Here's the lowdown: order your food, pay, and then find a seat while you wait for your grub. We swung by on a Sunday around noon, and it was not packed. My better half and I both opted for the Tonkatsu Ramen - the broth was a tad lacking, but hey, flavor is all about personal preference, right? Overall, we were stoked on our ramen, and the toppings were on point. And let's just say the noodles were plentiful - we're talking a serious carb-load. We also gave the Takoyaki and Gyoza a whirl. The Takoyaki was the clear winner - crispy on the outside, and hot, fresh, and fantastic on the inside. It's not easy finding a solid ramen joint in the Fresno/Clovis area that's not in the Bay or LA, so this place was a nice surprise. If you're hankering for some ramen, definitely give this place a shot. Ramen bowls used as lighting fixtures was genius, really cool indeed. Dinning area outside as well.

I ordered to go from this place and it was really good. I enjoyed their spicy pork ramen and chicken as well. I hung out inside for a minute and they had a lot of seating indoor and outdoor. It was busy but the service was quick and the place was clean. I’d definitely go back again if you are craving ramen.

Have been here twice now and all I can say is that this place is amazing! You will definitely find something that you like for sure. I love spam fried rice and this is one of the rare spots that actually has it! The ratio of rice to spam in the musubi is spot on. Service has been great. Delicious that Thea or passion fruit lemonade! The ramen is perfection. Portion sizes are generous. Enough space for a party of two or larger groups.

Google
It's my first time trying this ramen place. We ordered a couple of appetizers. Tried the chicken karage & crispy fried crabs. The appetizers were both good. I think the Tonkotsu ramen & Spicy Miso ramen.. I think flavor-wise, it was pretty decent as well as serving. I have tried other ramen places in the Bay Area, and those were better than this place. Looking at their menu, I am glad there are other options and also you could customize it. I rated this 4 stars as the place is cozy, service is fast & they also have a patio seating area which I am glad to sit outside with my dogs. Overall, I recommend trying this place for sure will come back to try other soups

Google
The food is delicious. However, I don't think the price justifies what you get. A date at a nice sushi restaurant in town costs about the same as having a quick sit down here. There's not much meat in the ramen. You can add more, but then the price goes even higher. If you don't mind the price this place is a 5/5.

Decent spot to fill your ramen cravings! Service was good and fast. Also tried the shell crab which didn't last long on the plate. Serving portions were perfect for what we needed!

Google
This place is nice the food is very affordable and good quality. I’ve dined in here 3 times and have been content with the food and service I received. The atmosphere is pretty chill it usually gets busy in the afternoons. The ramen is really savory and flavorful. The portion is great for the size. For the sides we had spam Mitsubi and Chasu tacos. The spam was good and the chasu tacos are a little sweet and filled with chicken, coleslaw and topped with a sweet sauce. The cheesecake has a fluffy airy texture but is not very sweet. I personally wouldn’t get it again but nonetheless I definitely recommend you give this place a try.

I love coming here when I’m craving a hot soup. Today, I was helped by ⭐️ (Star) I want to thank her for proving her best attitude and outstanding customer service. Now a days, it seems that the skill of hospitality has been lost. Almost always, customer service is mediocre. Especially in small shops. However, today I was delighted to have gotten great service from Star!!! 5 stars ⭐️ for her and a raise too :-)

Yelp
Food: 5 Mics Service: 5 Mics Ambiance: 4.5 Mics Food: I had the spicy oxtail ramen. I don't usually go for spicy and believe it or not don't really eat oxtail. The broth was not overwhelmingly spicy but had its moments. The oxtail was generous and tender. All in all, I loved the ramen. Service: I can't say much about going up to order and then someone brings your order to you. The cashier was friendly and ready to help assist with recommendations. Ambiance: Chill vibes but busy. Felt like the spot!! Come in and enjoy their Ramen. You got my mic drop on this place.

