This place is pretty nice & cozy! They have a great deal when it comes to their lunch combos. The food was ready fast & was fresh as well. So I would say it makes a great lunch spot. I truly enjoyed the food & ambiance - not to mention the service. Our server, Janet was on top of it.

Google
Went with my friends and had a wonderful experience! I ordered both a tonkatsu and a Shio Ramen. The tonkatsu was delicious and perfectly crispy. The Shio Ramen was delicious, and I look forward to ordering it again! The funnel cake fries we ordered were amazing, soft, and warm on the inside and perfectly crunchy on the outside. Really good will also order next time! The servers were nice and friendly and really helped to create a welcoming atmosphere!

Google
Solid Ramen place in ktown Genuinely no complaints about anything here. Lunch combo is also priced fairly. I like how they do their rice :) good rice so get curry when you come. Will be coming back to this place soon 👍

Google
The service is great! Attention to detail, everything is clean, everything is cleaned up instantly, very pleasant communication! Also, the garlic ramen is extremely tasty! The pork is very well cooked! Plus, the price is great. To be honest, I would gladly go here even for a higher price. I highly recommend the place if you want to eat deliciously in a clean and quiet place.

Google
When in for lunch service. One other table at 12 PM Music was Techo music... The place was clean, but atmosphere was off. Food 2/5 Noodle was under cooked. broth balance was off, and Shrimp Tempura.... was cheap store froze bought one. nothing like the photo. One of worst tasting ramen from a Ramen specialty shop... As far as Ktown goes slurpin' ramen bar and Even Silverlake Ramen is better (I don't even like silver lake. Akira is ranked below.) Parking is a bit hard. I don't know who they paid to get 5 star reviews.... for such a new and empty place.... But it's not a 5 star ramen.

Google
You *have* to try Akira Ramen! The food, the vibes, the service—everything is absolutely amazing. Hands down, one of the best bowls of ramen I’ve had in ages! It’s like a warm, cozy hug in every bite. If you’re craving something delicious and comforting, this is the spot to be!

Google
The garlic chicken ramen was so good! Spice level 3 was not that spicy for a nigerian girl like me, but was still delicious. Janet was also the best! Love it here.

Google
Everything's perfect. Had a spicy chicken ramen and the flavour's wonderful. Bit worried because we're the only customers when we came, but the food turned out great! You def have to give it a try.

Yelp
Came here for their daily lunch special from 11:30-3 where ramen ranges under $15 for chicken ramen, pork shio, or pork shoyu tonkotsu ramen, and $18 for their yuzu miso ramen. For lunch you can have addons for an added cost like rice curry bowl, takoyaki, gyoza, karage, etc. I got the pork shoyu ramen which seemed like the classic tonkotsu broth. I also paid for the added spice for $1 more, and it definitely enhanced the ramen flavor for me. Portions were also generous where I was expecting them to skimp a bit for lunch special deal but they didn't! I actually really enjoyed the ramen and the thick tonkotsu sauce. The noodles were on the skinnier end which I prefer because it didn't get overbloated and had a nice al dente chew. Service was good. There's free parking lot as well. Overall, a good spot especially for lunch if you don't want to drive to Little Tokyo for solid ramen.

Yelp
I was craving ramen, so found this place near my home, decided to try it. The reviews are good, so I was expecting a good ramen. However, I really disappointed what I got. I had Chicken garlic ramen for to go, and the ramen had too much oil on the top, so I removed thick oil layer, and then tasted it, it was too salty, all I was eating was just salty ramen. After I had ramen, I was thirsty all night, keep drinking lots of water again and again. Even-though I was drinking lots of water, still I was thirsty. I really regret having the ramen there, it didn't give me any decent food quality.

Yelp
I got the lunch special with the Shoyu ramen and calamari and everything was super tasty the broth was rich in flavor! The service was timely and Janet was super helpful when I wanted a different sauce with the calamari (it comes with a spicy mayo). Thank you!

K J.

Yelp
Gray bowl of ramen had the classic and their spicy. Flavorful and not just hit spicy. Good amount and filling and tasty noodles Server was able to make recs based on our taste bud descriptions. She was patient and nice and attentive Small cozy place. About 10 tables with free parking and you're not rushed to finish your food. They have lunch combo specials which I like and it was not crowded the 3 times I've gone for lunch. My son got the pork katsu. He's picky and asks for it repeatedly. I took a few bites and dipping it in the curry sauce was delicious. Pricing fair. Not cheap but not expensive I prefer this over close by slurpin ramen

Yelp
Delicious ramen! We had the chicken ramen and garlic pork shoyu ramen! The ramen had so much flavor and I'm So excited this place opened up! Also; Janet was such a great waitress , super attentive and friendly . Will definitely be back

Yelp
Was there for Sunday dinner w/ my family. Was the 1st group there so was quickly seated and ordered. Nice and warm customer services and nice decor. The foods took abit of time to get out but it was good overall.

