Ragazza was completely booked the first time we stopped by, which told me right away it’s a popular local favorite. The dining room is small and cozy, and it has that welcoming neighborhood feel where it seems like everyone knows each other. Reservations are definitely recommended. On our first visit, we ordered carryout. The Roasted Goat Cheese (baked goat cheese with red sauce and oregano) had great flavor, though the crostini was missing from the order. The Lasagna Bolognese was outstanding — easily some of the best I’ve ever had. Rich, perfectly layered, and full of flavor with the bolognese, parmesan béchamel, red sauce, and mozzarella. For dessert, the Limoncello Cake was bright and delicious, and the NY-style salted caramel cheesecake was dense and so good. We were impressed enough that we went back — this time with reservations — and dined in. On our return visit, we had the Swordfish with lemon caper butter, sautéed greens, and rosemary potatoes. It was cooked perfectly, with bright, balanced flavors and generous portions. We ordered the Lasagna Bolognese again (it’s that good), and it did not disappoint. For dessert, we tried the Tiramisu, and it was hands down the best I’ve ever had. The imported cookies, mascarpone, espresso, and cocoa were perfectly balanced — light, flavorful, and not overly sweet. The service was excellent, the portions were large, and the flavors were spot on across the board. What started as a convenient spot near our hotel turned into a place we’d absolutely go out of our way to visit again. Ragazza truly lives up to its reputation as a local gem.

I finally ate here after 7 years of seeing it on the corner of 43rd street. It was delicious. Service was great and the atmosphere was nice. After eating we got in the trolley to go to union station. It was a fun night. We ordered several things on the menu and drinks. Just look at our happy faces. This restaurant is worth trying.

Wow, we had the best Italian dinner ever here. Even the salad and bread were so fresh and delicious. I enjoyed my carbonara a lot while my husband said the stuffed mushrooms were out of this world. Great service and ambience, excellent food, and crazy affordable prices for the quality. So glad our tattoo artist next door to Ragazza recommended this place to us! 🍝

We came here for a birthday dinner. We had been to all the usual suspects for italian in the city so we were really looking for a new place... the best of the best! And I'm happy to report that we've found it! RUN, don't walk, to Ragazza!!! Italian-approved from all my friends who recommended it. Our server was Scott and he was also the reason for our 5 stars. He's such a gem! We started with the Burrata and homemade foccacia with homemade butter. Foccacia is a must try! My son ordered the carbonara and said it was hands down the best pasta he's ever eaten! Portions were giant (see my pics). Based on reviews, I had to order their porkchop with augratin potatoes and broccolini. This was literally the size of my entire hand, and the potatoes were the size of a giant piece of lasagna! 3 meals came from this and it was absolutely cooked to perfection like a perfect steak almost. Then we ordered lasagna and meatballs to sample. Best meatballs in the city, without a doubt and the lasagna is amazing also! It was hopping on a Tuesday night so make reservations. Parking in the back. 10/10 we'll be back so thank you for a fabulous dining experience!

My wife and I came here for a nice dinner out and it was so great. We were raving about it all the way home. Our server was awesome, the atmosphere was warm and romantic. I ordered the eggplant Parmesan which I enjoyed immensely. Not to mention more than fair prices. Great KC restaurant, thanks again.

The space is absolutely beautiful and has such a great atmosphere. The food was really good, and the service was friendly and attentive. The only thing that missed the mark for me was the espresso martini — it tasted pretty bitter and wasn’t as smooth as I expected. Overall, still a great experience.

Amazing dinner, great service. If you are stuck at St. Luke's this is a great place for lunch or dinner. A bit far to walk but there is good parking.

My cousin and I were on the hunt for a happy hour spot that was central to our homes and had a good wine list + items on the menu that were vegetarian friendly. Enter Ragazza. I've heard folks rave about Ragazza for a long time and it's been on my list for YEARS so I was really excited to have a reason to go check it out yesterday evening. With us both having kids happy hour is the perfect time for us to sneak out before bedtime for an early meal and we made our own girl dinner out of appetizers and wine which was really nice. There are several things to love about Ragazza: the ambiance was honestly perfection - casual yet elegant. I enjoyed that you didn't need to dress up to enjoy a nice mal - not saying you should come here in sweats, but jeans would be fine. I also thought the happy hour menu was really nice. It's a place in town that still has really great deals and it was fun to see that. It allowed for us to try a lot of different appetizers. The food itself was all pretty good. The standouts for me included the charcuterie plate and the bean dip. The goat cheese and arancini to me was a little underwhelming. I wonder if maybe our arancini was just a bit over cooked with the happy hour rush - I'd try it again but it was pretty dry. I think it must have been an off order. All of that to be said - I really liked Ragazza and I want to return for a full meal - overall a really wonderful neighborhood spot that I wish all the best!

