"The best breakfasts in town come courtesy of two polar opposites. Ray Ray’s at the Mayflower, a casual, hole-in-the-wall joint, serves eclectic standouts like ube pancakes, made with Filipino yams and topped with homemade condensed milk, and lox and arepas."

The servers seemed hurried but we're generally nice. The food was not up to standards. My grits were cold and they forgot my hash browns until the end of my meal. The scrambled eggs tasted like powdered eggs and were undercooked. The order my son in law had was burnt but edible. My husband's biscuits and gravy were cold and he said gravy tasted like the packet gravy, not homemade. My granddaughter thought her pancakes tasted weird. This breakfast trip was not a very good choice. Sorry but when you pay $100 for 2 children and 4 adults, for that price it should be a lot better. The atmosphere inside was not that great either with tables close together, electric wires running where you could see and your sitting next to an ice machine that they are getting buckets of ice out of that's very loud.

Great pinoy type dishes, all the meats were delicious and the plates were plentiful. It all came out quickly and very tasty all around. Coffee was good as well.

Absolutely amazing! I can't say enough about the longganisa here—it's truly out of this world! I kept raving about it to my husband, who was a bit skeptical at first. But once he took a bite, he was blown away and declared, "That's delicious!" This was his first experience with longganisa, and he loved it! I've had longganisa before in the Philippines and Guam, but the version they serve here is on a whole different level. They craft it in-house, and somehow it comes out looking like a perfectly shaped sausage patty. Honestly, I could eat this every single day! And let's not forget the lumpia—hands down the best I've ever had. If a genie granted me three wishes, one of them would definitely be to have this restaurant wherever we go! The only downside was the alcoholic beverage we ordered; it didn’t quite hit the mark. But that won’t stop me from coming back for the incredible food!

We've been coming to Virginia Beach for family vacations for about 8 years now and always stay in the same area. Some of the locals recommended this to me and my kids, so we decided to try it for lunch. The staff seemed friendly enough, and the atmosphere was nice when we walked in. A cozy dinner feel. We were unfortunately disappointed with the food. I ordered adobo chicken. It seemed to be overcooked, hard to cut and dry. The rice didn't look or taste fresh. My younger son wanted nuggets and fries, which seemed simple enough. When they arrived, I took a bite before he did, and the inside was completely raw. These appeared to be real chicken, not ground chicken like the grocery store. Our server apologized and took it back, and brought a new plate (I like to think this was a new plate anyway) with fewer nuggets that appeared to be fully cooked, but we were all completely turned off at this point. I feel queasy just typing about it after tasting raw chicken. We weren't offered a comped dish or meal. I guess I could have asked, but I was just grossed out and ready to leave. I'm hoping I don't feel sick later this evening. Sadly, I won't return during our future vacations!

Probably my most favorite breakfast I've eaten this week.. I had the Avacado toast. It was the best Avacado toast I ever had . The eggs were hard boiled and the dressing pulled it all together. I was hesitant at first but curious .. im so glad I tried it. Every item we ordered was delicious. We were Very happy customers

Needed a quick breakfast and stopped here on a whim. Server took a bit to get to me, but was polite and friendly. The food was excellent and so was the hot sauce. I got the Pahk Attack. Very good!

Wife's cooworker recommended this place to us.. Glad we went and tried it!! Very wholesome food with reasonably priced entrees with a gret serving size!! Got the No Way Ray Ray.. Flavor of the fried chicken was so good and complimented the gravy and drizzle so well with the biscuit.. Wife got the lechon pork belly.. the sauce had a unique smokiness that i couldnt pin point but the lechon came out really tender and flavorful.. Got the ube pancakes as well.. cooked very well with the crispy edges and soft fluffy center.. Had to try the Ube Mimosa.. reminded me of a Halo Halo but as a mimosa.. i would get it again or even try the mimosa flight.. Highly recommend for anyone with an adventurous palate!!

