A lot of food for a great price best bang for your buck order a picada and had to bring some home drinks ate good not water down and live music on a Friday night

I am surprised by the quality of the food. It was so delicious, I enjoyed the flavors. The staff treated us well. Restaurant had karaoke/music at night. Plenty of parking , it's next to a plaza. I will be coming back as I am very pleased with the food!

I gave this place a second chance after my first experience with a steak that lacked flavor. Unfortunately, my second visit was equally disappointing. I ordered the breaded pork cutlets for $23, and I received just one cutlet and a side of plantains. While the portion size was already underwhelming, the cutlet was dry and lacked flavor. It’s frustrating because the restaurant is conveniently located right up the street from me, but this will be my last time ordering here. I very seldom leave negative reviews, but after two disappointing meals, I won’t be coming back.

This past week I went to Rancho Mateo a Colombian restaurant in Las Americas Shopping Center. At first glance, this place looked nice. Had colorful and fun decor all over and it was so beautiful to look at. The part where I and my family were sitting was particularly very noisy since they offered live music and it was so loud compared to other restaurants. I enjoy eating in peace preferably with not-so-loud music. So Eventually sat outside and the food came and it didn't take so much time. But honestly, the price of the food wasn’t the best to be worth 25 dollars. I probably won’t return since my waiter and my food weren’t the best and they should probably lower their prices.

The cocktails are very good, I think that's the only good thing they have. I didn't like the food and if you want to drink chicken broth, I don't recommend it. The service of the waiters is very good, there's no doubt about it, but I wouldn't go back to that place.

Loved the place and the food. I had the avocado stuffed shrimp which brought a lot and it was only an appetizer. For dessert I had the coconut ice cream. Everything was delicious.

So I was between a 2 and a 3 but reading some reviews I decided for the 2. First the beers were warm, the morcilla was cold we did tell the waitress and she didnt really care. Then my friends mojarra was raw....I asked for a medium entraña and was more like rare. I dont mind blood in my meat so didn't complaint. Now they didn't get the order right either my spouse asked for the entraña with mushroom sauce and they brought without the mushroom sauce. And she had to wait.....the place is nice the live music is great I also like the uniforms. All in all come have drinks they have ice.

Firstly, my girl had the chunchullo (fried small intestine), with arepa . I had the pandebono, arepa de choclo, and buñuelo for breakfast-- all scrumptious I just recently visited Rancho Mateo in Miami while in the Everglades and the one in Elizabeth is beautiful-- murals on the front, parking and inside of the building. . the interior is an open space and perfect for dancing, and music when it's not a restaurant. A full bar and plenty of good service cause they have many waiters even in the early morning.

Rancho Mateo was fun and super packed!! Place is definitely a hotspot to have a big family dinner in Kendall. Great location for drinks and food. Steak are delicious. Great location to celebrate a birthday. Wait times were not bad for the amount of people there. There's space to sit everywhere. Plenty of tables. Only thing that's a little annoying is that it really hard to speak because the place is loud! Great music. However it was a good overall experience

If you're here to dance, Rancho Mateo is the spot. The atmosphere is lively, and the music will get you on your feet. However, be prepared for a long wait when it comes to service. Unfortunately, the food doesn't match the vibe--it's not good at all.

Tonight I had the worst experience on Colombian food in my 35 years living in Miami. Rancho Mateo restaurant needs to reconsider how important is for patrons to have fresh and tasty food. Service is not the best, but food is definitely one i would not recommend to anyone.

