Dripping with charm, this quaint little restaurant sits in the heart of SJC and just steps aways from the train. The service was warm and welcoming and their brunch was spot on! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone

What a charming little place! I really love the cozy atmosphere here. They have a great variety of menus, and everything looks and sounds so delicious. It's hard to believe we can't try it all in one trip! 😂😂😂 Our server, Ally, was super friendly and really helpful. I can't wait to come back and sample more of the tasty options on the menu!

I do not venture out to OC but after dining here today for brunch I guarantee that this will not be my last time here. As many familiar with my reviews know im one for quaint mom and pop homestyle food and experiences. Ramos House delivered on so many key features I look for when choosing a great option not only for dining but as a disabled diner at that. To start off I love that this brunch spots is ADA accessible. The resturant is leveled and provides enough space for those of us who use mobility aides such as canes, wheelchairs, scooters and so forth. Tables are leveled and spaced out enough to accommodate you and your parties comfortably. I feel funny commenting on the cute aestetics of the restroom, however the vintage restroom is a single stall, spacious restroom that provides enough space for those mobility aides. We dined on a Saturday that was offering a 2 course brunch menu. Please keep in mind this kitchen is in a small old home so unfortunately you will not be able to make substitutions to your meals. With brunch we have options to choose one small plate and one large entree. For $45 prefix menu they in my opinion are very generous on portion sizes. You can't go to brunch and not get a cocktail. Well you can and they offer a variety of options, however i opted for a Palomoa with Mezcal tequila because for my brunch option I needed something smokey to pair with the entrees earthy flavors. I reccomend traveling with friends and sampling each other's plates as every option looked delicious, it was hard to choose so we all got one option to share. Our server was such a gem and offered personalized reccomendations based off our questions that helped the three of us narrow down our options. To hear employees speak highly of the food they serve you and what their personal favorites are is always a good sign. I opted for hush puppies and the avocado aoili topped with a delicious peppered jam. Presentation alone was plated to perfection and the taste, phenomenal. Each bite was a unique explosion of flavors. The flakey bites of potatoes paired with a creamy avocado aioli and chunks of peppers dance on you palette with each bite. I was pleased two of us selected the same appetizer because after one was done we devoured the second. The third party member ordered the apple cinnamon beignets. Personally I felt these made the perfect dessert alternative. They were soft , warm and the plated sauce absolutely delicious. I loved that they were not too sweet and had a hint of savory flare. For each of our meals we all ordered something unique. I chose the wild mushroom mac and cheese with duck and truffles. It's very hearty and filling. The earthy flavors played well with my smokey cocktail. Dinner 2 opted for the beef stew and veggies. The beef was so tender and juicy, bursting with rich flavors. Dinner 3 selected the chicken salad and a side biscuit and apple butter for an extra $3. The chicken breaded to perfection offered such a unique flair and flavors , while the unique pumpkin dressing added a taste that was not only unique but delicious. The biscuit was flakey and delicious and paired with the apple butter was worth the extra cost. This brunch date with friends turned into an amazing exploration of flavors, fun and great conversations. Going with a small group is a must. I enjoyed how each entree compliments each other so well. The portions so generous we took food home and the atmosphere and customer service phenomenal.

Amazing place with fresh farm to table like food. Dog friendly with a patio area that’s secluded for a larger party. Been here several times.

Gorgeous, not too touristy, beautiful atmosphere in a mature garden and large trees for shade. I sat on the balcony which was nice for watching the world go by. Reasonable prices, decent portions, what more can you ask for.

Arrived just after 9 am, seated immediately. Lovely setting. Brunch was substantial and every bite delicious. Presentation was beautiful.

I saw this place when I took the train. Such a cute place in a small historic city! Food is so delicious; and the cocktails are exceptional. They had the brunch menu when we were there. It’s so worth the money. Their service is great and very friendly. Must try!!!!

The duck Mac and cheese was absolutely delicious. Coffee too was great! Would totally recommend.

