Fremont East izakakya temporarily shutters - Eater Vegas

"Shinya Maru Ramen & Izakaya has decided to temporarily close until March to make interior upgrades and revamp the menu. Operated by California's Octopus Restaurant Group, it promises to return with enhanced sushi and ramen offerings. Initially launched in July, the restaurant is set to undergo significant changes to align more closely with the company's H2O Sushi & Izakaya concept." - Bradley Martin

Severely understaffed(she did great but was overwhelmed). Noodles were thin and not very good, broth was ok. Chashu was extremely thin and not very good

Google
Karaage Ramen was amazing! All the other dishes I ordered were great, too. Can't wait to go back and try tonkotsu broth Ramen. 2nd visit on 11/14.. had the opportunity to try the tonkotsu broth Kuro Ramen. It was just as good as the clear broth and the toppings were great, especially the soft chashu. The highlight was the new menu my companion tried. It had beef ribs in beef broth. That is a MUST try ramen!

Google
The Siro Ramen was great and so were the side dishes like takoyaki and fries! Also whoever’s in charge of picking the music for the restaurant, y’all have great tastes.

Google
Stopped in for a bowl and was pleasantly surprised. Good portion and great taste. The karaage was so juicy with a great fried chicken taste. Some of the best I’ve had in a while. I’ve been looking for good ramen in the bay and will definitely be back. Quick friendly service with a reasonable price :)

Google
Ramen Arashi is hands down one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in years. The food, of course, was phenomenal—rich, flavorful broth, perfectly cooked noodles, and toppings that hit every note. But what truly set this place apart was the service. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and made us feel so welcome from the moment we walked in. She went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, all with a warm smile that felt so genuine. She even spoke Japanese to me! The chef, too, came out to check on our meal, which was such a thoughtful touch. It’s rare to encounter people this kind and passionate about what they do. If you’re looking for amazing ramen and an experience that leaves you feeling cared for, Ramen Arashi is the place to go. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Google
Oh, boy, it was one of the best Ramen places I've ever been!!! I had the spicy garlic flavor; the soup base was incredible, the chatsu(pork meat) was tender and tasty, and the ramen noodle had great texture. Even the appetizers were outstanding: Chicken karaage and tacoyaki!!!

Google
Will revisit this after the food comes but first impressions are good. They also have a fun green tea IPA beer. . Ok, so yes, our food was awesome. Im excited to return. . Update, have returned several times when passing this way and always enjoyed..

Google
I went for lunch with one of my friends here. We had spicy miso ramen and monster ramen. I seldom leave a review but this time I really wanted to give ten star review. The owner lady was super friendly, and she makes the soup with pride. The price is not that expensive either. I will definitely come back!

Yelp
This ramen spot has a quick, fast-food vibe, perfect for when you're craving ramen on the go. The food comes out super fast, which is great for a quick meal. The owner is really friendly and adds a personal touch to the experience. They also have tea-infused water available near the counter, which is a nice, refreshing touch. The atmosphere is cozy and small, making it a great spot for a casual ramen fix. Overall, it's a no-fuss with a welcoming vibe!

Yelp
Weather was perfect for ramen and decided to give this place a try! SO GOOD. Small little shop next to the old Jamba Juice. Service was so fast and the owner definitely remembers the "regulars"-- they also have seasonal ramen bowls with this one being a beef rib one. Highly recommended! Also the spicy garlic edamame is spicier than your typical spicy garlic edamame.
google avatar

