Randy's Donuts - Review - Buckhead - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"This California donut chain began way back in 1952 and has since become an Inglewood landmark. Unfortunately, their first Atlanta location won't get a giant donut sculpture (which would be understandably hard to work out since it's based out of the shipping container in the Lenox Mall parking lot that formerly held Da Vinci's Donuts). But we at least get to see what all the fuss is about when we try out their big variety of donuts (including fun ones that have fruity pebbles and churros). We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Juli Horsford

Tried Randy’s for the first time today! The donuts were VERY good. The classic raised (glazed) was the best I’ve had - so fluffy and soft. The apple fritter was great, but maybe a little on the denser side. Maple bacon long john was also delicious! The service was really good and friendly. The location itself is very small and tight.

Google
We got up early to check out Randy’s… we live nearby and the line is always out the door so we wanted to see what the hype was all about. The donuts were fantastic! They were moist and had great flavor. My husband ordered two Texas donuts and we didn’t realize how huge they are. They’re really big you definitely don’t need multiple of those. The plain glazed was my favorite, but I also got the blueberry and it was great. The service was friendly and fast and the prices are reasonable. We got two very large donuts, a twist donut and two regular sized ones. A chocolate milk and a coffee and that was all less than $30.

Randy’s Donuts has officially made its way to Atlanta, and I had the chance to check them out on day two of their grand opening. This new location sits right in the Lenox Mall parking lot, and it’s impossible to miss thanks to the iconic giant floating Randy’s donut perched outside. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with genuine Southern hospitality. A friendly gentleman outside welcomed guests with a warm smile, and that same energy carried through to the staff inside. As a first-timer, I kept it classic—glazed, strawberry with sprinkles, vanilla with sprinkles, and a chocolate cake donut. Each one was generously sized, soft, and fluffy with just the right touch of sweetness. The setup is container-style, so don’t expect indoor seating. It’s a grab-and-go spot, but they’ve got a patio deck if you want to pause and enjoy your treats on the spot. Overall: Great experience, great donuts, and even better vibes. I’ll definitely be back for another sweet treat

Google
Overall, a positive first experience with Randy’s Donuts. The donuts had a pleasantly chewy and soft texture, which I personally prefer, making them an ideal fit for my taste. While they weren’t particularly unique or groundbreaking, they were noticeably better than those from typical franchise brands. I look forward to visiting one of their original locations in California to experience the full offering firsthand.

I was excited to see Randy’s open in Atlanta. I visited the one in Inglewood, CA two years ago. Those were the best donuts I’ve ever had. Well that isn’t quite the case here. The staff was friendly and helpful, but the quality of the donuts, and the selections were not on point. I can get the same quality at Quick Trip for a much lower price.

DONT FOLLOW THE BANDWAGON unless you want to be hooked🪝 on Randy’s donuts 🍩 I didn’t want to believe the hype until I tried the donuts myself. I’m so glad that Randy’s decided to come to Atlanta, I’ve been waiting a long time to try these donuts. Right off the back it wasn’t as sweet as it looked granted, I did get there at 7 in the morning, so I’m not too sure if the timing you go changes your experience, but I know that there was freshly made ready to go. The original glazed doughnut was by for the best doughnut I have ever tasted. Krispy Kreme is extremely sweet. Every time I bite in their donut, I get that tingling sensation in the back of my mouth. On the other hand at Randy’s I tried six donuts and I believe the Homer Simpsons pink sprinkled doughnut gave me that sensation. That was also least favorite by the way didn’t really like that pink glaze on top. The sprinklers were fine. The strawberry filled doughnut was perfect 👌🏾 The filling tasted fresh, like it wasn’t artificially made in a way you can just tell deference.Indeed better than the other competitors. All the donuts were fluffy, moist and delicious to eat all in one bite. If they wasn’t an hour away, I’ll probably grab half a dozen every week. Definitely wanna try the jumbo Texas glazed doughnut if I remember correctly and their other flavors that they have to offer. I definitely recommend trying Randy’s at least once if you have it. Google
If these are supposedly the best donuts in LA, maybe that’s why I don’t like LA. Or they don’t know how to follow the recipe in Atlanta. Because these were absolute trash. The apple fritter was literally a giant grease bomb! Visually it looked OK and it was big but as soon as you’ve been into it, the grease feeling in your mouth the taste I mean I probably could’ve squeezed it like a sponge and watch the grease drip out of it. As far as the space it’s nonexistent. They make everybody wait outside. They allow one person in at a time then they take 10 minutes to box up the donuts. There was about 12 people ahead of me and it took over an hour for me to get inside. Then once you get inside, they try to push you to order at least a half dozen. I told him I didn’t need that many. I just needed one or two and they were like you sure you don’t want half dozen no just one or two and they literally kept pushing it and pushing it. Absolutely not the kind of place. I’d wanna go again. For what it’s worth I did end up ordering four donuts just because I felt obligated to order more than one, but they all ended up getting tossed in the trash because none of them were worth it.