Yelp
Lovely place to have breakfast! Everyone was friendly and nice. I was glad to see the train pass by during our brunch. It was a lovely experience! Drinks: Hot chai latte 10/10. Ice matcha latte 3/10. Wild Mushroom Mac N' Cheese w Duck Confit & Black Truffles 8.5/10. A little bit more salt would make it perfect! Mushrooms were strong. Scotch Quail Egg w/ Murdock's Magic Mustard 6.5/10. Egg was a bit too overcooked. But the sauce was good! Beef Stew w Blue Cheese Mash 10/10! I loved the mashed potatoes and the bread paired all so well with the stew! Crab Hash w/ Smoked Bacon Scrambled Eggs, Vinegar Tomatoes & Sweet Potato Crispies 9/10! The horseradish was my favorite!

Yelp
The food dishes during sat brunch were not good to the pallette, they we're just eh. Presentations were nice but the flavors were probably not what the original intent was supposed to be. The only saving graces were 1. The servers, 2. The ambiance, and 3. The Hush Puppies.

Yelp
What a gem, uniquely places by the railroad track, walking distance from out hotel (The Inn At Mission Capistrano). They have shade for a hot 95F day. Didn't know it was a prefix menu, but all the food was delicious. 1. Barada and heirloom tomatoes. 2. Beignet. 3. Beef stew. 4. Famous crab and bacon omelette." Service is outstanding

Yelp
Ramos House Cafe sits in the heart of downtown San Juan Capistrano and offers a beautiful garden-like setting with lush greenery and a vintage, ranch-style vibe. It truly feels like you're dining on a charming old ranch. Not to mention how lovely the washroom was. The mocha and lattes were excellent, but the basil lox salmon plate was a letdown--too fishy and dry overall. The hush puppies and cinnamon donut holes were definitely the highlight of the meal. Service was just okay--our waitress seemed rushed--and there was no background music, which made it feel a bit loud. Overall, it was a pleasant visit, but I'd likely only return for coffee and the ambiance.

Yelp
I visited Ramos House Cafe with a large group of 16 and really enjoyed my experience! If you have a group this big, you should definitely call ahead and make a reservation as the space is on the small side. It's mostly, if not all, outdoor seating and everyone working is super friendly. The brunch comes with a small plate and a large plate for $48/person. This may seem pricey, which it is, but for the amount of food you get, it makes sense. The menu has something for everyone and works for people of all ages. For my small plate, I ordered the cup of spicy tomato bisque with rock shrimp and grilled cheese. It sounds exactly like what it is and it was delicious. Nothing really beats a grilled cheese and tomato soup. For my large plate, I ordered the crab hash with smoked bacon scrambled eggs and vinegar tomatoes. This was so much more food than I expected. It is two crab cakes stacked on top of each other with the vinegar tomatoes on the bottom and the eggs between the crab cakes, as well as on top. The flavor is solid, maybe too much egg, but I still enjoyed it. I do think it would do better with a fresh green or something else to cut through it all, as the tomatoes weren't enough for me, but other than that, it was good! I would, however, get something else if I came back here.

Yelp
One of my favorites in recent memory! It's hard to beat the charming ambiance and great outdoor dining experience you get here at Ramos House Cafe. Definitely a little hidden gem, tucked away in the heart of San Juan Capistrano. We came late on a Tuesday afternoon, which was a perfect time for us given we had a baby stroller and two dogs with us so it was perfect and not too crowded. The staff couldn't have been more welcoming despite having arrived close to closing time. The food is unique and inventive, thoughtfully prepared. The service, attentive, warm, and genuinely friendly. Will definitely be back- looking forward to exploring more of the menu! (and because we simply just love the area)

Yelp
A day trip to san Juan Capistrano via Amtrak. Lunch at Ramos House was the perfect start of our day. The scotch quail was really good. Never had a Scottish egg. The oysters were good but I prefer raw oysters. The salmon was delicious. I think the crumble boiled egg really kicked it up a notch. I would definitely get that again. The place is adorable feels like sitting in a backyard patio & with the train going by it felt like we were far away somewhere abroad. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal & would definitely visit again.