I really wish that I could give this place a better score, because everyone was very nice and friendly. We decided to check it out because it has endured in a location that has seen many different restaurants in the past. Upon arrival we noticed that the entrance walkway could use some maintenance ... there are weeds, and the walkway lights are all crooked, and it just looks messy. It wasn't a good first impression. They open the door for us, and they were very welcoming. We were a party of two, so they sat us at a hightop in the bar area. Our server was very friendly, and very helpful in choosing menu items. We ordered two cocktails, a cosmopolitan (which looked nothing like a Cosmo), and a house drink called Don Mateo. Unfortunately, both were horrendous. honestly, my favorite item was the appetizer, three huge Tostones with guacamole, even though the guacamole tasted store-bought, and not freshly made. My wife had a steak which she barely ate. I ordered a steak that came covered in green and red peppers, mushrooms, and onions. The vegetables were good, but my first two bites of the steak were pure fat. They ended up in my napkin. My sides consisted of fried plantains (maduros) which were without a doubt, frozen from a box. The "fried yucca" looked like frozen mozzarella sticks that I buy for my kids. The interior decor is all over the place. There is no clear-cut theme or attempt at consistency. The bar has electrical outlets across the entire front, where people's legs are, I guess so that you can charge your phone while you have a drink .... some of them don't even have coverings. It just seemed unsafe. The bussing area was not even hidden out of view, so diners can see all the dirty dishes and a bunch of extra storage and cluttered items in the corner. They must be doing something right, because the place was packed, and loud, and we honestly enjoyed people watching. There were birthday celebrations, and everyone else seem to be having a great time. I really hate that we did not enjoy our experience.

Love love this place. Food is delicious. They serve big portions so you get your moneys with and more. Service is good. If you want good Colombian food this is the place.

I ordered top shelf whiskey and watched them spray the whiskey out of a gun. I will never go back!!

Rancho Mateo is a great Colombian spot! They have so many different platters to choose from. Great appetizers, entrees, and sides. They have quite a great cocktail selection as well. For the appetizer, we ordered the Tostones con Camarones. It was delicious and has a spicy touch to it. It comes with 4 pieces, it's shareable. For the main dish, we ordered the Picada for 2! It comes with so many things to eat. Comes with steak, ribs, carne de cerdo, fried yuca, tostones, chicharrón, maduros, and arepitas. It comes with a small salad on the side. I highly recommend to try the Picada especially if you have more than 2 people. The staff and service was excellent. I would definitely come back again because of how friendly they were and how good their food is!

Feliz Cumpleanos! We celebrated with our Miami family like there's no tomorrow at Rancho Mateo! What a fantastic place to celebrate a birthday! They had a live band singing Cumpleanos Feliz multiple times for all the birthday people. Everyone in the place sang in their loudest voices, including yours truly! It was so much fun, so loud, so crazy and I loved it!! Adriana, our birthday girl, was having a blast! Columbian food is their specialty. We ordered several Carne a la Llaneras and they arrived in a huge stack on a big platter for everyone at our table! They were delicious and seasoned perfectly. They came with roasted potatoes, onions and everyone dug in. Soon we needed a second platter! Our lovely birthday girl was given a very special birthday drink that was in the largest cocktail glass I've ever seen! She loved it. Then a pitcher of beer arrived and we all tried it. The most delicious I have ever tasted! It's called Refajo....aguila beer and Colombiana champagne soda. Wow! I was glad that I was not driving that night. The singers came along and we clapped and sang Feliz Cumpleanos!! We had a great time! Our server was Javier and he was outstanding! We were never ignored. He made sure we had water, drinks, and were happy. We sure were happy!! We had the best time!! I felt rejuvenated when it was time to leave. The place was packed. I heard that if you don't arrive before 7:00pm on a Saturday, there will be no tables left. When we left, there was a long line of people waiting for a table. They have outdoor dining as well as indoor. There is a large parking lot there. Put this wonderful restaurant on your list asap. You won't regret it.

The service is great. Our server was very attentive. The bandeja paisa did not disappoint and the mini empanadas stole the show! The food also came out very quickly which was great because I was starving! I really enjoyed this restaurant and I will definitely return!

First time visiting today (Saturday). I've heard good things about this place, good ambiance mostly so I went to try it out. I sat indoors on the right side of the building where there was no Air conditioning at all. I was drenched in sweat. This could have been bad luck it seems because there are a lot of positive reviews. The food had no taste. On a positive note the staff were very polite and provided good service.