Google
I am a huge Randy’s fan, everytime I’m in LA I grab a dozen donuts. Was super excited about them coming to Atlanta. My husband had a large glaze donut made for my birthday yesterday. Unfortunately when I pulled the donut apart to eat a piece of it, I discovered it was not cooked all the way. The entire inside was gummy dough. Totally ruined my 1st experience with the Atlanta location

Yelp
We came in on a Sunday morning (8/31). My friend, Dee took us there after a fantastic dinner the night before. Randy's is fairly famous - they're originally out of Cali and sport the giant donut above their building in Inglewood. Just in case, Robert Downey Jr. sat inside that giant donut while wearing his Iron Man suit in Iron Man 2. So there you go. Randy's has obviously grown in popularity that they've expanded outside of Cali. This Atlanta location (they're in the Lenox Mall parking lot) is small - they appear to be a shipping container converted into a kitchen and business. They offer only outdoor seating, which is perfect for a quiet morning. When we arrived, there was only one customer ahead of us. Both the employees and the customer were friendly. The customer was in town for the Tennessee-Syracuse (which was played on 8/30) game at Mercedes-Benz stadium. We told him we would be at the stadium later that day for Virginia Tech v. South Carolina. That exchange was pleasant, while the employee was helpful, polite and speedy. We took our six-pack of donuts back to Dee's place. We bought the following... Chocolate Long John with Cream Chocolate Texas Raised Coffee Raised Crondy Lemon Old Fashioned Red Velvet Cake We basically cut them up so we could try all of them. I enjoyed each donut, although the long john was my favorite. I can see why Randy's is so popular. Their donuts are simple (for the most part), are made with quality ingredients, and aren't super heavy. Since I grew up on Krispy Kreme, I don't like my donut to be all cute or extravagant. So Randy's is perfect for my simple-donut-loving palette. When combining the quality donuts with the excellent service, Randy's is the spot. If you're ever in ATL and/or want some good donuts, definitely hit them up. Thank you, Randy's! JV

Yelp
I ordered these over DoorDash for guests staying over so I can't say much to the service onsite or the way the place feels inside. I got the Maple Long John with cream and was happy to try some of the other flavors. I'm big on Maple. The flavors are good and there are plenty of choices. If you've got a sweet tooth, this will definitely crush that craving. If you eat more than one, you might get a stomach ache because the donuts are very rich and very sweet. We also got the Pink with Sprinkles, because this place screams that is the one for you. Overall, for a frosted donut, I enjoyed it. I absolutely love sprinkles so that was fun. So many choices, so little stomach and my insulin is no cheap, so I recommend giving them a try. I have had better donuts, but the options here are better than Dunkin and Tim Hortons. Well worth the experience.

Yelp
Donuts eat under the big sky taste the best! I feel sick to my stomach after eating donuts from other chain stores, but the donuts here didn't.
google avatar

Yelp
Worst old, greasy donuts ever! Why have a business that does not make donuts fresh onsite. They are made ahead of time and brought in. I used to live in Cali. ( where Randy's is from) There donuts were good. This is a pop up in a shipping container in the far flung corner of a parking lot! When I found it, I knew better. But gave it a shot! Gross, gross, gross. I guess if you were stoned out of your mind you might, and I mean might, think they were good! Ugh, nasty!
google avatar

Enna J.

Yelp
BEST DONUTS EVERRRRR!!! The donuts are huge, soft inside and crispy/chewy outside. Perfectly sweet. So many flavor combo! If you're only getting 1, definitely try the "raised" donuts. Affordable. Not to mention the customer service is top notch. No wonder they're all the craze in CA. We've been back 3x in 2wks.