Yelp
This is an outstanding little café in San Juan Capistrano. My wife and I have heard about this place for a long time and we finally ventured out to try it and I'm glad we did! Parking is close by in the parking garage that's very close to the mission and across the tracks from the cafe. You have to pay, but it's not expensive at all and it's worth it to park there and be able to park so close. It's very easy to get a seat in the morning. We arrived around 845 and there were only a couple of other seated parties. By the time we left the place was packed though so keep that in mind. Service was prompt and very good. The girls who work there are very attentive and were constantly floating through the area asking if our food was OK while topping off our water. The food itself was excellent. The Sunday brunch is a two course meal that is a flat rate of $48. My wife had the apple hush puppies with cinnamon and the bacon scramble. I had the grilled cheese and tomato bisque with rock shrimp, and the Huevo rancheros. We also both got coffees and my wife got a mimosa. Everything was delicious and well prepared. The food is definitely different and not something you're going to find at your average diner. That aspect alone made it very worthwhile for both of us. The café itself is beautiful as well and it's right next to the train track so it's kind of fun when the train comes through going either to LA or to San Diego. Definitely check this place out as it will be well worth your time!

Yelp
TLDR: Tastily prepared foods that will leave you perfectly stuffed yet satisfied. An amazing brunch by the tracks, featuring outdoor dining and an older restroom. And of course, some of the most heartwarming staff, too! Tip: Make a reservation if large group! They're quite a petite location, quite literally "house." :) - - - - - - - I visited Ramos House Cafe with a large group of friends, and we had their weekend brunch. The staff are super patient, though their menu... may be less though mostly because of how many tasty options be staring back at you! I had a hard time deciding what to order, and I'm glad I settled on their Small Basil Cured Salmon Lox and Crab Hash with Smoked Bacon Scrambled Eggs & Citrus Cream. Now for starters, the "small" must describe the basil, because that didn't quite feel small. I'm generally hesitant with salmon lox because I'm not a fan of cured meats, but this one was SUPER tasty. And the small bed of veggies and crunchy bread as a bed for the salmon? Sign me up! The Crab Hash was next, and it had me in circles... where was the crab? Look hard enough, and you'll see it. But you can definitely taste it! The scrambled eggs were perfectly salted, and the chef made use of that natural bacon taste, too! I'm especially impressed, since most places with bacon dishes tend to produce very salty dishes. And the citrus cream? A light delight for the mouth and brief pause from the savory hash. The staff? Amazing. Cycled at least once every 10-15 minutes to refresh our waters. Even for a rainy day, they were taking care of all the guests. My favorite parts? The entire dining area was outdoors and natural. The only annoyance is the occasional noise from the Amtrak nearby. The fun part? Their restroom is old style, and you flush by manually pulling a rod. It also gives "natural" as you can view the street from the restroom, but fear not, as it is a "one way" and people on the street cannot peer inside. :)

Yelp
We stumbled upon this quaint and charming restaurant in Los Rios with top notch service and delicious food/cocktails. The small portion was small so we get to try a few things which was perfect for me. We order the Scottish quail eggs-yum. The grilled oysters, could have eaten 2 orders, the tomatoes bisques was light with grilled cheese sandwiches was cooked perfection, yummy beignets , the burrata heirloom tomatoes was very refreshing as well. The best crab hash ever, as the egg was fluffy and the crab cake was just tasty. We ordered the cat pajama, little it put me to nap time right after . We can't wait to return with friends and family next time. Thank you for the amazing afternoon with best hospitality and wonderful food.

Yelp
We are back... Once you have discovered the Ramos house Café , you simply cannot forget it. They make the most incredible London fog . The food is so unique and so special everything has meaning and is intentional. Just remember they close at three so get there early and enjoy.

Yelp
The food was good and a little expensive. The small plate + the large plate doesn't feel worth $50 price tbh. The server we got was rude. She was very condescending with the kids, trying to rush their order, and had a bit of attitude. She made us feel we didn't belong here. This is just one specific server; the others are friendly, though. Usually, a negative first impression and the vibe would kill off the entire dining experience.