Maggie W.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday with a party of four and was immediately seated. I ordered the kuro ramen with edamame as my appetizer. My friends ordered the chicken katsu curry, siro ramen, and arashi ramen (monster ramen). The edamame was delicious, steaming hot, and seasoned with some flaky sea salt. The kuro ramen was so yumm, the black garlic oil added a level of depth to the amazing tonkatsu broth that had been boiled for over 15 hours! They did not skimp on the quantity of food in this, and there was a pretty large amount of bean sprouts that I wasn't a fan of (maybe 50/50 on bean sprouts and ramen noodles) so if this is an issue for you I recommend requesting to adapt your order to have more or less, depending on your preference. The chicken katsu curry was breaded so well, and the curry was very reasonably priced too! I'd definitely order this next time given the chance, the portion sizes and amount of protein you get is definitely bang for your buck. Come support a small business and try Ramen Arashi, you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
I went here on a recommendation of a colleague. It was really great. Super selection of ramen and good spice level when ordered that way. Really flavorful and quick service.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem for a small ramen place at a corner of the plaza next to ranch 99 market! I got the original shiro ramen that's light refreshing but rich that's paired with thin ramen noodle. I would definitely get this again since I prefer regular tonkotsu flavor over miso or shoyu. My partner got the Arashi ramen that's more meaty/richer and this is paired with the thicker ramen noodle. I personally prefer the shiro over this. We also got fried calamari legs and seaweed salad that are also pretty good.

Yelp
We have been in this family owned restaurant for years. I can comfortably upgrade them from a 4 to a 5 stars rating. It's still my go-to place for a delicious bowl of ramen, and perfectly made tofu and other side dishes. And of course, I won't be done with my ramen till I finish with the whole bowl of broth! The lady owner always come out to make sure our meal is on point, no matter how busy she is. Parking there is ample, since it is inside a shopping plaza.

Yelp
*LOCATION* This small ramen shop is located in the same plaza as the Ranch 99 asian grocery market. There's a parking lot (free) but it's usually hard to find a spot during mealtimes or weekends :( *WAIT TIME* My bf and I visited last Tuesday around 7:15pm. There were only a few tables eating at the time so we didn't have to wait to be seated. After we finished ordering, more people started trickling in. *FOOD* -Arashi shoyu ramen: broth was light and flavorful, noodles were a good consistency, pork was tasty, yummy scallops and toppings -Kuro (black roasted garlic oil): thick and full-bodied broth, good amount of toppings *SERVICE* The waiter was friendly and brought waters out for us right when we sat down. It also didn't take long for our ramen to come out. *AMBIENCE* This cute little shop has some nice décor inside. I love the modern light fixtures, wood accents and the big wall with various anime characters. It's definitely the right place for a bowl of ramen on a cold day!
google avatar

Ivy C.

Yelp
* BEWARE COMING ON THE WEEKEND. GETS HARD TO FIND PARKING Service was quick and also friendly. Ramen itself was truly authentic and tasted so good. I got their black garlic ramen. I'd say if you're craving ramen, this place will satisfy it. This place doesn't include an egg for you though. I thought the amount of food for the price point that gave was enough. They even have a ramen that is worth $13, so you can get something real quick for something cheap of such high quality. I wish the roasted pork slices provided were just alittle bit thicker since I thought it was pretty thin. Other than that, great place!
google avatar

Yelp
Pretty sure this is run by real Japanese staff, they speak the language and I don't mean a simple "welcome" with drumroll type of thing. Not sure why it took so long to visit here, perhaps it's the food court next door at 99 Ranch. A pretty small but straightforward menu. The dry ramen is a nice choice from the regular miso or spicy soup base most places serve. It is dry so be ready for that...I ended up taking about 3 spoons of soup from my partner's bowl but mixing it all together, I'd get this again. The Arashi special is also equally pleasing to the eye and tummy. Was really quiet on a Saturday lunch hour, maybe they do a lot more business around dinner time but it's a nice place to hang out solo or with friends, or a small family. High chair available :)
google avatar

Karrie L.

Yelp
There was no wait on a Friday night. The restaurant is clean and spacious. Parking lot share with 99 ranch market so there was no problem finding parking. We tried the arashi ramen, miso ramen and the curry beef. Overall all dishes met our expectations. The miso ramen is on the salty side so you might want to choose another soup base if you don't like it being too salty. We will probably come back to try other soup base ramen.

