Ramble Room Announces Opening Date, Classic American Food in Dallas - Eater Dallas

"Following the debut of Escondido Tex-Mex in November, restauranter Jon Alexis (the man behind TJ’s Seafood Market and Grill) has a big announcement about another property. Along with his newly formed group Imperial Fizz, Alexis announced in a press release that the Ramble Room at Snider Plaza in the Park Cities in spring 2023. Details on the food are thin, other than a promise of what Alexis calls “approachable American cuisine” and the promise of a family-friendly space. A representitive for the restaurant shared some rough menu items, including a waygu ruben, Italian sausage rigitoni, and filet mignon of tuna. “We wanted to do a style of restaurant that my friends as well as my parents would enjoy,” Alexis said, with the promise that it would be the kind of place diners can go a couple of times a week. The decor, however, is described in detail. Patrons will dine under high ceilings, tall windows offering a view of the world, a patio fireplace by the front door, and personal lamps at every booth. The space is 4,500 square feet and holds 75 in the dining room and 50 more on the patio. Alexis intends the 25-seat u-shaped bar to invite patrons to stay awhile. And a second floor will be available to reserve for large and private parties. “When my wife and 15 other moms want to go out, it’s nearly impossible to find a space in the Park Cities,” Alexis said. “We want to be the go-to for large bookings in the neighborhood.”" - Courtney E. The Ramble Room is a solid choice if you’re in the SMU area and looking for a place with good food, comfortable seating, and an energetic vibe. The service is friendly and attentive. Overall, it’s one of those places that isn’t my first choice of a place for dinner but I’m satisfied when I do go.

The food was served promptly, and the service was both efficient and attentive, reflecting a seamless dining experience. Despite being new, the waiter handled his duties with a remarkable level of competence and professionalism, making the overall experience feel polished and welcoming.

This restaurant is the perfect spot for brunch! From the moment I walked in, I was impressed with the inviting atmosphere. The food was delicious, each dish bursting with flavor. Whether you're there for a casual bite or a more refined brunch experience, the menu has something for everyone. I highly recommend this place for a girls' brunch or a family gathering. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between casual and upscale, making it great for dressing up a little. They even have a small indoor balcony that’s ideal for a cozy, intimate setting. Whether you’re sharing secrets with a close friend or enjoying a romantic date with your significant other, it provides a wonderful ambiance. The drinks were refreshing and flavorful, perfectly complementing the appetizers, which were the ideal starter to get the meal going. The main dishes were just as impressive, living up to the high expectations set by the appetizers. Whether you're enjoying a classic brunch dish or something a little more unique, you won’t be disappointed by the quality or taste. Overall, this restaurant is a fantastic place to enjoy great food, a relaxed yet stylish atmosphere, and delicious drinks. It's an excellent choice for any brunch occasion!

Google
Randomly picked this for dinner with a friend, and it did not disappoint. Casual dining, good food, great service, and it was a little noisy but with a name like Ramble🤷🏾‍♀️... I would definitely recommend it. The pasta dishes were awesome, and dessert was nice. Heard they have a nice brunch, so...😏 So.... Tried brunch and yum!

Google
Checked out Ramble Room on Friday evening. The place was packed. Definitely make reservations. We were seated in the upstairs balcony with a view of the entire restaurant, which was nice. There are a variety of items on the menu to satisfy any taste. The service was great. Items came out hot and quick. I chose The Plaza Burger, and it was delicious. The Fried Green Tomatoes did not disappoint either. Definitely get the Caesar Brussels! From the bar: I started with The Blackberry Bramble. Definitely got me right. Shoutout to the bartender. After dinner, I had The Cosmo. The Tito's is on tap, and it was nice and cold. It was a great evening. I'm looking forward to returning.

Google
This new American concept from the Imperial Fizz group occupies a great location in Snider Plaza in the ground level of the Hilltop building. The space really is beautiful, exuding that old-school, clubby vibe. The menu has a broad selection of classics, including salads, burgers, pasta, fish and steak. All of the food items we tried I would categorize as "good". They met our expectations, but nothing was outstanding. My only complaint would be the portion size on the Calamari starter was too small. Service is a little clunky, being great at times and then confused or inattentive at others, but decent overall. The restaurant isn't quite as good as similar offerings, but it may very well be the best restaurant in Snider Plaza, so it's worth a stop if you are nearby.