Yelp
Started off well then sort of went a little downhill from there... I would give 3.5 stars but there's no option for that :\. I was long overdue with trying a new restaurant so I decided to try this place over the weekend. With the # of positive reviews I was excited, and showed up early to wait in line prior to the restaurant opening. My girlfriend and I showed up about 5 minutes early and there was about 6 parties ahead of us. We were greeted by the friendly host, who made sure we knew it was brunch only. For those who don't know, Saturday and Sunday are brunch only, which is $45/person for a 2-course (1 small plate, 1 large plate) meal. After being seated we ordered our drinks, and shortly after that we ordered our food. What did we order? - Cinnamon Apple Beignets: 4 very large beignets with a light coating of powdered sugar resting in a pool of semi-sweet sauce. These were very good, crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. Let each bite you take rest in the sauce prior, it makes it taste so much better. - Huckleberry Coffee Cake: A good sized piece of coffee cake also resting in some semi-sweet sauce. The crusty part is delicious and just like the beignets, rest it in the sauce before consuming. My favorite out of everything else. - Crab Hash w/ Smoked Bacon Scrambled Eggs & Vinegar Tomatoes: A crab patty with scrambled eggs and some dried onions on top. I was expecting this to be good but it was honestly a let down. You would think the large plate would be the highlight of the meal but it definitely wasn't. The crab hash was very dry and the scrambled eggs lacked flavor and seemed a little overcooked and dry as well. - Huevos Rancheros w/ Fried Poached Egg, Morning Chubs & Chilis: Delivered in a skillet with 2 tortillas, this was also a bit disappointing. The best part of the dish was the guacamole. The chili on the bottom was eh, could've done without it. Service was good. The waitresses were friendly. The ambiance is nice and there's a decent amount of seating. There 2 tables on the porch in front and seating in the back. Blankets are provided and are on the seat back once you get to your table. Would I come back? Maybe, but just for the small plates and NOT for brunch.

Yelp
I found this place on Yelp and really wanted to check it out when we had a chance to be in the area and the moment my family was visiting, I made reservation right away! We came a while back on a Saturday when it was still early, brunch time. We also had two dogs with us. This cafe is super cute! I love all their decorations and the vibe is so pretty, vintage, and artsy! I also really like how they decorated the bathroom! They make everything from scratch and as you order and they have a very small kitchen because it was an old house converted into a cafe, so, please be patient when you come to dine here! But, I will tell you the food is SO WORTH the wait!!!!! We got a variety of few dishes and loved everything! I will definitely come again when I'm in the area!!!

Yelp
The Ramos House has a fixed $45 brunch menu weekend only. You have a choice of one small plate and one large plate. Drinks are an extra charge. Small interior space adjacent view of the train tracks, the vibe is a thrift shoppers paradise. Chalk board food menus and drinks. Very chilly during the winter time. Blankets and heaters are provided. Arrive early to wait in line for a table. Food is delicious and highly recommend the Hopping John soup! Best soup I have ever had that warmed my soul. I wanted to order another bowl! Waitress are very friendly and provide extra hospitality. Ice tea refills are provided. Dogs are not allowed unfortunately but it is a small space and enjoy yourself with friends and family!

Yelp
Took the train down from Fullerton and grabbed a table at Ramos house at 10am Sunday, several tables available when we sat and then there were 20 people waiting on the street! Great Bloody Mary and delicious food, too much food Biscuit Hush puppies Some sort of hash, maybe it was the crab hash. Food was delicious! Wife was very happy! Love this spot, I spent much of my twenties in this town, ate here many times. Very excited to see it still around especially with all the changes and growth in the area. Beautiful rustic outdoor dining, definitely heated areas and colder areas...

Yelp
OMG maybe I should 1 star it to keep others away. Ramos House Café is hands down one of the most charming spots in all of Orange County. Tucked right across from the train station in historic San Juan Capistrano, this place feels like a secret garden brunch haven. The outdoor setting is serene and rustic, with a relaxed vibe that makes you want to linger for hours. The food? Incredible. The house-cured duck hash is next level, and the truffle parmesan fries are dangerously addictive. Don't even get me started on the apple cider beignets. Pair everything with a mimosa or Bloody Mary and you've got perfection on a plate. Service is warm, thoughtful, and never rushed. It's the kind of place you want to keep to yourself... So honestly? Stay away--let the locals enjoy it while it lasts. But if you must go, go hungry--and prepare to fall in love.

Yelp
My mom and I stopped by in a Thursday for brunch! Everything was amazing! The location on the historic street was super charming. The garden atmosphere of the Cafe was like no where I have been before. The service was fantastic, all staff was very friendly. The cocktails were very tasty and not super syrupy and sweet. The food was delicious, everything was fresh and full of flavor.

