I was so excited to go here. I love Detroit style pizza and wanted this to be good. It is my favorite style of pizza. It just wasn't good at all. I feel like they pre-cook the crust, and then just add toppings after you order and throw it in the oven. The crust was just not good. The toppings were tasty but the crust makes the pizza. The lady working there looked like she would rather be anywhere else but there. Such a disappointment.

Google
Very disappointed. 1st time trying Ranch pizza. As you can see from the pictures, it was completely different from what we got. Pizza was dry, hardly any sauce & cheese. 1st picture is what was on the website and the 2nd picture is what we got. Not good. Especially for how much it cost.

I didn't think that you could make a pile of garbage and call it pizza. Everything from the gross toppings to the nasty sauce. It's hard to believe that someone was encouraged to start a pizza restaurant. My dog didn't even eat it. This place needs to just move on far from the food industry.

Google
Food was good but girl that helped us was very unenthusiastic. She seemed young. I’m a server and I can’t imagine acting like that. If you want better tips, maybe smile. Or at least act like you’re not hating your life being there. There was no one eating here at the time.

Google
The pizzas were delicious. My wife loved the pineapple and I loved the sausage and ricotta. The Ceasar needed salt, maybe more parm would have helped. Overall the “family side” is a bit sterile. Most of the walls are bare. Huge selection of beers and ciders. Cocktails in draft is a plus.

Google
DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU ARE VEGAN OR VEGETARIAN. Came specifically asking for vegan pizza. Ordered a vegan slice with veggie pepperoni and pineapple and they served me REAL pepperoni. When I asked about it the cook tells me it’s real pepperoni like it’s the most normal thing then proceeds to try and justify the careless teen who took my order claiming “maybe she thought it was just a dairy thing.” In what planet do you make the assumption that someone eats meat when they come specifically asking for vegan pizza? In 13 years of not eating meat this is the first time I end up accidentally eating meat because of someone else’s carelessness. Will never go back to this place, not to mention the complete lack of empathy from the employees was disturbing.

I have a hard time with West Coast pizza being from the Northeast. This is hands-down the best pizza I’ve had in the PNW. It’s Detroit-style, which is similar (but different) than Sicilian pizza. We liked it so much that we ordered a pie to bring home. And their ranch dressing is amazing. My only gripe is that I wish they had more varieties. Definitely give it a try!

Hannah Bays

Google
The most delicious pizza in Happy Valley. We treat everyone from out of town here and they all rave as well. Can’t go wrong with taking the family here or having a date night.

Cheri S.

Yelp
Love this pizza! The crust is amazing and the sauce is so flavorful, all the toppings are quality ingredients. This is my new favorite place for pizza! Be sure and try the breadsticks too!

Quang L.

Yelp
The boys and I are regulars at Public Valley House and Ranch is the best there (also best pizza in Happy Valley), especially to share. There is plenty of seating. The half & half with #4 and pepperoni with sides of ranch is a solid choice. Quality is pretty consistent but the wait time for pizza is pretty long and could be better.

Sam T.

Yelp
Stop what you're doing and get yourself into the pizza night train. Not that regular circular pizza, yes, the new square pizza is in town and it's absolutely delicious. When I want to treat myself out to pizza, Ranch is the place TO GO! Friendly staff and big court hall next to a bar makes a great place to dine and drink! Plenty of parking and spacious venue for people of all ages.

Sidney C.

Yelp
pizza was delicious! I preferred the pineapple over the #4. Their ranch was also great to pair with the pizzas. Also ordered their Caesar salad which I recommend skipping. I felt like the cabbage wasn't washed - tasted super bitter but their dressing was not bad

Yelp
We have been looking for a new pizza place near us. We like Detroit style so decided to give this place a shot. We spent $35 (with 20% tip) on a whole pepperoni pizza. The pizza was smaller than I expected for being a whole pie. It tasted good but not great. For comparison I get the frozen Detroit motor city pizza from Costco 2 pizzas for about $15. My wife and our friends all felt the Ranch pizza was only marginally better than the frozen one from Costco. Definitely not worth the extra cash. Additionally, a Costco pizza from the snack bar is on par with Ranch. I placed my order online and was told 40 minute wait. I got there at 35 minutes and my pizza was already done and only lukewarm. This might be the online ordering systems fault. No stars lost for this since I can't say for sure it was their issue. In short, Ranch is spendy for what you get and not much better than frozen or Costco pizza. It's not worth it overall.