Yelp
Ramen Hayashi is well known for their beautiful presented and flavorful ramen bowls. But today i just need a quick grab and order their charshu rice bowls only. CHARSHU - RICE BOWLS (DONBURI) : I'm a bit dissapointed that their fried rice doesn't have that much flavors. It's slightly sweet and salty. The rice are nicely puffy and formed. The veggies are a bit hard. The charshu is good as I expected. There's a nice crispe on the outside layer. The inside is still soft. It's slighty sweet and salty. The portion size for to-go is a bit small for $12 dollar. The bowl size is small and the rice was not filled all the way to the top. RATE : 2/5 SERVICE : Did a order take out today. They were aiming for 10 to 15 min long but they took longer than the expected time. Friendly service. RATE : 4/5 AMBIANCE : Ambiance is always packed and loud in there. There's limited seating and parking due to how busy they are there. They do have some out door seatings. I wouldn't recommend a partY of 7 and above. They have variety of different chairs and table size so the tables wouldn't connect nicely.

Yelp
It was a random stop during our vacay~ on our way to shaver lake needing some Asian food. Living near LOs Angeles and having had some straight up Japan imports I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised. I don't believe it was true tonkotsu broth as in hakata style and a little sweeter than my liking, but my family enjoyed it. My younger child got their shio broth (clear broth) and I actually enjoyed that flavor a bit more. You get a choice of thin or thicker ramen noodle (they even allow you to order it in udon). They also offer donburi (rice bowl) and fried rice and other main. If you are traveling and driving through Clovis and need some Asian food fix~. This place just might scratch that itch- Thanks Hayashi~ my family left happy!

Yelp
My son wanted some ramen and this place was the closest in the area we were already at. I got him the spicy miso since he likes spicy. I didn't have to wait too long for the food even tho there was a whole line. Got the noods and went home. I like how they separate the noodles and toppings and it's sitting right on top of the broth but not touching. That way the noodles don't be soggy. And it's easier to just dump it into the bowl. I tried the broth and for me, I wasn't impressed. For one, it's not spicy, and for two, it had a strong taste of bamboo or frozen veggies.. I'm not sure if I described that right but it had a weird taste.. I wanted to like the broth but just wasn't a fan. My son said it was okay... not the best. The egg was good. The charsu pork was a little dry even tho it was sitting in broth.. I think if we came back, we would try a different bowl/broth.

Yelp
I was craving some ramen on a cloudy day, so figured I'd try this place. There were plenty of open seats on a Saturday evening, and staff were friendly and helpful. You order at the counter and have the food brought out to you. We got the Tonkotsu Ramen, Shrimp Fried Rice, Chicken Karaage, and the Nikuman. The ramen was okay--the broth didn't have much tonkotsu flavor, but the egg and chashu were good. The fried rice was tasty--huge portion too. The chicken karaage's flavor and sauce were great, but the pieces were so small that it didn't feel like I was getting much chicken. The nikuman's buns were a bit too small for the meat, but it was pretty good. Overall, I don't think I would come back for the ramen--it just doesn't hit the same as the ones in the bay area or in socal, but I'd come for the fried rice again!
google avatar

Yelp
Ramen was fast and flavorful. We got the tonkotsu ramen and an order of the char su pork fried rice. Service was friendly. They have an extensive menu and there is something for everybody. Giving this a 4/5 because we didn't receive our Thai teas until we were already done with our meal. Other than that, it was a good experience.

Yelp
One of our favorite ramen places. My husband loves ramen and this is a place we continue to frequent because they are flavorful and consistent. The ramen broth is delicious, full bodied, and not oily. The ingredients are great: The egg is perfectly runny, noodles are chewy, and everything is well balanced. Their appetizer are delicious; getting them during happy hour at a discount is even better. All in all, this place never disappoints.

Yelp
Excellent service always great food. My go-to order is fried rice with pork cha su, side of mayo and spam musubi-- and it always turns out delicious! At times there's a line, it's definitely worth the wait, if you are taking the food to go I'd suggest ordering on their website, so you don't have to wait. All in all, my go to spot.
google avatar

Song T.

