to pick up deliveries. No one else dined in while i was there. The restaurant is small with a few tables but lots of plants around with hand drawn special menus on the wall. It feels clean and cozy. I would come back but will probably do their lunch special for delivery as my next order.

This place doesn't look like much from the outside, but I'm so happy to have found this place! It's a small authentic hole in the wall Thai restaurant with great prices and great food. I've been playing Pickleball everyday at Central Park and I love how close it is to the courts. This place is super affordable and have big portion sizes. Would highly recommend dropping by especially for their lunch special. The restaurant is a bit small, only fitting around 8 people, but definitely worth a visit.

One of my first Thai spots in the city .Its. Always on point & fresh ,delicious appetizers and great entrees dishes once a week we have and no complaints here . I definitely recommend this hole in the wall, the chef makes amazing dishes .

I'm giving a 4 star simply based on the inconsistency of what is most likely the most popular dish: Pad Thai. I've ordered from them consistently over the last year. And every single time-one item is missing from the pad Thai lol. It's still good and the curry puffs NEVER fail. But to miss the eggs, peanuts or tofu from pad Thai is just egregious and for that they lose a star. Other than that, prices are good, food is great.

I don't often write Yelp reviews, but having just finished the food that Raenu Thai delivered this evening, I resolved to sit right down to register my (and my family's) unanimous dismay at what were served up. Here are the particulars in order of egregiousness: a so-called "duck roll" consisting of a bunch of iceberg lettuce, a couple of small pieces of cucumber, and about two 1/4" cubes of duck per each half (my daughter and I counted them and laughed). At $9.00, a cynical rip-off. We ordered the green curry with "mixed seafood." What we got is a quart container of a reasonably tasty, though soupy curry with about 3 pieces of shrimp, a couple of pieces of fish cake, a few morsels of mussels and several chunks of pineapple - at $17 ... huh? Likewise, the drunken noodles were a giant lump of of oily flat noodles with barely a solid piece of vegetable in sight, save some carrot slivers and a half dozen short pieces of green beans - ridiculous. With all of the sources for Asian food in the UWS/Manhattan Valley area, from which we have gotten consistently good-excellent orders, this one from Raenu Thai will be absolutely our first and last.

Today June 1st 1:40 . The food was great. The service from the young man was horrible. Yesterday Wednesday I came and there was an older man who was so pleasant. I have to make sure I don't come on Thursday if this young man is the one taking my order. I said can I have duck curry lunch special? He said green sauce , red sauce , yellow sauce? I'm like ooh what the difference. He said you going to have to look at the menu... what a response. He was not even busy. Never again

I loved the pad thai and the drunken noodles here! The pad thai had a great flavor and a great balance of bean sprouts, peanuts, noodles, and chicken. The drunken noodles had plenty of fresh veggies which balanced out the dish really well

Ordered a Pad Thai with Chicken for dinner. It was super bad and tasteless. It looks sad. Won't order from this place again.

I love Thai food and was really hoping this place was good. I ordered the basil chicken and the drunken noodle. Both lacked Thai flavor. Seemed like all the seasoning that was put into. It was a bit of Thai spices and a lot of salt. Elect flavor and it was just way too salty. The delivery was fast, and everything was nicely packaged. But I do not recommend.

Inflation, my booty! Throughout the pandemic and now throughout the economic panic, they have not raised their prices on anything-not once! Consistantly great tasting fresh food, wonderful portions, and decent prices. Staff is very kind and helpful, explaining and recommending dishes. Try anything duck or pork! Seating is intimate as you are surrounded by plants. Love this hole in the wall place!

I came into this restaurant to eat in rather than order delivery. The space is rather small, but it seems like everyone get orders food here is mainly getting delivery. Regardless, this may be one of the best Thai restaurants you can order from the UWS. My girlfriend and I got a few items: Chicken Curry Puff - Delicious and the size of the puffs are very generous. Tom Kha Soup - Very interesting flavoring. It's not really spicy as advertised, but would recommend if you like that sweet coconut taste. Pad Thai - My girlfriend got this dish and I ended up liking her dish over what I ordered. Love the noodles and the peanuts when you mix it all together. She got her's with Tofu. Drunken Noodles with Flat Noodles - This is what I ordered. It's not very spicy, but the hint of spice is there. The sauce goes very well with the noodles. I got mine with Chicken.

