"The new neighborhood restaurant from Jon Alexis of the Imperial Fizz dining group opens March 6 in Snider Plaza and occupies a 4,500-square-foot space with custom-built black leather booths, warm dark-wood furnishings, a horseshoe bar with an upstairs private room that looks down into the dining area, seating for about 75 inside plus roughly 50 on the patio. Alexis frames the concept as a purpose-driven, unpretentious Park Cities spot — a manifesto about neighborhood restaurants bringing people together — with a relaxed policy (no dress codes, no mandatory waits, accommodating to-go boxes, high chairs, incomplete parties, etc.). The menu, developed by culinary director Stan Rodrigues (with experience at Nick & Sam’s, Frontburner, Harwood Hospitality, and Flavorhook), leans on familiar American and international favorites: Swedish meatballs, Italian calamari, French mushroom bisque, steak frites, pastas and other Italian plates, wedge salad, fried green tomatoes, crab cake salad, brick chicken, grilled salmon with grits, and a Plaza Burger with gruyère and au poivre, plus desserts. The horseshoe bar is a focal point, offering a broad cocktail program and a martini menu driven by Tito’s on tap poured at a crisp 38°F (owner recommends a Vesper), a White Lotus–inspired resort punch, and a 50-bottle wine list with options under $50 up to splurge bottles. It will serve dinner seven days a week to start, with lunch and brunch arriving later in the spring." - Courtney E. Smith
