Standout Spots for Brunch in Savannah

"Savannah’s favorite family-owned Cuban eatery is festive all night long, but has some of the best lunch deals in town. If eggs are a prerequisite to brunch for you, the ropa vieja with two eggs will check the box. However, the $9 quarter pollo asado lunch (available during the week) can’t be beaten for flavor and frugality. When you’re ready to fall off the wagon, their frozen cocktail range reaches into the double digits." - Kiki Dy

13 Best Restaurants in Savannah

"Welcome to Cuba on the Savannah River; Rancho Alegre Cuban Restaurant is a colorful, brightly lit restaurant that hits your senses with live Cuban-influenced jazz the moment you arrive. The menu features dishes like lechon asado, ropa vieja, and milanesa de polla, all accompanied by rice, beans, and plantains. Wash dinner down with a Mojito, Cubre Libre, or red or white sangria. And while it's not strictly Cuban, the paella should be on your table as well." - Barbara Skidmore

Rancho Alegre has a really lovely dining room. We came at noon on a Sunday and it was mostly empty, so very easy seating. We got a table by the window. Our waiter was attentive and service was very quick. The menu is fun and has a lot of different things. However, through a strange coincidence, three out of our four meals were all made with the bistec: two sandwiches, and an entree. The fourth meal was the calamari sandwich. So, unfortunately, the bistec was only so so. It was a little tough and not very flavorful. Two of us got the bistek sandwiches and I think we were worth hoping for a little bit more to the sandwich. It had lettuce and potato sticks and meat, but not really any sauce. My wife's bistec plate was also similar. She got some chimichurri sauce to go with it, and that helped. But as it came, it was a bit dry. Now the fourth meal, the calamari sandwich, was a big hit. My other son loved it. We also got the Cuban sampler as an appetizer, which had some favorites too. Our sandwiches came with rice and that was very tasty. I'd like to come back here another time and try a few different things because I feel like either the beef was just off today, or we ordered the one type of meat that was never going to be quite our style. This place gets lots of credit for being really pretty inside and having great service, so if I come back and have something else I'll update my review if it's better.

Google
To me is really important that when I give my review I’m honest. I love the ambience in this restaurant. I asked for chicken soup. The taste was good but it did not have enough chicken in it. It was all broth. Now, the dessert “guava pastellillo” was really delicious. And it was warm and melted. What I didn’t like was the waitress was somehow careless about our wants. Also I have this gentleman stopping in our table constantly and wanted to take out plates when we were not done eating. It was this unusual rush. I didn’t like that. Besides that the place is really nice.

Google
The complimentary bread was absolutely delicious, garlic bread, to be specific, and it was full of flavor. The sandwich and fried calamari were also tasty, but the real star was the paella. The seasoning was perfect, and the umami flavor was just right. It says on the menu that the paella takes about 40 minutes to prepare, but it actually came out a bit quicker than expected, and I was completely satisfied. If you're visiting Savannah, this place is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommend!

Google
We really enjoyed our visit to Rancho Alegre tonight for dinner. The restaurant had a menu with a nice selection of proteins prepared with a wide selection of accompaniments. Honestly, our meals reminded us of our trip to Havana 7 years ago. My wife had the plato mixto with chicken, pork & ropa vieja. I had the shrimp in garlic sauce. All of the food was amazing. Our server was cute and friendly guiding us to our selections. Overall, it was a great experience that we look forward to repeating. Very much worth your time and entertainment dollars.

Google
We were looking for something close to our hotel since we got to town a little late, and this was an option we could all agree on. The staff was so helpful & welcoming, and the food was great l, especially with the generous portions. I even ate my leftovers cold the next day & enjoyed it just as much!

Google
The atmosphere, the drinks, the service all top notch....the fried snapper was amazing as well as the churassco!! 100% satisfied!