Google
Our first time to Ramble Room recently was fantastic! We had a reservation and were greeted warmly and sat immediately. Our server, Rose, was sweet and attentive! Our cocktails were great and came out very quick. Food was also delivered very quickly and everything we ordered was great! Atmosphere is lively! We loved it! We honestly can’t wait to go back!

Google
This was a really cozy and peaceful brunch experience. I brought a friend from out of town here and we enjoyed everything we had (salmon, rigatoni, & mushroom soup). The server was attentive as well. I came back the following day for take-out and didn’t find it as good as the experience of dining in (salmon was a much smaller portion size and was cooked harder than the prior day—I ordered and prefer medium). But I will definitely return to dine-in. It is a nice experience and the energy is great inside. They seem to really care about quality and it shows!

Yelp
Great drinks as a pre game before a big steak dinner. Cool vibe, good service, lots of positive energy at this restaurant!

Yelp
I learned about this restaurant/bar through my passport book, which allowed me to get a margarita for $1.01 when it is normally $15. Our bartender was very nice and greeted us immediately, and it was cool that he knew the passport book, which was nice because that was not the case to some of the other locations I visited. He made our drink and made small talk even though the bar was packed. The restaurant and bar was dimly lite, and it had a classy vibe. I'm glad I was a little dressed up because it is on an upscale side of town. Our bartender asked if we were going to eat and drink or just drink. We chose to drink because it was the last visit on a full day excursion. They offer appetizers, dips, soups and salads, pasta, burgers, and salads, as well as entrees. Prices ranging from $13 - $69. Free parking is across the street, you may have to park far depending on how busy the shops are and the time of day. I would go again if I was on this side of town. The drink was very tasty.

Yelp
We've been here a couple of times for weekend dinner as a couple. Overall a good place. Service - we had Ashley, a competent and friendly waitress Ambiance - cool mid century, upscale vibe Drinks - really excellent here Food -varies. Pretty good overall, but despite the heat lamps seem to dish up entrees on barely warm plates. Vegetable base arrives hot but protein arrives barely warm Wine - great selections. Stick to sparkling, Roses and whites. Reds are served too warm for discerning palates. Primary disappointment is the meats. My ribeyes was cooked to medium as requested. It had a good char, but was barely warm. The butter didn't really melt on it. It seemed like. "Choice" grade of meat as opposed to "prime." The charge for this piece was $69. Basically a Capital Grille price but quality was more like your neighborhood tavern. My wife's Barramundi (fish) was better.

Yelp
Food: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 4/5 Value: 3/5 ----- Overall, I'd say a great place I'll definitely be keeping in my rotation, but I do think their menu is somewhat hit/miss. I loved the sausage rigatoni, one of the highlights of our meal. But everything else was mostly good (tuna tartare, reuben) or very mediocre (I especially did not love the croutons in the tomato burrata). Delicious drinks, and they have a super fun cookies & cream martini. It's one of our favorite places to pop in for a quick drink if we're waiting on a dinner reservation elsewhere. Fun vibe, and great people watching (good date spot vibes!). Parking sometimes is challenging here at Snider Plaza, depending on what time you're trying to visit.

Yelp
Came here for a SUPER early dinner (5:15!) with friends in the middle of the week. It was a gorgeous Spring day, and my first observation as I walked to the restaurant entrance from the parking garage were the diners enjoying the weather on the patio area. Lucky bastards. ;) The interior is beautiful. Classy and modern without being stuffy. And we found out we had made it in time for happy hour, which ended at 6 pm. So drinks (I don't remember which ones) and appetizers were half off. I didn't drink, but my friends and I shared several appetizers: the Caesar Brussels, the Warm Ricotta Dip, and the Calamari. My favorite was the brussels, which was creamy and flavorful; any dish that can make me enjoy vegetables is a winner in my book. The calamari was the only so-so item. The squid pieces were fairly small/thin, and there seemed to be more breading than squid. My entrée was the Brick Chicken, and it was delicious. The chicken was moist, and the seasoning was just right (not too salty, not too bland). For dessert, we shared the coconut cake, which was also delicious... except for the fact that it was kinda frozen. Either that, or the cake was really hard for another reason (by design?). Finally, our server was attentive, friendly, and did a great job. All in all, a great dinner experience, and I would totally come back.