Yelp
Decent ramen spot. We got the spicy oxtail ramen (limited) and the tonkatsu ramen. I would skip the oxtail even though the broth was decent, the meat wasn't great but I appreciated that they also added in the chasiu pork in it. Order and then pick your seat. We had to ask the cashier for ice since the beverage machine did not have any. Prices were decent.
google avatar

Yelp
The food was delicious. The place seemed to be always busy. The kid portions were big so if you have two small eaters, a shared bowl would be great. We also had the fried rice and we all enjoyed it.
google avatar

Yelp
I like the set up and how fast the service has been with my experiences. The ramen is very tasty and I like how they offer other broth options such as chicken or vegan option. This is definitely my go to local ramen place I'd recommend!

Yelp
Definitely a dine and dash because you gotta order and pay first at the front. First time trying their Spicy Oxtail ramen and the broth was well seasoned with a good amount of noodles and toppings. Added an extra soft boiled soy egg. The passionfruit lemonade is pretty good and refreshing. The appetizers we chose chashu tacos and cheesy croquettes were a bit on bland side and disappointing because usually the appetizers that J-Lin creates are tasty. The decor is simple Japanese art and the lighting is great for foodporn pics. Not much service cuz the sauces and drinks are self served. I need to come back to try the other ramens like tonkotsu, the soft shelled crab and garlic edamame.

Yelp
Ramen Hayashi in Clovis was such a gem to have near my house. I love how you place your order first, then sit. So the service is always fast and efficient. Their broth is seriously delicious, and that means a lot coming from me because I'm pretty picky when it comes to ramen. There are lots of condiments on the side, and everything is super customizable, which I really appreciate. Their egg always comes out perfect, too! soft, flavorful, and cooked just right. Definitely one of my favorite local spots!
google avatar

Harut F.

Yelp
Super friendly and quick service. It can get busy in the evenings, but that also goes to show how good it is. I've tried most of the ramen here and the ones I haven't, my family and friends love them. Enjoy sitting indoors or outdoors here.

Yelp
Outdoor seatings , bench style / bar stools and regular table seatings options . Conveniently order and pay by phone QR code available. Or walk up to the counter to order and pay. Find your seatings and the wonderful staff will bring the food to your table. Spotless dining room , beautiful simple decorative dining area & bathroom was clean and nice scented aroma . Staff was pleasant and accommodating especially the young gentleman who took our order 5/28/2024 @ 12:30 pm . We had the tongkatsu , spicy ramen and fried potstickers . We were pleased with what we had.

Yelp
There's a reason Ramen Hayashi made the list of the Top 100 Places to Eat in the Central Valley. It's their ramen plain and simple, but what I didn't know is that their appetizers are just as delicious. Ramen Hayashi is more of a fast casual ramen experience. Ordering is done at the counter and they bring you your food. We did just this and waited on their outdoor patio to dig in. I made a custom bowl with spicy miso, thin noodles and chicken. I made a grave mistake and should've gotten pork, like I always do, but figured with the appetizers I would be at my pork limit for the day. The Ramen was good, but I wasn't getting very much spice and had to add spicy seasonings to my bowl. Plus without the pork it lacked that deep flavorful broth. My wife got the shoyo miso bowl off the menu and it was delicious. Rich flavorful broth with thick noodles, mushrooms, and thin sliced pork. I definitely had order envy. For the apps we ordered chicken karage, cheesy corn croquettes, pork gyoza, and nikuman; a Japanese steamed bun filled with pork, shiitake mushroom, and cabbage. Of course, my kids loved the chicken karage (fried chicken bites) and the pork gyoza as did I, but the nikuman buns were my favorite. You gotta love pillowy soft bread filled with crunchy veggies and juicy pork. The cheesy corn croquettes were not really anyone's favorite. We were checked on multiple times by the staff to make sure we had everything we needed!