Piyush G.

Yelp
Amazing food. We went there after mission hike and were really craving beer and good food. This place hit the spot. Ramen, katasu curry, gyoza, calamari were great. Chicken karage can be skipped, too big pieces for karage. I have never had that big pieces for chicken karage. The hostess was really nice to us as well. They have Japanese bottle beer for grabs
google avatar

Chris S.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this spot more than I did. The restaurant itself is small and cozy, the anime art on the wall was a nice bonus. The server was extremely welcoming and reminded me of the service I received while visiting Japan. I ordered gyoza and the Aka (spicy) ramen. The gyoza came out hot and had porky flavors which I enjoyed very much. However when the ramen came I was slightly disappointed. The broth was slightly lacking in flavor and richness, it had some saltiness and some richness but I was looking for more. My other complaint is completely my fault so take this one with a grain of salt. The ramen had a giant pile of bean sprouts on top which isn't an ingredient I prefer in my ramen. This is my fault as I didn't read all the topping that's came with the Aka ramen. I will give this place another try in the future because of the woman's hospitality but I will most likely order something else and be sure to check if it contains bean sprouts which I will politely ask if they can not include into my bowl. All and all this spot is worth trying out and seeing if you like the food.

Yelp
Yum!! This place is a hidden gem honestly!! If you're in the area, check it out!! The owner is actually Japanese :) The broth is sooo good, the noodles are delicious and the minced pork in the KURO black ramen is a great touch. Can't wait to be back and try the rest of the menu!
google avatar

Yelp
Come here for the maze soba! This soupless ramen is rich in flavor and comes with a variety of toppings. While it doesn't sit in a pool of ramen broth, there's a bit of residual umami oil from the ground pork that coats the chewy noodles. All the different textures from the noodles, meat, scallions, and other veggies collides into this dish. It's almost like a ramen meets a stirfry. It's a unique dish that not many ramen shops have on their menu and keeps me coming back here. I also tried the Arashi Ramen aka Monster Ramen that my bf ordered. The broth has a very strong flavor that's very porky and almost find of fishy? It wasn't my favorite but I loved the mountain of thinly sliced pork on top. It was so soft and literally melts in your mouth. There's also sweetness from the cabbage and chopped garlic throughout. We also shared their Ikageso Karaage (calamari) which was battered and fried really well. Large pieces of squid with a light seasoning. This comes with a small side of spicy mayo and a shaker can of togarashi powder. This spot has a cool collage image of popular anime and manga characters inside and jpop playing over the speakers. It's located in the warm springs plaza where 99 Ranch is and has decent parking.

Yelp
I went with a classmate and when we were sat down we were told to pay first . We noticed other customers were paying after they ate their meal . They discriminated against us and that's not okay . You can't pick and choose who pays first and who doesn't . Have a set policy ! Also the curry wasn't even good on top of that . The chicken was too thick . The lady was asking me if everything was okay and I told her what I thought and she was being passive aggressive. She then proceeded to talk bad about me in Korean . I understood what they were talking about . If you can't handle criticism you shouldn't be in the food industry.

Yelp
2/25/23 Dinner "True love is hard to find, good ramen is even harder." We were pleasantly surprised to find pretty good ramen at Ramen Arashi. Our only regret is that we were so hungry we overlooked adding eggs to our ramen. We started with the calamari. Their portions are small but it was packed with flavor. I wish more ramen places had this. I got the Kura Black Garlic Ramen and my husband got the Aka Spicy Black Garlic Roasted Ramen. Both broths were rich with flavor and delicious. I did not care for the plastic take-out spoons. They should really upgrade those ASAP. The pork charsu was sliced too thin for my liking, but I did like the ground pork they added. Small place, cute decor, terrible parking but great customer service. I'll be back.