Yelp
Food wasn't bad. Nothing blew my mind away. Service and ambiance was good. Cocktails were good also. Had a reservation but we still had to wait a bit.

Yelp
Foodie Alert! If you're in the Dallas area looking for a new brunch sport, check out The Ramble Room! The food was AMAZING, and so was the service! I've never been to a restaurant that served food so quickly, with the presentation being spot on! The ricotta smoked salmon dip was so savory and flavorful, served with fresh, toasted buttery bread! I would have gotten a second round of the salmon dip, but I didn't want to be too greedy! The apple pie French toast was so delicious! Every bite has a piece of cinnamon crumble, caramelized apple, and candied pecan! And the seasoned fries literally tasted like a Lays bbq chip but in a good way! I definitely rate my experience a 10 out of 10!!! Drinks: Blackberry ramble, blood orange margarita, and pineapple mimosa. Apps: Warm ricotta & Smoked Salmon Entreés: Apple Pie French Toast, Crispy Chicken Sandwich, Brunch BLT

Yelp
If you're looking for a dining experience that is sure to please your taste buds, look no further than our meal at this amazing restaurant. We started off with the Crab Cake Salad, which was a perfect combination of flavors and textures that left us wanting more. The Plaza Burger and Italian Sausage Rigatoni Pasta were both equally delicious, with each bite being a burst of flavor that left us speechless. But the appetizer stole the show - the rich and creamy Ricotta dish was simply incredible and easily one of the highlights of the meal. And let's not forget about the drinks - each one was expertly crafted and perfectly complemented our meal. Aside from the incredible food and drinks, the service was exceptional. The staff were so helpful, friendly, and attentive, ensuring that our dining experience was nothing short of perfect. And the ambiance of the restaurant was equally impressive, with a gorgeous and inviting atmosphere that made us feel right at home.

Yelp
Everything was solid here. First time coming out for brunch with some friends. The servers were quick and helpful with our larger party. Had a warm-modern farmhouse like interior... Is the best way I can describe it haha I had the chicken sandwhich and it was delicious - crunchy, savory, and sweet. I would've given 5 stars but the fries were to salty and the cinnamon rolls were a little dry. Overall, had a great experience.

Yelp
I don't understand such low ratings on this restaurant because I quite enjoyed my experience at Ramble Room. It wasn't the most fantastic but it was still pretty good. I went with coworkers for DFW Restaurant week but actually ended up ordering off menu items. French onion dip was my favorite. The Asian chicken salad was good too but the chicken was a bit dry. The ambience was great and I wanted to come back to sit at the patio too when the weather gets cooler.

Yelp
One of the hottest places in the Park Cities! A great menu with an open and casual decor for the upscale neighborhood guests that frequent here. Parking is very convenient in the attached garage and once you enter you will instantly be welcomed by the well trained staff. Grab a drink at the bar located in the center and once seated try out their American cuisine menu. The tuna tartar is beautiful and the Rueben or Salmon are simple amazing. While the restaurant is perfect for families I would recommend leaving the small kids at home as it can get a little loud and lively with the bar scene. So if you are looking for a great upscale meal or just want to hang out at a lively bar, then Ramble Room is a great place to go in Highland Park/University Park.

Yelp
Just had brunch at ramble room and it was delicious. Started off with the cinnamon rolls for the table and they are spectacular with a lemon zest. Do not miss this. Next we had the smoked salmon and ricotta dip appetizer which was amazing. The blackberry bramble is a great tasting gin berry drink. They have Tito's on tap for ice cold martinis. The filthy and the vesper were both spectacular. Our server Fernando was very attentive and made the brunch even better. It's a very comfortable ambiance and classified as a place to dress up a little more than normal. The chicken sandwich was superb and the egg white frittata was gorgeous and tasty. The avocado and prosciutto Benedict could have possibly been missed but was not bad by any means. The corned beef hash was also a standout. Will be back to try more dinner items but RR is certainly a standout spot in snider plaza.