Yelp
Came for Mother's Day brunch, was a 2 hour wait but actually ended up being more like 1 hour 30! Worth the wait, the hush puppies were delicious, the tomato bisque with grilled cheese was my fave, had peices of shrimp inside it. I also got the Burgos rancheros which sounded great but wasn't a fan of the sausage, it completely threw the taste of the dish off and was very sausage heavy and didn't feel like there an an egg or rancheros in the dish, just tortillas on the side. Would definitely come back to try something else, I'm sure this is a great dish for a different palate. Service is great, the tea and lemonade taste authentic like not from a tap and all the ladies are so kind. Gorgeous outdoor seating area great for a family day.
google avatar

Yelp
FYI they only do a $45 Brunch on the weekend but it's worth it! You get a small plate and a large plate. The portions are actually pretty large and you leave happy and full. The service is always friendly and prompt. The ambiance is super cute and welcoming. The surrounding area is gorgeous to walk around and sight-see.
google avatar

Shadi A.

Yelp
So the ambiance of this restaurant is very cute! Presentation on food is very good. Mon-Fri you can order a la carte--so I recommend coming then. Fri-Sun is pre fixe so $45 minimum per person. We went on a Friday and got seated right away! For Birthdays they don't do much--you purchase a dessert and they put 1 candle on it. Food presentation and ambiance were excellent but taste was okay.

Yelp
I can't believe I've lived in South OC for over 20 years and have never been here! Ramos House is such a charming spot to gather. I met 3 of my childhood friends here for brunch before shopping. One of my friends took the train from Pasadena. It's a minute walk from where she got off the train. Parking for the rest of us was plentiful! I was lucky and parked free at the park but spots fill up pretty quick. There's also a pay to park parking structure super close by the train station. Cocktails are available while waiting in the charming waiting room. We were seated on the porch. It was so perfect for us because it felt like we were gathering at a friend's home. On the weekend it's $45 per person. This includes a choice of one small and one large plate. Drinks are separate. For drinks two of us ordered huckleberry vodka lemonade which we both enjoyed. One friend ordered the Grapefruit Paloma Margarita w Smoked Rosemary which she did not care for but another friend did. We also got an Arnold Palmer which never disappoints. Our small plate orders were huckleberry coffee cake, small basil cured salmon lox with toast & baby herbs, and butternut squash soup with brown butter shrimp. All were fantastic! Our large plates included two smoked bacon scrambles with rocket apple fried potatoes, crab hash with smoked bacon scrambled eggs & vinegar tomatoes & sweet potato crispies, and caramel peach pain perdu. Everyone LOVED their meals! It was the perfect amount for brunch. We were not rushed and our server Mattie was absolutely perfect and sweet. This will definitely be a fun go to spot in the future for me!

Yelp
Ramos house cafe has a cute brunchy cottage type vibe. The portions are massive (I brought half of mine home), but know that on weekends it's a pre-set $45 per person. With that you get a small dish and a large dish. Any drinks are extra. If you go during the week I think it is a la cart, so if I came back I'd definitely go during the week. Everything was good, don't get me wrong, and the presentation was very cool, but for the price I would rather have a different food experience instead of a fairly basic brunch. The hush puppies were very tasty and the crab cake hash was a very fun, flavorful dish as well. Overall it's a place I'd at least try once, or maybe for special occasions.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious food and a lot of different variety of unique flavors that you wouldn't think would taste good, but actually does! We went for Sunday brunch (set menu of $45 per person) and it comes with a small plate and a large plate. We ended up getting hush puppies, fava bean appetizer, the hopping john soup, and the beef stew, which was by far our favorite!! The service was wonderful and we were sat in a cute little cozy table around the corner, of the front porch of the "house." The only thing I wish was that they didn't serve their wine in mason jars (but I'm sure it's because they were trying to keep up with the aesthetic of the restaurant), which was very farm to table.

Yelp
On our way to our painting class in the Los Rios Historical District, we stopped here for lunch. I chose the Smoked Bacon Scramble w/ Rocket & Apple Fried Potatoes (pictured) and others in my party chose the Hoppin' John soup and the Flannel Hash w Organic Fried Poached Egg & Goat Cheese Foam. We added the Buttermilk Biscuits, which were served with an apple compote, something different, and also delicious. All of our food choices were delicious, and the portions are generous. It's impressive that they use ingredients that are fresh and local, I like that they support local growers and they grow their herbs in the gardens that surround the patio. If you're hungry in SJC, you can't go wrong with breakfast or lunch here!