Very nice environment: we ordered the tostones with shrimp 10/10 . Very delicious, I loved the caldo de costilla. It was so flavorful we also had a margarita what came with two little bottles of liquor. The drink was great and the price was very convenient. The waiter was very kind and food came fast.

The place was nice and the people were nice. But the food was terrible! We ordered the Colombian parrilla; meat was overcooked and chewy. We also ordered drinks which were just average. The place was lively, and the entertainment was good but the main reason we went there was for the food. Will not be back and will not recommend. No recomiendo!

I have visited this restaurant a couple times now. On visit the service has been exceptional. I have always sat in the bar. I have had steak every time I went there. It was always good. The beef quality was ok and the portions very generous. This restaurant is located close to the AMC theater. That is why I visited ...to have a meal before moving. This restaurant seems very authentic for a Colombian place. The menus are in Spanish in English. There's often live music here and apparently there's a horse show too which looks very cool. Every time I've been there it has been fairly busy. The place seems popular. I've never had a problem or had to wait sitting at the bar. I have noticed a wait time for some folks looking for tables. Spanish is the first language of pretty much all of the wait staff however, I was able to order in English on every visit. I would be happy to come back here anytime. It is reliable. It is authentic.

Came here for a late lunch on a Sunday and the food service, and ambiance was great! The food was great we each had different food options. The service was great both our server and hostess were welcoming and friendly. The ambience was great filled with theme appropriate music and appropriately decorated restaurant. It is also a fairly large restaurant with both inside and outside seating options. Will definitely come back again!

Food was delicious! Great service to spend for a birthday. Live music and can be loud keep this in mind for kids. Full bar options. The servers disappear for a while because the dinning room is large. Over all good experience and food.

I brought my Colombian mom here for her birthday and have no regrets. The food was yummy and authentic. The service was your typical Colombian over-the-top professional service. And the ambiance was the greatest part! Live music and people dancing while enjoying a great meal & drinks, my kind of vibe!

Moved to the neighborhood and very glad to find a Colombian restaurant so close to my new place. Now to the food: the menu has a lot of the usual dishes, bandeja paisa, sancocho, sobrebarriga, calentado etc. I had lengua en salsa, and my brother in law had pechuga a la parrilla. Both our meals were delicious, and came out rather quick. Our server Cristian was very attentive and friendly, and welcomed us to the neighborhood. The place itself is nice, colorful murals on the walls inside, and clean too. Definitely going to be coming here more often in the future.

Food was espectacular, fresh and tasty. Our waitress Kimberly was fantastic! Very attentive.

This place really surprise me, we were looking for a good carne en vara o a la llanera Venezuelan or Colombian restaurant since I'm Venezuelan and my husband is Colombian, we being trying different places that were not bad but somehow were missing something but this place has it all. The place is big and decoration was very Colombian, everything was clean and tables has enough space between each other, everybody was in uniforms making it feel like a well prepared workers. Great attention staring from the hosted that she was very nice, then our server Sebastian (the receipt said that was his name) was very patience and was recommending things without putting pressure, he came to the table a couple time to check on our food and make sure we didn't need anything while we were eating but still gave us our space and time to eat and relax in our own time, he offered dessert and broad our check in very nice timing. We started with a large Refajo, it was a bit big for two but at the end we drank it all (I don't have a picture for this) but was perfect for the food we got. We didn't got an appetizer because we want it to eat a lot of meat, so we started with the "Carne llanera" (medium) that comes with cole slaw (Colombian style) steam potatoes and fried sweet plantain, the meat was tender and had that particular charcoal Smokey flavor very características of this type of preparation, the salad was a little citric very Colombian style and match perfect with the meat and of course potatoes and plantains were perfect, the portion was big, it was a lot of meat. We also got an "Entraña Marinera" (medium) that was a skirt steak perfectly grilled súper extra tender that was melting as soon as got in my mouth topped with huge shrimps on a White House sauce, the combination of flavor for this meat was amazing didn't need anything else the border of the meat was little crispy but the middle was medium, you can pick two sides and we picked rice and French fries, the rice was perfectly loose and fries were crispy and flavorful too. And we finished with a "Tres leches Natas" that we shared, this is a tres leches cake mixed with postre de natas and it was fantastic, really creamy and actually it wasn't that sweet, it was perfect. Oh prices were very good for the quality of food they served. Pictures will not make justice for the great flavors and textures we ate.