Despite my love for all things carby and garlicky, I hadn't had the chance to try Ragazza until recently. I was not disappointed! We were a large group of ten so had made reservations. We had speedy service and our server had great suggestions for those of us who'd never been before. Portions are generous so plan to split or take some home! I shared the chicken piccata with a friend and it was delicious. I would recommend! We also shared the arancini which were equally tasty. My only regret is not trying something with a red sauce (a recommendation of the server). Alas I was swayed by the piccata. Next time!

went out with my girlfriend for a nice little gals brunch we started off with the arancini balls the sauce was really good but I do wish that it had more cheese inside of them. I got the vegetable Ragu on top of polenta with a side of meatballs. The Ragu was phenomenal! she got the lasagna came out in a little cast-iron skillet. It was delicious! our server was amazing and he toasted with us at the end! We will be back!

This place never disappoints! Tonight we had a special pasta dish with wild boar! It reminded us of a meal we had in Chicago at Spiagga. (Which has closed). It was equally good! Such a great restaurant in KC!!!

Amazing! The service was the best service I have had in awhile. I had the Sunday Sauce Everyday and it was so delicious. The meatballs were my favorite but the sausage and pork were so tender and delicious. Had the pistachio cannoli for dessert and it was so good. Limoncello was delicious!! The decor and lighting is so cute we had a great birthday dinner.

This place perfectly nails food and wine. The menu is perfectly curated. They have all the great Italian basics and elevated entrees. My grilled ahi tuna was fresh and tender. The swordfish was rich and flavorful. They have an excellent selection of wines and cocktails. The server helped us decide what red to pair with our meal. The amaretti cookie was by far the best item I had here, and possibly the best thing I've ate in KC. "Small and soft, yet robust almond cookie" is an understatement. It truly did pair well with a shot of dumante Sicilian pistachio liquor. Ragazza is elevated casual dining, full of good times and beautiful food.

Five of us went to Ragazza for dinner on the recommendations of quite a few friends. I really do not know what the fuss is all about. This is just an average place. The interior is pretty plain. Nothing fancy. Food is merely average. We had a $35 bottle of red wine on the recommendation of our server. It tasted like ordinary table wine. It did not warrant the price of the bottle. It was just average. I ordered a roasted beet salad to start. It was okay but not spectacular. The lemon dressing was good. My entree was the Bucatini All'Amatriciana. I think this is their version of arrabiata. It's a little spicy with red pepper flakes. I also ordered sausage with it. Again, it was okay. Nothing amazing. The pasta did not seem to be homemade and the sausage was unremarkable. I'd try a different entree next time. My friend had lasagna. It came in a mini skillet which was hard to eat without spilling some. He said the noodles were very cold in the middle. The other entrees were also average with nothing reaching "amazing" status. Like I said, I don't get the hype!

We love Ragazza and are so happy it survived the street car being built! The ambiance is relaxed and cool- it's always busy. I get the chicken piccata- chefs kiss delicious. My bf got the lasagne and said it was great as well. The service is always prompt and respectful.

I tried this on whim after hearing from a friend of a friend that it was good. Personally I wasn't a fan. The ambiance inside is very nice and feels upscale, which I can only assume is factored into the price. Definitely don't expect anything on the menu to be cheap here. The service was also great, my server recommended a couple of dishes and was very attentive when refilling drinks and making sure my needs were met. When it comes to the food I was underwhelmed. I ordered the Bucatini All'Amatriciana and was not impressed. The noodles were much thicker and more dense than I cared for and the sauce itself was too watery. The crushed red pepper that was used also added a strange bit of crunch in every few bites. I also tried the Sunday Sauce Everyday which was a strange combination of meats that all seemed to be cooked with different levels of care. The meatball was by far the best in the dish. The pork and sausage were much less appetizing and didn't have near the amount of flavor. Last, my friend who joined me tried the Traditional Caesar Salad and was a bit lost. The inclusion of anchovies may be a classic Italian recipe but it's definitely not traditional to us. It made for a strange and unappetizing starter to our meal. Overall, both my stomach and my wallet felt unsatisfied after eating here.

