"In 2012, Rance’s Chicago Pizza opened its doors in Costa Mesa as a love letter to Chicago-style deep-dish pizza. Today, the restaurant offers three types of pizza — Pan, which features a thick, buttery crust; Stuffed, which has a rich layer of tomato sauce on top with toppings underneath; and Tavern, which is a crunchy, square-cut pizza. Not only are the dough and sauce made fresh daily, the shop also makes its own dressings — and the ranch has been a particular hit among diners. Some of the most popular pies include Rance’s Favorite pan pizza, which comes with pork meatballs, bacon, and jalapenos, and the hefty Carnivore stuffed pizza, which is referred to as the meat lover’s pie." - Cathy Park

Great experience at Rance’s! We had the supreme stuffed pizza and it was delicious, very filling. We went on a Saturday around lunch time, no wait, great service. Derek is a character, super friendly and helpful with the menu. If you’re starving, do not order the stuffed pizza, as it takes close to 45 min to prepare. The pizza was great, but it seemed they were a little light-handed on the toppings. One piece of pizza had a sausage or two, and very few veggies. A pizza that’s close to $40 should have an ample amount of toppings. Still highly recommended!

This Chicago-style pizza place delivers an authentic and unforgettable deep-dish experience. The pizza itself is a masterpiece: the cheese is indeed layered beneath the sauce, creating a unique and delicious flavor profile. The crust is perfectly flaky and packed with flavor, reminiscent of a delicate pastry. Beyond the pizza, the maple bourbon wings are a must-try, offering a delightful combination of sweet and savory flavors. With TVs playing sports throughout the restaurant, the wait time for this freshly-made pizza flies by. Overall, this establishment is a must-visit for any deep-dish pizza enthusiast. Five stars!

I’ve never tried a deep dish pizza and I guess I still haven’t! I tried the classic deep dish but it was the pan style so I hear that’s not the official deep dish style. But regardless it was so dang good. It still seemed like it had that deep dish feeling behind it, and we also tried some wings and everything came out in a timely manner. I also got to try an IPA but I only recognized the soda jerk machine for the beer, it wasn’t on the menu and the waitress apologized for leaving it off our selection but hey at least these peepers work and I was able to order a delicious voodoo ranger beer that just caught my eye. ;)

We recently dined at Rance's Chicago Pizza, hoping to enjoy some classic deep-dish. While the staff were friendly, our experience left much to be desired, especially regarding service, food quality, and overall satisfaction. First, the wait was incredibly long. Despite ordering two small and one large deep-dish pizzas, we waited over 45 minutes for our food, with no explanation for the delay. There were only 2 other tables there. When it finally arrived, we were excited by the presentation—the pizzas looked visually appealing, with vibrant layers of cheese, sauce, and toppings. However, the crust was a huge letdown. It tasted suspiciously like pre-made dough, similar to a store-bought, tube-style crust rather than the freshly-made, buttery crust we expected in a deep-dish pizza. On top of that, the crust and overall bake seemed undercooked. After waiting 45 minutes in the oven, it should have been thoroughly cooked, yet it was doughy and somewhat raw in parts, especially under the toppings. This became apparent when we both suffered from stomach issues later in the night, enduring severe diarrhea likely caused by the undercooked dough. Finally, a minor yet notable issue: when it came time to pay, the server handed the check to my date, despite my name being clearly printed on the card. This small act felt awkward and somewhat emasculating, making the end of the meal even less pleasant. Overall, while the presentation of Rance’s pizzas is enticing, the lengthy wait, questionable crust quality, and uncomfortable service left us disappointed. This experience was far from what we expected, and unfortunately, it’s not a place we’ll be revisiting. Total bill after 18% Tip was $100. Not worth it for me.

I’m rating these guys 5 stars about 5 minutes into my first visit, before I’ve received my pizza. They are a great crew: positive, helpful, and generous. The beer (805) is cold and and the salad is incredibly fresh and delicious. Cooper, Derek, Marlene, Jim, Dino, and Alex all rock. Thank you. Can’t wait to taste the pizza but it doesn’t matter - already worth the visit. UPDATE: The pizza (deep dish house special) is delicious. The best pizza currently available in the greater Los Angeles area. Dough Box was its equal but is no longer in business. I wish I could dial up the star knob to 11. To the owner - I appreciate what you’ve created. Make sure you give this crew a lot of love, because they represent your product beautifully. Without them, I wouldn’t have tasted your great pizza.