Yelp
Friendly customer service. The food came out very quickly and it was really delicious, the garlic was spot on The ambiance inside was very calm and soothing, another plus was that it was warm so you'll feel comfortable while you eat.

Yelp
Amazing cute new ramen place in Koreatown. I had the pork shio ramen and wife had the curry. Both amazingly tasty. Service by Janet was smiley , friendly and spectacular. They'll soon have alcohol license to offer beer, soju and sake. Right now, it's just "fake" beer (0% alcohol). Parking lot is shared with several other businesses so at peak hours might be tough. We also loved that they offer their lunch specials *everyday*!

Yelp
The spicy chicken garlic ramen broth is dynamite! It's savory, flavorful and well-seasoned with herbs & spices. The ingredients paired so well together -- the steamed and sautéed vegetables, egg, steamed seaweed, and the pulled chicken was the perfect texture in the broth. And Janet was a great server.

Sohwi S.

Yelp
Shio ramen was so amazing !!!! Above all, the server was so nice and kind to us!! I highly recommend here Akira Ramen

Yelp
I had a chance to check out Ramen Akira when it first opened, about 6 weeks ago and tried their fried dumpling appetizer and spicy garlic pork shoyu ramen. I enjoyed everything I had, the ramen was good but with all the different ramen places out there, I can't say it was my favorite. However, I'd definitely be open to going back once they have a beer and wine license. I prefer enjoying my ramen with a cold beer. Our server Z was amazing. He was super friendly and explained the menu well. They have a cute little outdoor patio that they blocked off and created walls so you aren't staring at the lot. The plaza has free parking and located where the old bibimbap restaurant used to be.

Yelp
Ramen Akira is a relatively new joint and they make a solid Ramen. I think they're novelty brings people through the door, and the staff will have to acclimate better to customers. They weren't rude by any means, but awkward and unpracticed for sure. The ambiance is good. I like what they've dine with the place. There's even a ln outdoor seating area that they've dressed up for al fresco dining. The ramen was solid. A tonkotsu broth with garlic and spice added in, nothing to hate there. The pork was... fine. Its not the succulent thick cut chashu that haunts me in my dreams but it wont live in my nightmares either. I'm very happy with how close it is to my front door and happy to have a ramen fix that doesn't require a drive out to Sawtelle.

Yelp
Came here when it first open and were the first customers. The waitress was nice enough to let us in as she was setting up. The restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. The dishes were awesome! We had the lunch special and we ordered the Yuzu Miso Ramen and the citrus flavor mixed with miso was unique. The portion was huge with proportioned toppings. It was great to the tastebuds. Our sides were shrimp tempura, calamari rings, and calamari tentacles. Each came out super hot and fresh. The sauces paired with each were matched perfectly. Definitely a place to come back to when in town.

Yelp
Just checked out this spot tonight to try the ramen challenge and let me tell you... it's much bigger than it looks and the noodles are never ending. The worst part is that it tastes so good that you don't want to stop eating it either! Overall, I'm very impressed. The spicy miso tonkotsu ramen level 3 had a nice level of spice (not too spicy) and a rich pork broth. The calamari was nice and crispy too. Servers are very nice and attentive. Overall, this is a really awesome, new spot to check out in Koreatown!

Yelp
I loved the pork ramen, was very flavorful, service was good. The only reason i am not giving 5 stars because we waited almost 45 min to get our food.

Soo S.

Yelp
My family and I stumbled across this gem. The menu provided food for all of my family's needs...spicy/non-spicy Ramen, dishes for my kiprefferdid not want Ramen and vegetarian options for my cousin. My favorite was the edamame, squid legs, calamari, and my Chicken Ramen. The service was impeccable. We came as a family of 17. I was impressed that our orders were correct and there was no titime lost. And, guess what....the restroom was clean. You can always judge the cleanliness of the kitchen and food by the cleanliness of the restroom.

Yelp
Wooow! If I could give a million stars I would. I found this place through Yelp and it did not disappoint. Arrived right when they opened and we were seated. The place is a bit small inside however outdoor seating is also available. The place is very clean and the decor is nice and upscale. Service is AMAZING the young lady was super nice and sweet. We shared appetizers, the gyoza and calamari were SO GOOD! I had the spicy pork ramen, with number 2 for spicy. I think next time I'll try 3. It was SO DELICIOUS! Can't wait to go back

Yelp
A new gem close to home!!! Broth is amazing!! One of the best ramen so far. Low key place and the service is amazing. Janet always takes care of us and gives us her feed back on menu specialties and recommendations. My favorite part of the restaurant decor is their wall of glass wear. Beautiful!
google avatar

Quenna L.