Yelp
Great place for brunch! I had the Plaza Burger (cooked medium), and was cooked perfectly. I had it with the Nitro Expresso Martini. Very good. Only issue I had was with the condiments. No barbecue sauce or hot sauce. Service was excellent, didn't wait long for food to be prepared and served (even on Father's Day) and great atmosphere for conversation.

Yelp
Great ambiance and service. Everything we enjoyed was delish but highlights were definitely the cinnamon rolls and cheesy grits- yuuuummm!
google avatar

Jessica M.

Yelp
Had the Caesar Brussels and the warm ricotta dip - the Brussels were terrible, definitely skip. The ricotta dip was fine but its also just bread and cheese, nothing special but doable if you need to pick something off the menu. Very cute spot but won't be back

Yelp
Will for sure be back. Drinks were amazing and the atmosphere is very cute for a date night! The food was good.

Yelp
Really liked this restaurant! I took my mom here and we both enjoyed the food. We started with the Caesar Brussel sprouts and Ricotta dip; both were very good! I had the salmon with wasabi mashed potatoes which were unique and tasty. My mom had the Plaza Burger which was delicious and different. The place is decorated beautifully with a classy ambiance. Service was kind and attentive.

Yelp
I am writing this after visiting a second time because I didn't want the first time to taint the review. The Good: The food is was good and I liked it, but nothing really exceptional that stood out from other restaurants of this range. It competes well though. The location and ambiance are great. The host staff was great too. Welcoming and friendly while being informative. The Bad: Where things fell down both times has been our wait staff. First time I was there we immediately ordered drinks upon seating, that didn't arrive for 15 minutes. Luckily we had drinks we carried from the bar before being seated. Ordered an appetizer, a different one came out after a while. Waitress took our order after correcting the appetizer. She seemed a bit frantic and impatient while at our table. About 8-10 pass and she walks back to our table asking us again what it was we ordered because she had forgotten. Not great. Then once the entrees finally came I'm guessing she went and took a break, because we didn't see her again for the next 30 minutes. Took another 15 to get the check. Subpar service to say the least. Wrote it off as just a one off. The next time we came back it was better, but not without issues. Still lots of bad service by our waiter then too. Delays, wrong items, but he didn't disappear on us or forget our order. So a little improvement I guess. While I live just blocks from there, these two experiences have altered if it's one of the spots we're open to when choosing a place to eat around here.

Yelp
Love the Ramble room! Brittany T was the best waitress!!! Super attentive and very nice! Get the tuna tartare and coconut cake highly recommend!

Yelp
Let me start by saying the service was excellent. Really really good. Such a shame that the food was just painfully mediocre. We had two appetizers as well as an entrée and I could've easily not eaten any of them. We had the ricotta, tuna, tartare, and the crispy chicken. None of them were particularly seasoned well, and had no complexity to any of them. The inside is a neat little restaurant and the setting has potential. They're really going to need to the game from a menu perspective though.
google avatar

Yelp
Ramble Room is a beautiful space. I went with a friend on a Sunday evening. I ordered the brick chicken. My friend ordered the fried chicken salad. She loved it so much that she ordered a second to go. Everything was delicious, our server was very attentive and helpful. I think we will be back when we can because we thoroughly enjoyed our experience.

Yelp
My husband and I went to celebrate my birthday and overall we enjoyed ourselves. I had the Plaza burger and fries. They were cooked and seasoned well. My husband had the Three Mushroom Fettuccine. He liked the entree, but it was small for the full sized plate. We sat outside in the patio. The table we were given was placed right outside of the awning so I didn't feel like we were in the mix of the patio ambiance. I think they should just remove the table. It would also be great if the Ramble Room added fans to the patio. Because of where the patio is situated, the heat just "sat there" and the whole plaza area blocked any air from blowing through the patio. We had good service. Only service feedback is that when we shared that it was my birthday, there was no birthday treat. We assumed that like any restaurant, there's always a small treat to celebrate birthdays.