Absolutely delicious, I've been meaning to come here forever and was impressed by artichoke dip easily one of the best dips I've ever had

Google
I'm from Chicago and it's nice to find Chicago style deep dish pizza in the OC. The toppings are high quality and the pizza is fantastic. The place can get busy but the service is quick and friendly - keep in mind that it takes time to bake a deep dish pizza. The place is small and noisy, and there are TV screens showing sports events. If you want to kick back, watch the game, and have some pizza and beer, then this place is fine. If you want quiet dining, then pick up the food and dine at home or elsewhere.

Yelp
A place that never fails! Vibe is immaculate, with sports playing on all the screens. Service is incredible - they make sure that you know the best beers to purchase and make sure that you get the pizza that you've been craving. The ingredients are so fresh and delicious, the meal will leave you and your family filled up for a great price, and it'll be a place that y'all won't be able to stop talking about after visiting. The thickness yet flakiness of the curst makes this pizza one-of-a-kind. The pan crust is a must, it's better than some of the deep dish pizza we've tried in Chicago and it truly makes this place a can't miss location when in SoCal!

Yelp
It can be difficult to find a legit Chicago deep dish style pizza. Even in Chicago, there are plenty of rivalries and opinions about what is the best. I have always been more of a Gino's East guy than Lou Malnati's. Giodano's and Uno have their fans as well. I am sure there are other as well. To me a good Chicago deep dish pizza should have a biscuity crust. Rance's nails this. Their flavors and ingrediens are solid. We got the deep dish, not the stuffed. My one detraction was that there was way too much moisture in the pizza making the crust a bit soggier more quickly. There was literally a pool of flavorful liquid in the bottom of the pan after serving the first slice which can then seep under the bottom of the crust.

Yelp
With a high-ranking review like this, I bookmarked this place before lockdowns. I can finally try it. Service is cautious and friendly. Waited more than 1 hour for it. If you are hungry and need food right away? Don't go there. ---Rance's Favorite deep dish, Sausage, green peppers, onions, and mushrooms: It's like eating a wet quiche with tomato sauce and oily cheese. There weren't many sausages; they dashed some sausage nips on the top with not much onion either and lots of half-raw tasting mushroom slices. It's like drinking crushed tomato soup from a can on a bread bed with melted cheese. The broth makes the dough soggy. Tomato broth is also very salty. For a small pizza that costs around $50, with 20 minutes of driving and over an hour of waiting time? It's not worth it. Sometimes, the greater the hope, the deeper the well of disappointment.

Yelp
Ordered takeout from Rance's Chicago Pizza and loved it!! I ordered the classic cheese deep dish. I feel like a simple pie is the best way to see if a place is legit! The top part of this pizza is definitely the crust! The crust is buttery, thick, and rich. The sauce is also on point at Rance's. I know there isn't a whole lot of deep dish spots in OC, but this one should be near the top of the list!

Yelp
I really enjoyed this pizza.. I am a huge pizza lover, when I called for order, the employee was super nice and was informative.. I mention I am a first-timer to their location.. thats when instructions and information was provided.. I will try this place again.. I love Chicago style pizza. The place was open, clean and plan environment, nothing fancy, a tank top and flip flop ambiance.

Simon K.

Yelp
They brought back the artichoke dip. It was fine but it used to be much better. It used to be chunky and have stringy melted cheese. Now it's all granulated including the cheese.

Ken L.

Yelp
We tried this pizza restaurant because we heard that they had gluten free pizza. It comes in one size (10"), but it was one of the best GF Pizzas that we have ever had. We chose two toppings. Spinach and mushrooms. The crust was nice and crispy and the amount of cheese and toppings were generous. Our server, Liz, was delightful and very attentive. We couldn't have been happier with this restaurant. The restaurant was also very clean and nicely decorated. It's kind of tucked away, so it can be hard to locate. Fortunately Google maps helps! It's definitely worth making the effort to find it.

