"The owners of Baltimore’s Gangster Vegan established a presence in D.C. last year with Rawish, a healthful raw food counter at Foggy Bottom’s new Western Market food hall. Besides snacks like ranch kale chips, try the “Energize” with dragonfruit, or the “Refresh” with pineapple, mint, apple, and blue spirulina." - Christine Blau, Adele Chapin, Missy Frederick, Stephanie Carter

"Rawish is a smoothie-centric stall located in Foggy Bottom’s new Western Market food hall, offering a completely vegan, soy-free, and mostly raw menu without any added sugars or artificial sweeteners. It operates from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The menu includes smoothies, smoothie bowls, toasts, salads, and rice bowls. The location is significant to the owners due to its proximity to George Washington University Hospital, where they sought healthful food options during treatment. Plans for expansion include a second location in Northeast D.C." - Adele Chapin

Acai bowl was so runny that I had to drink it instead of using a spoon. The flavor was good. But this was a disappointing experience overall. I came here for the avocado toast, but they were out of bread despite advertising toast as one of their main menu items. I came in the morning, so it's not like I tried to come in the afternoon or evening and they were out. Then I asked them and double-checked to make sure that everything else was available on the menu before I ordered. Then, after I had already paid for an acai bowl, they told me that an ingredient was also out for the acai bowl toppings. Service wasn't the best. Be sure to get here right when they first open to have the best experience, and expect that they might have stock issues

New to DC this is a great place to get healthy food, the service here is great. Smoothies, smoothie bowls, juices and other healthy solid food options. This place is pretty expensive, priced about the same as all restaurants of this type. About 1O$ per item. The presentation is great and it's one of the first restaurants open in the new western market. If the weather is nice you can eat your food right outside.

Enjoying the Toona Goddess Salad @ RAWISH were everything is better raw in NW DC. Really fresh juicy, filling & the sunflower seed toona is surprisingly lightly seasoned good which I definitely accept because the burst of heat from cucumbers & picked onions all mixes well perfectly! I put drops of the cashew sauce & cilantro on & the Goddess REIGNSSSSS!!!! TOTALLY FAMISHED & my body thanks me as my restoration of RawVegan from birth continues. This is how good should be yet the immunity & regeneration of our organs are in this & delicious! ILL BE BACK. GO DC

Google
I’ve been here several times and everything (including todays toast and green smoothie) have been delicious! My only wish is that they would be more staffed in the mornings to accommodate order ahead/DoorDash.

The smoothie fresh all-natural organic. They have pressed juice. Phenomenal service and RawISH choices.

Super delicious vegan food! I had mexi Buddha bowl, toona toast and peanut butter cream pie - all super good!! Customer service is exceptional too, it's family owned and ran.

Google
The acai bowl was so refreshing on a hot day. I like that it has a lot of oat to provide some crunch and texture compared to other acai bowls I've had in other places. the caramel sauce gives it a nice sweetness.

Fab restaurant located in the Western Market. Sister restaurant to Gangster Vegan. Same great serving and savory flavors.

Yelp
Invited to try their new menu, I didn't know what to expect. I am not a vegan connoisseur in any sense of the word, but I really wanted to branch out and try new foods. I'm glad I came here because I had a wonderful experience trying their creative and fun menu! One of the primary flavor profiles in their foods is dates--super sweet, delicious, and healthy! Caribbean Buddha Bowl: SPICY! But oh-so-good, especially the walnut "meat". My only complaint here is that there was a bit too much sauce for my liking since the bowl was a bit salty. The Ultimate: awesome smoothie to complement the buddha bowl! definitely a thirst quencher! Peanut Butter Cream: I am a huge dessert person and I gotta say, this was my favorite thing! I love the sunflower seed and date crust with the creamy vegan peanut butter. I will definitely come back here again to try the rest of the menu!