Yelp
Ramble Room is no place for a person of color, especially a black person. I made a reservation for 3 on Father's Day, when we arrived the gentleman greeted us and instructed the host to seat us in the corner. His words "place the high chair where it won't be in the walk way". There was nothing wrong with that, as a mom and a person who works in service industry I understood his point. But when the host brought us to our table which was 5-7 steps away from the front door tucked away in the corner I had a problem. Not only was it secluded and out of sight, there were two black ladies in the same corner. Amongst the entire establishment indoor or outdoor there were 5-6 other two tops that we could have sat at. Yet they placed the only two black customers in a corner where we couldn't even enjoy the ambiance of the restaurant. Which quite frankly is why I personally picked it for Fathers Day. I hesitated, spoke with the ladies next to us for about 20 minutes. As time went on I realized not only were we segregated from the other White and Asian customers but it took a whole 20 minutes to get water or better yet 20 minutes to get service. Therefore my family and I walked out. I refuse to give my money to an establishment that doesn't treat all individuals equally. I will not be back and I do not recommend this place to anyone of color! Save your money!
google avatar

Yelp
first time visit; most likely the last. service was fine other than having to wave down someone to bring salt which btw was served in a condiment cup. rubin was good although $20 is a but much especially considering kuby's across the street has one for $10.95 and is way better. well i gave it a try.
google avatar

Mayra T.

Yelp
Calamari as appetizer is a MUST!!! Drinks are really good my favorite one was the orange margarita !!!!! And I got the burger which was great and the half order of rigatoni pasta I would say the sauce was very light so if you wnat a heavy sauce this ain't it.
google avatar

Scarlett B.

Yelp
Nice ambience and decor being it is a newer restaurant but the food and service are severely lacking. Often having to flag down anyone to refill basic drinks. Burgers are dense and dry, no juiciness to them at all. They try to add several sauces but it doesn't cover up that they just aren't good. Pepper is the spice of choice on most of the batters and food and it does not do well when pepper is the star of your food and you can't taste much of anything else. Not sure if it's worth a second chance and like most new restaurants in Dallas it will hold a crowd for a few months but I think the quality of the food and service will catch up with this one and they will wonder why they can't keep the doors open. Obvious by lack of wait on most days and times that it is already headed that way. Most other restaurants were packed in Snider Plaza but not this one. Guess that should have been a signal. Go ahead and try it once if you want but don't make it a special meal event.

Yelp
This has become one of my favorite places for multiple things! Lunch with girl friends, birthday dinner, friends in from out of town, happy hour with with the hubs, etc. I usually try to get a reservation, but sometimes I just walk in since it's right by our house. Our Favorites: -Classic Wedge, chopped and often split -Sausage Rigatoni, so much flavor!! -Plaza Burger, delish -Asian Chicken Salad, perfect for lunch -COCONUT CAKE, MUST TRY! -French 76, cheers -Call me old fashioned, always great -The decor, it's what a classy, yet cool restaurant should look like I am sure RR is kid friendly, but it's just the kind of place adults go to have a break from their own kids, unwind, and relax. (I have 3 kids - so I'm allowed to say this!) Also, the staff was very accommodating to my friend who is unable to have gluten. There were many options available - even the coconut cake (I believe) was gluten free. I wish they stayed open later, but since the pandemic no one seems to stay open past 10. *The only thing I'm not a huge fan of is being seated at the tables that face the kitchen. They're a bit too close together, plus it's a little chaotic and distracting for me to be right next to the kitchen. However, I always simply request not to be seated there, and the staff is always accommodating.

Yelp
Ambiance is the best thing going here. Very cute and perfect for instagram. Service was good too but the food was just ok. Had the salmon w grits and have had better salmon many other places. Take into account the prices, it's not worth coming back for the food. Came for lunch perhaps it's worth it for drinks at night.
google avatar

Milkey S.