Yelp
The food was great and service was amazing!! I got the pork garlic ramen and it did not disappoint! Their spicy ramen truly is SPICY Love the interior design as well!

Yelp
If you want some Japan for dinner, pull up here. Prices are great, and the food is clean, the ambiance is lovely.

Yelp
We went at 3pm on a Tuesday afternoon. The service here is wonderful. No crowds and the interior designing was really nice. Modern and minimalist~ Very helpful suggestion for the menu We got the garlic pork ramen and chicken karate curry with gyoza as appetizer. All of them were really delicious. Parking is also available! Highly recommend giving this place a try!

Austin P.

Yelp
Great food and atmosphere. Service was wonderful! Inside was very clean and welcoming. There was also a few seats outside if you're wanted to eat there.

Catherine F.

Yelp
I've come here twice and I'm obsessed. The ramen is so good! I really like the garlic chicken ramen. The edamame is great too! It's very cute inside and there's free parking (in ktown?!) amazing! It hasn't been too crowded when I've been and the service is fast. Will definitely be back.
google avatar

Maritza R.

Yelp
The staff is very friendly and attentive. The food is so flavorful and does not leave u feeling heavy or bloated after. I enjoyed the texture of the noodles in the ramen and the ambiance was overall casual/ chill :) went during the soft opening 50% off the menu! Totally recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
Seriously some of the best ramen I've ever had in my life. Vibes are great, chairs are comfy and the art on the wall is crazy cool. 10/10. Kyra took great care of us.

Ashly L.

Yelp
Great find on a rainy day. Service was fast and friendly, environment was cozy, uhh they have a lot for PARKING without valet IN KTOWN unheard of. The food got the job done , can't complain. Will be back with family!

Yelp
The service is great and kind. A lovely place to relax to enjoy meals by your self or with company. The food is great. Great flavors, and how they prepair the meal makes you want to eat the whole thing. Would recomend the Shio Pork Ramen and make it spicy if it's your first time there.
google avatar

Pamela Q.

Yelp
Food was yummy I got the chicken ramen, bed got the garlic chicken ramen and it was slightly better than mine. Service was great and the area is cute.
google avatar

Yelp
My first time at Ramen Akira, the food was excellent! I had the Curry Rice & my partner had the Spicy Chicken Ramen. He said it was the perfect hint of spicy & flavorful. The Curry was DELICIOUS! I'll be ordering this dish again. Great customer service & the owner & our waitress Eleanor were extremely kind & made sure we had what we needed. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!
google avatar

Edric K.

Yelp
Ramen took a hour to come, when it did it was flavorless and not hot. The order was also incorrect. I've tried almost every ramen spot in the LA area, and this is firmly at the bottom of my list. Highly don't recommend.

Jessie L.

Yelp
Worst experience Ever - "Be Ready to Wait an Hour only for a Bowl of Ramen and takoyaki" I never gave a 1 star review on Yelp, but now, I can't stand this place. This was the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant! When we walked in, there were empty tables, yet the server told us we'd have to wait an hour, I even pointed out an available table, and she said we should still wait. Finally, we sat down and ordered. She asked what we'd like to drink, and I said just water. We waited for 15-20 minutes, and no water came, so I had to go ask for it. When she finally brought the water, she acted like I was never told her I want water. I asked how much longer our food would take, and she reminded me we'd have to wait an hour. I'm thinking, "Really? With all people -finished restaurant?" After more waiting, our food finally arrived, and she even said, "I prioritized this because of your request." I was speechless. Then, the shocker: she only brought one bowl of ramen. We ordered two. I asked where the second bowl was, and she insisted we only ordered one, claiming she even confirmed with us. Both my friend and I were stunned - she had never confirmed anything with us. I had clearly ordered two bowls. This place is ridiculous. If it takes an hour to serve only ramen, maybe they shouldn't be open. And the server was unbelievably insistent about things she never even said. Terrible experience. Don't waste your time here!

Yelp
This new restaurant's quality of food, ambiance, and service were outstanding! I will be back for sure for the broth. Ramen broth has its originality & I feel like I finally found an authentic Japanese ramen in Koreatown. Their katsu was crispy and so moist inside THANK YOU for free parking - it's definitely a huge plus if you live in LA iykyk!!