Yelp
I was so excited for the opening of Randy's Atlanta and they didn't disappoint! Randy's is located in the corner of the parking lot of Lenox near Cheesecake Factory and Apple. You won't miss it as a huge donut is out front! I went on a Saturday morning and was able to easily get a parking place. But I could see this being a problem during high volume times at the mall. Once I arrived, there was a line way out the door which was a 20 minute wait but the line was constantly moving. I'm hoping once the newness wears off the line won't be like that! Once I got inside, the staff had the best system on getting orders out the door! I ordered an arrangement of six donuts and every single one was delicious! Lastly, the shop is small so there is no seating inside. But they do have a nice place right outside to enjoy your donuts on a nice day! See you soon!

Yelp
It is always exciting when new pop-ups arrive in Atlanta, especially when it's the world-famous Randy's Donuts. I had high expectations, especially since the line was out the door on a random Wednesday morning. Let's start with the positives: the service was exceptional. I walked into the small store just as a customer was placing a large order, and the staff couldn't have been sweeter or more accommodating with suggestions, all while the line kept growing! Of course, it wouldn't be a proper review if I only tried one donut, so to maintain my Yelp Elite status, I purchased four flavors to take home. Each donut earned high marks for freshness and variety. However, I had to deduct a few points for excitement. I wanted to give them a better rating for taste, but nothing stood out enough for me to rave about. They were good, but not life-changing. Overall, I would give them a solid 7! I encourage people to visit, take a picture next to the inflatable donut, and enjoy a pretty good donut experience.

Yelp
I understand why these donuts are so popular. These are some of the best donuts I have ever had. This location is inside the parking lot of the Lenox Mall. Finding a parking spot could be a bit of a hassle if the mall is busy. I was able to get my donuts quick. I got an original glazed raised. chocolate raised, apple fritter, and some chocolate donut/croissant hybrid. I liked them all.

Yelp
My fiancé and I had plans to go to the gym. On our way, we decided we really weren't feeling it and took a detour to Randy's Donuts instead. This location just opened up near Lenox, and I was excited to try it! My fiancé had fond memories of enjoying it back when he lived in California, and was craving his old favorites. AMBIANCE: 4/5 -The shop is a cute and industrial little building. As adorable as it is though, it doesn't lend itself very well to lines. There isn't much room inside, so the wait extends out the door. SERVICE: 5/5 -Despite the line, the workers inside are very efficient and move quickly. They have their system down pat, and do it all with smiles. We experienced professionalism and kindness! FOOD: 4.5/5 -Today, we chose Blueberry Iced Cake & Raspberry Jelly Filled & Pink Raised with Sprinkles & Nutella Raised. All of them tasted yummy! I do wish that they had Boston Cream, which is my favorite, but they do have other yummy selections. It feels very classic. The quality is obviously much higher than your average Dunkin Donuts, but less creative than some of the other gourmet donut shops around town like Revolution Doughnuts. All in all, we enjoyed our selections and look forward to trying more!

Yelp
I was so excited to finally experience THEE Randy's Donuts. While I still would like to visit the original location, I'm so happy they've extended a location to ATL. The shop is located in the little tuck of the parking lot across from Lenox Mall's main entrance. The iconic donut sign is posted right infront you can't miss it. The shop is a grab-and-go vibe, there isn't anywhere to sit, however this is a little counter space right outside of it for you to savor a few bites before heading out. The young men behind the counter were SO sweet, truly a great first impression. I was there not only try Randy's for the first time, but also to pick up some donuts for my co-workers. I ordered the following: Glazed Old Fashioned/M&M's Raised/Blueberry Iced Cake/Butter Crumb Raised/Chocolate Long John with Cream/Glazed Twist/Chocolate Iced Cake The donuts that were an absolute hit were the glazed old fashioned, the buttercrumb raised, and the chocolate long john. Oh my goodness the chocolate long john was so good we couldn't stop talking about it....it was like an eclair but better. I did notice they offered drink options, and if my hands weren't full of all those donuts, I would've gotten myself a coffee. Guess that gives me a reason to go back, but do we really need a reason to return to a donutshop? :)
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped by on a Friday morning to grab donuts with some friends -- and they were TASTY. The shop is a small, order-at-the-counter spot located in the Lenox Mall parking lot. We were easily able to park and had no wait. There's a little counter outside if you want to eat there, but we took our donuts to go and enjoyed them at home. The staff was super friendly and happy to answer all our questions. There are so many fun options on the menu -- I'll definitely be back to try something more adventurous next time. However the classic raised rainbow sprinkle donut I got did not disappoint!
google avatar

Ashley M.

