Randy’s Donuts and Homie’s Donuts, Two Out-of-Town Bakeries, Have Opened in Manhattan | Eater NY

"This 70-year-old Los Angeles brand officially opens its first East Coast shop on 185 Bleecker Street, at MacDougal Street, in Greenwich Village, bringing more than 30 flavors divided into classic (sugar, sprinkled), deluxe (blueberry cake, chocolate long john), and fancy (coconut, bear claw)." - Melissa McCart

LA’s Randy’s Donuts Is Opening in Manhattan | Eater NY

"Opening in early December at 185 Bleecker and MacDougal in Greenwich Village, this iconic Los Angeles doughnut shop brings more than 70 years of West Coast doughnut culture to New York, with a lineup of 30-plus varieties spanning “classic” glazed and chocolate raised, sugar raised, and sprinkles; “deluxe” old-fashioneds; “fancy” jelly-filled, cinnamon rolls, and apple fritters; and “premium” options like Texas glazed, s’mores raised, and Nutella, plus Randy’s Rounds (doughnut holes) and a full lineup of coffee drinks. Founded in 1952 as part of the Big Donut drive-in chain created by a doughnut-machine salesman who leaned into spectacle, the California flagship—renamed in the 1970s—still looms over Inglewood with a giant rooftop doughnut seen on TV, in films, and across social media, and since attorney Mark Kelegian bought the business in 2015 it has expanded across Southern California, Las Vegas, Phoenix, and abroad to South Korea, Saudi Arabia, the Philippines, and Japan. As a West Coast institution defined by cultural recognition and everyday appeal—“about as iconic a food destination as there ever has been”—its Greenwich Village debut asks New Yorkers to decide whether this Southern California symbol belongs in their pastry canon." - Melissa McCart

Google
First time here and what an experience! The night crew Miko and the other guy (he’s tall) they had the best vibes for this shop. The donuts were delicious and I would say the glazed old fashion, red velvet, iced blueberry, a Nutella and cream donut were the absolute best. Welcome to NYC and as a born and raised New Yorker I recommend everyone come here.

Google
solid glazed donut, staff are very friendly and attentive, definitely a must stop if you're in the west village. 10/10 would go back and will recommend to friends.

I work night shift in the building around the corner and the owner stopped by to let us try their donuts. Every donut was delicious. Much better than any donut in the neighborhood. Thank you for thinking of us!

Google
Amazing donuts and well priced. The giant pink donut is so cute!! They’re not open until Tuesday but the owner was nice enough to let us try some samples. My puppy was a huge fan hehe.

Absolutely incredible! The donuts here are on a whole different level—soft, fresh, and packed with flavor. Can’t wait for their grand opening!

Google
Never been a donut lover but Randy’s was introduced to me by a cult Randy’s fanatic! I have to say i was wrong and this little spot has something for everyone! Oversized dinner plate sized donuts in classic flavors to petite gourmet flavors and holiday specials. Prices are right too - big box full for under 25 dollars! And finally, a great friendly team who provided enthusiastic recommendations with a smile. Perhaps I am a donut lover???

Ian, Andy, and Robert were sooo kind and sweet. The donuts are the bomb dot com—my friend said she got a good taste of LA! Asked them about butter crumb donut please!

Google
I allow myself to eat donuts only in hannukah, but Randy’s is my only excuse to break this rule. Their donuts are so good, light and not greasy at all. The crew is so kind. Highly recommend!

Yelp
The one & only California famous is here & it's central & fantastic! I wandered by before they opened and I was welcomed with samples. The classic chocolate is super fresh & unfamcy & perfect. There's so many great flavors here and I can't wait to come back. There's Randy's Roast if you want a cuppa with your delicious donuts. Donut perfection. Welcome to NYC.

Yelp
Can't believe a Randy's opened up in NY! The original has been around since the early '50s, and they offer a variety of donuts, such as: Plain Cake, Glaze, Sugar Raise, Chocolate Raise, Iced Cake, Crumb Cake, Wheat & Honey, Devil's Food, Chocolate Old Fashion, Twist, Long John, Jelly, Buttermilk, Coconut, and French Cruller. We ordered the Glaze, the Long John, the Sprinkles, and a Cinnamon Roll. The cake-iness of the donuts was there, with not being overly sweet. I am a huge fan of their Long Johns, so glad that they had those readily available! Getting there early is key, as lines do form quickly! Service is top-notch, with the line moving along with the efficiency. +Long Johns! +cake-y donuts +friendly & efficient service +get there early!

Yelp
So glad Randy's Donuts is here! Walked by yesterday when the guys were getting ready to open today, met Scott. He gave me some free donuts to try, they were great. Will be a convenient stop on Bleeker!