I started ordering from Raenu once the pandemic started, and my entire experience with the restaurant has been through delivery. That said, we have eaten at Raenu at least a dozen times, and have never had a bad meal there. The meals have been affordable, delicious, and have kept us going back for more. Cheap and cheerful! Some suggestions: - Fried calamari. I don't expect much from any place that has fried calamari, especially when it's delivered, but Raenu's managed to be fried just right and still crispy when it arrived. - Panko fried shrimp. Like the fried calamari, this was fried to perfection and was still crispy when it arrived. Can't go wrong. - Thai lemon chicken. They fried it perfectly, can you spot the trend yet? Huge, for an appetizer, and still juicy on the inside. Really solid order when you want a bunch of fried chicken with your meal. - Crab fried rice. Yes, always yes. You get a heaping portion of fried rice, and some REAL crab meat spread out on top. We have taken to ordering an extra crab fried rice so we can have it for meals on other days. - Pad see ew. So tasty, so greasy, so good. The noodles are always done just right, and the flavours are on point. Frankly, you can't go wrong with any of the rice dishes. Hell, I order one and split it into two meals, and I have a voracious appetite. 100% recommended.

Ordered via seamless tonight based on good reviews. My TOFU entree arrived with a huge chunk of greasy chicken hidden inside. I have been a vegetarian for 10+ years and was furious. Ruined not only my entree but my entire meal and my partner's too. The restaurant refused to refund my entree unless I went back to the restaurant with it!!! Unbelievable. My food wasn't even good. Pad Thai was bland and not enough sauce. Huge portions but not worth saving the leftovers.

When I saw the name I knew this was the place I was eyeing every time I walked up Amsterdam so I thought I'd give it a try. AGAIN, this review is based on delivery Delivery time: ~30min -I received my food earlier than expected and it came hot and fresh! 1) Kra Prow Gai (5/5) -When they said spicy, they mean spicy! That's what I'm talking about....Not many places live up to my spice expectations, but this place definitely caught me by surprise -Came with an egg and rice -Very flavorful, slightly salty, which is ok, because mixed with the rice gives it a perfect blend. -The basil and lime gives it an extra kick and smell that I love 2) Pad Se Ewe Noodle - Beef (4/5) -Can't ever go wrong with this dish -They made it exactly now I like it sweet and flavorful -Lots of meat! -It isn't anything special or made any different than other places, but definitely hits the spot and one of the top places I've had for this dish Overall: this may be my new go to place for Thai food in the upper west side whenever I want delivery. I can't wait to experience dinning in.

Meh. Maybe we ordered the wrong thing? Got takeout - green curry chicken and spicy basil fried rice and both were very mediocre. The fried rice was absolutely tasteless. Also got some chicken dumpling appetizers, which were kind of unappetizing, to be honest. A little disappointing considering the rave reviews.

I loved this place! The staff was super friendly, our waitress informed us they were having a free Thai iced tea deal which turned out to be a surprisingly large portion and beyond tasty! The portion was also large and the food was very tasty (we got drunken noodles and Panama curry with tofu). They also have a nice ambiance with the space they had. Overall definitely recommend it!

I stopped in for lunch . Raenu is small and unpretentious . I had the Thai basil chicken with a gyoza appetizer. The food was very good and the value was outstanding. The service was just fine.I shall definitely be coming back.

I ordered takeout via Uber eats food arrived well packed and tasted great. I got chicken gyoza, pork chop, and mango stick rice. Food was pretty warm when it arrived and all tasted great. Pork chop was well seasoned and fried and for some reason this is my first time trying mango sticky rice. It was greatt!! May have found a new desert!

First time trying Raenu I did a simple lunch order of Wonton Soup, Thai Scotch Egg and the Thai Sausage Fried Rice with shrimp and I gotta say I was blown away. The food felt familiar but with new and fantastic flavors in every dish. Fried rice had that umami luster from the sausage cut with hits of ginger. That scotch egg... goddamn. The yolk was warm and runny and the texture of the meat was perfectly chewy and crispy. I'm gonna be thinking about it for days. Wonton Soup was so damn good it might be my go-to over the Chinese version we usually get. Silky broth with flecks of garlic floating amongst the wonton and vegetables. Phenomenal for winter.