Yelp
We've been here twice now. This pizza is different in great ways... like fresh focaccia bread with the most amazing pizza sauce. The cook on the crust is so incredible, like it's fried but not. I've fallen in love with this pizza. Coming back for more soon!

Lizette C.

Yelp
Excellent food and location. Love that there's a covered indoor seating. Set up like a food court and shares the space with a brewery and Tamale Boy. Plenty of seating and parking! We ordered a whole pie. Half #4 and Cheese. Both were delicious! The crust is crisp and topping go all the way to the edge in true Detroit style. Also topping to crust ratio was great. The side of ranch was amazing! Tasted fresh, not Hidden Valley bottle style. Also had the radicchio caesar salad that was delicious! Will definitely come back and recommend!

Alexis B.

Yelp
This might be the best pizza I've ever had. Pizza usually is just pizza, you've tried one and you get the gist. But at the Ranch, I'm never disappointed! The sauce-to-cheese-to-topping ratio is literally perfect every time. Their breadsticks too?! To die for! Also, I'm obsessed with their ranch, like slathering my pizza in it obsessed. The food hall where this place is located is also great, it's perfect for family dinners, catching up with friends, or going out on a date. There's a ton of cider or beer to choose from at the bar to go with your pizza too. The bar having a huge selection is great because it usually takes 20+ minutes to get your pizza depending on how busy it is. I love having the option of grabbing a quick drink while waiting for takeout or eating in and trying new drinks! Like I said, this place is the real deal. When in doubt, I always go to the Ranch. Just don't forget to order an extra side of their amazing ranch!

Scott C.

Yelp
BROKEN TOOTH EATING PIZZA Please look through your pizza for hard objects. I bit down and heard that awful noise like a tooth broke. I spit out the food in mouth but must have swallow what ever broke my tooth. I found a couple pieces of my tooth. Sent email to manager with only one reply to possibly refund the pizza cost. Never heard from again. Edit:: got word of a refund and gift card coming.

Daniel G.

Yelp
Love ranch on pizza so I naturally love ranch pizza. Their ranch is great, and so is their pizza. Can you tell I like pizza and ranch together? It's a marriage made in culinary heaven.

Karie H.

Yelp
I love Detroit-style pizza so I love Ranch pizza! The focaccia-style crust is so yummy! The Ingredients are limited but better quality than most pizza places. I only gave it 4-stars because it is SO expensive. At least you get what you pay for.

Scott T.

Yelp
Pretty decent pizza! Ordered a quarter Pepperoni and the wife ordered a Radicchio Salad. Quarter pizza is just the right size for a lunch serving and decently priced. Crust was nice and crispy and had a decent amount of pepperoni's on it. Small criticism would be that I wish it had a little bit more cheese on it but really it's not noticeable. Wife said her salad was really good. This place is definitely one we will be going back to again. Update: ordered a second time with extra mozzerella....two thumbs up. Parking: Plenty of parking, actually has a parking lot so right off the bat it started off good.

Lisa H.

Yelp
Still great! Got a half and half yesterday with #4 and Hawaiian and the leftovers are already gone. The ranch is so good. I also found out about the whiskey bar in the downstairs and recommend checking that out too.

Brian H.

Yelp
Best pizza you will find in happy valley. Been going there since the opening. I would give a 4.5/5 if I could. They are super stingy with the ranch and the quality has went down since the opening by a significant amount. Still a solid spot to meet with friends to get a drink and some pizza

Grace C.

Yelp
This place is dangerous being so close to home, but it just speaks volumes on how good Ranch is!! They usually have a rotating (monthly?) special, which is always worth checking out! Ranch offers quarters or whole pies (4 quarters), and their ranch is probably some of the best ranch I've had. Their pies are more on the heavy side, it is detroit style, and they aren't shy with toppings cheese. Their crust is chewy, foccacia like, with ample toppings that honestly I don't think I put my slice down at all as I tried to maneuver each bite playing tetris with my toppings. Each bite delivers, each bite sings, each bite made my tastebuds dance. Paired with their ranch? The ultimate chef's kiss. There is no wrong choice at Ranch, the only choice is how many pies are you taking home?