Yelp
Not much to recommend other than the location and bar. Went for dinner with wife and son. Menu reminded me a bit of R&Ds. But the similarities ended there. I had the salmon with the cheesy grits. The grits are too creamy and the dish needs a spot of acid to break the monotony. I snuck a few peppers from the salad that accompanied my wife's halibut and wished it was present on my own plate. My wife, as mentioned, had the halibut special. The cook on it was so severe the outer layer was solid. Like a thick crust. Nothing like the halibut you'd get at Montlake cut or a better seafood place. We had the Caesar Brussels as a starter. Again, one note dish and cannot recommend. My wife loves Brussels but she stopped after the first bite. The place is built around a large bar and I suspect that will account for most of their business going forward. Can't recommend.

Yelp
This place has been open for six weeks and is only "buzzing" because it's currently a "see and be seen" hot spot. It'll be much quieter in six months because there's simply nothing memorable about it. All five of us showed up for our 7:30 reservation (which we'd made WEEKS ago) on time. Our table wasn't ready, so they sent us to the bar area, which was full, so we ended up standing awkwardly around tiny, wobbly bar tables. Waitress took our drink order, got 2 of 3 drinks correct, then took so long correcting the third drink that it was 8 pm and we were finally (!!) being seated. Even though we told her we were being seated, she dropped the check and busied herself with other customers to the point that most of our party had to go grab the table while two of us stood around desperately trying to get her attention so that we could pay the tab and go sit down. DRINKS: - "Filthy" martini is not actually "filthy" dirty, so don't worry. It was nice but not the best I've had. - "Where There's Smoke There's Fire" is a really nice mezcal cocktail, but it's not at all spicy. - Wines by the glass were fine. APPETIZERS: - Calamari was quite tasty but a VERY skimpy portion size. - "Warm" ricotta dip was way too hot and generally meh. ENTREES (yes, we all sampled everyone's, lol): - Salmon was overcooked (wtf!) and served on a pile of uninspired cheese grits. Be sure to read the menu carefully. It says "brussel leaves." Yeah, you get LITERALLY six leaves. LEAVES. Not even full (or half!) sprouts. - Three mushroom fettucine was quite tasty. Can't go wrong with cream and mushrooms. Option to add some very sad chicken on top. - Pappardelle bolognese was also tasty...almost like a deconstructed lasagna, with how thick the pappardelle were. - Crab cake salad was overpriced for the quality. A pretty average crab cake on a fairly boring pile of greens. - Lamb chops got two thumbs up, but I didn't actually get a bite of these. They looked well cooked. Waiter said they were the last ones available that evening...say what now?? On a Friday evening at 8:30 pm, you're already sold out of lamb chops on a menu that includes just four meat-focused entrees? DESSERT: Brownie was fine but nothing to write home about. Another reviewer described it as a "perfect execution." I guess theirs wasn't served in a searingly hot skillet without any way to hold it still while it slid around on its wooden base as you tried to scrape the overcooked brownie off the sides of the skillet? As we all dug in, we were constantly trying to keep it from sliding off the base, and many of us burned our fingers acting on gut instinct just trying to quickly hold it in place. The flavor was good, but DL Mack's has the better dessert brownie by a mile. In an interview with Culture Map Dallas, the owner said he wants Ramble Room to be "the go-to for large bookings in the neighborhood." But even with a reservation, our group of five wasn't seated until 30 minutes after we all had arrived on time for our reservation. Also, our waiter was happy to split the check but then messed it up three times in a row. So...I can't really recommend Ramble Room for a large group experience. But honestly, I don't think I'd go back even for dinner for two. We paid $150 for the two of us for an entirely unmemorable dinner of overcooked salmon and pasta with a couple drinks each.

Yelp
What a scam. Shrimp pasta had three shrimp. The absolute worst. Good for the Yuppie who thinks he is going to an "in place". Anyone else satay away

Adelaide K.

Yelp
First time at Ramble Room and it was a really good experience. The service was top notch. Our waitress, Allison, was very attentive and helpful with the menu. She offered solutions when we were having a hard time deciding. She also went through the menu with us beforehand and let us know her favorites/crowd favorites. The food itself was very good. The Brick Chicken was my personal favorite. The skin on it was so crispy and flavorful. I could skip the French onion dip next time - could get the same flavor from a prepackaged one at the grocery store (although I'm sure their ingredients are much better). The only thing you are required to get is the bread pudding. It was AMAZE! Will be back.