Yelp
Ramen Hayashi has wonderful yakisoba and ramen. The servers are always polite and professional. And you don't have to wait for your server to arrive since you order upfront yet you still get your food delivered! The vibe of the restaurant is also great. Very clean and great decor, I love the ramen bowl lamps personally.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a casual, self-seating ramen spot. You order first then find a seat. Server will bring food to you. We went on a Saturday afternoon right before the lunch rush. Our order came out pretty fast. Ordered the shoyu ramen and tonkatsu ramen with chicken karage. The shoyu broth was delicious! A little on the salty side but it made the noodles flavorful. There was also tender slices of beef in there which I was impressed by. Even though the meat was well done, it melted in my mouth. Definitely quality beef used there. The Tonkatsu broth was alright. I think I'm just not a fan of tonkatsu broth in general but my husband really liked it. The star of the show in my opinion was the chicken karage. It was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. The chili powder served along side it was delicious and addicting and not too hot. I would come back for the karage alone. One of the better ramen shops in the Fresno/Clovis area. Would recommend this place! And will be returning!

Yelp
Love this place! Solid ramen spot. I wish there were more veggie options on the menu aside from having to build your own. Service is great. Ambience is nice for a relaxing night out. Seating is best for small groups.

Yelp
It isn't the greatest (soup broth) that I've had but it definitely satisfied a craving. Tried the tonkotsu ramen, karaage, takoyaki, and chicken rice bowl w spicy mayo. Service was good. Pay at the counter and pick up when the beaker buzzes. Ambiance is typical "fast food" casual. The place was clean with plenty of parking.

David S.

Yelp
Great food! Great atmosphere! Solves any issues quickly, love going here! Have not found anything we do not enjoy

Jose G.

Yelp
Top notch! I loved the option to customize my bowl. I had the tonkatsu broth and doubled the meat. Place has a cool vibe and I will definitely come again!
google avatar

Yelp
I called in an order from their website and the total was way more than the website menu advertised. I spoke with a manager and he said "our prices have gone up and we probably didn't update the website." He didn't honor the price I or anyone was looking at and I told him they wasted my time and I feel it was a bait and switch. He said "have a good day ma'am" WHAT? Not cool and not any way to take care of your customers. I would have gladly paid their price and maybe not order as much as I did if the prices advertised were the correct ones. They have now lost a customer and I'm a big foodie with a LARGE following. Right is right

Yelp
Hubs and I had dinner here last Sunday night after a long day of hiking in Sequoia. This hit the spot! Hubs built his own ramen bowl; I had the rice bowl w/ chicken teriyaki. Both were excellent! Had a veggie spring roll appetizer which was great too - just came after our meals. Nice outdoor seating options, friendly service. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Mariah M.

Yelp
Decided to try this place out before it gets too hot, haha. The meat was just the right texture between chewy and soft- the broth was flavorful - and the Takoyaki was creamy. Everyone was very polite and brought everything we needed to enjoy our meal. The setting is quite simple and quiet- perfect atmosphere for ramen. We definitely will come back!
google avatar

Saya H.

Yelp
First time eating ramen in Fresno and I was so disappointed. The broth was watery, the noodles were overcooked and soggy, and they were clumped together. I heard the rice bowls are good here but I would strongly advise you not to get ramen.

Melissa H.

Yelp
The soup hardly had any chicken and they forgot the egg too. That's my granddaughter favorite part so she was pretty disappointed.
google avatar

Veronica J.

Yelp
The place is really nice, bright &clean. When you walk in you order up front then they give you a buzzer thing and bring out your food. We ordered the Tonkotsu, the Shio ramen & rock shrimp. We got it how they make it, didn't try the make your own style, I really enjoyed my shio ramen, it came with the traditional ramen noodles. I really enjoyed the additives the broth was very tasty. The tonkotsu came with like wheat, angel hair pasta style noodles. We were not a fan of the broth or noodles. The broth was lacking a lot of traditional qualities, it didn't have that rich porky broth flavor. It had an artificial taste, almost chemically flavor to the broth. It was very underwhelming. The soft boiled egg was very soy saucy & sweet but like in an odd way not completely awful but I wasn't expecting that. The Rock shrimp was great, fresh and crispy and not overly saucy and the sauce was delicious.
google avatar

Katherine N.