Yelp
I was recently invited to try a couple items of my choosing at RAWISH! Located inside western market (right by GW), this is a great spot for smoothie bowls, juices and smoothies. I ordered the Pitaya bowl, which was packed with Pitaya and granola, and topped with super fresh strawberries and bananas. Loved every bite. I also got the restore juice which reminded me a bit like Sunny-D but a much healthier and tastier version. And lastly, I tried the chocolate date balls. These are really good right before a workout or as a snack.

Yelp
I welcome the surprise of trying healthy food and it actually taste good. I. Welcome. It. So when I'd heard enough good things, I decided to give them a shot. Found just a short walk from Foggy Bottom or Farragut West Metro in the newish Western Market Foodhall, Rawish easily stands out among its peers offering options stacked with superfoods. They've got meals, smoothies and snackish items for instance. First time Friday and was pleasantly overwhelmed reading the menu ingredients: acai, activated charcoal, ashwagandha, avocado, ACV (apple cider vinegar)... That's just a handful of the A's so put down the kettlebell and pick up what I'm putting down. Maybe start with the Paradise Spice Smoothie Bowl? Decided on this aiming for something lighter before having dinner later and noted there were plenty of ingredients I don't get enough of in my diet. The first spoonful though? Grinning ear to ear with that tart pineapple/orange juice combo and a bite from ginger that's cut with the subtly sweet mango. Oh, and it's flavor topped with granola, hemp seeds and blueberries. The bowl's textures, too, made this very enjoyable to eat. Ordering is easy with convenient food court style walk-up or via delivery like Postmates. Business was steady but didn't notice things taking long whatsoever. Hours appear to be M-F 9AM -7PM, Sat/Sun 11AM-6PM currently. I did find earlier (and later) hours depending on where you look. YMMV Look, I'm always down to eat something that's good for you and it not be another salad. But if you're craving one of those, you bet Rawish has got you.

Yelp
YESY YES YES AND MORE YES! This place has some of the most amazing smoothies I've ever had in my LIFE! The owner is a star (pictured in the white shirt and blue jeans). She took care of us and made sure we had a great experience. I will be a regular customer here.

Yelp
Recently started a health journey and after searching some spots I was excited to try Rawish. The place is located near GWU and had nice casual vibes of a modern food court. Came during lunch on a holiday. The line was wrapped around so I was excited, but slowly people dropped from the line due to the extensive wait since only one person was working. Yea only one person during a busy lunch hour. But I was determined to stay and give this place a shot. Finally after 27 minutes in line I placed my order only to be told 4 of the items I desired to try (cold press juices and dessert) was unavailable! What a total drag...anyway I got the Caribbean Buddha Bowl without brown rice. Bowl was made with fresh cut ingredients. Mushrooms were well marinated and flavorful. The salad was drowned in dressing, but thankfully the dressing wasn't terrible...still wayyyy too much dressing. I left full, but I won't be making a special trip to revisit.

Yelp
This place totally changed my mind on Avo Toast. So apparently there's a new food hall in Foggy Bottom. It's a collection of nice dining options with over the counter service. This is home to RAWish, which is a place to get good food. Ok let's start with this: what's your take on avocado toast? Never get it because it's an overpriced appetizer with incomplete nutrition? Then you're like me. But RAWish completely blew me away with their avocado toast. It was totally different. First off, the size. It was massive: a giant slice of sourdough with mounds of avocado. On top of that was the walnut meat with a delicious smoky southwesterny cream sauce that tied all the flavors together. Thanks to the walnuts it was a more complete meal with protein. And on top of all that it tasted absolutely great. I'd absolutely come back for that alone. But the smoothie bowls were great too. I had one that was loaded with tropical fruit (my fave) and had ginger + turmeric, a nod to the restaurant's commitment to positive health. Making it all better, the staff and owner were just absolutely sweet. From what I've read the concept for RAWish was born out of a rather harrowing health struggle, so good for them for not only using food as medicine but also embarking to bring this good food to people too!

