Such good tacos!! Came here for Taco Tuesday and they are only $4 a piece. The Al Pastor tacos are a standout, with tons of meat and pineapple chunks. My friend got the crispy shrimp taco and loved it. Got a tasty house margarita for only $8 since it was also Happy Hour. Couldn’t ask for a better deal! The vibes are more like a bar, but the food is delicious. I’d also recommend the house guacamole!

Phenomenal service - love the owner… he makes an amazing spicy margarita and the tacos are really well priced and also delicious. You can tell they use only quality ingredients and really care about the service. They have happy hour 4-6 Tuesday - Friday and it’s a great deal!!!!!!! Love them— Luis is amazing. Definitely recommend this spot for happy hour, dinner and late night munchies! open late on weekends!!!! The bar has a great selection too!

Wonderful local spot for delicious cocktails and great tacos. A wide variety of margarita flavors, each one is delicious and very reasonably priced! Loved sitting out on the patio during the summer too.

Raizes has delicious cocktails! They are not too sweet, unless you want, and refreshing. I went on a Thursday when they have a special on their margaritas so was able to try a few and they were all great. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We had some tacos that had great tortillas. Salsa was flavorful. I will definitely be back especially to try some more cocktails.

This family owned restaurant gave us a nice experience, The food was so tasty ( They have vegetarian options for the tacos sweet potatoes and cauliflower (I loved it) and the cocktails were unique ( they make their own syrups and dry their own fruit ) The customer service was incredible. We had the opportunity to be attending for Luis that explained to us a little bit about the food, cocktails, and restaurant.

A great place for some tasty tacos and amazing cocktails! The vibe is casual and fun. Perfect for a date night or catch-up with a friend at the bar. The cocktails are all skillfully crafted and unique. They go above and beyond to have a fun presentation for the drinks. And do not sleep on their guacamole! All of their tacos are great, but highly recommend the Al pastor taco.

This is the best place if you want a FRESH and AUTHENTIC margarita or tacos. The atmosphere is immaculate, great staff and amazing owner. Have never felt so welcome at a restaurant/bar. If you want to have a great time and enjoy yourself- COME HERE!

Stop letting the public use your bathrooms !!! I wanted to like this place so bad but everytime I started liking one thing , it was overshadowed by another . Went here off a recommendation from a friend . The menu was very limited but not bad . We ordered all their tacos which were delicious minus the fish taco which was average in my opinion . I don't understand what the vibe is supposed to be here . There was no music to enjoy and the service was slow . The female server that attended to us was painfully slow and we were the only ones in there besides what looked like their friends at the bar . She completely paid no attention to us and decided it was happy hour at the bar while her friends were there . My GF and I were having a hard time comprehending why the service was as bad and as slow as it was given that we're the only customers there . Meanwhile as we are finally enjoying our cocktails , the bathroom became a public restroom for anyone coming off the street to use it . There were several shady characters coming in and out of the place that appeared to be drunk and inebriated from who knows what . Most of them appeared to be friends of the two servers there . Apparently , the servers friends were allowed to order pizza and enjoy outside food at their discretion inside the restaurant. They were having a jolly good time . Luckily, the female server ended up finishing her shift ( or at least it appeared that way ) and the male server that was there took over . He was nice and attentive. I unfortunately never caught both of their names . Needless to say , if it wasn't for the male server , I would have rated this place no stars if possible . Definitely won't be back . The food and cocktails were very good and that's the only reason why I gave it any stars .

Huge, delicious tacos that came out hot and quick. The shrimp tacos were perfectly crispy. The steak tacos were my favorite and my son liked chicken tacos best, but everything we tried was great. The margarita was perfect. And the salsa had just the right amount of heat. The place is nice while still having a casual decor. It would be perfect for a casual date night. We took our older kids and enjoyed dinner at a table. (The stools have no backs, so I wouldn't bring younger kids.) We're definitely going back soon.

This place is awesome, exactly what my wife and I needed on a lazy Sunday while we were out in the area. Great drinks, perfect sized tacos, really cool atmosphere, the place has the works. It was a little slower at the time too so we got to chat with the bartender who was really cool to talk to - you could tell he really liked working there and he was being really genuine about it being a good place to work and to go for drinks and food. We will definitely be back for another round or several.

