"Rang brings modern Indian tapas and spice-forward cocktails from Delhi-born and Queens-raised chef Abishek Sharma. According to a representative, expect saag paneer kofta, chile chicken bao buns with Sichuan sauce, and cucumber- and earl grey-infused vodkas combined with yuzu and Darjeeling tea." - Eater Staff

Google
The food was excellent with really good flavors and at a super reasonable price point. For apps, we got the veggie samosas, which were excellent. We got the chicken tikka masala and the truffle korma with chicken for mains with a side of garlic naan and paratha. the garlic naan was INSANE- so light, crispy, and fluffy at the same time. i literally could have eaten two orders. out of the two chickens we got- definitely recommend the chicken tikka masala. It definitely a small spot, with limited space. You also get served with paper plates and take out containers, which we didn’t mind, but just a heads-up. I definitely recommend for take out and will be back!

Stopped by and ordered a Chicken Kati Roll sandwich. It was very delicious and the wrap was not thick like a Naan just perfect. Nice and juicy and I enjoyed every bite . Nice and pleasant ambience and I will be back. Definitely will recommend.

Google
A great happy hour experience, will definitely be back! Their HH specials are spectacular, $8 specialty cocktails (reg $17)! They also have great apps, we got an order of butter chicken loaded fries for $8 that were flavorful and indulgent, and a really good portion! Service was also great, the person who served us was extremely friendly and eager to provide recommendations. Both my partner and I find most cocktails to be too sweet, and she was quick to offer to make the cocktails to our liking. Food came out quick and drinks were good, we left satisfied and happy!

I would have given Rang by Chef Abhishek a 10 if possible. After seeing a review on IG, I brought the family here and the experience was extraordinary. We started with the Achari mushrooms which were delicious but I didn’t really like the tenderness of the mushrooms. We then had the Pav Bhaji which was delicious and perfectly spiced. My youngest enjoyed it so much she wanted more for the main course. The samosas were so good I ordered another plate and I’m contemplating ordering a 3rd and 4th plate to take home. Perfectly cooked with a tasty filling and flaky, crispy crust. Next came the chipotle paneer tikka. My god! Delicious! Try the burnt edge after cleansing your palette and it will blow your mind. We had the tikka tasting which was also delectable. Main course was baingan bharta which isn’t on the menu but they made it for us anyway. We also had the butter chicken and chicken biryani which was also go. I would have ate more but I was stuffed. The whole time we were here, the people walking by were commenting on how delicious the food smelled. It tasted even better. You will truly enjoy your visit here. Make reservations in advanced because the eatery is small but outdoor seating is available. You will definitely enjoy this place.

need a little spice each day, everyday, especially weekdays here in new york. I found this modern Indian cuisine in LIC. I feel surrounded with creamy, buttery, abundant spices, and layers of complicity... and yes with fluffy rice📍Rang has awaken my taste buds. The healthy choices: truffle cashews butter cauliflower and Market Greens Paneer. Tastes great and I even invented a newer eating serve with lettuce. The restaurant is cute and with a bar. Hanging out with friends in weekends with their menu “small bites” and cocktails is on my agenda. I’m also impressed their staffs which are super attentive and fun! Thanks so much Keyshla!

Google
Great flavors. Nice portions. Friendly service. Cute small place. Ordered tiki masala and butter chicken. Both delicious with some mouth watering fresh Naan bread.

Google
Banging!! 1st taste of chicken tikka masala/butter chicken. Food was amazing, best in LIC area. Perfectly cooked chicken, lamb chops were thick and cooked to perfection. Chicken briyani was great as well (biryani might be a little to spicy for, but for me it was perfect). Samoa chaat was very good as well. Priced perfect, you get plenty of food for the price. Great job #RANG

Google
One of my new favorite spots in LIC - tucked away from the busy spots, it’s well worth a trip up here. The food is absolutely delicious as are the cocktails. The small plates really hit the spot for happy hour. The place is small but intimate. Looking forward to coming back soon and trying out a few more options!

Yelp
After a visit to PS1Moma it was a quick walk to Rang. A small place with bar service. We had the whole place to ourselves on a cold early Saturday night which was great! The food was excellent and so was the service. Definitely give the cauliflower and Bao Buns a try. The Naan was grilled well and went well with the saag paneer and butter chicken. The place was decorated with fun and interesting art too.