Scott H.

Yelp
The Hawaiian is a truly magical bite. I know what people say about pineapple on pizza but honestly I doubt our forefathers has roasted jalapeños or Lardons in mind either I don't think I've ever had a more complete bite. Sweet pineapple. Warm roasted jalapeño heat. Nutty pecorino. Slightly salty Lardon. A slightly sweet savory sauce. And it all starts with a crunch. The kind of crunch that would make you look over your shoulder in public. With crispy cheese all the way to the edge. There's no folding. There is no knife and fork, just mounding fallen toppings on the next bite like speed jenga. A quarter pie was plenty for lunch. I would have eaten more but that wouldn't have been wise. I thought I wouldn't possibly want to ruin a great pizza with ranch. But their thick yummy ranch just adds more flavor. Fortunately it's thick enough you can kind of hold it sideways as you shove in the corner with the repiled toppings. Thank goodness I love so far away! Note: the place is inside the public house. It's not super obvious as you pull in the lot.

Megan H.

Yelp
Holy moly! I had heard great things but my god was this delicious. I'm honestly not a huge pizza fan anymore, but this was insanely good. I've never tried a Detroit style pizza before. The crispy cheese along the edges, the perfectly balanced sauce, the perfect meats We tried the pepperoni and the #4 The pepperoni was crispy and curled up to perfection. The #4 has the perfect amount of sauce, cheese and sausage. They clearly use some great high quality ingredients. Plus they make their own ranch in house, and there are 2 containers per pizza - something I realized after I ordered. We took home a pint of ranch too. It's truly delicious. Highly recommend giving them a try.

Devante V.

Yelp
Fire! This place doesn't miss! This Detroit style pizza is pretty good! The breadsticks are pretty good as well. This pizza is definitely the best I've had in the area. Next to a bar so can grab a quick beer while you wait. Definitely recommend.

Greg B.

Yelp
Always great pizza! A bit expensive it worth the little extra. The half and half pepperoni and Hawaiian is our go to.

Stephen K.

Yelp
I'd never had a "Detroit-style" pizza before, but I'm super happy that I've had one now! At Ranch, you can purchase a whole pizza (12' square, and quite thick), or a quarter of a pizza. The menu us small and basic, which is a good thing in my opinion ("specialize and excel" instead of "do lots of things moderately well"). The quality of the pizza and breadsticks was absolutely op-notch: tangy, flavorful tomato sauce and not overwhelming amounts of cheese, delicious crust with a crispy exterior, delightful chewy, crispy, charred cheese at the perimeter that somehow manages no not be at all bitter or burned-tasting. This was truly and outstanding pizza in every way! The establishment was alarmingly crowded when we arrrived...even with the pandemic protocols in place, it still felt a bit panic-inducing. After I ordered, I was told it would be 25 minutes for my pizza to be ready. I was amazed and relieved when they called me over less than ten minutes later with my order complete. I really LOVE "Ranch", and seriously cannot wait for my next visit...they seriously are that good!

Yelp
Had Ranch Pizza when they first opened in Portland several years ago and it was love at first sight. Same pizza and same prices and formula here at the Happy Valley Public House. The pizza was covered with yummy toppings. Ranch serves Sicilian style pizza on focaccia bread. The edges of the bread are crunchy while the interiors are pillowy soft. The mini pepperoni are among the best in Portland. Love how they arrive crisped up and curled and have a decent amount of spice. Tons of parm and fresh basil and a generous portion of ranch accompanies the pizza. The outdoor patio setup is pretty nice and is shared with Tamale Boy. Space was very large with heaters and is covered so your out of the elements with nice tables and chairs. Compared to other dining halls and food cart pods, I like this set up a lot. Pandemic protocols were good and everyone was safe and took it seriously. Super glad I don't have to trek across town to satisfy my Ranch Pizza urges.

Kalub H.