I think Ragazza is one of my new favorite Italian restaurants in KC. I came here for brunch a few years ago, and was excited to come back here for a dinner date. The food was excellent- I would highly recommend the chicken piccata. Service was wonderful as well. My friend asked for extra Parmesan on her salad, and they delivered! The prices are what you would expect for an upscale casual restaurant, with appetizers priced around $10-$15 and entrees priced around $20-$30. Drinks and desserts were also pretty reasonable. The ambiance is cozy, and perfect for a date night or night out with friends. Just a heads up, the parking lot was full so we had to find street parking.

5 Stars for the entire Ragazza team. From the moment you walk in the hostess was happy to see you and glad you chose their restaurant. We had Benjamin as our waiter. He was both knowledgeable and very service oriented. He helped us with the wine list and suggested pairings from the daily special. We began with a bottle of French Pinot Noir which was excellent and moderately priced Appetizers of Arrechini focaccia bread .Just the right amounts I had the Vancouver Salmon with pesto risotto daily special , my wife and daughter had the Bolognese. All dishes were flavorful and plentiful. We concluded the meal with Italian cookies and lingered over another glass of wine. Terrific night , great team , wonderful service and fabulous food

A family owned Italian restaurant with a modern but cozy vibe. Our waitress recommended anything with the homemade red sauce and she was spot on. The red sauce did not disappoint! We tried the roasted goat cheese, stuffed mushrooms, bucatini with chicken, and shrimp and Italian sausage polenta. I could rave about each dish! We ended with a limoncello cake with limoncello shots. What a perfect ending to this meal and experience.

4 1/2. Used to enjoy Ragazza's Westport Road location, but for no good reason had lapsed visiting them on Main. I'm glad to be reacquainted. Everything was really good. My wife, a tremendous cook, especially w Italian dishes, compared their Chicken Piccata favorably and paid close attention for subtleties she could incorporate. Modest, but well curated wine list, impressive cocktails, and house made Limoncello, which was absent the cloying sweetness of average concoctions. Very nice meal. Nary a complaint.

Stopped in For HH. Ordered 3 items meatballs, goat cheese, and bean dip. All 3 were good. Good bites for the $5 charge. Nice , reasonable choice for some quick bites. Service was good.

Our reservation was for 8pm. We arrived 25 min early due to parking and also maybe grabbing a cocktail at the Bar. So, we did get a cocktail. We then were told our seats at the Bar were reserved (We didn't know this) it was our first time here and the wonderful bartender said we could still order drinks through him, which we did. I got the Ragazza Streetcar and my love chose an Old Fashioned, both were very well made. We then waited off to the side of the aisle ( not alot of space to stand around) and thankfully when we were ready to be seated the hostess stated that there was a cancelation on a 4 seat table that we were being seated at. Perfect, I always appreciate the extra space. I then noticed 3 place settings were being removed leaving 1 for our table. Not a big deal but i knew i'd be asking for a setting eventually as indeed it was forgotten once appetizers were ordered and served. We ordered the 9 oz Meatball and Caprese salad, both full of flavor and just perfect to start and yes, we shared. We contined with a bottle of wine ( It was excellent) to go with dinner which for me was the Carbonara and the Shrimp Linguini respectively. Perfect choices, right amount of spice for mine and great, just right portion size. The flavors and presentation were divine. We usually never order dessert and this time we did. The Cherry cobbler and Tiramisu were superb. My only not really complaint but disappointment was having to ask for silverware and also noticing that although good, our waitress was not too friendly. I understand being busy but simple formalities and engagement only take a moment. All in all I look forward to returning.

Came here after an evidentiary hearing with our trial team and some experts. Vibes were cozy and lovely. The food was about what I'd expect, and overall good experience of pasta and red wine.

This is probably my 5th review of this establishment -- because I absolutely love it and just forget to check in. Never a bad visit, not even mediocre, for over a decade they consistently blow my sock off. Get your fanny to Ragazza for the yummiest treats, sweetest service, and coziest family vibes.

We had been wanting to heat her and it finally happened after we were at the symphony one Sunday afternoon. The atmosphere was happy and bustling and we were greeted warmly. Now I can't remember what we both had to eat other than it was delicious and so much so we're gonna go back again this Sunday to try different things. A wonderful new find for us.

Wow ! Some of the best Italian !!! Appetizers we got stuffed mushrooms and burrata 10/10. Also got the caprese it was good too. Expresso martinis 10/10 Pasta we all something different and our favorite was the chicken piccata . 12/10. Dessert we got the cheesecake and pistachio cannoli. Cheesecake was velvety and 10/10 but the pistachio cannolis were a fail. You get two tiny cannolis and they were just not good. Service was great!