I had the Avocado Toast, and hubby had the Aloha! Very tasty with a Hawaiian twist. Located between Atlantic and Pacific, so a great location with the ocean right across the street. Atmosphere is vibing.

Yelp
This is a nice spot for breakfast with a Filipino flair. I've been coming to VA Beach for years, and I just recently discovered it. Be prepared for a wait on weekends, as it does get busy, and the restaurant itself is small with limited seating. The staff is friendly and accommodating. I ordered the No Way Ray Ray, while others in my group tried the Lechon Pork Belly and the Ube Waffle. The No Way Ray Ray was unique--fried chicken on two biscuits, topped with Longganisa gravy and other ingredients. Personally, I found the gravy to be one-note and didn't add much besides moisture, but the sriracha drizzle helped. The Lechon Pork Belly was tasty, though the portion size could be improved. I love anything Ube, so I was excited to see they offered both pancakes and waffles. The waffle was good, though the strawberries were on the sour side. The prices are a bit high for a stack of Ube pancakes or waffles, but they're worth trying. We waited about 25-30 minutes for our food, which makes sense given the likely small kitchen. The atmosphere is lively, with tables close together, it can get loud, but it's a great place to catch up over a satisfying brunch.

Yelp
My family and I have been looking forward to watching at RR for the past couple times we've visited VA Beach but due to circumstances, they weren't open when we visited. First initial thoughts: we love the vibe of this small little restaurant. But because of the size, seating area definitely felt tight. Our server let us know right from beginning that there would be a wait on food due to shortage of staff. I'm all for waiting for my meals as long as I know they're worth it. And working in the restaurant industry, I always prefer quality of food over quickness of getting out. So waiting didn't affect us too much. I appreciate the choices of Hawaiian and Filipino options. After downing our meals, I would say that the meals were good, but nothing that hit out of the park. Good enough for us to visit again and try other dishes to give them a shot.

Yelp
Sophia and I stopped here at this Virginia Beach location out on the Oceanfront for breakfast. They've been here quite a while and are popular for their Filipino and Hawaiian dishes. It's small, but was very busy as we saw once we walked in. Luckily, we snagged a table just when they were nearly packed. It was quite loud, but it's Memorial Day weekend so you know they were gonna attract a crowd but inside and out. And they have a bar once you walk inside the building. After a few minutes of looking through the menu (and having some coffee for myself), we were ready to order. Both of us ordered the No Way Ray Ray, which is their take on biscuits and gravy. They are topped with fried chicken (a boneless thigh), Longganisa gravy, eggs (I picked scrambled), cheddar jack cheese, green onions and a sriracha drizzle (Sophia had hers with hard fried eggs and no sriracha drizzle). I'll be honest here. I didn't imagine it would come with brown gravy, which tasted a little sweet. And the fried chicken was coated in cornmeal instead of the usual all-purpose flour. But after a few bites, I gave it thumbs up. All the ingredients ended up coming together with each bite. And everything was cooked very well. To have the sriracha bring somrme heat was a nice touch. Not overpowering at all. This right here was worth coming to. You know you've run into a hidden gem when you see a crowd like we did. Even the owner Ray Ray stopped by to check in on us. Huge plus in my book. We'll definitely be back :)

Yelp
I really enjoyed our time at Ray Ray's. We went on a Sunday morning which, of course, is a busy time. We were able to get seated outside in no time. Although, we did wait about 10 minutes to get our order taken. But fair enough, they are understaffed and need more hands to help! So if you're looking for a job... definitely hit them up. :) We kept our order pretty simple since we didn't come starving. My brother order the avocado toast which was loaded!!!! Packed with so many things that filled up his belly. He said it was really good. I got the ube pancakes to share with my daughter... who ended up not even eating it and only ate the fries. lol. The ube pancakes were moist. I loved how there was coconut flakes on top to add some texture in every bite! The POG mimosa is absolutely delicious. I recommend that! My brother got the Ray Ray's Signature... with ube... but he didn't like it because it was too powdery. The guests eating behind us also didn't like their ube drink because it was too powdery. I hope to see Ray Ray invest in a different way to add in the ube flavor to drinks... I know nothing about the supplies but if there is a liquid form of the ube flavor... that's probably the solution here. But truly, who am I to say? I literally know nothing about the availability of restaurant supplies and budgets. lol. Overall, I'd come back!!!! Next time, I'll come more hungry so that I can get myself a savory Pinoy-Hawaiian dish.