Yelp
Who doesn't want a deep dish Chicago pizza in Cali? My friend took me and my girlfriend here for late lunch to celebrate our birthday. The place is clean, well-lit, and spacious. It feels like a bar/family-oriented restaurant. All TV's were on with some sports game with average noise level. Staffs greet you with their warm hello as soon as you get in. Liz was our server and she was awesome. Service was excellent. We ordered Carnivore Deep Dish, Thin Crust Spicy Hawaiian, 2 salads (I think one is Mediterranean salad) and Cal Squeeze Blood Orange Beer (delicious). FYI: DEEP DISH takes a very longgggg time to make. There's a 40-50 min wait. So don't come like a raging Tasmanian devil if you wanna try their deep dish . They do have a variety of appetizers to choose from while waiting. Both Carnivore Deep Dish and Spicy Hawaiian tasted so good. I wish I could eat more but a slice of the deep dish alone was more than enough. Prepare to take some food home. We had a wonderful experience dining in here. Liz constantly check on our table if we ever need anything. The place starts to get busy around 6pm. I will definitely come back.

Yelp
Had high hopes. Just alright really. Nothing to rave about. I have had better deep dish pizza (Tony's Little Italy for example). We were pretty disappointed overall. I will start with the appetizers. We ordered the cheesy garlic bread and the spinach salad. The cheesy garlic bread lacked flavor and tasted like cardboard. The spinach salad was good; flavorful with the cheese and cranberries. The pan pizza was half pineapple/ mushrooms and half black olives/ pepperoni was subpar. The pizza dough was soggy underneath. And the crust had no taste and was crunchy. The marinara sauce was basically chunky tomatoes. Not good. All together it just wasn't good. My partner and I both ate a piece and threw the rest away.

Yelp
If Rance's Chicago pizza is this delicious, I can't even imagine how pizza in actual Chicago is. Rance's is FIRE. I've always passed by Rance's and heard great things about it. I'm a big NY pizza fan and always just assumed that NY pizza was better than Chicago pizza since I love that thin crust. Boy am I confused now that I've finally tried Chicago pizza lol. We ordered a Caesar's salad, Spicy Thai wings, and a couple stuffed pizzas for the table. We knew the pizzas were going to take awhile just because of the thick crust, which is why we ordered the appetizers to munch on. Wow everything was so delicious. The Caesar's salad had a bunch of dressing, the chicken wings were juicy and had a great flavor, and all the stuffed pizzas were heavenly. You can tell they use very fresh ingredients and the crust was super buttery and flaky! We got full super quick which was fine cuz then we were able to take them home for leftovers hehe. The man who served us (Derek) was awesome and happily answered any questions we had. I also loved their beers on tap which had included a Mango IPA that we all ordered. Can't wait to come back!! Maybe not anytime too soon though just cuz it's super filling LOL

Yelp
Personally can't recall ever going to Chicago and burying myself in one of their pies but once I got pizzas on my mind.. and this place was introduced I had to swim in it. This deep dish of solid marinara with generous cubes of chunkkkyyyy tomato-- I have never had this much cheese and not feel like a casserole meatball. But this is indeed a deep dish pizza. One I cannot eat with just my hands and expect for it to not be a mess. And that crust... I want it. I just want all the crust of all the pizzas with remnants of creamy crushed tomatoes. Can I nap in this shizzz already?!? But DO expect a long wait for your incredibly freshly baked pies. Order online and arrive within five minutes of when they say it would be ready. So make sure you're like 40 minutes less hungry than you're actually gonna ever touch a crust. But man is it worth the damn wait. That crust does a fantastic job holding its caramelized shape and buttery-roux-sablé bottom. Just holding one feels like you're the proud papa of at least one Italian slicked back hair newspaper boy. Or toothpick-chewing wiseass. A solid piece of circular mozzarella. Interior is small so, plan ahead. Website-- easier. Sauces are 1.50 extra per 4 oz. cups. Supposedly the best ranch. But I'm a balsamic vinegar gal or BBQ like my white trash Carolinians.

Yelp
Work across the street so I thought I'd try the place out. Ordered a Tavern Personal Pizza w/ pepperoni well done. The woman was very kind, and the pizza tasted good but would have been a lot better if it has dough. I expected thin crust but I mean, this thing was paper thin. Originally 11 bucks for 4 little slices seemed expensive, but it did fill me up so for a small pizza place, its actually quite reasonable. I'll probably come back again and try a different pizza n see how those are. Still worth a visit in

Irene Z.