Google
The restaurant was beautiful. The bathroom clean. After I was seated and given a menu, I waited for some time for a waitress or a waiter finally asked the lady cleaning the tables if she could procure a waitress for me. The young lady was very sweet, but not very attentive. When my ticket was brought, I paid with cash. I did not receive all of my change back. Her tip reflected that. Please management.Take time to speak with your servers and ask them to pay attention to your customers. Most of the staff were congregated at a table on their phones. I was there between 2:45 pm and 3:30.pm. there were four other tables being served.Besides mine, it was not busy, hence, I do not understand the lack of attention. Thank you

Google
The menu as a whole had amazing choices. I had the churrasco steak with appetizers with a group. Amazing! Food is 5 stars. Why 4 stars but not 5 for the overall? Cuban restaurant with amazing food had a jazz band. Flavor of the food did not match the band on stage. Photos was our dessert. Again food amazing. Personally jazz music didn’t mix with the Cuban food or Cuban coffee.

Yelp
PAELLA VALENCIANA is very good. It's jam packed with calamari, clams, mussels, shrimp, and chicken. The seafood has truly incorporated itself into the paella rice. A fantastically executed dish. Takes 40 minutes prep and cook time from the kitchen. It is so worth it. PLATO MIXTO is a sampler plate of ROPA VIEJA, LECHON, and ROAST CHICKEN. It's phenomenal! I chose a side of rice, black beans, and yuca. I wish I had more yuca fries because they were perfectly crisp and seasoned. I would recommend you order a salad to balance all the meat and carbs on the plate. The VACA FRITO had such good flavor! Definitely try it out. The ambience gives off this cool Cuban vibe. Service is not pretentious and is gracious towards large parties. Would love to come back and try more of the extensive menu offerings. Guava empanadas, I'm looking at you next.

Yelp
Be ready to eat some great food and drink a lot! First of all, I love the ambiance of this restaurant. It's a taste of Havana with a bit of Savannah. Moses was my server and bartender and he and his staff took care of my every need. I recommend starting with a mojito as this is a Cuban specialty that most bars will not make. It's rum goodness with other flavors that are a treat to taste. I sampled the Ham Croquettes wish a must for anyone who has never tried them. They were fried crispy ham goodness that only the Cubans know. For the main course I ordered the bistec empanizado which is Cuban Fried steak served up with sweet friend plantains, black beans and rice. This is Cuban comfort food at its best and feel free to add a pinch of salt. The ropa viaja is next on my list! (Shredded soft Beef in creole sauce) Please don't miss the chance to experience some amazing food and service here!

Yelp
Fantástico! What a wonderful experience, from the Cuban inspired decor, comfortable casual environment, to the fantastic food. Our server was friendly and attentive but not hovering. Our food was served quickly and at temperature. The best item, without question, Tostones! Large slices fried to a crisp... divine! Buen Provecho!

Yelp
I was in town all week for work. I went to the same place for dinner Monday and Tuesday night so I wanted to switch it up on my last night. My wife found Rancho Alegre online. It was a 5 min walk from my hotel so I gave it a shot. I'm not Cuban but I was born and raised in Miami so I didn't have high expectations. I ordered the Masas de Cerdo Fritas. It's basically pork chunks that are deep fried without breading. I've always called it Masas de Puerco and I make it a point to order it at least once every time I go home to visit my parents. It came with black beans, white rice and fried plantains which is pretty typical. Here they top the pork with what they called mojo. The mojo was lightly seasoned and sautéed onions. It didn't really taste like the mojo that I'm use to but in Miami Masas are always served with sautéed onions so I'm glad they had their variation. I didn't expect much, but this was excellent. It was the best Masas I've had outside of Miami in a many years. I recommend getting couple extra slices of lime and squeezing them over the pork after you've broken the chunks apart. I got the tres leches to go. I didn't think it was very good, but I ate it the next day so that's not really fair. It seemed more like a cake than a tres leches you would get in Miami. The service was great. The inside look a little more like a Mexican restaurant with a tropical twist than a Cuban restaurant, but the meal was great. I'm in Savannah a couple times per year. Rancho Alegre will definitely be added to the rotation.

