The Best Restaurants on Portland’s Southeast Division Street - Eater Portland

"The newest outpost of a burgeoning Detroit-style pizza empire, Ranch PDX Southeast shares a space with Baerlic Brewing’s vast taproom. With plenty of seating, the combination of the two establishments makes for an ideal, low-key date night. Ranch PDX serves its pizzas by the pie or the quarter, that latter of which works out to two triangular slices of saucy, crusty joy." - Nick Townsend, Thom Hilton

Baerlic Brewing and Ranch Pizza Have Opened a New Pizza ‘Beer Garden’ Indoors - Eater Portland

"Ranch Pizza, a top Portland pizzeria, had just opened a new location in a Happy Valley food hall weeks before the new Baerlic “piehall” opened its doors. The pop-up-turned-pizza-giant brings its five staple pies to the table, along with a rotating special pizza and two salads. Diners can order a full pie or opt for a quarter, which equates to two large slices. One of the permanent pies is “The #4,” which comes fully loaded with sausage, pecorino romano, calabrian chilies, ricotta, pecorino romano, basil, and aged mozzarella." - Ron Scott

Love this place! It’s Ranch Pizza and a bar/beer place - Baerlic - in one, it’s very spacious so it’s great if you’re in a bigger group. The pizza is absolutely amazing, it’s super yummy and the size is huge, and the service is always great.

Very solid Detroit pizza! This is attached to a Baerlic Taproom, so it also has a lot of beer/cider/NA drink options within the space. Dogs welcome outside, they’ve got projectors that they use to show sports & such. Neighborhood parking, so it can be a little difficult to find a close spot sometimes but usually not more than a few blocks away. They’ve got a ramp & easy access to patios and such.

The sevice at the bar was great. The bartenders where helpful and seemed very happy to serve their customers. The beer was cold and the pizza was too notch. We ordered a pepperoni and added mushrooms and sausage. We really enjoyed it. We sat inside at a picnic table but there where also booths, table tops and some outdoor seating. It was a great place to have some pizza a beer and good company.

Awesome pizza! I love the thick, almost foccacia like crust. It gets nice and crunchy on the edges. They don't skimp on toppings and you get house made ranch with every pizza. I appreciate that they cut the square pizza the same as a round pizza. I prefer square pizza but hate when it's cut in square pieces so there are pieces with no crust. That's lame. Definitely one of my favorite spots to get a thick pizza with a lot of toppings. Price is a bit high so not an every day pizza but definitely a once a month treat.

Here’s a quick NED-style review of Ranch PDX – Southeast (Portland, OR): --- ✅ What Works Well - Detroit-Style Pizza: Known for thick, rectangular pies with crispy, caramelized edges and fluffy dough — a standout in Portland’s pizza scene. - Signature Red Sauce: House-made sauce is added after baking (“sauce on top”), giving a rich, bold flavor without sogginess. - Toppings & Quality: Creative but balanced — favorites include pepperoni, sausage, mushroom, and veggie combos. - Crust Texture: Fluffy inside, crispy outside — consistently praised. - Great for Takeout: Travel-friendly pies hold up well, and reheating works too. --- 👎 What to Watch Out For - Limited Dine-In: The SE location (typically on 10th & Morrison) has minimal indoor seating — mostly takeout-focused. - Pricey: Higher than average per pizza, but quality and portion (heavy square slices) generally justify it. - Wait Times: Made to order, so expect a 20–30 min wait during peak hours. Pre-ordering helps. - Not Traditional NY Style: If you're expecting foldable slices or thin crust, this isn’t it. --- 🎯 Verdict Ranch PDX – SE is one of Portland’s top spots for Detroit-style pizza — ideal for serious pizza lovers who appreciate crispy, cheesy edges and bold flavor.

Very low key, relaxed atmosphere. Decent beer list. Good toppings on a thick crust. Comes with ranch dressing. No table service. You go up to order, get your beveridges, and bus your table. Friendly staff. We were excited when we first walked in - it looked like they play vinyl. I think they may sell albums, but they didn't play any. Family friendly. Parking is subject to availability. We parked on the street a couple of blocks away. Good stop. We found them on google.

As someone from New York, that has never gone to Detroit. This is by far the best Detroit style pizza I’ve had. Great crisp crust and high quality ingredients. Folks are always super nice and accommodating at this ranch. They do sides of any sauce they have. Beaverton Ranch, can’t say the same for. They don’t do side sauces when you ask and they don’t cook their pizza long enough. If you want the best Ranch Pizza has to offer, come to this location.

Fabulous Detroit style pizza! We came here in the middle of a road trip to meet up with our Portland Friends and the service is fast and easy. You order your pizza at one area and then you go over and you can order your beer n bevs at another. There was lots of tables and chairs for a group of six to sit comfortably. The pizza is flavorful and luscious, but light somehow. Didn’t gut bomb me. Any of the pizzas with Calabrian chilies have a really great kick to them! The ranch is just as lovely as they say, on the dill side, and the herb vinaigrette was also the perfect thing to dunk pizza into.