Yelp
Looked really good in photos but we were not pleased. The sauce doesn't have a good flavor and its too... wet. The bottom of the pizza was completely soggy on both pizzas. The "meatballs" in the sauce were questionable. We ordered 2 pizzas and only ate 2 slices total. The wings had good flavor but ultimately too sweet. After 2 you kind of have to stop.

Claudia S.

Yelp
The deep dish pizza, with tons of tomato and cheese, is absolutely delicious. We tried the meat lovers. Rance's and Tony's pizza are the best deep dish pizza places in OC. Period. (It does take 1 hour to bake, though, so we order in advance and then get there 15 minutes before it's supposed to be ready!) Ambiance could improve, but that will not deter us from visiting again and again.

Jharvis L.

Yelp
I went here last month to meet a friend visiting from out of town. We shared a medium deep dish with pepperoni and sausage. I've been here three times before -- twice for company lunches and a third for lunch with friends on my last day of work on the Santa Ana area. The workers here are really friendly, cool, and chill. The food itself is awesome, and a friend who is a Chicago native says that Rance's tastes just like home. The other place that he also recommends is Little Tony's in Placentia. I live about 35 miles from Rance's, so heading out to the area is for special occasion now that I no longer work in the area. I'd definitely recommend this place if you've never had Chicago-style pizza or are curious as to how it tastes. The deep dish is on the saucier and tomato-ish side, but it's still awesome. If you're not into sauce or tomato as much, I believe the thin crust is worth a try, but I've never had it. I hope this place survives and does well as it's just a good vibe and ambiance, great staff, and great food. Enjoy!

Yelp
Deep dish pizza in Orange County! For appetizers, we ordered the garlic cheesy breadsticks and dry wings with the spicy Thai sauce and ranch on the side. The garlic cheesy breadsticks were pretty good, but nothing special and definitely more cheesy than garlicky (I prefer more garlicky). But it was still delicious especially with the marinara sauce, and I know it will be a good snack for leftovers :) The wings were seasoned nicely and they were juicy! The spicy Thai sauce was a peanut sauce that was actually really good and not super spicy. However, I thought the flavor profile did not really match the rest of the meal so I wouldn't get it again. But it's okay because I enjoyed the wings without any type of sauce. :) We ordered a 9" cheese pan pizza. The crust is buttery and flakey, it was it was almost pastry-like. I have never had a pizza crust like this, and I thought it was so unique. :) Even in a deep dish pizza, the bottom layer of crust was not soggy and did not flop when I held the pizza. When you take your first bite, you will notice a thick layer of cheese that caused a beautiful cheese pull! Although there's a lot of cheese, I didn't find it overwhelming at all as it wasn't too salty or oily. So at the end of the meal, you don't feel too full or heavy. We opted for the smooth marinara as we don't like chunky sauce. There was a dollop of sauce on top of the layer of cheese. I like my pizza saucy, so I would say I needed more sauce than what it came with (that's really just a personal preference). I used the marinara dipping sauce that came with the breadsticks The online menu states that it could take 45 minutes from ordering for the pizza to be ready, so we placed our order ahead of time online. It was ready just on time when we arrived, and we chose to dine in. We just had to tell the staff that we placed a take-out order but want to dine in. I have little patience when it comes to food and can't wait that long, so I appreciate that they place that message on their website so customers know what to expect. But there are tasty appetizers and plenty of drinks to keep you satiated while you wait for your pizza if you don't mind waiting and choose to order when you get there. I probably would not come back because I don't usually go for deep dish pizza, but I'm glad I tried and had a good experience here :)

Yelp
If you're looking to get your Chicago style deep dish fix look no further. Rance's Pan pizza with their buttery crust sure will satisfy your cravings. Got the 12" for our family of 4 adults and we still had left overs coz it's so yummy and filling! We had little kiddos so best to get it as take out so you don't have to wait in the restaurant for 45min or so

Lauren C.

Yelp
The pizzas here are humungous and actually weigh a ton. If you want a cheat meal to real count ... this is definitely it. It's super greasy and heavy but it is tasty. Get ready for a nap, because it will put you in a food coma and all you're going to want to do is nothing. We ordered here for a small get together and there was not one person who was still hungry - it's very filling!!! And there were plenty of leftovers.

Yuri O.