Yelp
Food was alright. The chicken karage just tasted like American popcorn chicken, which isn't bad, just not what we were expecting. Ramen was lacking depth of flavor. Service was pretty quick and efficient. Ambiance - decent amount of indoor and outdoor seating with a causal vibe since you order and pay at the front before being seated.

Yelp
I often look around on Yelp to see which great place I should try next, and Ramen Hayashi caught my eye. The place wasn't crowded at all and workers were friendly! The seats against the wall were comfy and I love how they bring the food out to you. I feel like Ramen Hayashi is so reasonably priced for the portion size. I did the build-your-own and my boyfriend got the Chicken Rice Bowl with Teriyaki (and upgraded to fried rice). My ramen was a 10/10. Vegetables were fresh (especially the cilantro), the meat was good, the broth was full of flavor, and the noodles were filling! As for the Rice bowl, this might possibly be one of our favorites! The chicken was succulent and tasty, and the rice was seasoned well and had the perfect texture (you know when fried rice is soft but not tooo soft? Yeah, this was perfect). Also, loved the little crunch of the lima beans on top! I'm a little upset because I ate everything there and now I don't have leftovers for later... but I guess I'll just have to come back soon!
google avatar

K B.

Yelp
The ramen was so hot and fresh. Spam musubi and the edamame are good as well Price is reasonable and the portions are huge. I haven't tried dining in yet. Will be coming here more often since I'm close to it.
google avatar

Monica B.

Yelp
It's important to note that usually with takeout meals, I give it a bit more grace, as it sits on the drive home and so on. That being said, I was not impressed with anything we ordered that wasn't the ramen. I realize that is what we were going for, but yhe other stuff had high ratings. First, the takoyaki was completely cold and very chewy, the cheese, and corn croquettes, were ok but the after taste was weird. Now the worst in my humble opinion was the Cheesecake. I don't know if someone cut the cake with a dirty knife or what but I could taste garlic and other not cheesecake flavors. Now the ramen was great, broth was yummy, and it was nice to have GF options on the menu. My son loved the noodles as well.
google avatar

Melanie M.

Yelp
The food is the best, but I came in for takeout this evening. The server at the register was the sweetest. I appreciated the customer service. She even handed me my food at my seat waiting to leave. Appreciate your restaurant and team.
google avatar

Kathy H.

Yelp
Great tasting food that came out fast and nice decor inside. We ordered 2 shoyu ramen, one customized and one just their regular #2. We also got the takoyaki, karage, cheesy corn croquettes, and side of fried rice. A lot of food and leftovers to take home but we wanted to try a lot of different items. Definitely will be back to try their other ramen.
google avatar

Kubo K.

Yelp
I love this place! I ordered the Hokkaido Ramen with a shio broth which is a chicken broth that I had them make it spicey. So yummy! Luckily I brought my container to take it home as there is about 2 meals in the serving. I'm def coming back to try everything on the menu!
google avatar

Kat K.

Yelp
I usually love this place. Never had any issues until I placed a GrubHub order and after I took a couple of bites, I see this dark, thick piece of black hair in ramen. I do not have dark hair. I'm grossed out.
google avatar

Catherine N.

Yelp
I like the place and the food. I ordered tonkotsu, spicy miso, and the shoyu ramen (2) as well as a few appetizers. We got chicken karage, nikuman, and takoyaki. The total came to about $90. The eggs were one of my favorite toppings! One thing I do think is that some of the appetizers felt overpriced to me. The takoyaki was almost $10 for only 6 pieces. Everything else was fine. The service was great, it was fast! I ordered and then only waited about 10 minutes for everything. The ambiance was nice. I would say there is a good amount of seating and space as well as lighting. This is not my first time here but it is sad to see the prices continuously going up. I feel like they should add a combo deal to the menu.
google avatar

Sm M.