This place is vibrant and full of life! I felt right at home at Rancho Mateo. My drinks were good, and our server was so kind! I would have loved to take a friend who passed on here as she was Colombian like myself. She would've loved it. The music played varies between live band and pre-recorded but the party goes on well after closing time! They close at 1 AM which is I feel then perfect time to head out because we left the house around 10:30 PM and we still were able to get a table, have a few drinks, eat, and make it home at a decent time. This would be a great date night spot as there's lot of little spots to sit with your date! The artwork and lights add to the festive vibe all around. It's exactly my kind of place. The crowd is mixed--we saw young men and women walking to the dance floor but we also saw older people passing by our table who wanted to get a dance in. You're able to bring your family--there was people with children there but it's also just a nice place to come out for a drink with friends at the bar. I would most recommend as somewhere to come with people. Being that it's a steakhouse, I didn't want to leave without having a little bit of steak. Let me tell you, this hit the spot! I had been wanting to try the place out and never had the opportunity to go until recently. I went with a friend and we originally planned on going somewhere else but last minute decided here. I'm glad we did because as soon as we sat down, I felt like I was at a family party with just the right music and good food. When there is a birthday, they celebrate for you with a song on the overhead speakers and dessert coming out. We must've heard the Feliz Cumpleaños 10 times that night because it was packed. Being that it was the weekend, I couldn't believe we got seated so quickly but immediately a spot opened right by the bar. The food we got was great, for the most part, I just don't like pork. But the rest of it was chunks of steak that was really, really good! I had sufficient food in my system so I didn't really feel the effect of my drink too much but I got a nice buzz.

A beautiful restaurant, great service, great atmosphere. Rancho Mateo as you walk in introduces you to the Colombian culture. With vibrant colors, great music selection, and a great atmosphere. Freshly made in house juices and smoothies and a wide selection of adult drinks =) are available. They have live music during the weekends & have daily drink specials. The food is authentic and large portions are served. Great for sharing and getting a taste of every Colombian dish. The staff along the owners are very attentive. The restaurant is very clean and did I mention... beautiful!

Meat was tough and low quality. Very dissatisfied. Service was excellent and very attentive, but they couldn't fix the poor quality of their signature "Carne Llanera"

I came with a group of 11, on a Saturday around 6 pm. The noise level is loud so expect that if you come. I ordered a surf and turf plate (no picture) which had skirt steak and grilled shrimp. My plate came with 2 sides and I chose beans and sweet plantains (Maduros). My plate cost $31.50 but it was very delicious. I asked for medium well but it came well done - should have asked for medium. Anyhow service was friendly and prompt, however 2 people had to wait for their order. I finished my meal and it showed up about then. Noise level is very loud because of the music. A horse paraded in front of the window so that was interesting to watch. I gave it 5 stars , because I loved my meal.

Teníamos intenciones de pedir unos tragos mientras esperábamos al resto de la familia , pero ellos no lo permitieron. Decidimos irnos a otro lugar. No recomendamos este lugar . Gracias a Dios la otra elección el restaurante Sancho fue mil veces mejor elección.

