"Yet this isn’t the first time one of his brick-and-mortar locations will close: Shimamoto opened a restaurant called Ramen Co. in the Financial District in 2014, as well as one in Los Angeles, but both have since shuttered." - Carla Vianna

If your name is Ramen, your ramen better be good. I was so excited when this place opened. I was expecting pricey. I was expecting wait lines. I was expecting decent ramen (not the burger). I got the wrong 2 out of 3. First the noodles. Not the springy slightly chewy noodles you expect. Second the broth was as others described it, oily, but it wasn't really flavorful. I'm not sure if they expected you to season it to your taste since they had many condiments available. This was a major disappointment-and I've been to several good places in midtown. And to top it off, it was expensive. I rarely give out reviews less than 3, but this was just that bad.

I definitely wish they had a larger menu and larger burger but the ramen was really good. I've been here twice so it's worth it. The first time I came I got the Brooklyn blend with pork and thought it was a little too salty but still thought it was really good to come back to. The second time I went, I got the chicken yakitori burger (small burger) and I also got the Brooklyn Blend with pork (with egg this time :D) and it wasn't salty AT ALL and everything was just heavenly. I'm not too big of a fan on the chips though if I must say so myself. But everything was really great! I'm going there again today and showing my friend this place (SO excited) and will be sticking to my new usual, Brooklyn Blend & burger :D

They have great teriyaki. The Bento with chicken teriyaki was fantastic - their cooked vegetables are delicious and quality. The chicken yakitori ramen burger was stellar, but the sides are not appropriate. Both the chips and coleslaw just don't mix with the burger - I think they need to find better alternatives! The restaurant itself is very modern and clean. The staff is very nice and professional.

This specialty ramen shop serves some of the best noodles in the area. Curated selection, served Japanese fusion style (mix in continental elements - i.e. fried chicken, meatballs, etc.). Order placed at counter - staff is friendly but strained during rush, limited seating (packed for lunch rush), but overall sleek, industrial design. Can watch food being cooked behind counter - fresh and high quality (though price reflects this). I felt the signature ramen burger (fried, pressed noodles used instead of bun) was good, but probably not as good as the hype, and certainly not as good as the ramen. Bento boxes are also pretty decent.

Ordered the Original Ramen Burger after reading great reviews of this place and boy was this a disappointment. Burger is too small, ramen buns are soggy (not sure if this is because it was a delivery). Don't get me wrong it has a nice taste but again the burger was just way too small. And why would you deliver this with either chips or slaw, when it's supposed to be Asian? We ordered two orders of Edamame and they were not brought to us with our order, then we were told the Edamame would come right over from the restaurant. 30 Minutes later it did not come. Honestly, if I could not choose a STAR I wouldn't but I had to at least make ONE STAR. Don't go here! The pizza from the pizza shop and the korean by our apartment which we had to get after this horrific meal was so much better and more satisfying!

I personally think the Wakayama ramen I got was OK. It was rich and not overly salty. I had some pretty juicy chicken meat but it is not impressive in any way. The ramen is the thin wavy type. Overall, it is not an impressive joint but in the this neighborhood, it is at least better than the ones you would find in a deli. I do want to try their ramen burger and see what that is all about though.

I think it's worth trying the Ramen burger. I'm not saying it's bad, but I've heard some people it's a novelty more than anything else. I will agree that it's a novelty and it does taste rather good, but not a game-changer either. The ramen there isn't bad, but you can definitely get better ramen in NY, maybe not in the financial district though.

Haven't been able to go to the one in Brooklyn, so I got really excited when I found out this was opening steps from my office! I got the original with cheese, but should have added the bacon on there :). The thing that makes the burger is the special sauce. Although the burger is pretty small, it's really tasty! Don't go for dinner yet, they're only open from 11-2 or 3pm (whenever they run out).