Yelp
Everything had was amazing. The staff was so good. We were a fairly large party and they didn't make us feel like we were a problem. Our party contained a baby who can be quite loud. They were so kind and helpful. I can't wait to go back because literally every food was amazing every item appetizer dinner we pre-ordered the paella and it was amazing.
google avatar

Yelp
First time eating here. I had the steak sandwich which was good. I love Cuban food and will be returning. Staff was friendly and quick. Always love the Cuban bread they give you. Ambiance was nice and the restaurant is spacious.

Yelp
My sister had been here before and wanted to come back on our trip. This place is amazing. The empanadas are some of the best I've had, I would have ordered more and just had them for dinner. The seafood stuffed pineapple was delicious. Everything on my sister plate was great as well. The drinks were really good, I love that they have slushy drinks here too. Staff is very helpful. The restaurant is small but it wasn't loud at all when we were there which was nice. I will be returning someday.

Yelp
My wife and I were in Savannah for a long weekend vacation and we had heard great things about Rancho Alegre. It was only about 3 blocks from hotel. The place was good sized and kind of had a weird greeter that said "Can I help you?" Ummm....Yeah, we would like to sit down and have dinner. They had a pretty good beer list and I ordered a big IPA, which was great. I then ordered a Cuban, which is always my "Go to" with black beans and a house salad. Our server was great and the Cuban was full of pork and super succulent. the bread was perfectly pressed and the black beans were wonderful. It came out hot, which is always good. the house salad was good sized and had a fruity dressing. i would have liked options, but all-in-all, you should definitely go here while in Savannah!

Yelp
As a Cuban looking for some comfort food, I'd recommend this place and I'd definitely would come back. I got a ropa vieja with tostones and it didn't disappoint. My waiter was really nice and attentive and honestly don't have any complaints.

Yelp
More 7-11 than restaurant? This could be a great spot. Ambiance is awesome and would be so much fun with live music. Serious Cuban menu but lunch food was somewhat mediocre. I had a fried grouper sandwich served with very little tartare sauce and no other toppings. Bland- some additional toppings were needed to make this great. My wife had the Cuban salad with chicken that had generous portions of toppings. Food was fresh. Maybe a miss since we didn't get truly authentic Cuban dishes. The real let down here was the service. Staff were more interested in sitting at their own table and talking or scrolling than serving customers. I had to find the staff at their table to ask for more tartare sauce and drink refills. Drinks ran dry twice and unless we went and found someone, we did not get any service- even to pay our bill. Finally this restaurant has a walk up bar in the back that services carry out alcoholic slushes. There was nonstop traffic for the drink takeout. You cannot not sit at a table and drink these- house rules which makes sense since tables should be for people eating food. However this set up makes it feel like a 7-11 rather than a restaurant. It put a negative light on our dining experience.

Yelp
I stopped into Rancho Alegro for the first time after checking out a show at the Y bar across the street and it was enjoyable. There was a nice jazz band playing for a while as people came in and out. I only had a coffee and soup, both were good; but the soup was more on the broth side as it lacked much chicken or vegetables. I hear great things about the sangrias, so I look forward to coming back to try it.

Yelp
Storefront on Martin Luther King Blvd away from main part of town. Authentic Cuban look and feel inside. Came here because I love Cuban food. My husband and daughter had dined here before and loved it. Honestly I can't wait to go back when I can enjoy a few drinks with my meal. Food and service were very good. Couple things could use some improvement. Sopa Pollo, while delicious lacked substance. It was more broth than anything else. But so yummy I picked up the bowl to drink all the broth. They didn't clear our appetizer plates when our meals arrived. Just dropped them on the table and cleared nothing. We had to stack the empty plates to make room to eat our meals. I had the soup, side of sweet plantains which was yummy and the Papa Rellena, Potato ball stuffed with ground beef Nice size but kind of bland. Table hotsauce (serious heat!) took care of that. Happy we came. Definitely will be back. Sunday afternoon for lunch we walked right in. My daughter tells me it's crowded and fun on weekends with live music. Next time be back for that experience. Next time coming for margaritas & more. Was flying home in few hours so just had soda.

Yelp
Great atmosphere with a live band. The wait staff were amazing and seemed like they were part of a family. Food was really good. I would go back.