Wow!! My partner and I came here for our 2 year anniversary dinner, and love that it's so openly LGBT+ friendly and our experience was perfect! Friendly staff, the atmosphere was intimate and didn't feel crowded at all. And the food was GREAT!! I had a limoncello martini, which paired beautifully with my pasta (named below). With focaccia as a side and Mediterranean salad to start, the whole meal had me shocked that not a bit of it felt better than the other. Each thing was delicious. My partner felt the same way about their lasagna we shared a salted caramel cheesecake as well and truly... It was phenomenal. Cheesecake Factory can't even begin to compare.

How have I never been here? This place is fun, has a great story and the food was outstanding. Scott our waiter was maybe the best waiter I've ever had. Fun, lively, likable and shared stories about the place and their food that make you want to keep coming back. We had the mushrooms as an appetizer which they get from a farm in Leavenworth. Two had cheese and sausage and one stuffed with cheese surrounded by sauce. The Sunday sauce with all the meats was incredible. Definitely want to try Sunday Brunch.

The host was very nice and amazing I had a reservation at 8:30. Got there a little earlier and was still sat immediately. Appetizers: For an appetizer we got the eggplant fries. I will say I got them based on reviews. They weren't my fave thing but it came with a delicious creamy sauce that I loved. Entrees: For my entre I got the carbonara. If you like carbonara you will love there's too. It was lighter and very good. Wine: I got a moscato for my chose of wine. If you love wine that's on the sweet side this would definitely be for you! It wasn't overly bubbly at all either. Definitely would get it again.

Ragazza is fantastic! Great date night spot that I would consider romantic. While we waited for our table, we sat and the bar and enjoyed some good cocktails and I like their tap selection (nice to see something from Vine Street on tap! Don't see that often). Also had some very good wine with dinner. The arancini is decent. Love the fry/crunch on it, but I wish it was creamier on the inside. The sausage and artichoke soup had great flavor! The corn chowder was alright, a bit more like corn soup by texture, in my opinion. I very much enjoyed the carbonara! Overall I was impressed with the food and menu options and would love to return to try more. I LOVED the decor and atmosphere. Also very much appreciate our server who was very friendly and helpful.

I love this restaurant. They have a great happy hour, and the service at the bar has always been top notch. I'm not very familiar with Italian wines, so Addie let me taste a couple things before deciding what to drink. All of the food is great. My favorite menu items include: Burrata, Roasted Goat cheese, Wedge salad, carbonara with grilled chicken, or shrimp linguine. I need to come back soon and try the Lasagne or chicken piccata. Don't pass on dessert, either. They have one of the best espresso martinis in KC.

The server was amazing - I think his name was Robert. He has been there 12 years and is the primary reason I would return. The lasagna was pretty good, too.

A wonderful & historic building that feels like an old Italian family restaurant. The food was absolutely some of the best I've had (besides in Italy). Excellent service, Excellent friendly people and very reasonably priced. You owe it to yourself to visit Ragazza. Order the Lasagna Bolognese- you won't be disappointed!

This is one of the best restaurants in Kansas City! The only issue is it is loud so don't go if you want an intimate dinner. We we on a Sunday during the day and there was a DJ... it was horrible that we couldn't hear each other due to all the concrete and volume... I will definitely go back as the food is what makes this place and the ambiance is a secondary issue.

Excellent dinner experience. We recently dined at Ragazza and thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Two couples with three off us for the first time. Like the ambience right when we walked in. The look and vibe of a neighborhood restaurant. A bit loud but everyone there appeared to be having fun. Our server did a good job ago sharing his preferences and steering us away from dishes that didn't meet the success levels of the restaurant favorites. He provided the right amount of attention, was nice and a good conversationalist. We had the Casio e pepe, chicken piccata and the carbonara. All were delicious. The person who had the carbonara said it was the best they had ever had. Salads were also good Portion were excellent for the price and just the right amount of food. Will be returning.