Yelp
I was really craving a rice bowl and Ramen Hayashi did not disappoint. The bowl came out hot and was very tasty. I like that the rice bowls are customizable and they have a variety of options. My only criticism is the Spicy Garlic Teriyaki sauce is not spicy. It is flavorful, but not spicy. The staff was friendly as well. Oh! And the prices are pretty good for a restaurant of this caliber, $13 for the bowl. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
Ramen Hayashi  I've been to most of the ramen restaurants in the surrounding area and this place has pretty solid food. Today, May, 17, 2024, I got the Tonkotsu ramen. Nice flavor, not too salty. The pork is savory. I enjoyed the soft-boiled egg inside. Noodles had a very satisfying chew to them.  The thing that really stood out to me in today's order is the chicken karaage. It was like popcorn chicken, and tasted way better than KFC, honestly. It had a sweet, mayonnaise-like sauce. The chicken was crispy and felt fresh. I also had the soft shell crab for the 2nd time in my life today here. That's a plus considering not many places serve it around Clovis and Fresno. It was pretty good but not as crazy good as the chicken karaage. I sort of wish they had more ramen variations though. But still a good selection.
google avatar

Jennifer S.

Yelp
Great quality and service! The line was out the door and food was coming out in a timely manner. The limited time spicy oxtail ramen was 10/10! Full of flavor and they definitely are not skimpy with the meat! If it's still available it's a must try!
google avatar

Axel O.

Yelp
I love coming here. Service is always good, Favorite ramen spot in Fresno, interior is nice and outside setting is cool. Good never disappoints
google avatar

Toni E.

Yelp
Late lunch today. Tried the "special" Oxtails Ramen. It was just ok. Broth was good though. I normally do a custom bowl... ramen is still a great choice for a cold day!

Zhang C.

Yelp
Not as good as last year. The noodle was cheap dry noodles, not the right noodle type for ramen. The worst part was the broth which I doubt was not made from tonkotsu but rather made with some quick tricks (mayo and eggs) because you can't taste the flavor of tonkotsu broth (pork bone/beef bone cooked for hours). This place is getting more expensive in menu prices but cheaper in quality. Disappointed! Probably won't come back. The service was good though. The young waiter was really nice and helpful.
google avatar

Mandy H.

Yelp
Recently ordered to go from here and I love it! I only gave it a 4 star because they forgot my cheesecake so I had to go back but that is partly my fault for not double checking. They were super kind and the cheesecake was amazing. I tried the steak custom ramen and I love that you can customize all of your toppings. Will for sure be coming back soon.
google avatar

Danny B.

Yelp
Everything I ordered was good, place is clean, along with friendly service. My first time eating at a "ramen" place so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. Personally, I thought the noodles need to boil a little longer as they were still just a little to hard. Other Thaler than that, had a good experience & would go back! All in all, clean, friendly with good food! I personally suggest adding pepper, sriracha & whatever little concoction that's in the glass jar! Oh, and soy sauce.
google avatar

Marilyn V.

Yelp
Hard to find good Asian restaurants in the Fresno/Clovis area...at least on my visit this time...and this place might probably be the closest to authentic. We had the Tonkotsu Ramen, Nikuman (Pork Cua Shi Bao Buns), Soft Shell Crab, and Chicken Karaage. Chicken Karaage tasted more like Taiwanese Chicken Nugget than Japanese Karaage. Tastes good but it just tasted Taiwanese rather than Japanese. Bao Buns are soft and pillowy. Love it
google avatar

Manasi P.

Yelp
This place is really good, i genuinely enjoy their selection in broths and their dry noodle dish was also really delicious

Kerry S.

Yelp
I love, love their rice bowls. They were so helpful the first time we went in and didn't have any idea what to order. The food did not take long to make. My new favorite place.