Yelp
A weekend trip to Virginia beach and came across this brunch place. They have alot of options on their menu. Greeted upon entrance, the tables looked all occupied. I went during easter weekend when it was busy but managed to get seated at a table. It was a bit noisy in the restaurant cause of family and big groups. I ordered the ube spam and eggs sliders and the ube waffles. The sliders was good. I didnt expect the sliders to be full sandwich size. One is more then I can eat! haha. I would say they give you plenty of eggs in the sliders but I love eggs. The ube breading was not as I expected didnt have much flavor to it besides a bun. The ube waffle was different but was good. I thought it would come out a little crispy but it is soft and moist. Next time am around the area am going to try there other food on the menu.

Yelp
We returned to Ray Rays as a must revisit for breakfast after our great experience last year. Last year we ordered way too much food, and tried to limit it a bit more. Our server was charming and helpful with the ordering process. My husband ordered the Western omelet, link sausage ( after being disappointed that the Filipino sausage was not available) two lumpia and 1 ube pancake. I ordered the pork belly with rice and gravy and two eggs over easy. Everything was delicious and the portions are very generous. It has a laid back island vibe and close walking from our hotel.

Lydia B.

Yelp
This experience is delightful. We came because it was a recommendation and because it was my daughter's birthday. So we reserved seats for 7 people. We have to wait but we had fun taking pictures outside and it was good weather till we were called in. They do have outside seats but we opted for inside sitting and we were seated right away and met by the owner Ray. That was a star for me. The place was clean and seating were well placed. They have a well stocked bar in the front. The waitress was a bright smiling young lady who is knowledgeable of what she is doing and offering. Our orders were taken and delivered fast. Now let's talk about the food. Wow! I'm very impressed. I love it all. The pork belly was so good. Every each one of them. The ube pancake not so sweet, just right. The ube sliders were so satisfying in my stomach and with 3 of them, I was so happy to share to let them have the experience too. All their food was so good. And the cutest thing is they have a carousel of difference sauces by "you got it!" Ray brand. Their menu were well chosen and given cute names. Btw, the restroom is part of the Hotel but is exclusive for Ray ray's at The Mayflower and it is clean. Definitely had fun and enjoyed all the food. Definitely coming back.

Yelp
First time here and the service was great. I loved almost everything I saw in the menu. Lots of Asian comfort foods. Mostly Philippine/Hawaiian, but things like the rice, Spam and pork belly always hits home for me. Only complaint was portion size, being Asian I am just use to seeing larger portions of anything given to us at home. That said, it was still tasty. Our server was the owners son and he was super friendly and sweet. At the end of the meal, he even gave our table one of his Aunt's ube cookies she made....so good!

Yelp
Ray Ray's has been around for awhile and I'm kind of surprised I haven't made my way out here sooner. A Filipino inspired brunch cuisine is an awesome idea as Filipinos are known to have hearty and savory breakfasts. It is located at the Oceanfront in Va. Beach inside the Mayflower Apartments. Just beware that parking is scarce and hard to find so plan accordingly. It's just the nature of the Oceanfront unfortunately. The interior is kind of cramped and not the best for huge groups. The bathroom is also a ways away as you have to go inside the apartment complex which kind of has a weird smell. That's out of their control though. Anyways, we ordered the No Way Ray Rays and the Longanisa platter with a side of corned beef hash. The No Way Ray Ray had a five spiced seasoned chicken piece on biscuits with longanisa gravy and eggs. Boy oh boy did it hit the spot! The longanisa gravy was super flavorful and the eggs put a nice touch on it. The longanisa platter was pretty good as well but I prefer a classic longanisa sausage in my humble opinion. The corned beef hash was cooked and seasoned well with no complaints! I would genuinely say it's a hole in the wall place as the food is delicious! I would definitely recommend Ray Rays and we will come back to try other things on the menu!