Yelp
I truly enjoying dining at Rancho Alegre Cuban Restaurant. When you walk in, you're greeted with warm hospitality and a smile. On this visit we walked in for lunch at the perfect time, we were seated immediately. I ordered a passion fruit mojito, it was so refreshing, fruity, loaded with fresh mint. For lunch I had the ropa viejo plate, the meat was so juicy, and flavorful. The rice was fluffy, the black beans were seasoned deliciously, and the plantain was sweet, ripe and tender. Ambiance was pleasant, as usual, and the service was perfect. I love Cuban cuisine, Rancho Alegre does it for me.
google avatar

Bruce T.

Yelp
We had an excellent dining experience at a local favorite restaurant. The Cuban food dishes were hand crafted, tasty and authentic. I truly love coming to Savanah, GA because they can cook here. Put this spot on your travel itinerary. And the drinks were NICE! The live music was definitely a nice touch.

Yelp
Delicious Ropa Vieja. Juicy and tender. Had with the house salad a side and it was a baby green mix. Kid loved the Cuban sandwich and fries. Vaca Frita for my husband did not disappoint. Friendly staff and lots of natural light from the windows over looking the street.
google avatar

Lisa U.

Yelp
Fried snapper was great.. Bring your appetite or a friend to share because it's massive! Tostones were good. Accompanied by an onion sauce that goes quite well and provides the needed savoriness.
google avatar

Ada J.

Yelp
I didn't expect Savannah to have delicious Cuban food but Rancho Alegre proved me wrong. First off, the service here was wonderful. They graciously accommodated our large group of 10 while having a pretty packed restaurant. The food here was amazing and just what we needed after a day full of activities. I ordered the mango juice and it was the perfect level of ripeness. It definitely tasted like a natural juice, not artificial. As for my entree, I ordered the vaca frita which I am still dreaming about. The meat is fried so it's crispy but it somehow still remains tender. It was also well seasoned. It comes with rice and your choice of tostones or maduros on the side. The restaurant is located a bit further out from downtown but definitely worth a visit. Parking can be tricky. They have a small parking lot in the back but if it's full your best best is street parking or a parking garage.
google avatar

Ingrid S.

Yelp
Gracias Pilar, Excelente servicio... disfrutamos mucho del ambiente y el l sabor de la comida... bien cubano. Gracias

Yelp
Location off of MLK in downtown Savannah and directly across from the parkers before getting on 16 it's located on a corner. There is parking hidden in the back in a small lot. We arrived about 5:30 on a Thursday and it wasn't busy at all. Only a handful of tables were full and the noise level was low. There is a area for live music and a bar to the back. We were seated in front by the windows which is great for people watching. We didn't wait long before we were greeted and asked if we were ready to order. My friend ordered the pechuga de pollo which was a huge flatten piece of chicken with rice, beans and sweet plantains. She stated that the sides were bland and could use more seasoning. I ordered the lechon asado which was shredded pork which said it was cooked with onions but instead it was just raw onions sprinkled on top and it was served with a small cup of bland rice and beans and sweet plantains. I would have liked to see more rice and beans to eat with the large portions of protein that was given. The plantains were good and the highlight of the dishes. Service was decent. We didn't have to wait long for food. In and out pretty fast. Nothing thrilling.

Yelp
I just hate that this place reminds me of someone... thankfully the food is great and they also have strong drinks. Popped in on a lazy Saturday and just wanted some good food to fill my belly so I could walk around in the sun all day and look productive. We saw the people moving in and out this place and just had to check in out. Walking in I loved the décor. Reminds me of another great Cuban spot in Miami that's known for salsa dancing. Unfortunately the layer of noticeable dust on the instruments make me think it's rarely if ever used. No clue if they offer live music but there was a great playlist going throughout our visit. Greeted, seated, then both drinks and appetizers appear quickly. All entrees are delicious. Only except would be the items that include shrimp which seems to be overcooked or not feel the freshest. All entrees are huge. For this reason, I decided to have an appetizer for lunch on the last visit. Tostones with picadillo, plantains with well seasoned ground beef. Liked it so much I refused to share and had some to take home. Cuban Cortadito after lunch - is a must. Sitting around vibing to the music, letting food settle, and watching the line of people come in and out for frozen drinks.