Yelp
Our dine-in experience was initially enjoyable, with Natalie, our server, providing friendly and helpful service during our first visit. We ordered a salad and two pizzas, thin crust and deep dish, and later packed up the leftovers to share with family. Unfortunately, a few hours later, I experienced food poisoning, and my brother found a piece of cardboard in the deep dish. My husband contacted the restaurant, informing the manager of the situation and emailed the photo of the cardboard baked into the pizza slice upon request. Despite providing evidence, the manager seemed to be doubting us, suggesting it was probably the pizza box liner. We clarified that their liners are white, while the cardboard was brown. The manager told us he would let his boss know and call us back. The manager's boss contacted us and asked if it was the pizza box liner because the manager had told him that it was. We explained that it wasn't and he requested that we email him the photo as well. Despite enjoying our dine-in and understanding that mistakes happen, the manager's handling of the situation and miscommunication with his boss left us frustrated. While hesitant to leave a negative review, the unnecessary complications soured an otherwise pleasant experience.

Yelp
If you're craving some authentic Chicago deep dish pizza, this is as close as you'll get in California. Now, it's not exactly the same, but hey, we can't teleport the whole city here, can we? So, here's my recommendation: order the pizza and then try their wings. Trust me, they are the bomb! The sauce on those wings is finger-lickin' good. Just be careful not to let your girlfriend catch you licking them, unless you want to explain yourself later. Now, fair warning, if you're in a hurry, getting a Chicago-style pizza here might take around 40 minutes. It's probably best to order takeout if you're on a time crunch. There's usually a line during peak hours and on weekends. But fear not, they have a great selection of beers on tap and a few TVs to help pass the time while you wait. Oh, and let me debunk what the other reviewers say about the service. In my experience, the service here rocks! Our waitress was on top of everything, from refilling our drinks to cleaning our table. Top-notch service, I tell ya! Trust me, it's worth the wait.

Tom S.

Yelp
First time I've had Chicago pizza in a very long time. This pizza was amazing. Plus the service was excellent, especially our waitress, Natalie. It takes a long time to get it to you, but it is definitely worth it if you're in the mood for Chicago style pizza

Justin K.

Yelp
If Chicago pizza is your thing, this place won't disappoint! My wife had been craving deep dish pizza for a while. I'm typically a NY style, thin crust type of guy. So honestly, I didn't really care for finding a Chicago style pizzeria. However, I decided to look up a place to take my wife so that she can satisfy her craving of getting a deep dish pizza. Pro tip: order your pizza online before making the drive over here! It will literally take about 45 minutes from the time of order before your pizza is ready. I took my own advice and place my order before making the drive over here. We got here and we saw a few tables that had customers sitting and waiting for their pizza for who knows how long. I got in, told them that I ordered online, and within 5 minutes, our pizza was out. Everyone was looking like "how in the world did you get your pizza so fast...?!" Anyways... we got the smallest "stuffed" size pizza they offered. We got the CSP pizza and a salad as well. I believe it was a spinach cranberry walnut salad? Either way, the salad was bomb. It had so many candied walnuts on it. It was a fantastic salad with an amazing dressing. We both loved the salad. The pizza was great too! LOTS of cheese... we were both shocked by how much cheese was on the pizza, but hey! It is truly a Chicago style pizza. We knew what we were getting ourselves into. The pizza was flavorful and thick. Honestly, one slice would have been plenty. But we couldn't take it home, so we tried to power through the second slice as best as we could. I would love to come here again another time to enjoy the pizza and bring the rest home for another meal. The staff was nice, the pizza was good, the salad was great. Overall, a great experience! Come here if you're craving a Chicago styled deep dish pizza!

David D.

Yelp
I called in my order because most of their pizzas take about 45 minutes to make my wife and I have been eating here for years and they never disappoint!! The service and staff are amazing!! It's a great place for when the weather is cool and the food is amazing! I highly recommend this place!

Tu-Quyen P.

Yelp
The best deep dish pizza in Southern California that holds up against the best in Chicago itself. Incredible buttery crust, great tomato sauce, and fresh ingredients combine to make the perfect Chicago-style deep dish pizza. The appetizers are all excellent as well, loved the combo of the Thai wings with their ranch dip and the Bacon Maple Bourbon wings with their blue cheese dip. The artichoke dip is a flavor bomb and less creamy and more true artichoke flavor. Can't wait to go back!

Chris B.