Yelp
7/25/24 Such an adorable dining place in the Historic District of Los Rios (SJC). It really feels like you're invited into someone's home and eat at their patio. We were quoted about a 35 minute wait so we decided to walk on by the Hidden House Cafe. I had just gotten my drink (ready as soon as I ordered it!!) when I received a text that our table was ready. That was the quickest 35 minute wait, well it was more like 7 minutes. The previous party before us didn't show & we got lucky. Claire sat us under a tree & it was just perfect. Immediately, ice water was served & offered a few minutes to order (drinks first & then food). Everyone was exemplary, they worked as a team to ensure someone is always stopping by to check up on us. Hubby ordered a small plate (saving his hunger for later), lox & toast and and a glass of Cabernet. I was hungry so I ordered a larger plate of smoked bacon scramble. The apple cinnamon beignets sounded delectable so I ordered that too. Our food arrived shortly thereafter & oh so good! It's the kind of surprise when your eyes instantly perk up because the flavors are just amazing. My smoked bacon & Rocket fried potatoes were sensational, bursting with flavor. Hubby loved his lox & toast. Wowzah, the apple cinnamon beignets arrived just at the right time. I couldn't finish my plate so Hubby helped out. The beignets were served piping hot & luxuriously served with a white sauce & syrup. It was the perfect finishing touch to our meat. The ambience feels like a lazy afternoon at someone's patio and it's relaxing. It helps that the weather was ideal, just the right temperature, small breeze. Service was attentive & friendly. I highly recommend this place.

Love love Ramos house! My go to spot for breakfasts with friends, family, and my partner. On a Tuesday morning we arrived at 10am and there was no wait for a table for 2. The menu is short/simple which means that they're great at everything they put out. After ordering, our server checked if there were any dietary restrictions to make the kitchen aware of which I thought was an important touch! Seemed allergen conscious/friendly. Also note it's not crazy expensive, but definitely a more pricey choice than other options (I think it was $7 for an orange juice?) but in my opinion worth it!! Our table ordered the beignets, a black tea, a bacon scramble, and peach French toast. All was delicious! The beignets came out as an appetizer and were so soft and fluffy. The food definitely took a minute (but in such a small kitchen this makes sense) but it came out within a reasonable time frame! These are leftovers that you'll remember to eat. :) Last note is that the ambiance is so cute!! The courtyard where you eat is adorable. Also random but be sure to use the bathroom when you're there, it's so cute. I'll always stop at Ramos House Cafe when I'm in SoCal!

Yelp
It was time to savor the brunch dining options in San Juan Capistrano (SNC). So I boarded my favorite Amtrak train, the Pacific Surfliner going South, for a 2.5 hour one-way ride to SNC. The train station has a unique small town and magnetic disposition. There is only one track. Hello. Yes it works both ways. LOL. This was part of my plan. So, as you disembark, there are two eateries by the tracks and directly opposite each other. The smaller one, is the Ramos House Cafe. I had to got there and ordered the Scotch Quail Eggs with Murdoch's Magic Mustard, from the small plates menu. I am a big fan of Scotch Eggs, something not easy to find at many or any dining locations. This was crisp and warm on the outside, tasty on the inside. The Quail Egg adds another dimension (if and when you find them elsewhere, they are generally, hen eggs). The whole presentation made for good optics and delighted the culinary senses. Service was good. I would have hung out for longer, but I had plans. And that was to go opposite the tracks for the next dining location. Also part of the plan.