This place has been on my list to try for the absolute longest time and I cannot believe it's taken me this long to finally eat here and review this restaurant. Now, with construction - it might be a little bit of a headache to get here and parking is sort of limited in the lot but there is plenty of street parking. I made a reservation for 2 on a Wednesday night and i'm very glad I did. The restaurant is fairly small and can only sit a limited amount of people so make sure to set a reservation - even on a week day. I was seated promptly and service was pretty quick. I started off with an espresso martini and this is not for the weak! This is one of the more stronger espresso martinis i've had in a very very long time and i see nothing wrong with this but if you have a pretty high sensitivity to alcohol - i'd probably avoid this drink. I have a pretty good tolerance to strong tasting alcohol and even I had to make a face while sipping on this. I judge all Italian restaurants on their Arancini because although it's a very simply dish, it's easy to over complicate it and get it wrong because it's so "simple". The Arancini was nice and hot and nothing out of this world however, the sauce is what makes this dish. Typical arancini dishes have a sweet, basic sauce while this sauce had a slight kick to it- and it made all the difference. My partner and I split the Sunday Sauce Everyday pasta and the restaurant was very accommodating to this. They split the pasta dish in the back and I still received a very good portion. The meatball tasted great, the pork was super tender but the Scimeca's sausage was extraordinary. I honestly wouldn't mind if the sauce only had that sausage because it is packed with lots of flavor. For our sides we ordered Rosemary potatoes, which were fantastic and seasoned perfectly and some broccolini - flavor in every bite. You won't break the bank by coming here, and you're in for a very nice dinner if you come here. I typically get asked what the best italian restaurant in KC is and Ragazza definitely makes the list of top 5. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant if you are looking for something more family style, it's a much more intimate setting. If you want an elevated dining experience, come here! Will definitely be back soon!

Sunday Service was great despite being busy. I ordered a couple appetizers and the mushrooms lasagna. The lasagna arancini were delicious. However the bread was super hard, so I used my arancini to dip in the cheese and sauce. Would definitely come back again

Our dinner was fantastic! Addie was our server and she was simply marvelous, beat us to the punch on everything we needed! The hostess was awaiting us when we arrived it seemed, which was also lovely! Food was very timely and the service from all around staff was great considering it seemed to be a busier evening! (A little loud for such a small dining room) We will absolutly be coming back again!

There's only one restaurant where I will order eggplant Parmesan. And Ragazza is it. And don't get me started about the chicken piccata. Oh yeah. The staff are the best in the industry.

Another fantastic meal at Ragazza! The meat lasagna may be the best in Kansas City - against tough competition! Beet salad as a starter is excellent. Service is attentive and competent. Great to see restaurant almost full at 6 pm with the KC Trolley running. Trolley stop is 1/2 block away.

Went there the first night of the snowstorm. Lovely place. Lucky to to get a seat. Arancini balls were perfect. Eggplant parmigiana was wonderful. Service was great. Surprising place in an unexpected location

We came here specifically for their vinyl brunch. the DJ did not disappoint, he played some great dining music. all on vinyl of course. we had a delicious meal for both meat eaters and vegetarians alike, for a brunch menu they had a good selection to choose from. I had the steak and eggs, the steak was super tender. The service was excellent, our server was sure to attend to us and made us feel welcome from when we sat down until we left.

Amazing Italian restaurant down the road from where we were staying. Of course we always try to find Italian food since we love it so much. Wonderful environment, cutely decorated with that Italian vibe. The staff was so friendly and food delicious. I had the Rigatoni Bolognese and he had the Sunday Sauce Everyday. Both were phenomenal. I'll definitely go back if I am back in Kansas City!

One of the best Italian spots in KC! We sat at the bar and received great service - bar is super cute too. We ordered the burrata for our appetizer (5 stars), spaghetti & meatballs, and the chicken piccata - all of the food was great and we will definitely go back.

I have been here countless times and have never had a bad meal or bad service. Ragazza is a great date night or group get together spot. I would recommend having a reservation. Even on weekdays it can get busy. Now on to the food and drink. If you are a limoncello fan, you need to try their house made limoncello. I have ordered each on of their limoncello cocktails and the limoncello martini is my current favorite. Their roasted goat cheese appetizer is so simple but so delicious. I consistently order the bucatini all'amatriciana and it is fantastic every time with the perfect kick of spiciness. Overall, this is a top 3 KC Italian restaurant for me.

Ragazza is a favorite among my friend group! Last time we dined there, we were fortunate enough to have Addie as our server- she made us feel like we were the only guests at the restaurant and quickly became the long-list fifth member of our friend group. I always make sure to get the Caesar salad- WITH ANCHOVIES, of course! Ragazza always delights and I'm looking forward to my next visit.

3.5/5 stars Loved the ambiance. Great for special occasions or date night. Cocktails and appetizer was great. Enjoyed the burrata and Roman spritz. Caccio E Pepe was on the peppery side for me, and service was okay for a busy Saturday. I also ordered gluten-free pasta, so take that with a grain of salt.