Yelp
Today was my first day at Ramen Akira but absolutely and definitely not my last time. I can't wait to come back. I started off with an appetizer, the deep fried gyoza. Delicious and plenty for two people, or three, as six pieces are in your order. Then I had the spicy pork shoyu ramen! Not too spicy that it overwhelmed the flavor of the tonkatsu broth but spicy enough to complement the ramen and make my nose run a bit. The pork was very tender and delicious as were the noodles. Karen was a wonderful server, very attentive and friendly. She was helpful in suggesting the spicy pork shoyu to me. It's a really great place, the decor and uptempo music playing was great. There is a parking lot which was not crowded at all, I arrived there around 5:00pm on Tuesday. Overall, great place for great ramen.

Yelp
I love the food... it reminds me of Japan!! My friend and I both got the lunch combo and it was so yummy! I tried the Spicy Garlic Pork Shoyu Ramen with a side of shrimp tempura and she had the soba noodles with a side of karage chicken and we shared. They have a cute outdoor patio area so we got to enjoy our lunch outside. Everything was delicious and their service was great. Can't wait to eat here again!

Danni Z.

Yelp
5 star for James the Server who helped me select a variety of Ramen choices. 5 star for cleanliness and dining design area , tables, and settings. 5 star for the Garlic Pork Shoyu Broth Ramen. 5 star price compared to other local places. I am glad they also serve non ramen dishes. Plenty of parking spaces. Conveniently located across from a large Grocery store.

Ryan Y.

Yelp
There was little options open, so we decided to give this a try. The service was pretty good, and the food was tasty. The Tonkatsu Curry Rice was worth it. $16 dollars for a huge plate of curry, rice, and the breaded pork. The Tonkatsu breaded pork was crispy and delicious. And the food arrived pretty fast.
google avatar

Yelp
We were in the area and searched up the closest ramen spot. WOW i'm so glad we found this place. This is probably my #1 ramen spot now. The broth is so rich and flavorful it's literally so delicious. The service was also impecable. Janet, you were so attentive and polite. We loved your service! We will be telling all our friends and we will most definitely be back
google avatar

Alfredo F.

Yelp
Crystal the server was extremely helpful and knowledgeable provided great suggestions. The flavors were bold and robust. Spicy level was not hot to the touch, however as you ate more and the flavors married one another you could definitely feel the spicy kick. Overall 10/10.
google avatar

Hernan L.

Yelp
One of my favorite ramen spots in LA! Immediately when you walk in, the ambience is so nice with good music and great service. Really recommend all of their ramen but especially with black garlic and spice added! It hits the spot when you want something comforting after a long day. The appetizers are so good too, especially the fried tempura and gyoza!
google avatar

Luis P.

Yelp
Great fast and friendly service! Z was great, had good recommendations, and was attentive. We had the spicy pork and garlic ramen, along with the gyoza to start. The portions were great, and the place is clean and welcoming. Also, it had a small parking spot, so that's a big plus! Highly recommended, come check it out
google avatar

Linh N.

Yelp
Give them a try. If you are craving for Ramen give them a try not too far from Downtown LA with a super cozy outdoor and indoor environment. Kiara'a service was outstanding will be back soon

Shemaine M.

Yelp
Ramen is really good! Generous portion of meat and noodles. Broth is consistent, it doesnt get too salty towards the end. It has a whole egg! Lol most ramen bars nowadays only give you half an egg. Service is great, friendly and fast. Ambiance is really cool and relaxed.
google avatar

Tim S.

Yelp
We went there with high expectations because they have excellent reviews on yelp , but the reality is not even close to what I expected Taste : it is too salty and overpriced Time : it takes 30mins to cook a ramen even there are 2 tables only included us Service: it is the only reason I gave them 1 extra star! server is super nice I don't know how they got such excellent reviews, definitely don't recommend it Tbh the instant ramen from market which is $2.99 is better than here
google avatar

KJ A.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I saw that this spot opened a couple of months ago and we finally went in to try it! The food was delicious! We got the deep fried gyoza, calamari, spicy pork shoyu ramen, and a spicy garlic pork shoyu ramen (pictured). Everything was so yummy! They have this cute seating area as well. We didn't sit there today, but we will next time the weather cools down. Inside they have super cool are on the walls. Overall the ambiance is great! Our server Janet, was so kind and very attentive. We felt so taken care of! We can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Attentive and friendly servers. We got the spicy pork ramen and spicy garlic pork(?). It was good, the broth was rich n flavorful. I like the thin noodles they use. The bamboo shoots and egg are soy marinated, yum. Wish there were spice levels but just my preference. Will be back. Good soft openin promo too :)
google avatar

Ashley L.

Yelp
Cute place, cool server, food was amazing. Had takoyaki, Spicy ramen, and the gyoza. The food was served hot and they were very quick. Parking was easy too. Really recommend this ramen joint. The waitress shared that a lot of their ingredients are imported from Japan.

Yelp