Yelp
WOW! Some of the best Cuban food I've ever experienced! If you are in Savannah, don't walk, run to this amazing restaurant. As soon as you walk in, you are comforted by delicious smells, entertaining music and excellent service. You can sit down for a meal or you can walk up for a to-go drink. Both options are popular and you can't go wrong with either. I came here with my girlfriends and they were equally impressed. We ordered drink and numerous meals and everything was spectacular. There's a small parking lot out back or if you are lucky you'll find something on the street. There's usually a line for this restaurant but you can also put a reservation in ahead of time. Enjoy!

Yelp
We went for lunch today 12/26/24 and although the food was great our server Ricardo was not. We waited 10 minutes before he came to our table. We requested bread but I had to ask twice and he brought after the food was served. He never came by the table. After we ate he never asked if we needed something else. Perhaps he needs to be trained further in him to be a proper Server.
google avatar

Yelp
The Cuban tamales are really good. And so was the live music. Service was very attentive and fast.
google avatar

Kenneth S.

Yelp
Closing my vacation days I was in the mood of a "bistec empanisado" Cuban style. They delivered the solution to my craving. I also tried the roasted chicken and the flavor was excellent. They marinated it in the Cuban mojo and the magic was done. They a group of bilingual people very service oriented and willing to recommend special plates. Certain days of the week they have live music. If you're hanging out in Savannah, try this restaurant. It's easy to get there. You'll not regret it.
google avatar

Kathleen S.

Yelp
I always stop at this restaurant every time I come into town. I got the red snapper and it did not disappoint. The mojitos were on point as well!!
google avatar

Suzanne S.

Yelp
The food was good. I ordered the grilled salmon with black beans and rice with plantains. Very good black beans and rice. The server was attentive and quick. The place was adorable with Cuban posters and decorative plates on the walls. Bar was full of people and the noise level was moderate. Finish the meal with the coconut flan and a Cuban coffee with Baileys added.
google avatar

Julia A.

Yelp
After reading the reviews for this place I expected a lot better. We first walked in and almost walked right back out because of the smell. I've never been to a restaurant that smells musty like that. Usually you just smell the food. We stayed because we thought since the reviews had been so good it might be worth it. I feel like it was just average. The yuca fries were definitely cooked in fryer oil that hadn't been changed out in a while. It was very cheap so I would say that was the highlight.

Jennifer B.

Yelp
LOVE this place. Live music on the weekends is great. Food is good. Sangria and frozen drinks are good as well. Service has always been spectacular.
google avatar

Emilie W.

Yelp
Pretty good restaurant we were in a hurry since we had a Yelp Eite event to go too but we had to wait a while before we got service. I ended up telling our waitress we were short on time but our house margaritas were very good and so was the Cuban sub. I would come back if I was in the area but wouldn't make a special trip.
google avatar

Shanti S.

Yelp
Amazing guitarist and singers on Friday nights. Great authentic food too. Great experience
google avatar

Briana Y.

Yelp
I'm so glad I ate here during my trip to Savannah. There are a variety of Latin drinks- not just rum drinks, that are tasty. I ordered the Cuban Sampler appetizer and truly felt like I was in hog heaven between the croquetas, empanada and papa rellena. The mojo for the plantain chips was fresh and the appetizer was super satisfying. I had ropa vieja for my meal with rice, beans and maduros and I was extremely full and happy at the end of the meal. The employees are very sweet and friendly.
google avatar

Batul C.

Yelp
Great customer service! Ordered the vegetarian sampler and found it mostly greasy on the outside and dry on the outside. Drinks were great. Ambiance and music were lovely. Maybe order something else?

Ed K.

Yelp
Second time in Savannah and our second visit here! Great sandwiches!! Our servers have been great! Will be visiting again!!
google avatar

Thao L.