Yelp
Made a stop at Lenox and we intentionally decided to try these donuts since we were in the area. The line wasn't long. Maybe a 6 -8 min wait. Not too long. The lady was very courteous and helpful with all questions we had and explaining the differences in some donuts. Moving on...we tried some of the donuts and to be honest the lemon glazed and chocolate iced wasn't it. It just didn't taste too good. The chocolate had a weird taste. And the lemon, didn't taste fresh in addition to the flavor. The sprinkle was good. I'm writing this real time so I'm hesitant to even taste the glazed lol. I can say the blueberry doesn't look visually appealing but I'll stop right here bc it's not my donut. Im not in any position to rush back to the location to try something again but I won't count it out.
google avatar

Nisha B.

Yelp
Got the s'mores donut and it was so soft, fluffy, and delicious. I do wish they were served warm though. Also the parking situation would prevent me from coming here, it is so complicated to park at Lenox these days. The line can be out the door so be prepared. Limited seating out front. Quick service
google avatar

Carol Lynn S.

Yelp
Then place is very small you and go In and change your mind it's so small the staff very friendly I had the maple raised the donut was so moist but chewy scale from 1 to 10 I give it yummy as hell lol also had the coffee raised scale 1 to 10 solid 7 When I was going to pay this nice graduate paid for my donuts what a nice guy that put my faith that people can be nice made my day great donuts also positive interaction n It's a good day

Yelp
I just heard about Randy's Donuts today. They are based in California and this is their first venue on the East Coast. It is in what looks like a food truck in the parking lot of the Lenox Mall. (Just look for the giant inflatable donut!). Upon entering we were overwhelmed by the numerous choices available! You can't even see them all in the case; so they have a donut menu with colored pictures to choose from. I decided on a Crondy, (croissant donut, $4.00) and a lemon old-fashioned donut, $3.50. Both were good; but I especially enjoyed the Crondy. It was sweet and flaky! My sister had the red velvet cake donut, $4.50, and the butter crumb donut, $4.00. She thought the red velvet needed a little more frosting, but it was good. We all loved the butter crumb one. My daughter had the Nutella raised, $4.50, and she loved it! My husband had the maple bacon long john, also $4.50, and he loved it although he said it was "enough sugar for a horse!" Overall the service was fast and friendly, and they had all our choices available at about 11:00 on a Monday. It ended up costing us about $28 (including a tip,) for 6 donuts! Randy's Donuts are decadent and delicious ; but definitely more of a novelty or special occasion treat rather than a weekly donut shop stop.
google avatar

Rachel W.

Yelp
Basically gourmet donuts that look like average donuts for the most part. The cheapest donut comes in at a steep $3, and scales up from there depending on how premium the donut is. The most expensive tier of donuts is $4.50. I guess I didn't come in mentally prepared for such steep prices because I admittedly faced a little sticker shock. A glazed donut here costs $3, while a glazed donut at a local donut store costs ~$1.50; so the real question then becomes - are these donuts /that/ good? While I only picked one donut to try, my conclusion is: yes and no. Price aside, the donut I got was good and a bit unique. I got the butter crumb glazed which was yummy! I love me a good yeast donut, and this one for sure was good. Sadly, it's so hard to drop almost $5 on a singular donut after tax. I would come back to try the crondy since that also seems unique, but due to the high price points, this will not be a regular spot for me. Located in the back of the Lenox Mall parking lot (the lot across the valet in front of the Nike store). Randy's is tucked in the back corner of the parking lot, and took over what used to be DaVinci Donuts. They also have their iconic inflatable donut visible from the street. Card only, no cash.

Jacquelyn W.

Yelp
Being from LA, was looking forward to Randy's coming to ATL but disappointed at the small container building it was in. Full selection not there. The lady working was very pleasant so no complaints there. Locale is somewhat awkward to get to.