Yelp
Went in on a Tuesday evening recently and decided on a regular crust BBQ Chicken pie based on my amazing server Alexa's recommendation. Had a couple cold draught beers while I briefly waited for it and was very pleased with the finished product.. Will def be back!!

Andrea P.

Yelp
Still the best deep dish pizza in OC. The wait for stuffed pizza is pretty long (45 minutes) so I will be sure to call ahead next time. Had salad and beer while we waited.

Nadine G.

Yelp
Best Chicago style pizza in the area. Love the pie crust. So SO good! I like that their deep dish isn't really dough-y. Their thin crust pizzas are are very tasty. This rances has way better customer service than the one in Long Beach which has been hit or miss depending on who is there. The only reason I took off a star was that as a to go order most recently was not as good as I remembered but I'm hoping it was a fluke and doesn't mean their food quality is now inconsistent.

Jessie A.

Yelp
Rance's Chicago Pizza has become a new go-to in our household! We visited Chicago a few months ago and were craving some tavern and deep dish pizza and found this place local to us. The pizza is hands down the best Chicago style in the area, and we can't forget to mention the Maple Bourbon Chicken Wings. These wings are always seasoned and cooked to perfection, we ordered 6 orders in one sitting (not kidding). Our waiter Derek was very attentive and such a welcoming energy, we will definitely be back to Rance's soon.

Annalisa F.

Yelp
disappointed i hadn't visited this place sooner...the pizza and wings were just so delicious and full of flavor. i'm getting hungry just thinking about it. also another great perk of this place is the beer selection. can't get any better than that. service was top tier and our server was definitely on top of making sure we were fully satisfied. will be coming again :))

Yelp
The first visit of my life happened here this week, and I am stoked to go again soon enough. Recommended by a friend, and there was no let down. I was craving pizza, but not some basic main stream pizza. This beauty rests between two other restaurants, ample parking for all - not busy during my weekday lunch. They have three styles of pizza. I got a medium stuffed pizza, and made it a carnivore style (stuffed with pepperoni, sausage, canadian bacon). These slices are no joke in size and taste. I ate two and took the rest home. Being topped with a layer of seasoned tomatoes adds a nice healthy feel to it. I also got the garlic cheese bread. I died after the first bite, pure perfection. I almost didn't even want to use the marinara sauce they included - the taste of the garlic cheese bread was just too good. Cooper was the employee that helped out the whole way. Awesome guy, knows their food, great recommendations - I hope the guy is working his way up the ladder... Whether dining in or taking to go, I highly recommend calling your order in first to avoid any long wait. They estimate some pizza orders can take up to 45-50 minutes, so prepare yourselves. Let it be known, the wait will be worth it. Arrive hungry and get your fill.

Archie S.

Yelp
Rance's has a few locations around the Orange County area. They are known for the Chicago style deep dish pizza and pan pizza. When you get seated they explain to you what types of pizzas they have available. I do enjoy deep dish pizzas but usually after one or two slices you are just done with it. I decided to get the pan pizza with pepperoni, sausage and pineapple. It takes about 40 mins to come out so I got the spinach and cranberry salad to start. The salad was simple, and served its purpose as a healthy alternative to what was going to be consumed next. The pizza came out but I was slightly thrown off by the tomato sauce over it as in the description it didn't say that for the pan pizza. I the crust was nice but I definitely would have hoped the tomato sauce wasn't over it as the toppings do get slightly soggy underneath it. Will definitely try their thin crust next time. Service was good and they have TVs here for people that want to watch their sports.

Sandra L.

Yelp
I am still so impressed with the deep dish pizza from Rance's Chicago Pizza! It is flavorful and very filling. It may not be for everyone, but I love that their crust is a blend of cornmeal because it gives it extra flavor and crisp. The smell of their pizza makes me happy. I never dine in - always pick up to go and warm it in the oven at home before serving. I go the extra mile and heat it up on a hot cast iron skillet so that the crust stays dry and crispy. Another impressive thing about their pizza is their sauce and cheese. The tomato sauce is out of this world amazing! Chunky tomatoes that have been perfectly simmered in herbs is what you'll get with any pizza you order here. The mozzarella cheese is stretchy and they really pack it in when you order the pan (deep dish) pizza. There are two types of pan pizza - stuffed or regular pan. They described it to me that stuffed has an extra dough layer to separate the sauce and cheese whereas the pan does not have that separation. I find that the regular pan is saucier and stuffed is cheesier. I recommend either one because you'll still get that lovely crust, amazing sauce, yummy cheese, and whatever toppings you choose. My favorite speciality flavor to get here is Rance's Favorite. Personal Pan is offered during lunch time from opening until 3pm everyday. It's a great deal at $9.50 and $0.50 for each topping. Their deep dish pizza is very filling. Don't let their physical size fool you because it is very heavy. I usually get a small ($24) and it takes my hubby and I three meals to finish it. Love this place and so happy that they have kept up their quality over the years!