The esquites is delish and the tacos are packed full. Try the "tea-quila" it was such a good cocktail and it comes with a fun little experienc!

We finally tried this place after it changed names. The food and cocktails are delicious. I had the shrimp, sweet potato, and cauliflower tacos. Great presentation on the Churro Con Cafe and it was tasty. We will be back.

Terrible service, will never return. We waited 40 minutes for a drink. Completely careless staff. There's a million other places to go in Chicago and this one should be avoided.

I just found my goto margarita bar! This place is truly something special. There is definitely a lot of passion behind the varios tequila and mezcal creations. I can't wait to be back! Please realize that it is incredibly difficult to find this caliber of quality margaritas for only $10. This place is perhaps the best margarita bar in Chicago.

Such a great spot. The drinks were amazing and creative and the tacos were delicious. Luis makes everything homemade. From the cocktail syrups to the tortillas. He was a lot of fun to talk to and has a great and diverse culinary background. We cannot wait to go back.

My husband and I were in the area and popped in last night out of curiosity because Mexican is our fave, and we're so glad we did. It's a perfect spot with a Michelin-trained chef and bartender, and the drinks are excellent and so reasonably priced. I've been raging against $15-$17 cocktails that are mediocre at so many Chicago restaurants. Louis' margaritas are some of the best you'll have (I am an insufferable snob about margaritas, I promise I know what I'm talking about), and are $10 (other bartenders note: this is what a classic cocktail should cost). The crispy shrimp taco was my fave, my husband loved the fish taco (they were all great). I hugely appreciate his vision to bring a small menu of classic Mexican fare to the area - Raizes translates to roots, and Louis talked about the importance to bring authentic Mexican food out in his restaurant. Well done.

I was pleasantly surprised by the food here. We got a burrito bowl and a steak quesadilla. Both were fresh and high quality. The steak didn't have any of the tough/chewy pieces that are all too common at many places. The service was friendly and our food was brought to us quickly after ordering at the counter. I wouldn't hesitate to return if I was in the area.

I went to this cocktail bar a few nights ago with a friend. We loved it! Margaritas were fresh and delicious as were the tacos and esquites. But most of all the service the service was efficient and friendly. And a welcoming atmosphere as well. A great place! We'll be back soon. Nancy G

We checked this place out a couple of weekends ago for brunch. Going back today for drinks. Food was delicious and the drinks were on point. The chilaquiles had the perfect amount of crunch. And of that pork... it just melts in your mouth. That egg was perfectly cooked. If you're like me. You want that egg yolk to run and mix with the rest of the dish. We also had the concha. It was the perfect combination of sweet and savory. Getting back to the drinks though. The cocktails I had were ridiculous. Great presentation and amazing flavors. I'm an old fashioned fan and the Vanela (cinnamon) Fashion didn't disappoint. But the star was the Aire del Desierto. Mezcal with pear and prosecco (trust me). It's topped off with this bubble dome. It might sound "gimmicky". But it's not. It hits all the senses. The bubble pops and you really get a whiff of what's to come. Really creative and tasty. They definitely don't cheap out on the quality of ingredients. Like so many places do. Great service too. If you're in the area. Check them out.

The ambiance was industrial casual, order at the counter and they bring the food to the table. Salsa was great- just spicy enough and blended ingredient so you don't get a mouthful of just onion or pepper. The food was good. Fresh, creative ingredients, well presented.

Food is simple ingredients and reasonably priced. Cocktails are handmade and strong. And the Marg was the best I'd ever had. No joke.

Love the multiple delicious Mezcal drink options on the menu. Food is good too. My favorites are the Esquites, Sweet Potato and Crispy Shrimp Tacos! Drink wise we loved the Aire Del Desierto and the Mexican Penicillin. Carlos was awesome. Looking forward to lots of patio summer action here soon! Thank you.