Thought the BLT sandwich was very good. As were the fries. Service was swift and attentive. Bathrooms were clean. Easy to get in and out.

Yelp
We went for lunch and the staff was great! Very friendly with great recommendations. If you get a pasta dish, get the half portion. It was the perfect amount for lunch.

Yelp
I've been a few times so this is a combo review as I can't remember what I ordered when. Cocktails - I love the Mezcal cocktail! It has smoke, heat and a little sweet. The blood orange marg is fantastic as well. Wine by the glass fantastic and reasonably priced. Apps - the tuna tartare is delicious! Swedish meatballs as well. I wasn't expecting to love them so much since I'm such a fan of Neighborhood Services meatballs but I have to say I liked these better. My fav though are the Caesar Brussels. Sauce is fantastic!! Entrees - I've tried several and fav has to be the sausage rigatoni pasta, the plaza burger and the crispy chicken sandwich. Lamb chops were also fantastic and the potatoes that go with them a perfect side. Dessert - can't go wrong with the brownie. It's a perfect execution. I really love the coconut cake but it's not as decadent as the brownie so I guess it depends on what you are in the mood for. Ambiance is fantastic. Service very smart. Favorite restaurant in Dalls right now.

Yelp
Dined at Ramble Room the first month that it was open. Nice vibes, excellent wait staff. Food was very good

Yelp
Service was so/so, the crab cake salad was overpriced and disappointing, but more than anything no one ever offered to validate my parking or share that as an option so it cost me $17.

Yelp
Not bad. Went there for happy hour last week. Lots of emphasis on the dominant ovoidal-shaped bar situated like the central command of a spaceship, only rustic. There's an inescapable Apple store concrete coldness to the place. Yet, also, somehow inviting? It's possible it was due to the friendly crowd that was mingling at the time. There's one TV tucked away in the rafters of the bar which subliminally encourages socializing, and it works. Dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives? Yes, please. However, the fried chicken sandwich had way too much dill and the fries were extra salty. It's bar food, which makes sense because it was part of happy hour, so that explains that, but in hindsight I should've tried the wedge salad as it looked particularly enticing. I'm sure there's a lot more to the menu, which needs an extensive deep dive to truly rate this one, but the overall first impression was slightly underwhelming in no large part to the furbishing, which was uninspired. With all that being said and done, I'll still give this place another go around to see if there's more than meets the eye; first impressions and all that.

Yelp
This place was so yum yum! I recommend it highly! It was great food, great service and amazing atmosphere.

Yelp
Decent drinks but there's too many tables so the staff can't really keep up. If you can sit at the bar I'm sure it's better. Worth checking out but for the price, expected more.

Yelp
I was so disappointed with my steak and my experience here. The service was slow. I got a steak knife half way through my meal. Overpriced. Portions small. The actual steak itself was tasty however. I do not plan on coming back.

Yelp
Beautiful ambiance and outstanding service. But even these two factors could not possibly make up for the abjectly disgusting food. Anyone giving this place 4 or 5 stars is either lying or hasn't ventured very far out into the world to eat. The "Ruben" is an affront to the delicatessen profession in nearly every respect. The french fries are cooked in a lovely oil mixture, yet deflate once bitten (think Christmas Vacation turkey) such that they actually turn chewy. The "ricotta" was thick and flavorless and essentially reminiscent of hot glue. It's accompanying bread was completely soaked in grease and tasted as if it had been purchased on a clearance special at a nearby Tom Thumb. The cauliflower mash had a bizarre sweet additive that couldn't be identified. Literally every single item we sampled was revolting in one way or another. In fact, the only thing that tasted pleasant was our obnoxiously overpriced bottle of wine. Yet, in typical Dallas fashion, locals inexplicably queue up like lemmings to snarfle up this hot garbage as if they were obtuse children clamoring for a shiny new toy. But there is absolutely no way on earth the hype will last with the abhorrent detritus being expelled from the kitchen -- and local history demonstrates that Dallasites will quickly (and inevitably) move on to the next new thing whenever this is the case.