Yelp
Have had a couple smoothies and smoothie bowls from here, and all were tasty! The ingredients really stand out, rather than loosing their individual flavors when all mixed together. The fruit has been consistently fresh and the granola keeps its crunch even when mixed in. Portions are generous--a smoothie bowl can easily be lunch! Or, if you're not feeling like the entire thing for lunch, it will keep well in the refrigerator for a bit.

Yelp
This restaurant is vegan choice and we had breakfast there so delicious. I had a smoothie in my life had a smoothie Bowl. The lady that took our order was very helpful and patient. We are on vacation so we're in a big hurry but this was our first time ordering so the server took time with us and was very kind. I felt like my meal was very healthy and when I told her that I was diabetic she took time to help me pick out some low sugar options. I will be back and try this restaurant again on my next visit to DC.

Yelp
i absolutely loved my acai superberry bowl -- the consistency was a perfect (nice and thick, not watery at all), the granola was delicious, and the base + fruit were so fresh! only reason i'm bumping it down to 4 stars is because it took ~20-30 mins to get my order, which is quite long for an acai bowl. that being said, there were a lot of people and only one person working. so if you want something quick, try to avoid the business of regular meal times! i still want to come back for their buddha bowls and other smoothie bowls :)

Kopal B.

Yelp
Great experience! The smoothies are delicious and José provided excellent customer service! He provides a personalized experience and ensures that you are 100% satisfied with your smoothie. He even re-opened after closing the store for the day to make me a smoothie as I arrived shortly after closing time. Would definitely recommend the Choco-Heaven smoothie!

Stella M.

Yelp
Supercharged Greens Smoothie Love their stuff but they never fully blend the smoothies and I'm paying around 9 bucks for it! There are also strings of some fruit that is unpleasant. Disappointed.

Yelp
Could not finish my food because of how ridiculously sweet it was--and I have no idea where the overwhelming sickly sweetness was coming from (certainly, it was not from the ingredients listed). It is hard to mess up a smoothie or a smoothie bowl, as the ingredients typically are delicious in and of themselves. However, this place achieved the impossible by adding a ridiculous amount of some sort of sweetener to both the smoothie and the bowl that I had. Look, if you're a place catering mostly to vegans and vegetarians--which this place is--you should know that most of us are health-conscious and actually love the taste of fresh fruit and vegetables. You don't have to smother everything in unidentifiable sweet syrups and sugar. I had the ultimate smoothie and the paradis spice smoothie bowl and I honestly could not eat them: had to throw more than half of my food--because of how awfully sweet and, therefore, obviously unhealthy both items were. Oh and you should really stock up on napkins. I was given my items with just a spoon and a straw. When I asked for a napkin, I was told they did not have any. When I saw that that they had individually wrapped utensils containing a napkin, fork and knife, I asked for one, but was told that I could not have it since all I needed was a spoon(!!!). Of course, I insisted, and was finally allowed to have one. Judge for yourself.

Yelp
As a fan of Gangsta Vegan, I was happy to finally try RAWISH. My first visit I had wait 25 minutes (during the lunch rush) because there's only one worker there so I didn't give them a hard time. I mean sis was doing the best she could under the circumstances. Well, I went after work today around 5:35 and after a ten wait, I left. No line, so I thought cool. I'll be in and out. There's usually a bell for assistance but I noticed it was missing. I'm not sure what's going on but waiting for a long period of time for something that takes 5 minutes to make is annoying as hell. I really want this place to succeed and I hope the owners read these comments and address the wait times.

Ashley R.

Yelp
The place is my guilty pleasure for raw vegan food. I love their smoothie bowls, when I'm having a difficult day at work I ordered one of the bowls on a delivery app. It always comes at a perfect temp (never too melted) ready to eat. The salad bowls are just right amount of food so I don't feel like I'm being wasteful and throwing food away. They always have a mix of wonderful flavors that on paper one would not think may not get along but they do. I would totally recommend even if you can't get down there, if you're within range to get a delivered, get it delivered!!!!