I've only ordered delivery from Raenu twice during my trip to NYC as I was not up for going out due to a nasty cold. That said, I cannot comment on the restaurant experience but didn't have any complaints regarding delivery. I have ordered the crab fried rice, Masaman curry lunch special (with tofu), shrimp Tom yum soup and milk bubble tea. Both times I have received a free Thai iced tea. My only complaint with the food is that they put one piece of shrimp in the soup. Seriously? Otherwise the food is delicious and satisfying. I recommended it to my friend who lives in the upper east side.

What a hidden gem this place is! I've ordered from here twice and have not been disappointed! They have a robust selection of your typical Thai food that is delicious, but also some Thai specials that just completely blew me away. I am a big fan of pad gra prow but many typical Thai restaurants give the meat in slices, which is great. However, Raenu has the option for selected a minced meat option that is just heaven. Completely reminiscent of the flavors I had while on vacation in Thailand. Wonderful place with wonderful food, don't miss out!

Delivery was quick, and packaging was neat but food is disappointing: Pad See ew (2/5): Flavor was okay but VERY greasy Tom Kha soup (1/5): So salty it was inedible. Weird grisly chicken peices and large pieces of onion. Green Curry (2/5): Flavor is edible but far from good. Very salty. Chicken is pretty bad. Large chunks of red bell pepper are unappetizing. No bamboo shoots. Canned pineapple chunks. I will definitely NOT order again.

Delicious Thai Food, convenient location and friendly staff! I ordered the Pad See Ew with Shrimp and Duck with 3rd level spicy 10/10 and Shrimp and Crab Spring Rolls 10/10. The food was piping hot and delicious and the service was great! I definitely recommend and I will definitely be back. Portion sizes are huge!

The service is amazing. The lady serving us was so nice that out experience was even better. My friend and I got the beef salad and shrimp karee. The beef salad was delicious just wish it had more beef. The shrimp karee came with only 4 pieces of shrimp. I get it, the shrimp pieces are big, but there should be more shrimp for one of the more expensive dishes on the menu. Overall it was a good experience and loved it

I have order and are here a couple of times and the service has been great. I placed an order once and the food was late due to a busy night. The owner was nice enough to comp the whole meal. Over the food is good it's a busy take out due to the fact that quality of food here is Great. Order the wings, drunken noddles and pad see ew.

I ordered the green curry. Veggies are supposed to be green beans, eggplant, peppers, pineapple. It showed up with pineapple and cherry tomatoes in the curry. That's it. That's not even a dish! This place used to be fantastic.

I'm glad this place opened up in the 90s. It's another lunch option for Sunday post-service lunch. This place has pretty limited seating so don't roll in with a huge group. Came here for lunch with a group of 6. We basically had the place to ourselves. The server was super attentive and took good care of us. Their lunch specials are priced around $9 so it's a great deal if you're on a budget. I had the pad see ew and it was mad decent! Flavoring was on point and it wasn't overly salty. They also gave me a side of thai red spices which were legitimately spicy. I dowsed my dish with the spices and came away sweaty and satisfied. The portion size was pretty good too. This is a 3.5 star place. I will definitely be back!

This is hands-down the best Thai restaurant that I have tried in a very long time. Every time I've been curious to try something new on their menu, I've always been impressed. My go-to combination is the vegetable curry puffs, the fried tofu, and the pineapple fried rice. It makes for a delicious and balanced meal. I also highly recommend the green curry - I order it with salmon. It is prepared to perfection. My last recommendation is the seared cashew nut lemon sole. Such a wonderful mix of flavors! You would expect food of this quality from a four diamond restaurant, but the prices are very reasonable. I'm so happy to have it here on the Upper West Side. Don't hesitate to surf their menu. You will not be disappointed - they aim to please!