Yelp
I almost don't want to write a review because that'll bring extra attention here, and I don't want to fight others or deal with a longer wait the next time I go to Costa Mesa. But this place, it's soooo good. I've been looking for Chicago style pizza and have been meaning to check out the Long Beach location but it's never worked out. By chance I discovered this location, and it's going to be my go-to every time I visit Costa Mesa now. It's been a week and I can still appreciate the quality and taste of my deep dish pepperoni pizza. So. Dang. Good.

Yelp
I recently enjoyed dining at Rance's Chicago Pizza and indulging in their pizza and chicken wings. I must say, it was a delightful experience that deserves a solid 4/5 stars. First, let's talk about the pizza. We ordered Rance's Favorite Thin Crust 10" Pizza. The crust was perfectly crisp on the outside, yet soft and chewy on the inside, just the way I like it. The tomato sauce had a rich, robust flavor that complemented the meatballs, bacon, and jalapeno beautifully. Whether you're a fan of classic pepperoni or adventurous with toppings like BBQ chicken, they have something for everyone. The pizza was cooked to perfection giving it that authentic and rustic taste. Now, onto the chicken wings. There were only 3 sauce options available. We ordered Rance's Famous Wings Spicy Thai Flavor. The order comes with 6 wings. Oh boy, these were fantastic! They were crispy on the outside and incredibly juicy on the inside. The first bite was sweet then it had a spiciness kick in at the end. The spice was not overwhelming at all. They were finger-licking good! The service was prompt and attentive, making the overall dining experience even more enjoyable. The ambiance was spacious and welcoming, making it a great spot for a casual dinner with friends or family. However, I deducted one star because I found the prices slightly on the higher side. While the food and service quality is excellent, it might not be the go-to spot for budget-conscious diners. In conclusion, if you're craving delicious pizza and mouthwatering chicken wings, Rance's Chicago Pizza is a solid choice. It's a great place to satisfy your comfort food cravings, and I recommend it to fellow food enthusiasts.

Yelp
This is one good pizza. If you are looking to satisfy your craving for pizza, this is it. I'd recommend the House stuffed deep dish with pepperoni (extra topping), take-and-bake (half-baked in shop). You bring that baby home and bake the rest in a 450 degree oven, 15-18 minutes. Now, I got a large ($47) for 2 people, specifically to have a lot of leftovers. One or maybe two slice of this and you are full. You put some in the fridge and some in the freezer. Reheat in the oven as you go or air fry it. I'd recommend leaving the pizza out in room temp to get the cold out a bit, as you can burn or dry out the crust trying to thoroughly heat the thick pizza. Their tomato sauce is so good. Not salty, chunky, and just full of flavor. Their veggies are cut with thickness and give you a bite, unlike those paper-thin slices at Pizza Hut. I order Pizza Hut for convenience but it never gives me the satisfaction. They sell other staple items like wings, salads, bread sticks, and sandwiches. If you are in the area, definitely go. If you are not in the area, make it a trip to get the take-and-bake. I took 1 star off as the high cost could discourage purchase. The smaller sizes are cheaper but you should expect to spend as if you are at a sit-down restaurant, not your local pizza parlor.

Yelp
I love it, sooo good, I got the lunch special deep dish with Cesar salad. Plenty flavor and love

Yelp
The food was good and so was the service. I just wasn't ready for the crust. Again overall a positive review. Just know that if you get the thick crust it's not what you would expect

Yelp
What can i say!? *This pizza spot was amazing! *The customer service was through the roof! The pizza was absolutely delicious. We got a total of 2 pizzas and 2 sides of wings. Bourbon and Buffalo. The wings looked okay, but WOW! The flavor was amazing (looks can definitely be deceiving). I'd definitely order the wings again!!! The placed looked packed but the ambiance was cozy and friendly ! One pizza feeds 7 persons! One slice is enough! Haha and hot wings