Yelp
This was my first time visiting Ramen ARASHI. I drove out to Fremont to have lunch with a couple of my coworkers. The ramen itself, the noodles, the flavor of the broth, the meat - 10/10. I had the Spicy Miso Ramen which was delicious. I started to get full but couldn't stop eating! The perfect amount of spice, everything was almost perfect. I removed a star because the meal was missing the tradition egg and also didn't have corn. Our server was also quite unfriendly. Despite this, the ramen was definitely worth another trip.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I went here on a Friday night for dinner, and we're glad that we found this hidden gem! The interior was fairly clean, and they have a wall that is decorated with various anime characters and have anime music playing in the background as well. We're both huge anime fans, and were excited with naming the characters on the wall and trying to guess of what song was playing. When entering, we were seated right away by the waitress and she gave us our menus. It didn't take long for us to pick which ramen to choose from, and which appetizers since we already had an idea of what to order since we looked at the menu ahead of the time. Our orders didn't took about ten minutes to come out, including both ramen and appetizers. I really enjoyed the scallops- they were flavorful and they provided a good amount of them. My miso ramen was great as well, and it really satisfied my ramen craving. My boyfriend also enjoyed his spicy miso ramen, and it had the right type of heat where it was both flavorful and spicy. With other past experiences, most places would focus on packing in heat to the point where it was too spicy and unbearable to eat. But personally, I think that Ramen Arashi had the right type of balance between the two. Lastly, the takoyaki was good as well. Just don't make the same mistake that I did with just taking a quick bite when it first arrives because temperature wise, it is pretty hot. Ramen ARASHI had great customer service, interior was nicely decorated, and the food hit the spot for a cold day. Also, one little note to keep in mind is that they do not serve hot green tea. They only provide a bottled green tea. Will be coming back again once I am in the area to try their rice plates next :)

Yelp
We came here on a Friday night close to closing time. Things were a little slow inside, and we got seated and attended to quickly. Ambiance at this time was not the best, due to how empty the restaurant was and the warmth setting of the lights. However, food arrived very quickly and everything was generally very tasty. We ordered Gyoza 8/10 - the gyoza was very light and crispy and paired well with the dark vinegar provided. Overall it was very tasty. Would have liked a couple more since we were sharing between two people, but it still hit the spot. Scallop Garlic Butter Yaki 7/10 - my boyfriend liked this item more than me, it wasn't heavy at all and tasted nice with an extra squirt of lemon. Clear Chicken Ramen with Ajitama 9/10 - we both ordered the same item, and since we both prefer lighter broths, we decided to try the clear chicken broth. The clear chicken broth was amazing and tasted both light and flavorful. Ramen noodle portions were generous and the toppings it came with added the perfect kick.

Yelp
I did a to go order. This place is so cute. It is a small restaurant. I ordered the spicy miso ramen no pork. I wish they had shrimp but they didn't. The flavor was so good. The noodles were cooked perfectly. I'll definitely be back to dine in. The service was great and the lady was really nice.

Yelp
MENU AND FOOD: Ramen ARASHI offers a selection of ramen, mini rice bowls and appetizers. SERVICE AND ATMOSPHERE: Service was quick and efficient. Their indoor decor was appropriate and appealing. They only have indoor seating. PARKING: Located in a shopping plaza, they have plenty of parking. IMPRESSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS: We had their spicy miso and shiro ramens and ikageso kaarage. The two ramen soups were just ok and came with different noodles to our surprise. The ikageso kaarage was tasty, but came in rather a small portion. Overall, it was a pretty average ramen experience.