Yelp
Is berang duniya mein, we are all looking for color. Sadly I found the colors of "Rang" made their way into the inviting decor of this charming street food focused eatery in LIC, but not necessarily into the flavor palate of the items we tried. Our group had just finished sharing donuts from Kora nearby, so we just focused on appetizers, specifically the bhindi fries, lasooni gobhi, and beetroot tikki chaat. Nowadays with plentiful desi street food options in the city, I didn't find anyone of the flavors here extraordinary. The chaat could have used a mix of more masalas, it tasted mostly just like yogurt and green chutney. The bhindi fries were probably the best of the 3 items.

Yelp
Good Indian food in a cozy nook with great music and decor! Come here for curries that make you feel good, not necessarily curries that take you to India. I went early one night and didn't have trouble finding a seat: they only have 14 seats so be sure to get a reservation if you're going during peak hours. The food was excellent: creamy curry and flavorful garlic naan. I got the truffle chicken korma, and while I didn't taste much truffle in it, it was still rich and delicious. It was weird that my food didn't come in bowls, and just came in takeout containers with disposable cutlery: I felt a bit silly eating takeout in the restaurant. They had also run out of receipt paper, so I had to pay my bill at the counter. Food is great, service could be better, but the homey ambiance makes up for it!

Yelp
One of the gems in this cove within LIC. They offer lunch specials and the portion is good to share for two people. I ordered the Tikka masala and it was delish! Again, the portion is generous. The staff are friendly and very attentive. The only reason why this is not a 5-star review is because they didn't have the item I ordered initially. By the way, the operate in a broken schedule, 12nn-3pm and 5pm-10pm.

Yelp
For the size of this place, I really didn't expect a whole lot. There's about 3 small tables in the store, with a few bar seats, and when I arrived, there was basically no one inside. It was a bit awkward as I waited for my friends to arrive. Looks like maybe lots of people order their meals to go, because honestly the food was fantastic. I can't comment on the authenticity of the meal, but every dish we ordered was spot on for taste, with large portions too. It was a bit confusing to order with the server adding a Spanish accent to the Indian dish names, but at least she was very friendly and accommodating. We each got a cocktail here. Overall, they're decent cocktails, but seemed to have inconsistent alcohol content. Overall, I'd definitely at the very least come back for a take out order!

Yelp
Came here couple months ago because I was craving Indian food. However, when I came for my reservation, I was waiting for a server or just SOMEONE to welcome me for the firs 5 minutes. It is definitely a small place here; very limited seating and not much space between the tables. But their lunch special is definitely a steal! For the price the portion size and taste are pretty good. I asked for garlic naan for my pairing. The drink was a bit too thick and sour, so I was not able to finish it before leaving. I think here is definitely good to just satisfy your cravings, but not for the vibes or to come with a big party.

Yelp
Small joint but there's outdoor seating when the weather is nice. Food is superb but be aware it leans towards the British side of Indian food which means they emphasize cream over spice (which is totally fine for me!). Other things to keep in mind is that the website has a menu, the sign outside had a different menu, and when we sat down it was yet a different menu--they cycle between a full menu, lunch menu, and brunch menu. if you're going on a holiday or something it's best to call in and ask first if you care. Of note is the amazing manager/waitress who'll take care of you! She happens to have a Puerto Rican accent and my wife (who is Indian) and I got a kick out f her pronunciation of the dishes which was new for us.

Julia S.

Yelp
A tiny and cute little gem ! The food here is delicious and super flavorful !! We ordered many things off the menu - the veggie samosas, aloo chaat, kfc chicken, tikka bao buns, chipotle paneer, chicken Kati roll, coconut curry fish, garlic naan, and the gulag jamun. Everything was superb !!! Our waitress Keyshla was so nice and attentive. I would definitely come back.

Salina T.