Neda Z.

Yelp
Worst donuts. The donuts were undercooked. They were way too sweet yet lacked any distinct flavors. They all tasted the same. Also way too overpriced for the subpar quality. All the ones we got were individually priced at $4.50 and up as if they're some sort of premium quality when they're basically worse than Dunkin' lol. GPS gives wrong location so it was a hassle to find as well. It's in the busy parking lot across from the Apple Store. First and last time for us.
google avatar

Taylor F.

Yelp
Incredibly mid. These donuts tasted like old grease. I've had much better. Despite that, the texture was spot on and the staff was efficient.

Yelp
Ray''s is the place to grab a good breakfast sandwich and a couple dozen donuts. Customers service is great and they always have a smile for you..check them out on Tara Blvd next to the chick fil a
google avatar

Janine B.

Yelp
*Sigh* feels like I have been giving out a ton of 1 star reviews lately and that's not my goal so I will give 3 stars with this explanation: The donuts deserve 1 star but the service deserved 3/5 or 4 stars, so I will average to 3 stars. I am sorry if this is your first Randy's experience. This is not how the original California location tastes at all, but it is how ALL of the franchises seem to taste. The donut was old and the frosting seems like they burned the chocolate. If you have ever had the original Randy's, you know that their donuts don't ever taste old a d it's crazy how long you can have them at home before they do. They also dipped the chocolate in glaze first like Krispy Kreme (gross), it was not good at all. The donuts were so expensive, more than the original. The atmosphere is the same as the original, stand in line outside but that hits different at 90 degrees in the ATL sun instead of being breezy and minutes from the beach in LA. This is a "try once and wait til you land in L.A. to get again" situation.

Yelp
AMAZING !! I had such a great experience at the new Randy's Donuts location in Buckhead! I arrived right after closing and didn't realize they were closed, but the OWNER kindly let me in anyway, and I was blown away by how friendly and welcoming the entire team was. Everyone had great energy and treated me with kindness and patience, even though they were technically done for the day. The donuts were fresh, delicious, and absolutely lived up to the hype. Big thanks to the staff for going above and beyond.. you've definitely gained a loyal customer!
google avatar

Yelp
Get your tastebuds ready because Randy's Donuts is coming to Buckhead @ Lenox Square Mall! We're all so excited for this and can't wait to sell them out every day! Come get you a taste and if you have to wait, it'll be 100% worth. Moist, yummy, packed with goodness. Let me get to the treadmill neooowww!! Go get you one!

Yelp
Cancelled my order I had placed 2 days prior because they were out of ONE of the four items.... Was supposed to be a surprise for my partner and I's anniversary. Now I'm left empty handed when there easily could've been a substitution. Wth

Yelp
Arguably the best donut I've ever had, which is surprising because I didn't even eat it fresh. It arrived in about 40 minutes via DoorDash, and although it was cold the flavor was AMAZING. The texture is perfect and soft.

Brenda T.

Yelp
Great customer service & donuts are so good. 10 out of 10. There's a man that works there that is always extremely nice & patient

Yelp
Coffee raised and glazed crondy are my fav!!! Usually fast service and it's so sad when the donut I want is sold out.

Yelp
I strongly recommend Randy's Donuts. Too often I have found that so many donut shops these days focused on trendy and ridiculous donuts (like 3 strips of bacon, other weird toppings, etc.). I am so pleased that while Randy's offers those deluxe donuts should you want them, they also have a strong lineup of classic donuts, like a glazed twist, old fashioned, or chocolate glazed. I usually just want a nice old fashioned, and Randy's is excellent. I first tried these for myself on a weekend, loved them, and then took 2 dozen to the office on a Friday. I got to the office at 8AM and they were gone by 9AM. On a Friday, in a smallish office where most folks work from home that day! Lots of folks stopped by to say how much they enjoyed them. I agree. I'm so glad Randy's opened. Their donuts are delicious, and provide a great variety for all tastes. I wish them well, and will certainly be back!

John ..

Yelp
Outstanding donuts. They are expensive but well worth it! We enjoyed the glaze, blueberry, eclair, cherry, chocolate chip donuts! The glaze donut is thee donut to try!