Marlon T.

Yelp
Uncle Ray Ray brings the business. This popular joint serves some of the best comfort meals in VA beach, hands down. Everything on the menu is amazing so you will indeed have a hard time deciding what to order! Service is impeccable and the atmosphere is bright. I love their Filipino menu, and if you like ube, they got a ton of purple greatness to satisfy your hunger and your social media. They have homemade hot sauces, including an ube purple yam one. Don't miss out on the Ube Pancakes!

B L T.

Yelp
Failure. They don't keep there promises. Employees are on there phones and not taking care of the customers. We were lied at and we just left and hopefully Ray Ray will re-energize this once promising establishment...

Sandra C.

Yelp
Food was below average. Don't let the reviews fool you. I ordered the ube pancake and couldn't really taste the ube in them. Seemed more like just purple food coloring than ube flavor. My husband had the pulled pork Benedict. My first impression was the sizing of his meal. Proportions were very small. The pulled pork has extremely salty and the hash browns were very well done almost hard/burnt. The service was okay, minimal interaction. I wouldn't recommend or go back.

Rose M.

Yelp
Food was good. Service could be improved; however, we were there on Father's Day. We had to ask for coffee twice ... once at ordering and then after 10 min of waiting, we flagged down a worker. Ambiance was simple, very busy, but again it was Father's Day.

David M.

Yelp
If Guy Fieri thought Beach Pub was good, he needs to come back to VaBeach and try Ray Ray's. This place is so great. It has a fantastic vibe and locals seem to love it. We got the Pahk plate, Ube pancakes, pork belly and No Way Ray Ray, and they were all great. The lumpia fell a tiny bit short for us, as we are partial to lumpia with ground beef. But otherwise, nothing but good things to say. The pork belly was the single best thing on our table. Ray also has his own line of hot sauce!! My favorite was the Chesapeake, but try all 6!!!

Will W.

Yelp
Saw somewhat of a crowd coming and going into Rays so we thought we'd give it a shot for lunch. Boy, we were very pleasantly surprised. The best way to describe the breakfast/lunch menu is American standard with a Filipino flair. I ordered the Longganisa Plate. Couple eggs cooked perfectly and a large sausage patty that was somewhat sweet - definitely different. Wife ordered the western omelet. Instead of diced ham, the omelet had a mildly spicy sausage - chorizo perhaps. Both plates were excellent. Place was crowded but service was good. We'll definitely go back.

Kimmy E.

Yelp
I ordered delivery, and I am taking that into consideration; however, my complaints were strictly the food - overall it was bland and not appetizing. I spent over $50 for eggs and lechon with rice and gravy, also two apps of parm tomatoes and lumpia. ALL items were flavorless and the lumpia should never be called lumpia - it was like a Chinese egg roll (the flavors and ingredients were not authentic. I really wished it would have been even kinda good enough for me to go and try it in person, but because of the cost and disappointing experience, I don't think I will be.

Fred K.

Yelp
We were craving something different then your standard hotel breakfast food/buffet and this place delivers! Sure reminded me of the local mom and pop places in Hawaii. One note though- it's missing Mac salad! Please add this : It's across the street from all of the Hilton hotels and Grand Vacation buildings. Short walk from Hilton VA Oceanfront. The pork belly breakfast was huge. So crispy and tasty and they give you lots too. My Portuguese sausage with eggs plate surely hit the spot too. Server was so friendly and we really liked this place, but I knocked one star as their AC wasn't working. Highly recommend this place for breakfast and lunch.

Christine T.

Yelp
Parking is horrible because it's expensive. Food is ok. Not so authentic Filipino food but it's ok.

DeAnna E.