Updating my review because Spicy recently changed their menu and it's STILL AMAZING!!! They now have taco dinner plates, burritos, a new smoky salsa, and many alcohol options. Overall: A great option for quick and tasty tacos, but the fish options leave much to be desired. The good: The meat tacos we had were fantastic and bursting with flavor. The steak taco sticks to its roots with only cilantro and onion, but those simple flavors helped make the (well-cooked) steak shine. The al pastor has a lot more going on, marinated in a chile guajillo sauce and topped with chunks of pineapple, onion, and cilantro. The tacos themselves are stuffed and are a good value for the price. Pickup was quick and easy as well. The not-so-good: The fish and shrimp tacos were both underwhelming. There wasn't a lot of flavor to them, and they were tough and chewy. We also planned to eat outside under their pergola on a nice day but arrived and found that it was closed off. Food: 8/10 Atmosphere: 7.5/10 Service: 9/10

Just terrible. Dried out meat. Burnt and simply disgusting. Such a bad experience. Don't waste your time and money.

First order from this business... delivery was quick, food was packaged well and portions/price were good. We did the portabella tacos (really good) and quesabirria tacos (have to order 3...you won't regret it). VERY good... quesabirria tacos included awesome consome and we're packed with meat. Will definitely order again and recommend both!

Very disappointed. We ordered with Uber eats, and the food was simply not tasty. While the price is very fair and the quantity of food was perfect for two people (20 dollars for about 4 tacos and nachos) the meal itself wasn't good at all. The chips were quite stale - seemed very old. The Buffalo chicken nachos weren't much other than Buffalo sauce and bits of chicken. The tacos were OK- nothing spectacular.

Found a freaking rock in my taco?! Luckily didn't break a tooth or swallow it but like wtf?! If I was more of a complainer I would have called but like someone go check the kitchen??? The food was fire 10/10 and is the only reason they aren't getting a straight 1 star. Also they really need to list all ingredients on their tacos. People have allergies to things like cheese, tomato and avocado and you can just put things on without listing them IMO.

Solid Mexican food. I've only had the pastor tacos and they are very good. This will def be a regular stop for me.

The place is decorated pretty cool. Colorful and inviting. Salsas quite flavorful, both with the chips and salsa as well as the bottled varieties. Good variety of heat, served cold. Very nice. Steak burrito was wrapped too loose, causing ingredients to kind of spill out all over the place. It didn't help that it was served on a small baking sheet type plate...felt like this burrito would have been better plated on something larger. Not a lot of steak, mostly stuffed with rice, and not particularly hot. Forgettable.

This restaurant has been rebranded as Raizes Mexican Cocktail Bar. They have margaritas, beer, NA beverages and tacos. We had the traditional margarita and a jalapeño and cilantro margarita. The Jalapeño and cilantro one was great, highly recommended. The traditional was nothing special. We had chips and salsa which were fine. At $10, the margaritas are fine for what you get. The tacos look like street tacos and are $5. We liked it, decent neighborhood place.

I thought the tacos were delicious and the sauces had a real nice kick to them. They were reasonably priced - not the cheapest but also not the most expensive (I believe it was $3 a taco?) The meat was very, very juicy whice I personally love.

I come here about once a week since it's really close to work. I love the Sriracha Chicken, Al Pastor, and Carnitas tacos. The steak and jalapeño shrimp are pretty average but I'll add it to my order when I don't feel like having chicken and pork. The fish taco is pretty good too--it's a better version of Rubio's fish tacos. I wish the chips and guacamole came in multiple sizes since you can only order one big size for $6.75 but it's definitely fresh and tasty. Serving/cooking time is very fast--maybe 8 minutes or less. The quesadillas are very tasty and cheap $$ too. I highly recommend visiting if you're in the area. Edit: I forgot to mention the elote cup! That's a game changer too. Tastes on par with Velvet Taco's elote cup.

Delicious chicken mole burritos. I heard about this place because it's on a list, released by the Mexican Consulat, of restaurants that serve Jalisco cuisine. I decided to give it a try for lunch and am glad I did. The spicing is subtle and the ingredients are fresh and delicious. Personnel was nice, too.

Closed Mondays. Didn't say that on yelp and I ordered. They took my money but the restaurant is closed.