Yelp
A close second to Ajisen Ramen that closed due to covid...broth very creamy and flavorful...ordered the kuro garlic ramen, regular arashi ramen and the "monster spicy" arashi ramen...I really like the garlic flavored broth...beware lots of bean sprouts in the monster...all good tho...definitely our new go to ramen place

Yelp
So when I went home to visit my parents, my mom had a craving for Japanese food. In particular, she wanted some Japanese curry. But she didn't want the typical chicken katsu curry, she wanted beef. Since I don't live in the Bay Area anymore I didn't really know new restaurants around, I pulled up good ol' Yelp to find where the best place nearby was to have this beef curry. Ramen Arashi was one of the first restaurants that popped up. We went at opening at 5:00pm (closes between lunch and dinner) and we were the only ones there. The waitress came and took our order very quickly. My mom, of course, ordering her Japanese curry (gyu curry) and I went with the maze soba. Maze soba has been my new recent obsession and I was happy to see this on the menu. First, my mom's gyu curry. It was a little too sweet for her taste, but to me, it was fantastic. It wasn't oily and the meat was cooked perfectly. I do wish it had slightly more beef for a better beef to sauce to rice ratio. Onto my maze soba. I'm not used to having so much on top of maze soba (two different kinds of onions and mung bean sprouts along with the meats, seaweed, and egg), but it was delicious. The flavor was on point and the egg was cooked well. I had leftovers which I took home and had it the next day. Honestly, it was better the next day. I'm guessing it's because the noodles were soaked more into the broth flavor. Amazing. When I visit my parents next, I would go back here again if any of us had a Japanese craving. Their tonkatsu broths and rice bowls look really good too. The restaurant shares a huge parking lot with 99 Ranch. No trouble finding a spot. Check the place out. It's clean, it tastes good, and hassle free. Thanks Ramen ARASHI for a fantastic meal.

Karen D.

Yelp
vegetarian miso was sooo goood. Added chili miso and it was delicious. Need to go again asap!

Muen S.

Yelp
It was a cold Friday night, so we stopped in at ARASHI. We had the fried octopus appetizer, which was fresh and delicious. Then, we had the miso ramen and the spicy miso ramen with a soft-boiled egg. The soup flavoring was great and the noodles were cooked just right. The service was quick and friendly. We were shocked that it was not more packed on a Friday evening.
google avatar

Shaun J.

Yelp
Ordeeed the Spicy Miso Ramen. No is Alice level without overpowering. Broth flavor is great. Poor is very thin and flavorful, though I prefer the traditional Porto belly over the loin they do here. Would come back!

Linda A.

Yelp
Authentic ramen in the Bay Area! We ordered the white ramen and miso ramen, both come with broth that is so yummy and rich. On the noodles itself, the one with white and miso are different, not sure if there is choices of noodles, may request next time. We also ordered fried calamari as side, which was good. Will definitely come back.
google avatar

Leslie L.

Yelp
I always come to this plaza for 99 Ranch but never ate here surprisingly! I wanted Japanese curry this day but KoKoLo Donburi in 99 Ranch was closed. We arrived around 6PM and there was only one other party in the restaurant so no wait! Service was quick and easy. They still use disposable utensils as the other reviews mentioned but it didn't bother me much. It was a bit difficult to unravel since they taped the napkins so I actually ripped mine on accident. My friend and I ordered katsu curry and aka ramen. While the curry was ok, I thought the ramen was pretty good, which makes sense because this is a ramen shop so I should not expect them to specialize in the curry. It was a good casual meal and the price was reasonable. The decor and signs are all anime themed so it's super cute! I would come back for a casual ramen dinner for sure.
google avatar

John L.

Yelp
You NEEF ask for an egg. Wow! It takes the food to another level. Two Korean ladies are so sweet and nice. When you ask for Coke, pronounce it Kohk "콕" LOL. Kidding aside. Spicy Ramen is not too spicy. So, you can truly taste authentic Pork broth.
google avatar

Tasha H.

Yelp
Had a nice lunch here and enjoyed the Tom lotus ramen. The broth was flavorful and rich, and I really like the veggie toppings. Shiro ramen comes with woodear mushrooms, bean sprouts, and menma aka seasoned bamboo shoots. I really enjoyed all the veggie toppings. The chashu was sliced quite thin and I think was less exciting than the veggies. The group pork is quite tasty though. I recommend stirring it into the soup to warm it up to the same temperature as the ramen. The noodles used are the thinner, straight variety. The broth had more oil floating on top than I am used too, I think I would prefer it to have less, but overall I really enjoyed the ramen!
google avatar

Kaz Y.