So so sooooo happy Amster Thai is in the UWS. The UWS--no, I think NYC in general--lacks truly good, authentic Thai food... (you'd think that wouldn't be the case in NYC) Anyway, prior to Amster Thai's opening, I had to resort to the heavily overrated Thai Market (this one girl who works at the register at Thai Market is RUDE AF, and kept rolling her eyes at me when they messed up my pick up & delivery orders) On to Amster Thai (based on delivery only): Do get: - green curry w chicken -- I get it "extra spicy" which is the highest spice level, but it still doesn't do it for me - their desserts -- taro with black sticky rice, mango w/ sticky rice - THAI ICED TEA!!!! One of the best Thai iced teas evaaaaa. Not too sweet & doesn't taste fake. Don't get: - pad see yew -- tasted too bland & got it with beef, but it was like RUBBER... I couldn't finish this dish What I do love about Amster Thai is that the ingredients are super fresh & it feels more like homemade food! However, one note -- the foods been a bit inconsistent lately, the green curry I ordered today wasn't as good as usual. Also, I LOVE Tum Yum Soup. I usually get a giant bucket when possible and eat it for days. However, today, it sounded super watered down... was missing the strong spices I love about the soup (ie. Cilantro, Kaffir lime leaves, lemongrass, green onions, chili ) and one thing that's always been bothering me is that the ingredients in their tum yum soup are a bit atypical; there's broccoli, carrots, cherry tomatoes, and peppers... the broccoli honestly is super off putting for me... and makes it feel more like a tomato vegetable soup. Pls fix the tum yum soup! :S

HOW does this place have 4 stars?? Noodles are... ok. Crab rangoon tasted like plastic reheated crap. The soup was hands down the worst soup I've ever had. Water. Tom yum is supposed to be aromatic and light and spicy. Their soup is seriously just water. With 3 quarter pieces of old mushroom. What happened to New York food??? And customer service. where they refused to refund or make it right because, "it is prepared as it should be." Well, I must have been mistaken when I was in Thailand. Because this is not thai food. Gross.

I have been an avid loyal customer to Raenu for the past year and half and have placed about 30-40 orders between my partner and I through DoorDash. There was 2 specific occasions where the food wasn't up to par or tasted how it normally tastes ONLY TWICE! So we requested a refund on DoorDash. the first time was in July of 2021 and the second time was in January of 2022. Now tonight I place an order on DoorDash from Raenu and I noticed they've cancelled the order so we called them like what's going on? The man who picks up the phone is like he couldn't make us happy and he's sorry and I'm like what?? Why did u cancel our order? He's saying he cannot make us happy and he won't place the order anymore because we've issued a lot of refunds where they didn't receive their money. So I asked him what were the dates of those orders he's like he cannot find that information right now so at that moment I'm like something is up. He had no resolution to solve the problem except saying sorry and that there no longer serving us. I am livid and very disappointed in the way this was handled! They don't even have any receipts of all these orders they're talking about. Anyway Raenu has lost 2 loyal customers because of the incompetence of their employee who answered the phone who isn't even the owner or manager. Idiots

Did takeout so no photo, but the Drunken Noodles were fantastic. Did them with just veggies and no chili oil. I was not disappointed. Great meal, great portion, and great flavor. I'm looking forward to a chance to try these noodles in-person at some point.

Had a problem with the food, they got angry I complained and started canceling my new orders!

The delivery was over an hour late (on top of the 45min delivery window) when I finally called the restaurant. A very confrontational manager said they had a computer issue and tried to downplay the issue, argued and offended me. I had ordered here several times. The food is ok but the service and delivery have been seriously slipping and I don't think there's a reason to order from them.

I love this restaurant. I usually order their Thai salad and a side of ribs. It's a strange order I know.. but a simple salad and a tasty protein is a perfect combo from this place. It's quick and fresh too. Five out of five stars.

I love this place!! I get their papaya salad, Tom yum soup with shrimp and chicken basil stir fry. ALL SO DELICIOUS. Very affordable for the quality.

I ordered take out from here and although the lunch price was a steal, the food left me very disappointed. The tom yum soup (?spelling) was full of onions. It may have constituted 50% of the soup. It also only came with one shrimp and the flavor was off as well. It tasted like a combination of fish sauce and vinegar. The pad thai was average. It was on the dryer side. The drunken noodle was also probably the worst I've ever had. It came with weirdly chopped vegetables. I'm not used to having green beans in my drunken noodles.

I have ordered from Reanu Continental Thai Restaurant a bunch of times on DoorDash. Their food is always delicious, and the portion sizes are generous. I can't wait to visit in person after the pandemic.