Yelp
We pulled an audible and decided to go here and it didn't disappoint! This was the first time having Cuban food and needless to say we're going to start looking for Cuban restaurants when we get home. The food was delicious and the service was pretty quick. They had complimentary garlic bread and we also got a sampler for an appetizer and it was BANGIN! My boyfriend got the Ropa Vieja and he had only good things to say about it. The side veggies were good as well. For sure a great spot and will be coming back whenever we take a trip to Savannah!
google avatar

Eleanor A.

Yelp
I love rancho alegre! We come almost every Friday for the live jazz and fun. The food is great too, but the frozen drinks are for the win.

Adam B.

Yelp
I didn't eat at the restaurant, but the service that I did receive for my to go order was decent. I tried their ropa vieja, which wasn't that great. The flavor is there, but the meat is tough, like it wasn't slow cooked long enough. The rice was pretty good, just a tad bit salty, but paired well with the beans.
google avatar

Howard P.

Yelp
A great find! Some of the best Cuban food, ever! Great family restaurant with an astonishing and outstanding menu. This is a must go if you are in the area.
google avatar

Athena B.

Yelp
This place I THOUGHT would be good, but it was the most underwhelming food I had in Savannah during my trip. I'm a vegetarian and I thought the vegetarian sampler would be amazing, but the only decent items were the yucca (but nothing to dip it in and it's only 2 pieces) and the black bean empanada. Everything else was not tasty or filling or anything I'd ever order individually. It came with a ton of plantain chips which I've never cared for plantains chips. I saw it on the menu, but I didn't think it'd end up being the "star" of the dish. Half the dish was plantain chips, and there's not even that much sustenance in it for it to be the main portion! I wish there was more yucca instead, or more than one empanada. The other items it came with were 2 tostones, 2 sweet plantains and a little bowl of mojo sauce. I guess I don't know what mojo sauce is, but I thought it'd be a creamy substance I could dip my different food items in, but it was like a soup! While it would be tasty as a soup, it did nothing to add to my meal. I almost ordered the yucca as an appetizer (but I thought more would come with my meal so I decided against it). I'm also glad I didn't order it though, because it said it came with mojo sauce and after finding out it's basically soup, I wouldn't want that with my yucca! My friend got a Cubano sandwich with fries, which she enjoyed. The highlight of my dinner was eating her fries and the glass of sangria I ordered. Other food around me looked good and I'm sure if I ate meat or seafood I could find something I like, but as a vegetarian DO NOT go here.

Yelp
If you are visiting Savannah, you MUST eat here! If I lived here I would be a regular. It was the best meal we've had on our trip so far. We came for lunch. Made a reservation but it wasn't needed (maybe for dinner on the weekends when they have live music you need one). Our server was great. We were trying to decide what to share so we could try a few things and he gave us a great suggestion. We had the Cuban salad (greens, tomatoes, hearts of palm, avocado, red onions, queso fresca) and a delish cilantro vinaigrette). Plenty for 2 people to share. We also had the Plato Mixto which is a sampling of the pork, steak and roasted chicken. The pork was out of this world. Incredibly flavorful and juicy/tender but also had the crispy bits that take it over the top. It came with rice, beans and plantains. It looked like they had good frozen drinks (everyone was drinking them) and sangria too. We will be back!!

Yelp
this place has it all. quality food and drinks, great flavors... and a live band who take enough breaks that you have plenty of time to chat with your mates as well as boogie in your chair. good fun! and it is well run - pretty organized for Brazil great staff. i wish we had time to back for one more dinner!
google avatar

Emily E.

Yelp
Great service for a quick work lunch. I always get a cuban sandwich with fries and fried plantains. I love a good cuban, and Rancho Alegre is known for theirs. Get a side of the mojo marinade sauce to dip your cuban in, i promise you will not be disappointed
google avatar

Gregg N.

Yelp
They have Vaca Frita!!! I have been wanting some for a long time, so of course I had to order it! It came with black beans, plantains, and rice. I am not sure if the transport had anything to do with it, but by the time we ate (at least an hour after pickup: Savannah to Hilton Head Island) it was chewy. COVID is really affecting the dining experience. We are not ready for dining in yet.
google avatar

Diego C.