Mykhailo S I.

Yelp
I was able to digest the meal and smoothies with my dear friend Aaron. He is delighted by the dish and smiles at me back LOL. however, I have been able to have a nice conversation with the host/barista, as she made me laugh and gave a great suggestion for the pick. Supercharged freedom was delivered on a counter fast and juicy: very fresh and light, with great consistency and value. I feel remarkable and my stomach feel like I am ready for an adventure. Clean and sade space, with a planty light. Thank you.

Karla A.

Yelp
I couldn't decide on what to get and the cashier was very friendly, they recommended the supercharged greens. It was delicious! Side note, I'm not vegan but the bowls and smoothies all look so good!

Sonya S.

Yelp
I always love a good cold pressed juice and Rawish never lets me down! I always receive the best service when I stop by.

Jessica P.

Yelp
Sadly one of our bowls was so watery we couldn't eat it and the other wise fine but too sweet even after removing the added agave. Had higher hopes.

Conner B.

Yelp
Food is fine but customer service is horrible. I waited over 25 minutes for a smoothie bowl and the lady at the counter was just sitting on her phone and put in the minimum amount of effort when talking to customers. Actively talking on the phone while taking orders. Avoid this place if you're looking for a quick lunch or friendly and helpful employees.

Kartik B.

Yelp
LOVE this new Smoothie/Bowl/Toast/Juice spot - we've had so many items on the menu and love every single one! The Acai Superberry Smoothie Bowl will definitely be my go-to, Choc-Heaven is literally dessert in a smoothie, Juices are so true to the ingredients, and you can't go wrong with the Toasts and Buddha Bowls! So happy we have this new vegan spot in the neighborhood!

Meggo O.

Yelp
The acai bowl was so refreshing on a hot day. I like that it has a lot of oat to provide some crunch and texture compared to other acai bowls I've had in other places. the caramel sauce gives it a nice sweetness.

Christine K.

Yelp
Worst service ever. Never got to try the food. Stood there waiting, and being ignored for 20 minutes, and then the person working the kiosk said it was closed, and just left without cleaning up or securing anything.

M W.

Yelp
Delish! We love Gangster Vegan and wanted to try their new spot. I had the tuna and the Ultimate smoothie, both were delicious, nutritious, and satisfying

Brandon P.

Yelp
There was only one worker at the location. She didn't seem happy to be there. She answered my question with a shrugging of the shoulders. Terrible customer service. The smoothie was good though

Abby L.

Yelp
Friendly people! One of the best Açaí Bowls I've ever had. Nice flavor. Portion sizes are nice. I'm a fan!

Rachel S.

Yelp
Great new vegan spot inside the Western Market! We tried the Nutty Caramel toast, Caribbean Buddha Bowl, Wake Me Up Smoothie, & Acai Superberry bowl. Everything was fresh and delicious!

Alex Z.

Yelp
Unbelievably horrible place. I've never felt the need to rate a place less than 3 stars until now. I had just finished visiting the Lincoln Memorial and wanted a quick bite before my flight. I ordered an açaí bowl online and went in person to pick it up when I was met with an empty store. I stood around for 10 minutes, occasionally ringing the front bell, before I decided to leave without my food. It was only on my way out to that I was finally handed my food.

Charles B.

Yelp
The food, the food, the food. I've tried everything on the menu and the taste, attention to detail and service have been great every time. I love the flavor and texture choices they have made and that they make providing fresh, flavorful and healthy food look so easy.

Erin K.

Yelp
Great food. Slow service. They never have more than one person working and you can stand at the front for 10 mins before anyone even notices you're there.

Eloise B.

Yelp
shit. took 45 minutes for a smoothie that tasted like the smell of a barn. would give 0 stars if i could