Really bad service, server was in a bad mood just because we were a party of 11 people and we ask them to divide the check in four since the beginning even before we order.. we ask for recommendations about the drinks and she was not able to give us the price for the cocktails (prices are not shown in the drinks menu) Servers are not capable of explain what sides were included in the plates specially the steaks and carne llanera. at the end they charge for each side additional. We realize they charge 15% more in one of the checks above the 18% that was already included and when one of our friends went to manager to complain; both servers said that our table was shit .. this server forgot we decided to leave the initial 18% even with the mess they did. I don't think a table that leave you almost $80 in tips is a shit .. but people like this should not work in customer service. Bad image for the place which have a great vibe, for sure not recommending this place to nobody and never coming back

Went there today didn't care for it. The food was underwhelming. My bf and I shared the small plate #1 (I think that's the name). There was enough food for two but the quality of the meat was average. There really wasn't any flavor on the pieces of steak, the ribs were full of fat and very greasy. The vegetables were the best part of the meal. My waiter Kimberly was nice and attentive so really the service is what gave this place 3 stars.

Horrible service, after finishing eating they forced us to leave because they needed the table, extremely rude and unprofessional staff. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIs HORRIBLE PLACE!!!

I was pretty disappointed on our visit here. We were a party of 6 that came in on a Sunday afternoon. It seemed the AC was broken because it was really hot inside. We were all sweating. The food took a while to get to our table. I ordered a churrasco steak because hey they are a steakhouse but the meat was over cooked and had no flavor. No seasoning and no sauces to help it. The sides, rice and beans, also had no flavor. I would say the worst meal I have had a Colombian place. Not worth what the are charging $30 for a steak. None of the other people on our party were fans of the food either. My wife said the bandeja was ok but not great. The only thing I will say was good were the drinks. They are almost $30 but they are super strong. But we would not come back here.

The pollo ajillo was really good homemade garlic sauce.the portions were enough for 2 meals

The food is very bland and flavorless in my opinion, the only flavor/seasoning detectable in any of the meat dishes is the taste of an overwhelming amount of red bell pepper and culantro and nothing else. No salt, no garlic. Also, the steaks and even lengua are served in a pool of watery red sauce. No sear on the meat or anything. Also, the fried calamari is always rubbery, overcooked, and overfried. The shrimp cocktail is also rubbery, overcooked, and flavorless. The only good thing to eat there is the postre de natas, which is great at any place that serves it since it's so easy to whip up. This place is probably just a place for Colombians who like their regional music to party and drink and then eat afterwards. So it's not a good idea to go for any other reason. And please, do not go at night if you want a peaceful dinner. It is basically a disco restaurant at night. I will say that the times I have been, the waitresses have provided good service and are well-mannered in my experiences there.

Service was ok. Had to ask numerous times and 3 different servers for a to go container. We asked for the meat medium and it came well done and cold. the environment is good but as to the quality of the food, it is not worth the price. Not a place I recommend as to food wise but environment and drinks it would be ok.

i just left this restaurant I was simply coming in to say hi to my mother she was here with family, and I had my service animal with me. The men with a "security" tag In The front prompted me no animals were allowed in but my dog is a working dog and service animal he told me I needed to show proof of card or certificate and real service animals do not have that, he continued and prompted that he has a service animal snd has a card for them. I know my ADA laws and rights and not only was I mistreated but they wouldn't let me past the hostess stand a crowd of men surrounded me and my working dog. I would love to speak to a manager or owner on this issue and leave it them and perhaps educate them on ADA service animal laws and regulations. Im beyond disappointed and quite frankly disgusted with this.

4th time in this place and extremely disappointed. Went with family for dinner and the quality of the food has slowly been deteriorating. The drinks are from 25 to 30 dollars. My husband and I ordered a whisky on the rocks which was $16 each, one margarita was $26. I ordered the fried snapper. It seemed like it was flash fried after sitting under heat lamps. I do not mind paying for quality food but when it lacks taste, seasoning, and presentation then it stings. Honestly I have ordered the fish before and tasted fresh....this time around the snapper was not fresh, required alot of lime and salt in order to actually enjoy it. This is the last time visiting this restaurant. If you are going to be charging 5 star prices, work on providing five star all around service.