Walk up and order from the counter style restaurant. Reasonably priced. The hot sauces are great, although you have to ask for them in order to be brought to your table. I had the nopales taco and Rajas taco. Both were delicious. Also I loved the Mexican corn. It was super quite, maybe some light music could be played? Almost awkwardly quite haha. But the food was yummy and the service was quick. Will come back in the future.

OMG. I found this place on UberEats and we are floored. This is probably the best Mexican take out we've ever had. And I never write reviews! My friend ordered all the vegetarian options and she loved them all. Her favorite was the sweet potato but was surprised how the hibiscus flower was even more delicious. Mine was the mole taco and the mushroom burrito! Seriously, this place is worth it. I can't wait to go there in person once the lift is ordered. Could not take pictures because we ate everything.

Awww man I'm a bit disappointed I had high hopes since I'm within 3 minutes of spicy but when I got an order to go I found that my steak quesadilla is made with one tortilla so it's basically a taco with melted cheese and steak Don't get me wrong though! The steak is really tasty!! I was just hoping for a normal sized quesadilla. I also for chips and salsa to go and the salsa that was given is the same salsa given for the tacos (green salsa) I'll be back to try the tacos but my first impression is Also!! They don't have a drink fountain, the drinks they offer are bottled water, jaritos, Mexican pepsi(?) and horchata.

They couldn't hack the lunch rush which is understandable since they've been open for less than a week. But hour long wait for 3 tacos is a bit much. Fish taco was doused in sour cream and had some candy sweet sauce that tasted like sweet and sour sauce. The favors were off together and just didn't work. Steak taco was underseasoned and didn't have a lot of meat in taco. Pretty sure they used a cheap cut of beef. The regular chicken taco was amazing though. Marinated well and grilled to perfection. Still wish there was there was more meat. Get this or the chorizo when you go, as my co workers can attest to. A lot to work on, and I hope they can do better since they are so close to my work. The owner should take a tour of Taqueira Asadero on Montrose or L Patron on Fullerton if they want a master class on how to run a quality taco joint.

I ordered the portabella burrito. The menu claimed it comes with beans, cheese, and sour cream, none of which was in the burrito. It was mostly rice. I had added guacamole to my order, but that was underseasoned just like the rest of the food. It had the potential to be sooooo yummy but it was just bland as hell and half the ingredients were missing.

Obsessed with this place! The tacos are amazing and with their new happy hour, it's such a cozy little place to have a margarita, eat some good tacos, and get some work done! Highly recommend!!

Best shrimp jalapeño tacos I've had in Chicago. Their al pastor tacos are really good too. Try the RumChata if you stop by, highly recommend.

I love their food I had them at the Pilsen fest. I when here on a Saturday and they blew my mind again. I love great food and these are the best taco I ever had. The service was fast and the food was cook with love.

This is the best tacos I've had! Meat is delicious nice and juicy! Salsas are reasonably spicy! Great to take my family to enjoy these tacos.

This place is really convenient for a quick lunch if you work nearby , or live in Lincoln and Damen area . I like their steak and chicken tacos , they are really good . Not too busy it depend on the day but service is pretty quick . The restaurant is clean and neat , well organized. Check out their multi color bottles of juice hanging at the wall inside the restaurant west view from cashier . If you like decoration then you got something to watch and watch again .

Don't bother. Walked in at noon on a Saturday and was greeted (not really, she just stood there with a blank stare) by an unwelcoming girl who seemed super excited to be at work. The menu for the burrito bowl says, "... pico de gallo, corn & salsa roja." I asked if the corn is in the salsa (no Oxford comma) and she seemed lost. I then asked if I can get the steak burrito bowl with no corn. That seemed to register, or so I thought. She came back 5 min later and asked if I wanted steak. Yes, that's what I ordered. Except when the bowl came, it wasn't steak. This place apparently thinks steak and roast beef are the same things. I mean, they both come from cows, right? Why not? They apparently get their rice from the same dump my grade school used to buy rice from; not good at all. The light kidney beans were fresh out the can, tossed on some cilantro, and there you have it folks, fit for the trash can. Oh yeah, and it had corn in it. Thanks, guys! No joke, I took 2 bites. The second was to make sure my taste buds weren't f'n with me. Nope. Garbage. There are so many good places to get Mexican food, this isn't one of them.