Yelp
A year ago I went to Ray Ray's for breakfast and it was epic!!! Great food and the bartender was helpful. Took my husband there this year (2024) and it was not what I remembered. The food was good but not epic. The waitress didn't really help us with the menu nor suggest something other than the normal breakfast food. We left unimpressed and my husband was confused why I liked the restaurant the previous year. My suggestion is to branch out away from the normal eggs and bacon if you go. Try something different and hopefully you will be impressed as I was the first time I went to Ray Ray's.

Eddie K.

Yelp
I enjoyed our breakfast at Ray Ray's. Our waitress was so nice and made us feel very welcomed. My brother kept telling me this is like breakfast in Hawaii. It's a very diverse menu with Filipino, Hawaiian and American food. So, I ordered the most Hawaiian dish, the Loco Moco. It was pretty good but wish the patty had more seasoning - something that a little salt and pepper fixed though! I definitely recommend their lumpia - it was so good. My wife really enjoyed the Lechon Pork Belly - it is a huge portion. We'll be back the next time we come back to VA Beach!

Lyn E.

Yelp
We've come here from Vegas repeatedly over the years, but this week, I truly don't know what's happening. My husband and I went the first day here ordered my ube drink it was fabulous food so so over easy eggs not so easy toast burnt. Second time we came, we had a party of 6, only one waitress for the whole restaurant. Should have left. Everyone's order was wrong my favorite ube drink not only looked different but tasted different. Waitress was frantic chicken and waffles was A waffle and A chicken! Lechon burnt what is happening here!! Today my husband and son went..we are wondering wtf!!

Party J.

Yelp
Pahking A!! This has been on our list for a while and we finally made a visit. Food was delicious and we briefly met the owner. Waitress was friendly and nice. Pahk yea we will be back Salamat po!

Maria C.

Yelp
I wanted to love this place because the reviews were inviting. We visited during the week back in May 2022. It was pretty hot when we entered, not sure if the air condition was out or if that's how they roll with no AC. I ordered my cocktail. It was good. My babe wanted crown royal and coke... no crown royal - super bummed. Well because we both couldn't drink and be happy, after my one drink, we decided to dine elsewhere. I did not get to try the food but I will one day. Have fun and enjoy life :)

Kay D.

Yelp
A new brunch favorite of ours. This was our second time visiting the restaurant. The first time, we checked the hours, saw it closed at two and got to the restaurant before 1. Hostess looked around and told us unfortunately the restaurant is closed. It's frustrating considering we drove all the way out here just to try it and had already paid for parking. But I'm glad we went again. Once we were able to visit everything was great. The waiter we had was phenomenal. I was a little hesitant seeing the pics of the longanisa since I've never had it as a pattie before but it was phenomenal. Paired with rice and gravy. wish it was garlic rice but didn't matter. I ordered a single ube pancake too topped with coconut. I ordered the ube horchata and that was so delicious but I finished in a couple sips. We will definitely be back.

Dave J.

Yelp
Great service, delicious food, and good beach ambiance! Had the Moko Loco and it was fantastic! Definitely going again.

Devonne C.

Yelp
Just what I needed for breakfast. I was in the biggest mood for a classic Filipino spam, egg and garlic friend rice dish. ray Ray's doesn't disappoint, and I really enjoyed the assortment of hot sauces!

Amanda S.

Yelp
Absolutely a 5 star restaurant!!! The food here was so delicious I ate it so quickly and I ate it all! I usually never do that. It's such a fun place and environment. Staff members were friendly. Although we came right after the shamrock race (we completely forgot) and it was super busy, every still came out at a decent time. I highly recommend this place to anyone. There's something for everyone but please try those ube pancakes!!!!

Talia B.

Yelp
Being from Hawaii and visiting Virginia Beach my family and I were stoked to get some Filipino food! We got there and told it was a 20 minute wait, we ended up waiting an hour to sit down! Once we ordered the food it probably took about 30 minutes! When you get Ube pancakes in Hawaii their usually so amazing these were so disappointing - they were like little burnt chips! Compared to all of the other pictures on this app ours did not look like that! (Maybe they were in a rush?) The lumpia was pretty good - the sauce was definitely different! Seems like maybe the chef didn't care? They were busy but not super slammed there were still open tables. Also a weird vibe in there!