Yelp
I wanted so bad to love this places are crazy! I get inflation but $30+ for a medium pizza is highway robbery, not to mention a side of ranch is $1.00 for a ONE OUNCE container! It must be maid out of gold for a dollar an ounce. It's so frustrating because their pizza and ranch is good, but over $80 for two medium pizzas with extra ranch is insanity. Not to mention the service was awful. The kid was washing dishes when we walked up, looked at the movie a moment and then just walked away and went back to washing dishes. Then the lowest suggested tip is 15% for... a food hall? Where the kid is ignoring us. I absolutely believe people should be paid well, but now I'm and I tipped 20 percent on a togo order but now I'm thinking back like why would I do that? What service was provided? There was not a lot ambience for a food hall. Please let me know when your prices go down or your pizza becomes normal sized Because I'd love to go back when I can afford gold on my pizza.

Lauren C.

Yelp
This is one of my new favorite spots. I love pizza and have been craving a solid one. Ranch was phenomenal...reminded me a lot of Chicago or Detroit style pizza. Highly recommend. The ranch is addictive too (better than wing stop or a close 2nd). Will be back very soon to try one of their other pies.

Thuan H.

Yelp
The pizzas are really good and filling. One whole pizza will for sure fill more than a person up. Maybe that's just me though. I love their 4 meat pizza and will always go here as my favorite pizza spot.

Erin L.

Yelp
This may be the best pizza I have ever had in Portland and I have no idea why it took me so long to try it! Ranch PDX is now open in Happy Valley at the Valley Public House. I had no idea this place existed and it was a nice surprise. Ranch is located inside the building and you can just walk in if you want to order takeout or you can sit down to eat. We ordered the pepperoni, hawaiian and some breadsticks. Both pizzas were delicious; very fresh and crispy. The Hawaiian has a little kick to it with the jalapeños, but I loved the combo with the pineapples and bacon lardon. The pepperoni was my favorite of the two though. I like my pepperoni a little crispy and it was cooked perfectly. The breadsticks were very good and I really like that they use focaccia. They have a nice variety of pizza choices, plus salads and desserts. Will definitely be going back to Ranch to try other menu items!

Michael N.

Yelp
Love the Detroit style pizza, with very fresh and diverse topping choices! I am a once a week at the least customer!

Steve C.

Yelp
I usually prefer a crispy, thin crust pizza but was surprised by this light and crispy Detroit style.

Pamela R.

Yelp
Ranch just canceled the order I placed for later this morning, stating they"can't get to it right now". WTH? They can't be bothered to fill an order? They just lost a customer.

Robert B.

Yelp
Great deep dish pizza. The sauce was very flavorful and just the right amount of toppings. The crust was think but just enough crunch on the outside.

Nicole E.

Yelp
this better be the best pizza i've ever had for $90 tf service is fine ambiance loud because the bar but oh well the prices tho out of control could of went to sit down restaurant for this price. salads very good

Anthony A.

Yelp
Pretty good pizza. Was quick and great service. Good price for the amount of pizza you get.

Mandi R.

Yelp
This review is based on pizza that we picked up and ate at home. So I can't speak for the inside of the restaurant, eating area, etc. Even after the 20 min ride home, this pizza was AMAZING. Spongy crust, reminiscent of focaccia bread, plenty of Hugh quality pepperoni, and just the right ratio of sauce to crust. We will definitely be back!

Meagan N.

Yelp
My new go to spot for Sicilian style pizza! This pizzas are so loaded and the ranch is so tasty! I thought it was a little pricy but after seeing it and eating it, it was totally worth it. It's located in the new Valley Public House so it's the perfect spot to grab a few drinks to enjoy with the pizza!

Aaron R.

Yelp
My GF, son and I came and ordered pizza and then sat outside. We then saw the sign to scan and see that they have more options. It would have been nice to know before we ordered the pizza.

Kathy V.

Yelp
Ughhhhhh the pizza was ok, the salad was WTH??? Why no lettuce why nothing green why??! It could have been a great salad just put in something green. The ranch dressing is good. This is not a "sit down restaurant " it's cafeteria style connected to a bar. Not for us, but could be for someone else.

Bri'Anne P.

Yelp
Literally my favorite pizza....ever!! Seriously. There's nothing quite like it. The crust is a perfect combo of deep dish but still crunchy, and the pepperoni is so tasty! Try any of their pizzas, they're the best!