Yelp
Owner Jon Alexis and team have created another wonderful dining spot. The food was executed well. The design is simple and elegant. The service was impeccable and memorable. Will definitely return and recommend.

Yelp
Uninspired menu, anemic flavors, and expensive. Service was ok but there are too many better options at this price point.

Yelp
We were able to snag a reservation during their trial opening, prior to the "official" opening. We had an early reservation (5:30) on a Tuesday, as it was the only time we were able to get. We arrived just after they opened at 5:00, as we planned to sit at the bar, have a pre-dinner cocktail, and surmise the atmosphere as they opened. They immediately sat us at our table, which was fine, despite being 30 minutes early. We told the waitress our reservation wasn't until 5:30, and that we just wanted to enjoy cocktails/wine for a while before ordering dinner. She completely understood and accommodated us. We had the Swedish meatballs and marinated tomatoes as appetizers, and both were tasty, although we both agreed the meatballs would taste better in a homemade marinara, but we understand it was a Swedish version with brown gravy. Still good. For our mains, we had the Italian Sausage Rigatoni and the brick chicken. Both were excellent. The only issue was the fingerling potatoes were a little undercooked (too firm in the middle), but we informed our waitress (nicely) so she could give feedback to the kitchen. I appreciated the fact that the management had a note on each table explaining that they were still in 'soft open' mode, and encouraged positive reviews on yelp, but kindly requested any constructive feedback be given to them privately.......a classy and professional way to request feedback from their first diners. What little feedback we gave them was well received and appreciated. Overall, the food, drinks, and service was excellent. Pricing was reasonable for both food and liquor, especially considering the neighborhood (we live just a few blocks away). The desert menu looked great, but we were too stuffed to imbibe. I noticed on the dessert menu they had listed after-dinner drinks, and was surprised to see Blanton's listed for only $18. I appreciate the fact they are keeping prices reasonable and not overpricing like many of the restaurants/steakhouses in the area. Will definitely come back for dinner, and will certainly plan to meet friends for happy hours here as well, as the bar is rather large and has lots of seating around it.

Yelp
Food and drinks were outstanding! It did take a while to be seated for our reservation and we felt slightly rushed by our waiter when we were done to get more people seated. Other than that, I would go back again and try more things on the menu!

Yelp
Thanks to Evan and Jennifer, I had an amazing dining experience. The decor is warm and inviting, while maintaining privacy. The music selection was awesome, I found myself table drumming at times (obviously, quietly enough so as not to disturb the other diners.) I started with the yellow curry mussels, and the sauce alone is something I wish my local Thai places could nail as well as this one was. Fresh, fragrant and paired with the somehow softest and crustiest bread I've had in a while. The sage sausage and bourbon cream sauce rigatoni app portion was just enough to leave me wanting more, but I had other plans for my stomach. The filet was perfectly cooked, rendered in beef tallow for that perfect texture. The mash was velvet and the asparagus was insanely tender. The Midtown manhattan and a glass of the Francois Martenot Pinot noir complimented my meal nicely. The coup de grace was the bread pudding with cream anglaise and the freshest blackberries I've had since I was a boy picking them off a tree. Overall, there was nothing even remotely mediocre about this place, treat yourself and your family/friends to this incredible place, and make sure you talk it up as much as I do.

Yelp
The food and drinks are great. I've tried almost everything on the menu and haven't had an issue yet.

Yelp
Went for brunch this weekend and overall it was ok. The interior is very nice with a big bar in the middle. Almost had a Houston feel with a lot more windows. Surprised it wasn't a little more crowded given that the restaurant has only been open for about two months. We tried: - Mushroom Bisque - good, pretty thick, but only luke warm. - Crispy Chicken Sandwich - very good, big piece of chicken - Brunch BLT - I probably wouldn't order this again. The bread had so much butter on it that the entire sandwich was greasy and the bread sort of soggy (I even got the aioli on the side. The fries were also extremely salty. We will probably try Ramble Room again, but there are a lot of other places in the area with much better food.