Yelp
I got to say it was impressive looking ramen. Tasted pretty good, but.... The noodle was too short... Does not pick up the soup.... Not sure if cook messed up in process of boiling it or cutting these noodle for non-slurping people, so they can eat without slurping it or pick up the noodle without making mess. Regrettable to give 3 stars, but just being honest. Hope this helps for serious ramen lover..

Namphil J.

Yelp
Amazing rich flavors. 5 stars deserve. Will be my best spot with friends. Good location between 680 and 880.

Yelp
Ramen Arashi is a nice small ramen eatery where the service is good and the staff friendly. My sister ordered a few appetizers to sample. Arashi Fries - 4/5 These fries were definitely Asian in taste. The fries were coated in a sweet soy/garlic sauce which was very tasty. Here's a pro's tip for this selection... you need to eat the fries while warm or they will harden when cooled off. Goyza - 4/5 The Japanese dumplings were fried perfectly. The fillings tasted ok. I've has tastier Goyza at other ramen restaurants, but these tasted good. Karage chicken- 5/5 I liked how these were made. The coating were crisp and you can hear the crunch when you bit down into the piece. The breading and sauce were flavorful. Shiro Orginal - 3/5 The broth was average in taste. I've tasted more flavorful pork broth at other ramen eateries. The pork was water thin and no soft boiled egg. There was a small pile of grounded pork in the middle for presentation and there was condiments that tasted more like Chinese flavored condiments than Japanese. I'll need to try Arahi's Shoyu ramen and update my review then. Shoyu ramen broth is very standard and basic.
google avatar

Shefali M.

Yelp
I would give this place a 3.5. I liked the flavor of the ramen broth (I got the aka spicy garlic oil) but it was way too salty. I would not order this again only because of the amount of salt in it. We also ordered the spicy edemame, which was fantastic! It had a charred/smoky flavor which was different and flavorful.

Andrew K.

Yelp
Caution portions are massive! Spicy maze soba and takoyaki also pictured, flavor on point

Yelp
Delicious!!! Very rich broth and amazing noodles. Easy parking and spacious indoors. Great service. I highly recommend!

Yelp
My wife and I was in the area one day and recently tried this little hole in the wall, family-owned restaurant. Ever since then, it has been our go-to Japanese ramen place. It is by-far the best in the Fremont/warm springs and quite possibly one of the top japanese ramen restaurants in the whole bay area! We have tried their shiro Original & kuro black garlic roasted ramens, their chicken karaage and also their chicken katsu curry. I would recommend asking for less salt when ordering ramen, especially if you like to drink the soup like I do. At this point, I would recommend everything in the menu, it is most likely going to be good. So if you're into Japanese ramen like I am, give this restaurant a try! The ambience/Environment is quite peaceful as well (no loud obnoxious music), the anime artwork on the walls is impressive. All a huge plus for my wife and I! We will keep coming back :)

Yelp
If you are looking for ramen in this area, i would say go to this spot. There are only 3 ramen spots closeby. This spot, shiba ramen inside ranch 99, and another ramen spot down mission blvd. In terms of taste this one is the best one. There are some things i do not like about it. Such as the very thin noodles they use or the dry/rough meat that comes with the ramen. With all that said, it is a decent ramen. Personally, i would only go there if i was in the area. It is not a place i would seek out to try.

Clara L.

Yelp
Wow. The Kuro Ramen is just perfect. The broth is so rich and delicious and the garlic taste is strong but not too overpowering. The noodles were thin and slightly chewy-- my favorite kind. The pork was thinly sliced but super long, so every bite was like butter. Plus the cucumber salad was super refreshing! It has a pleasant miso flavor and an amazing crunch. Perfect for the summer. The portions were good and filling, the restaurant was clean and inviting, and the workers were very friendly. Definitely the best ramen place in the area.