Yelp
New to LIC, it's a small place packed with lots of flavor! The Naan was SO fresh and full of fresh yummy onions. All the food was honestly delicious and service was attentive, Heysha (spelling might be wrong) was a wonderful server and manager where she gave us good food recommendations and was quick to serve drinks/food. Ordered: Lala ji's biryiani (chicken) Butter chicken paneer Goat ghee roast Beetroot and potatoe tikki chat Chana masala Assortment Naan Service: 5/5 Taste: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5

Yelp
Delicious little spot, a welcome addition to the neighborhood!! It wasn't too busy when we went but since space is limited i'd recommend you get a reservation just in case. They also have a happy hour with some apps and a great cocktail selection. Service was top notch as well! We tried: - fried chicken 9/10: delicious and flavorful, the meat was in little strips so they were juicy - paneer 9/10: really flavor-loaded, there was a sliiiight bitter taste that i don't normally encounter which ticked it off a point but it was still very good - goat ghee roast 10/10: definitely my favorite of the meal, the meat was surprisingly tender and the sauce was remarkable - lamb chop 9/10: also a delight, it came with 5 pieces of delicious meat, and not too over bearing Can't wait to go back to try the rest of the menu & also the lunch menu!

Liz K.

Yelp
Still good, but in just 4 months my go to month lunch special price went from $13 to $16, and is marked $15 on the menu. Wasn't worth bringing up with the waiter when we paid, but feels odd, The place is always empty at lunch time, to the point that the server is sometimes not present when you walk in. The food is still tasty, though!

Michael C.

Yelp
Decent Indian food in the heart of LIC. The waitress was extremely kind and friendly, that was a highlight. The aloo tiki chaat was the best thing I ate there, fragrant, sweet, and tangy. The garlic naan was perfectly crisp, fresh from the tandoor. However, the butter paneer I had wasn't as fragrant as I'd have liked, nor was the paneer texture great. It was a below average curry with a below average paneer, and that brought the overall score down a fair bit. The rice it came with was bland. I'd give them another shot, but not the best Indian food in the area. Cardamomm in Sunnyside is just better taste wise, imho.

Yelp
Seriously get your butt up and run here, but not on a Tuesday they are closed. The lunch special you need to jump on is the coconut fish curry. Wow it's seriously to die for. Not to mention this special comes with rice and Naan. I love this little spot. We got our food to go and sat in the little area near iconyc brewery. I highly recommend this place. They recently opened. Loving the vibes from this spot and the decor. The breads and sides are pretty cheap too. The serve wines, beers and cocktails. The masala fries are pretty good too they were only $6. The cocktails are $15 bucks a pop. I personally enjoyed a nice glass of wine and the Indian lemonade.

Juniper N.

Yelp
The people who work here are so nice and friendly. Really warm service. But the food - although not bad - didn't really taste like Indian food. The chola tasted too tomato-y, the Kathi roll didn't have egg cooked into the roti and tasted more like scrambled eggs stuffed inside a naan, the paneer wasn't crispy and also too much tomato. The flavors were also off- needed more masala. All in all, tasted like it wanted to be Indian food, but just didn't make it. Maybe I would try it for just drinks next time. Again, the service is really great.

Yelp
My friends and I had a fantastic lunch at Rang before heading to PS 1 MOMA (about an 11 minute walk). Their lunch menu includes many vegetarian options, as well as some meat and fish. You get a generous portion plus naan bread and white rice. Four of us shared one samosa chaat to start, which was fabulous, plus four lunch specials: chana masala, daal tadka, market greens panir (which was a standout) and coconut fish curry. Each dish was super flavorful but not too hot. The lemonade was delicious too. It's 7 hours later and I'm still full. We sat outside in the shed (the indoors is tiny) and our waiter was attentive and helpful. I will be back!

Ryan Y.

Yelp
After our pottery class we got lunch at Rang. It was around 1:30pm and it was empty. I think they get more takeout orders rather than sit in because it is such a small place. We ordered the Butter Chicken and the Coconut Fish Curry (which is served with rice and bread). It's nice that they have lunch specials on weekends, but portion sizes were a little small. Overall, the food was just okay. The owner/chef was very attentive to us and friendly though.

Yelp
Hands down the best modern Indian food in Long Island City!! If you're ever in the area this is a place that you NEED to stop by. We had both the truffle cauliflower and chicken korma and it was so buttery and delicious with a modern twist and the chicken korma has such depth in flavor due to the chicken and the spices. We were ravenous when we walked in and the service was impeccable and we received our fresh food immediately. The hostess is such a delight -- she's very attentive and happy all the time. Not to mention the playlist! It set the ambiance of a cool, new wave Indian cuisine place and perfectly paired with the truffle cauliflower korma. I will be returning next week!