Yelp
Service - 5/5 : the girls working the shift were super friendly and attentive. They didn't rush our party even though we had a couple late comers. She explained their weekend menu which is only available at a standard rate but for the amount of food you get, I think it's worth it. We got there at opening so for us the wait was not long at all. But if can see why the wait can be awhile because it is a small place and the kitchen only takes orders once the whole party arrived since it's a small kitchen. Food - 4/5 : the beignets were not for me, personally. I'd say it's a bit overrated. The duck Mac and cheese and the salmon lox were perfection. My friend also orders the oysters and those were delicious as well! Their coffee cake was 5/5 recommend

Yelp
Excuse me while I pick my jaw off the floor. Our brunch at Ramos House Cafe isn't one I'll easily forget. Brunch starts at $45, which includes a wide menu selection of both a small and large plate. Because of its popularity, expect to wait about 30+ minutes to be seated. Luckily there are so many nearby shops and galleries to explore. This restaurant gives little house on the prairie vibes. It's a legit home that was converted into a restaurant with most the seating on an outdoor covered patio. Ramos House is all about the classics, so expect herbs from their outdoor garden, ice cream churned onsite, and a very small kitchen. They ask for patience as your food is being prepared, but I felt that this slow approach added to the overall atmosphere and gave us more time to enjoy each other's company. Since we visited post-hike, our heads were on a swivel as new items were delivered to nearby tables. Every menu item presented to us was more beautiful than the last. It was incredibly hard to narrow down to a single pick. Presentation really is a major part of their concept. From a giant marshmallow in the mocha to floating flowers in the champagne, there was a touch of magic in each dish. For food I ordered the hush puppies (small dish) and crab hash (main dish). Both items were prepared perfectly and large enough for two servings. In the future I'd plan to order different than my friends and share the dishes family-style. I know this is one of those restaurants I'll be recommending for years to come. Don't miss out if you're in the area!

Yelp
I have been coming here since I was a little girl. The food is always phenomenal! I used to love the massive marshmallows on their hot chocolate. Great memories here with family. Service is always wonderful. Ambiance is super neat. I feel like I'm in a different era!

Yelp
I would give this place 25 stars if I could. This is everything I wanted it to be and more. The staff is charming, the food is delicious, the ambiance made me want to stay till closing. I could definitely loose an afternoon there. A really neat new feature is that when you are done with brunch, you can walk over to the new River Street and make a day of shopping and have dinner. Definitely my new happy place.

Yelp
For the price point ($45 pp), I expected a lot more. It's a fun way to do brunch with interesting dishes, but at the end of the day there's just issues with quality. Maybe it was an off day, but everything was a little dry/overcooked. The sauces at the base of each dish did their best to save the dryness. The biscuit was good though! Great service and a very cute and cozy ambiance, but sadly that didn't make up for the food.

Yelp
My sister and I brought our visiting French cousins here for brunch several weeks ago. The decor, really lovely. The washroom, quaint and lovely. The service... not so good. While we lucked out and got seated right away, we then sat and sat and sat waiting to be acknowledged and place our drink order. Then we sat and sat waiting for someone, anyone, to come back and take our food order. (It was never the same girl in overalls twice). Then we sat for over 35 minutes waiting for our food and my sister's food came out after about another 7 or 8 minutes. To be fair, we noticed that we were not the only ones waiting excruciatingly long for our food. Once received, the meals were pretty, and decently portioned. However, my dish (crab hash) was not even remotely warm and had no flavor. Very disappointing. The biscuit that was suggested... don't waste your money. Overall, I'd say pass on this place and go to Sundried Tomato. For the money, you get better service and better food.

Yelp
First of all the restaurant was just over the top beautiful and cool. The food was even better. It's in an amazing area called Los Rios with plenty of great shops. Highly recommend setting aside 2-3 hours to eat here and shop around if you're visiting from out of town! The service was great even though our group was annoying and kept growing then shrinking in size.

Yelp
During this business trip to Southern California, I went with my client to his favorite Orange County brunch restaurant, Ramos House. Overall, the environment, food, and atmosphere are still pleasant, suitable for business or casual gatherings The dining atmosphere is warm and full of country charm, the floral embellishment of the courtyard adds a bit of elegance, and the pedestrian area near the railroad tracks also adds a unique atmosphere to the overall experience, suitable for relaxed communication In terms of dishes, the flannel chowder is still rich in flavor. Although the ingredients are not clear, the taste and seasoning are just right. The duck truffle cheese macaroni is very rich in flavor, and the truffle aroma blends with the cheese just right, which is impressive. It's a pity that I didn't try the biscuits with applesauce dip recommended by the client this time, but after many years, their persistence in the flavor and texture of the dishes is still worthy of recognition The service experience is good overall, the waiter is friendly and attentive, but the speed of serving is a little slow during peak hours. For business meals, a slightly faster pace would be more ideal Overall, Ramos House is still a recommended brunch restaurant, suitable for both personal dining and business meals with clients. If some improvements can be made in service efficiency and menu information, I believe it will be even better. I will consider coming again next time and continue to explore more delicacies