Stanton L.

Yelp
Small place that's cozy. Plenty of parking. Ramen is excellent. Had additional menu items that I'd like to go back and try the next time I'm in the area!

Yelp
Bomb Ramen the best in Fremont. Tried the butter scallops and the octopus. Tried the Aka ramen excellent l. Graice is an amazing host. Warm welcoming atmosphere

Yelp
My friends and I came here because I was craving ramen and found that this place was close by. We came during a Monday afternoon and we walked into an empty restaurant. I don't know why, but they seated us in the very back corner even though the entire dining room was empty. They also left the front door open all day (a detail that will be vital later). I ordered the shiro original ramen while my friends ordered the Classic Tonkotsu, all with an extra egg that costed $1.75 (which was much more expensive than we thought it would be) Our food took a while to come out (again even though we were the only ones. The portion size looked alright, and the toppings looked decent, but I didn't really like the ramen noodles themselves and the broth was really salty. The only thing that I really enjoyed was the egg as the yolk itself was still runny and bursting with flavor. Unfortunately though, we had to pay extra since it wasn't included, but if we ever came here again, we would def order that egg again. Now onto the part to explain why I only gave this place a 2 star review. As I stated above, the ramen noodles weren't really that good and the broth was salty. Also all the toppings were cold (like fresh out of the fridge cold), which really cooled down the broth when we dunked it under in order to warm it up. Another thing was that since the front door was open all day, there were a bunch of fruit flies just flying around the restaurant. At least 3 flies flew straight into my friends bowl of ramen while another 2 flew into my other friends bowl. One was about to land in my bowl but I killed it before it got the chance to. It really made us question whether or not we should ask to get it replaced or not but we ended up not asking because we are socially anxious people and the workers were even paying attention to us. Oh and they had plastic utensils, mot even soup spoons so you couldn't even enjoy the broth as much and I wasn't going to put my mouth on a bowl that may or may not have had flies walk all over it. If only the food was actually good, we would have come back to this place, but between the cold toppings and the flies committing suicide into our soup, I would never come back to this place unless they change some things.

Joanne L.

Yelp
I genuinely love this place so much it has some of the best dry noodles in Fremont! Currently, this is my go to ramen spot and it's super convenient to just grab a nice meal then do some grocery shopping. Not only is the food bomb but the chef is the nicest person and if there aren't too many customers she will personally come out and talk to you which made my experience so much more enjoyable! The food also comes out pretty quickly which is great. They don't have that much seating and it feels very cozy.

Yelp
I came right before they closed the lady that was here was extremely nice and it was very quiet which I really enjoyed...peace and quiet. The food was really amazing I had the arashi ramen. It was the perfect amount of food and the flavoring was on par with ramen Nagi most definitely a hidden gem. As far as the setting of the inside of the restaurant it seemed very simple and made me feel very comfortable. Anime music in the background and the more was a walk of anime characters which was really awesome. Overall my experience at arashi ramen was a 10/10!

Yelp
Good ramen place, it's small in south fremont but the ramen is great and it's often not crowded so you can eat easily without waiting too long. Got the shio ramen and loved it. The broth was good, noodles were nice and chewy, and there were plenty of ramen. The crashing was also thin sliced and not too thick like it should be. I would try the Arashi shoyu ramen next time, it looked good especially with the scallops. Chicken kaarage portions a little smaller than other places but it tasted good, my only feedback is it needed more mayo on the side.

Yelp
I placed my order online and ordered silo ramen and takoyaki. I received an email confirming my pickup and that my order would be ready by 12:18 PM. I went in to pick up my order shortly after that and it was ready, but never received any kind of notification that my order was ready for pickup. The broth and ramen were packaged separately so that the ramen wouldn't get soggy. The broth was still really hot when I got home. It was pretty flavorful and delicious but I feel that it was a bit saltier than I would've usually preferred. They're pretty generous with the chashu slices and the portion was pretty big. Takoyaki was yummy as well. All in all it's a pretty decent ramen place in Fremont if you don't want to trek too far. There's 2 tables for outdoor dining if you don't want to do takeout.