Neil M.

Yelp
Rang had tasty Indian and Indian-Chinese food. The entrees were good, and the garlic naan some of the best I've had. They have a small amount indoor seating (2 tables and a bar), but plenty of outdoor space. Food was served quick and the host/server is attentive and delightful.

Johanna R.

Yelp
If you're up for something different, check out Rong in Long Island City. It's not your run-of-the-mill Indian restaurant; it's tapas-style. I had Sprouted Lentils Dahi Puri and Chicken Tikka, and my husband had the Chilly Chicken Bao Buns and Goat Ghee Roast. All were delicious. The service was attentive, and the atmosphere is really nice. You can even sit at the bar if you're feeling social. Prices are moderate, so it's perfect for a fun night out.

Shail Nandini Maitrie S.

Yelp
Great place for a quick bite or a casual dinner with friends, family or your partner. Their food is taste great and their biryanis might be one of the kept secrets in town. Just go and try them out.

Julianne L.

Yelp
Amazing food. Good vegan options. Friendly service. Spicy cocktails. Great happy hour prices.

Stephanie C.

Yelp
Good food for the price. A bit out of the way and in a small location, but it's definitely worth the walk from Court Square/Jackson Ave. I've ordered delivery a few times and have gotten take out and the tikka masala and garlic naan have been consistently good.

John S.

Yelp
This is some of the best Indian food I've had in NYC. Great flavor, texture, and quality. We order it for take-out almost weekly and its consistently good. Highly recommend the Paneer Saag appetizer! Inside is also cute and cozy and not overly crowded if you want to dine in.

Neghena H.

Yelp
So heads up, this is a pretty tiny space. Probably like seating for 10 and only two tables for a group (four people and two people). The rest is bar seating. This place is more catered towards non-Indian people who can eat Indian food without the spice. The food looks great in photos and it is a cute place but if you want good Indian food I suggest somewhere else. It's good for light bites but not a proper meal. I ordered their butter chicken and only took a few bites bc there was still a lot of fat on the meat which grossed me out.

Stacey G.

Yelp
Sweet little spot with delicious food, high quality ingredients, and a kind owner / chef. Worth the trip from Brooklyn, will go back. Loved the beet root and potato tikki chaat, the mushroom appetizer and I got the fish curry with lentils which was delicious. Everyone else was happy with their mains of butter chicken, chicken tikka masala and cauliflower curry. It's a small space but they take reservations.

Jon M.

Yelp
Have been here twice so far and have to say the food and service have been great. This has quickly become my favorite Indian restaurant in the LIC area. Food is very flavorful and drinks are pretty good as well. Highly recommend the kerala fried chicken, chilly chicken bao buns, biriyani, and chettinanad chops for food and flight to Delhi, maharani's marg, and I am basdshah for drinks.

Hank Z.

Yelp
Awesome dinner here last night, we were the only group eating in and we had the whole restaurant to ourselves. The portions are a bit small for the price, but everything was delicious and there are quite a few dishes that you don't typically see at Indian restaurants.

Greg L.

Yelp
Came here for dinner after randomly walking past it while out for an aimless and meandering long walk. Had a super friendly waiter that offered some great dishes. We had the butter chicken and masala fries, both of which were awesome. The salmon curry and vegetable samosas were really good too, but I'll be back to try some of the other items on the menu.

Shweta K.

Yelp
Really bummed about this spot. Made a reservation for 8:30 pm (Resy had a bunch of tables open) and there was only one table inside with a party already seated. Waited over an hour and ultimately couldn't wait any longer so left.

Rebecca R.

Yelp
A really great spot. We had small bites and cocktails. Every small bite was delicious.

Kendall R.

Yelp
Had a really fun dinner here on Friday night and Kayshla's service was awesome. She's so fun and definitely gives great customer service and the food was excellent as always. We tried calling to make a reservation, but the phone number didn't work which is tricky because there's only one or two tables in the restaurant and this time they were all taken up by one party. I would definitely recommend getting that fixed so that there are no hiccups with reservations. The cauliflower appetizer was so good and then we had the lamb chops, chicken and goat and everything was super delicious. Garlic Naan was also really tasty.

TeaCake S.

Yelp
Very flavorful food without being overly spicy. Some of the best Indian food I've had in a while.