Yelp
The buffalo wings (no photo) were INCREDIBLE. The sauce is filled with seasonings and is just so tasty Pecan, Cran, Feta salad was really refreshing and tasty. They make their own dressing & it is filled with fresh green spinach. Deep dish pan style pizza - I was not incredibly impressed. We got 1/2 pep & 1/2 ssg...their was very little meat & just seemed to be wayyy too much cheese-crust ratio...The tomato sauce, seemed kinda sweet to us too... When we come back, we will try their other style pizzas and def enjoy that salad again! Service was excellent and quick/efficient even with the long wait times for cooking the pizza (45 min)

Yelp
First time visiting this location in Costa Mesa. Great atmosphere, the location was clean and the employees were outstanding. Awesome customer service and great knowledge of the items they are selling. As a New Yorker I'm not normally a Chicago style pizza fan. This is the place to go in Orange County if you want a Chicago style pan pizza. The pizzas take up to 45 minutes so it might be better to order ahead if not enjoy their large selection of beers/wine, Our food was delivered piping hot and again the customer service was outstanding. You can get a crushed tomato topping or a regular pizza sauce topping which I might suggest. Overall this is a great place to eat and I highly recommend it.

Yelp
The pizza was meh. Picked up to go, and on our way home it was leaking a whole lot. Greasy goodness being wasted on the paper it was sitting on and also leaked thru the box. Was hoping for a soft chewy crust but it was kinda rock hard. Flavor was kinda there, texture was just not for me.

Yelp
Overall it was okay. On the plus side the online ordering was convenient and it was ready in 45 minutes as advertised. The person working the counter was friendly. I had to double check my order to make sure I didn't accidentally order a thin crust pie. Sure enough what you're looking at is their version of Chicago deep dish. Crust texture was good and the sauce flavor too. Just didn't smack me as Chicago style. Wouldn't not recommend for a deep dish pie.

Yelp
Heard about this place when I moved from Chicago a few years ago. The stuffed pizza is very good & on par with what I'm used to in the city, Their thin crust, tavern style cut js equally as good. Wait time normally 45 minutes to an hour, pretty standard for good pizza. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
Wonderful service and the best pizza restaurant in the whole wide world!! I definitely will come back over there again!!! Thank you all so much for everything!! 5 stars is exactly my total rating!!!!

Yelp
I don't know how I feel about this place. It's not chicago thin crust, but they make it in house. It unfortunately had a taste that seemed like it was premade, something I couldn't place. Maybe the dough is more mixed with more of a pie crust.... Didn't try the deep dish so I can't knock it, but I guarantee it's not like Lou's back in Chi. Ha. Their maple wings were BOMB though. And the ranch was homemade and very very good!

Yelp
Found them on instagram. I've been having dreams out trying their pizza however when I tried it I was disappointed it wasn't what I imagined in my mind, however there salads I tried Cesar salad and one with feta cheese they were the best salads I've ever tried and Iam not a salad person but I would go back for the salad we ordered the two salads and small deep dish pizza , and panini for 3 people and we were stuffed one salad can easily feed 3. I ended up with half of each salad and 2 slices of pizza. Will go back probably for salad and to try the wings I read another review and they said they were good so I got to give them a chance. salads 5 out of 5 both Cesar and feta salad Panini 3 out of 5 chicken and pesto Pizza 2.5 out of 5 small deep dish pep

Yelp
The deep fish Chicago style pizza so darn good , but those maple bacon chicken wings are incredible.

Yelp
I found this place a few years ago pre covid, used to be amazing 10/10 the server is super friendly and informative has great beer recommendations and is always quick with a joke, I don't know his name but that has never changed! The pizza has gone down a tiny bit since covid but still amazing and definitely worth trying out!!!! I recommend no topping or at least no meat the oils from the pepperoni do something weird to the cheese, but trust me it does not need topping the sauce and crust and cheese has so much amazing flavor already, no need to make and changes!

Yelp
Great pizza, delicious maple bourbon wings, and tons of beers on tap, including Midwestern favorites like Bells Two Hearted and Oberon. Deep dish grew on me during the few years I spent in Chicago and I'm happy that there's a spot here in SoCal to enjoy it!

Yelp
Its Chicago style pizza, stuffed and delicious! I highly recommend this place for a cheat day lol