Yelp
The aka (spicy roasted garlic) is a winner. It has a nice heat to it but not overpowering

Yelp
2/5 I'm really picky with my ramen, and I've had A LOT of ramen in my life and well, this one isn't one I would choose to come back to. Food: 1/3 I got their Siro Ramen and it was okay. My fiance got the Aka, and she said it was okay. The flavor for mine was okay, which is why I gave it a 1 instead of 0, but it wasn't very memorable. The pieces of pork were very thin and didn't add much to the ramen other than just some protein to eat with the noodles. What was NOT good was the Karaage. I do not recommend. It is pretty much popcorn chicken that you get from Boba places, except it isn't as good. My fiance and I usually finish this small appetizer but it wasn't good so we took it home to try to salvage it. I had some frozen chicken strips with it and I enjoyed the strips more, so if that's saying something, then yeah. Service/Atmosphere: 0.5/1 The place was pretty clean, and there was a nice feature wall with a punch of Anime characters on it. What was weird though was the use of their spoons. They weren't soup spoons, but instead, they were these straight, circular single use plastic spoons. This makes it really hard to scoop up the broth. The water was placed out as well so you can go get it yourself. I didn't try to ask the waiter for a refill, but I read that the water was self-service, so I just did that. I didn't knock points off for that. Value: 0.5/1 Each of our ramens were I think between $13 and $14.50 each. and the Karaage was $8. The karaage was NOT WORTH IT. The ramen was an okay size, and for the price, I think was pretty reasonable, but again, because I didn't enjoy the food enough, I don't think the value was quite there for me. In conclusion, this place does NOT meet the Best Test and I will be trying another place next time.

Yelp
BROTH BASED There is a saying in cooking. It is not about taking the most difficult recipe and making it simple but doing the simple really well. As with pizza the foundation is very important. What is the foundation in a soup - the ingredients or broth? For me it's the broth, which is why I enjoy ramen. Most ramen eateries I noticed that the shoyu and tonkotsu broth almost look the same. The shoyu broth has a clear, dark-brown color while the tonkotsu broth has an opaque, light-yellow color. There's nothing wrong with either broth but I do prefer the shoyu broth. All I want to know is the difference. What I liked about the menu of Arashi is that there are sections of the broth - Rich Tonkotsu Broth and Clear Chicken & Pork Bones Broth. The shoyu was in the clear broth while the tonkotso had its own section. This could help someone who can decide what type of ramen to order based on the broth. About two months ago I placed an order through DoorDash for delivery. I am becoming a ramen addict. When I received the shoyu I was delighted to see the dark brown color. How was the taste? There was an umami taste to of the shoyu broth. Three days later through DoorDash I ordered ramen from the tonkotsu section - the Shiro Original. The broth for this ramen had a creamy taste that was enjoyable. Hence why this ramen was categorized in the rich broth section of the menu. Even though this ramen had a creamy texture the ramen wasn't heavy. The Shiro Original had ground pork that flavored the broth. Preferably for soups I like to have whole cuts or slices of meat. About four days later I ordered the miso ramen, which was categorized in the clear broth section of the menu. The broth of this ramen with its slightly salty texture had a refreshing taste to it. As with the Shiro Original the miso ramen had ground pork. Even though the miso ramen was in the clear broth section you can see the color difference of that broth and the broth of the shoyu ramen. Out of the three ramen dishes I ordered from Ramen Arashi my favorite ramen was the shoyu. Seeing the difference of each broth is all I ask for when I look at a certain ramen I plan to order. I don't want to see a broth of a shoyu ramen that looks similar to a broth of a tonkotsu ramen. If you want to know what kind of broth of a certain ramen the menu at Ramen Arashi is organized in a way you decide what ramen to order.