Yelp
Absolutely phenomenal restaurant, experience, and brunch!! I had been wanting to try Ramos House Cafe for quite some time. Mostly because it looked adorable, but also because every time I passed by it looks packed. After dining there, I completely understand why! We came on a Sunday, and were pleasantly surprised that we got a table in 30 minutes. The ambiance at the Ramos House is perfection. Every detail in the restaurant is unique, and well thought out. Even the bathrooms are so unique, it really adds to the overall experience! This restaurant is farm to table, and you can tell the food quality. We opted for the one small, one large plate option. We got hush puppies, and the lox for our small. The lox was arguably the best I have ever had. For the large, we ordered the crab salad and the crab scramble. Both were absolutely incredible. And the portions are so generous! We ordered a few coffees and drinks, and every time something came out we couldn't help but be so happy with the presentation. All servers in the restaurant are kind and beyond helpful, this place truly exceeded my expectations and I can't wait to bring family and friends here.

Yelp
The cafe is just beautiful and super homey. It's right on the tracks, but somehow seems like a little hidden tucked away spot. The menu seems limited, but the options are quality, and delicious. For the price and the farm-to-table aspect, I'm a little surprised it's so affordable. Servers were very sweet and checked on us frequently, also gave us their recommendations when we were torn. I got the Huevos Rancheros (with potato's instead of sausage; server coming in clutch) and my girl got the chicken salad that came with surprise cornbread biscuits. We're coming back for sure!

Yelp
Ramos House Cafe knows how to do GOOD food. 5 stars for their creative menu offering and cute little garden environment. We did the weekend $45 / person offering where you select one small plate and one large plate from a prefixe menu. Went with the salmon lox crostini for my small plate and the crab cakes for my large plate. Also tried the huevos rancheros large plate. Safe to say best and most unique salmon lox I have ever had. The crab cakes were loaded with crab and had delicious flavors. The huevos rancheros were unique and tasty. Overall, all the food portions were huge, ingredients were clean and fresh, and the taste was on point. Eating in the cute garden on a sunny afternoon elevated the brunch experience. Definitely a place to splurge and/or celebrate something special.

Yelp
Quaint location. Friendly servers. Good quality food and presentation. Nice to just take the train here and not worry about parking. Nearby new shops and eateries. A good place to spend a few hours with friends or loved ones.

Yelp
Cutest place! Went with girlfriend for brunch on a Sunday, short wait but nothing crazy. Everything was fresh and delicious. Started with a proper Irish coffee, had the crab hash for my large plate, and Basil Cured Salmon Lox w/ Toast Points & Baby Herbs for my small plate. My friend had the apple beignets and beef stew. Everything is so good that we only got a few pictures, too busy eating. Looking forward to returning to try all the options on the menu. Location is awesome - parking options are close by. Fun stores to walk around before or after nearby. Lots of history, overall great place.

Yelp
Brunch menu had a lot of options take your pick of a large plate and a small plate. Interesting beverage options too but I just went with coffee. Had the crab hash with eggs and bacon and the beignets and it was great. Attentive service and no wait for a table on a busy holiday!

Yelp
A walk back in time. Love this area. Fast, friendly service. Unique quality dishes. Brunch is prefixed with ample choices whatever your palate is. Outside or porch seating - all shaded. Quaint and lovely.

Yelp
Came here for brunch for the first time and will definitely be back! We came on a Saturday morning before it got too busy. On the weekends, it is a prefixed brunch menu. The menu was a little difficult to understand on whether or not non alcoholic drinks were included (they were not). We ordered the Crab Hash and Bacon Scramble, both of which were fantastic.

Yelp
What a beautiful and quaint restaurant. Absolutely loved every bit of this meal and the time spent with a loved one. We split the beignets. I ordered the summer vegetable hash and pretty much devoured the whole thing. I can't wait to come back.

Yelp
Super cute spot on the most charming street, they had a 2 course breakfast option, you get a ton of food, wish there were some smaller and healthier options but the ambiance and location was so beautiful.
