On the Grid : Ravi

"This is the first go-to place you’ll be pointed to from any hardcore Satwatian for a unique experience in D-town. Always crowded, especially on the weekends, Ravi will hit all the right spots for those on the lookout for authentic Pakistani and Northern Indian food. Low-key, simple and friendly, this is where you’d want to be on a late Friday night with friends satisfying your cravings with some yummy Paratha, Kebabs and Peshawari." - Mobius Studio

The 24 Best Dubai Restaurants | Eater

"Ravi has been serving Dhaba-style Pakistani food at low prices since the 1970s, but the place got a boost when Anthony Bourdain visited to film an episode of No Reservations in 2010. (It remains a point of pride that the restaurant was the only street food spot in the episode.) Dining here can sometimes feel chaotic, but the food is worth any hassle. The naan emerges hot and crispy from the clay oven, served with Peshawari mutton curry and lamb chops that are the best you’ll get in Dubai. Hang around for dessert; its kheer is the perfect way to end a meal at Ravi. [$]" - Rahma Khan

Tucked away in the bustling neighborhood of Satwa, Ravi Restaurant is a hidden gem that serves up some seriously delicious traditional Pakistani cuisine. This no-frills eatery might not win any interior design awards, but what it lacks in decor, it totally makes up for in flavor and authenticity. Walking in feels like stepping into a classic Pakistani dining spot - simple, unpretentious, and brimming with character. The real star here is definitely the food. Their Mutton Peshawari is an absolute knockout - tender meat that practically melts in your mouth, packed with rich, aromatic spices that'll transport you straight to the streets of Pakistan. The Lamb Chops are equally impressive, grilled to perfection with a smoky char that's simply irresistible. And let's talk about their Dal - creamy, comforting, and so flavorful it could easily be a meal on its own. What really elevates the experience is their freshly made roti, which comes out hot and perfectly soft, ideal for scooping up every last bit of those incredible sauces. The best part? This culinary journey won't break the bank. Ravi offers an incredibly affordable dining experience that makes authentic Pakistani cuisine accessible to everyone. The casual, welcoming atmosphere and consistently delicious food make Ravi Restaurant a must-visit spot for anyone craving genuine Pakistani flavors in Dubai. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you!

I was craving Pakistani food and heard this place is one of the best in Dubai so I had to check it out. The achari chicken is so tasty. The rogni naan is something I’ve never really tried before, it was very unique and super delicious! The naan with the achari chicken is the perfect combo. I couldn’t believe the taste of it, it’s something that stays on your mind long after you’ve finished eating. The service is also very good, they kept checking up on me and asking how I was going and if I liked the food. They also offered more naan. I like the uniform of the workers, the shirt is very eye catching. The restaurant is well-maintained and clean. I had a really good time and definitely will be back!

Amazing food, on point taste for what Pakistani cuisine should be. The portions were great, especially for the price. Will say that the space wasn’t very large and it wasn’t a fancy place by any means, the AC is held together with tape. But honestly that really added to the charm. It felt authentic because that’s how it would be in Pakistan. Really appreciated our server for bringing us an extra daal fry.

It is a famous, long-standing Pakistani restaurant in Dubai's Satwa district, serving authentic, affordable, and flavorful dishes like biryani, kebabs, and curries since 1978, making it a beloved local institution for over 45 years, known for its vibrant culture and great value. This conic restaurant, almost as old as UAE, is frequently featured by Time Out Dubai in the top dinning destinations. We had the Palak Makhni with Rogni Naan here.

Food Doesn’t Need Borders – Just Taste Buds Being from India, I never imagined my first Pakistani food experience would feel this warm and familiar. I visited Ravi Restaurant in Satwa and tried Nihari, mutton curry, and their freshly baked bread — and honestly, it was unforgettable. The flavors were bold, comforting, and full of love. The meat was cooked to perfection, the gravy was rich, and the bread was the perfect companion. I could taste the tradition in every bite. Despite the differences our countries may have, food reminds us that we’re more connected than we think. In the end, it’s not about flags or politics — it’s about sharing a meal and a moment. Ravi made me feel that connection. I’ll definitely be back again.

Ravi’s in Satwa is a legendary spot for authentic Pakistani food, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The place itself looks like it hasn’t changed in decades—completely old-school and almost from another era. But don’t let the appearance fool you—the food here is next level. It blows your mind and your taste buds. We tried the Chicken Achari and Mutton Peshawari, and both were phenomenal. The Chicken Achari had that distinct achar (pickle) flavor, but it was surprisingly subtle and well-balanced. The spice was just enough to add a kick without overpowering the dish. The Mutton Peshawari was the highlight—so tender and rich in flavor that it felt like it had been slow-cooked for hours. Truly delicious. All of this was enjoyed with their signature Pakistani roti—soft, hot, and perfect for scooping up every last bit of gravy. And we wrapped up the meal with a strong, comforting cup of chai. Ravi’s isn’t fancy or modern, but it delivers some of the best, most soulful Pakistani food you’ll find in Dubai. If you’re looking for bold flavors and a truly satisfying meal, this is the place. It was easily one of our food highlights of the trip.

I've been going to Ravi Restaurant in Satwa since the late 90s, and back then, the food was absolutely amazing bold, flavorful Pakistani classics that kept me coming back for years. Then, a few years ago, it seemed to slack off in quality, so I stopped going altogether. But recently, I've been visiting daily because it's as if the chefs have truly resurrected! The taste is back in full force rich, authentic, and just as soul-satisfying as those early days. Whether it's the tender mutton peshawari perfectly spiced curries, or fresh naan, everything hits the spot again. Welcome back to greatness, Ravi you've won me over once more! Highly recommended for anyone craving real, no-frills Pakistani food in Dubai.