Tom M.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place. This is a new discovery for me but man I love it. Fresh ingredients awesome crust. This pizza is made for dipping and man do they have some really good ranch. I suggest you order some extra ranch as the two that are included aren't enough. My new go to pizza spot in town. I will be back again and again. I love me some ranch pizza!!!

Robin H.

Yelp
Had it delivered, arrived quickly and still hot. They put a different spin on the Hawaiian with roasted jalapeños and red onions, which was great. The pepperoni had great flavor, it was just what you wanted it to be. We also got breadsticks, definitely recommend.

Robert C.

Yelp
They have raised their prices too far! Sorry, but I will use another establishment. There are many choices now.

Frances L.

Yelp
Just as good as their Ranch pdx locations, but in a better setup since it's in the large Happy Valley Public House building with indoor and outdoor seating. Great place to sit and enjoy your meal and a few drinks

Rita R.

Yelp
Pizza is something I usually order only once a month but Ranch Pizza is so good that I had it twice in two weeks! Someone told me about this restaurant and said it's a nice location and great place to eat. I only ordered delivery so far. I am looking forward to going in person soon! The veggie pizza is thick and has a flavorful and slightly zesty topping. Reminds me of pizzas I enjoyed in Italy buon appetito!

Andrew M.

Yelp
I like this pizza a lot. I just moved into the neighborhood and was looking for something better than the usual chains. This place hits. So good and reasonably priced. You want to eat here.

Cody P.

Yelp
I finally tried this place out and I am glad I did. The pizza was really good and the $8 deal is filling. I am not usually a fan of ranch but the ranch here was a good combo with the pizza. I am excited we are getting one of these in Oregon City.

Heather H.

Yelp
Thin crust, New Haven-style pizza is usually my jam, but I'd heard good things about this Motor City-inspired square pie. Hoo boy, I was not disappointed. The crust is sexy af--springy, chewy, crispy around the edges (I will fight you for the corner pieces). So far I've sampled the pepperoni, the Hawaiian (bacon lardons, fresh pineapple, pickled jalapeño rings) and the #4 (sausage, ricotta, Calabrian chilies) and I'm ready for more. Having lived through the horrors of spongy dominos dipped in bland, weirdly viscous ranch dressing, I looked askance at the sides of ranch. But this ranch is a genre defining addition to the entire experience--so much so I ordered a friggen tub so I could dip all manner of things in this delicious dressing. tl;dr--even if you like thin crust pizza, you should give this a shot. It's nummy.

Liberty P.

Yelp
Their pizza makes my day every time. I am fully obsessed. I especially love the pepperoni and Hawaiian flavors.

Steven J.

Yelp
Easy to order through their website, quick service, excellent food, they boxed up everything in one box to make it easier to carry instead of seperate boxes which would have been necessary with a bigger order. Following social distancing and masking guidelines for employees and customers.

Tyler N.

Yelp
Great place that I never knew existed until a friend recommended it to me. I live about 5 minutes away from this place and I am in awe I haven't been there sooner! The plaza and place itself is brand new and looks amazing. The food was great and affordable and definitely worth the money. I really also enjoyed the vibe and ambient noise there. Overall will be coming back soon!

Liza E.

Yelp
Super cute place! Brand new community orientated environment. Really cool place go hangout with friends inside and outside on the patio. Massive Beer selections.

Christina C.

Yelp
I was craving for pizza and been meaning to try Ranch Pizza! I'm so glad they opened up a location in Happy Valley. I ordered a Half & Half Pizza with the #4 and Veggie pizza with added sausage topping. It was delicious! The #4 has sausage, ricotta, basil, chili peppers, mozzarella, and red sauce. The Veggie pizza included mushrooms, red onion, basic, olives, Chili peppers, mozzarella, red sauce and I added sausage. I loved the pan pizza because it was thick and filling and the toppings were so good! The crust of the pizza was also perfectly toasted with the cheese. It was very unique and a first for with with a square shaped pizza. And in its name, I naturally had to order myself a large ranch even though it came with 2 sides of ranch. The ranch is house made and so flavorful. With no shame, I dipped every bite in the ranch. Nonetheless, Ranch Pizza is amazing!