Yelp
We had such a good time here. This was the first restaurant we'd been in since the shutdown started. The experience made us feel better for sure. All the staff were wearing masks and some had gloves. They were also enforcing masks at the door and not one patron complained out of the dozens that came in. Some tables were also marked with an X to enforce social distancing. We felt very safe In here, which is great because we stayed for a LONG time I fell in love with Cuban food some years ago, so I may be biased but the food was really good! We had the staples for the most part. Chicken chuletas, rice, platanos maduros (sweet plantains) and tostones. We also tried a couple of the desserts at the suggestion of the awesome waiter. Everything was so good and we left with a to go box! So we noticed a nonstop line of to go drinks. I am not exaggerating. People steadily came in and out for drinks the entire time for hours we were there. We asked a few of those customers what they were drinking and quickly found out that the margaritas are ridiculously good. We ordered a couple and OMG. It's real. If I say the food is a home run. If have to say the drinks are out of sight! We were in Savannah on a Saturday and fortunately they have live music every Friday. The band covered a variety of Jazz in English, Portuguese and Spanish. They were so smooth and created a nice vibe. We felt bad about staying so long because people were waiting to be seated, but we did our research and got there early on purpose. I already told the wife that we are going back whenever we come to Savannah!

Yelp
Very good food! The service was slow and not very attentive but the food, music and atmosphere was nice! My wife said the pork meal wasn't all that. My chicken and peppers were great though. Lots of people come and go getting drinks at the bar to walk down the road with which of you sit near the isle isn't great.

Yelp
Yes, it's right off the highway and is a hole in the wall. It is also the best Cuban food I've had since living in Miami. We went 6 months ago for a weekend getaway. My children had eaten there and told us we HAD to go. They were not wrong. We were able to walk there from our B & B for lunch. The menu is extensive. What you give up in atmosphere you make up in taste, personal service and quantity. I highly recommend the heart of palm and avocado salad along with the Cuban bowl. My husband had a delicious chicken platter. We had ample amounts for 2 other meals. You cannot go wrong here is you want authentic Cuban food north of Florida.

Yelp
We got a variety of different things.. the vaca frita, the mixed Plato, the churrasco, the palomilla empanizado, and the empanizado con jamón y queso. Everything was just okay, decent, but not amazing as some of the reviews suggest. Coming from Florida, it's hard to have really authentic food elsewhere. The vaca frita was pretty good, just wish it was shredded a little more and cooked well all of it. The edges were crispy which is how we like it and asked for it but the middle wasn't. Rice for all the dishes didn't seem fresh. Overall we continued to see people come in for the drinks and leave. Assuming that is a hit because they have a line just for that. Again the food wasn't terrible but just mediocre. I probably wouldn't visit again.

Yelp
My wife and I visited Rancho in Savannah, Georgia on January 13, 2024. We were there mid day and had a wonderful experience. We chose to sit at the small bar and order drinks and an appetizer. The first thing we noticed was that this setting is truly authentic Cuban and they have paid a lot of tension to detail it was very comfortable lots of pictures of Old Havana. We had the best experience with our waiter named Moises. I had the classic Peruvian drink that Chile also claims,"The Pisco Sour." My wife ordered the, " Bandera." Both drinks were made right in front of us with very very fresh ingredients nothing premixed here. Moises took the time to make little hearts and a moon in the foam part of the pisco sour. Moises, tre bartender really made the day I can't say enough great things about Moises . My wife and I shared the Cuban sampler and got one of their Frozen drinks that was strawberry lime with tequila. Watch out these drinks are very strong but refreshing and balanced. The appetizer was amazing we most enjoyed the little croquets that had ham inside of them. They have music here on Saturday nights and we will definitely be back. We observed many meals going out in the portions are just very large. It is a good value for the money and I highly recommend this place on your next visit to Savannah Georgia

Yelp
This restaurant is so delicious we ate here two days in a row! The pollo asado will not disappoint! We also had filete de cherna that was amazing. And service and ambience were fantastic as well. Love the live music too!
