RAS

"The view of the Scheldt River and the docks makes this restaurant's terrace one of the finest in Antwerp! Thanks to all the windows, the water feels omnipresent, even if you are seated inside. Charcoal sketches by Rinus Van de Velde lend an arty feel to the sleek interior. The extensive menu is dominated by traditional favourites. The fried sole is an obvious classic, but for something truly special, try the crispy veal sweetbreads in a brown stock and port sauce. The generous portions certainly go down well. And for those in a hurry, a quick lunch is always available, too." - Michelin Inspector

This restaurant offers a spectacular view of the city up some stairs and overlooking the river. This was my first night in Antwerp, and so I went for a reasonably traditional dish, but there were lots of other options on the menu. The muscles were fantastic. The wait staff was incredibly attentive, and the food was very good.

We celebrated our Grandma's 88th birthday here, with the lovely view over the River Scheldt, spotting the passing ships coming up and down the water. We elected both a starter course and a main one, and particularly the sweetbread and the entrecote we strongly recommend. The staff was really friendly, throwing in little jokes while serving the generous portions. Afterwards, because of the birthday, they brought in their own ice-cream, as a treat of the restaurant. Although RAS is quite expensive, I would definitely recommend it if you have something to celebrate :)

When I think of Antwerp, this place is the first that comes to mind. Highly recommended – fresh fish, great fries, and a lovely atmosphere.

Staff was very friendly, but maybe not all dressed for the type of restaurant they claim to be (understated chic). The starter (vitello tonnato with brioche) was really delicious. The accompanying bread was also very nice (they could offer a second serving). Too bad they couldn’t deliver the same quality further on. The main course (sea bass) was good but definitely nothing remarkable. The desserts however were the real disappointments. The mini dame blanche was not fresh, it was prepared (ice and decoration alike) earlier and placed in the freezer on the plate. The chocolate sauce was barely hot and came 10 minutes late. The RAS dessert was wholesale quality. I also missed some amuses with our aperitif. This should be included at this price point, in stead of some olives that were already on the table.

Really interesting menu in a lovely location overlooking the river. Enjoyed the cuckoo but the fish dish was a bit overcooked. Other dishes at our table looked very good. Nice and efficient staff. Easy parking.

Somewhat expensive place, rather due to the location, with great views on the river and the city, than the quality of the food. Not that it's bad, just not good enough to justify the cost. What seemed a bit strange to me is that couples where directed to the top floor, where larger parties were seated on the floor below.

Excellent food and location although the prices are very expensive. The table service of the male waiter sadly did not match the quality of the food although the young female waiter was excellent and very happy in her role. The cost of food and wine is high with bottle of mineral water at Euro12.80 which is ridiculous

Good food in a nice venue on the pier with a great view during the day. A bit deserted at night. We were a big party, but dishes were served quite simultaneously. Some dishes were better presented than others.

Yelp
We had an exceptional lunch at RAS. Gorgeous setting on the water, and next to Sint-Annatunnel which was interesting to see. Exceptional service and delicious food. I was surprised by the nice portion of my chicken, very filling and delicious! I highly recommend.

Yelp
Oh man this was some great food. We had a great bottle of wine. This restaurant looks over the river. Great upscale place to go and eat great food. Most of the food I brought from local farmers. Very nice romantic place to go. Or just a very cool place to go with anybody.

Yelp
Went for lunch at RAS. We had nice food, good portions and flavorful combinations. It is quite expensive, for example 16 euro for 2 shrimp croquettes, be it super tasty ones though... as main course the salad of the house with fried sole, prawns, gravlax and scallops was fresh and tasty, but cost 28 euro... the business lunch price is friendlier priced, 29€ for 2 courses, which looked nice (asparagus kataifi with poached egg and hollandaise - entrecote with red pepper relish) Strength of this place is the open view and nice decor. For dinner I could see this as a popular spot. Correct and friendly waiters.

Yelp
Delicious food with an amazing view. As a vegetarian myself there isn't a lot of choices but they do have this delicious quinoa salad which is totally worth going for. Great service and had a great afternoon.