Yelp
When I heard that Randy's Donuts opened a location at Lenox Mall, I had to check it out. My kids and I first tried their donuts in LA. Their donuts are the most fluffy, soft, and consistently delicious. I was not disappointed! I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Alvin. He's a gem! Stop by to satisfy your sweet tooth and I just know you won't regret it.

Ashlee M.

Yelp
I love Randys donuts. One of the best you'll ever have. The recipe taste the same in LA and ATL

Yelp
OMG, best donuts I've ever had in my life, the service is wonderful, people are so nice, the ambience is also great. Definitely recommended, I am picky when it comes to donuts, so this place is great.

Yelp
donuts were amazing. I enjoyed them with my coffee, love the great smiles and customer service.

Yelp
Randy's Doughnuts has amazing doughnuts and top-tier customer service, plus the doughnuts are big!

Yelp
Wondering if this is the spot that originated in Southern Cali. Either way, the service was amazing! I was amazed with how patient, and kind they were with my daughter. Family friendly for sure. Be sure to check out the Glaze, and the Oreo one as well! I'll definitely be returning. The donuts are delicious.

Jessica A.

Yelp
It's not open yet but they gave us some free samples of their cake donuts. So delicious! Very light and fluffy. They taste like an old fashioned sour cream donut. Can't wait to try their other flavors when they officially open July 3!

Yelp
Great Donuts can't wait to invite more people to try them. Their glaze donuts are highly recommended!

Ashley M.

Yelp
Where can I start I would recommend this place I really like there donuts they are soft and pillowy not hard and they taste really good if you are in the area I would recommend stopping by and getting a donut here.

Raneen A.

Yelp
The best donuts ever. I'm so happy they came down to ATL. Every time I'm in LA they're my go to donut spots. I'm so excited Calvin was amazing and so sweet.

leisa s.

Yelp
Hands down, best donuts! We were in town for a few nights and we were walking to the mall when we saw this cute little donut joint in the parking lot of Lenox Mall. We decided to try the glaze and some kind of chocolate cake type donut. The glazed was the best donut ever, the chocolate, we didn't care for. Two nights later we went back and got 5 different donuts and holy cow they were all delicious. Not a big maple fan but this one changed that. The thing is their icing isn't too sweet, just right. My favorite was the vanilla iced cake, but crumb cake was a close second. I love that these folks are from LA and doing their thing and doing it well. So damn good!!! 5 stars for sure!

Lisa S.

Yelp
I used to frequent Randy's Donuts in LA when I was there frequently on business. After taking a position with a new employer my territory moved to Seattle. No Randy's donuts! :(. So I was pleasantly surprised to find a location at Lenox Mall while taking a personal trip to Atlanta, I purchased all of my favorites from a wonderful lady who made sure my box was well packaged for the trip back to Northern California. The service was wonderful and the donuts were delicious! Thanks a bunch!

Omg seen the truck from the corner of my street parked at Lennox mall! He was very friendly and inviting! They were so thick and good! Don't really need a review tho! A must try..

Yelp
I was visiting relatives in Atlanta last week and tried my first Randy's donuts. The service at the Lenox Mall store was outstanding and the quality of the donuts was exceptionally high. I returned to the store 3 days in a row. When I left Atlanta on Saturday, I purchased a dozen donuts and transported them with me. I also turned my entire family in Atlanta on to Randy's donuts. In the airport, I had four offers from fellow passengers to purchase my entire box of Randy's donuts. One passenger offered me $100 in cash for them, but this offer was summarily rejected. I look forward to the day when a Randy's store opens in my area. I am addicted to them now.

Yelp
while over at Lenox mall, I decided to stop and purchased a couple of Randy's donuts my first time trying them and they are amazing. These donuts are a must try.

Yelp
I love that a piece of LA is in Atlanta now. Calvin and Alvin had such great hospitality and were so kind. The best tasting donuts and such a great spot for a treat. :)

Yelp
Heard how awesome they are! Was working nearby and tried to visit today, but was closed when I checked at 9:30, 10:30, and noon. No sign on the door, chairs up on the tables and door locked. Hope they didn't go out of business already! Giving 5 stars for the benefit of a doubt, they might have just had a staff or equipment issue today and don't want to ruin their 5 star rating. Hopefully can try again soon.