Alison M.

Yelp
Ray Ray's! Finally, after like three years on my try it list! So good! Ample street, meter and parking garage parking all around. I saw lots of delicious items on the menu here like omelettes, ube pancakes, and Benedict's as well as regional Filipino foods. We went with the Veggie Benedict and Chicken Pancit this time and both were SO good. The Benedict was two perfectly poached eggs over seared spinach, with Parmesan tomatoes and biscuits with hollandaise sauce. I chose grits with butter as my side and was served a delicious huge bowl of grits perfectly cooked. The pancit was delicious as well. Fresh and light with perfectly cooked and lean sliced chicken breast on top. Yum! Portion was huge so we took leftovers and have eaten it twice since! Haha. I wanna come back for some ube pancakes but the eggs on my Benny were so good I might get it every time I come! Very friendly service and food was out quickly! Great first impression. My fiancée loved it and plans to bring friends next time they come to town.

Karyl H.

Yelp
This place was so good! It's a Filipino American spot located at the oceanfront. Parking is located in the back of the Mayflower building (we made the mistake of parking across the street & ended up paying, rookie mistake lol). Its a small spot but the staff is very warm, and friendly. Also, the food was amazing. I ordered the No Way Ray, its chicken thighs on biscuits, with longanisa gravy - no regrets. But the show stopper was the ube pancakes with coconut flakes & condensed milk as the syrup, chefs kiss! The portions and price were both great. I will definitely be coming back to try more. Also, they have homemade sauces, the mermaid sauce was my favorite!

Don F.

Yelp
If you like tasty food, served, courteous and friendly staff, and like me, you're always looking for something on the exotic side, I have two words for you. Go Here And, for goodness sake, stretch you palate muscles and order one of the Filipino dishes. Scrumptious! Don't forget to try Ray Ray's signature hot sauces.

Billy J.

Yelp
Very good breakfast spot. Food was great and service was too. Reasonably priced. Would go again.

Anne F.

Yelp
Realizing that I never left reviews for some of my favorite places in VB. Ray Ray's was within walking distance of my old house and was always a treat to visit. During the pandemic they were a take out favorite. From Filipino favorites to brunch cravings. Everyone was always so friendly and I enjoyed every visit so much. It will be high on my list to return to when I'm back in the area.

Karen Y.

Yelp
Located right off the Boardwalk, Ray Ray's is one of the best places to visit for breakfast/brunch. They open from 8AM-2PM! We were craving Filipino food and found this place to be only a 10 min walk from our hotel. They have a mix of traditional American fair like country fried steak but also different Filipino dishes such as lechon (I think this is only offered on the weekends), lumpia, longgansia, and more! We ordered the lechon special and the longgansia platter which both meals came with 2 eggs and a DELICIOUS gravy over rice.'I have no idea what's in the gravy but it's so freaking good. They even have a few Hawaiian options like Kalua Pork and Loco Moco which I hope to try the next time in the area. Either way this place is amazing and I highly recommend stopping by!

Christine O.

Yelp
Great find!! We ventured from the norm and tried Something different from the normal breakfast! No regrets! We will definitely be back!

Jester J.

Yelp
Convenient breakfast place towards the north end of the oceanfront, very walkable. Cool little lower level place just below the mayflower building. Plenty of seating. Stay isn't bad and pretty quick. Some great breakfast specials

Rachelle O.

Yelp
Food is amazing! Hubby got the ube spam sandwich and it was humongous and very filling! I got the longganisa and it hit the spot! The kids ordered cereal. They were out of milk but the manager ran out to the store and got some, which was definitely appreciated!

Justin R.

Yelp
I love this place. I have enjoyed it every meal I have had here. Not a huge place and when busy can be a bit loud but drinks and food are stupendous. I am particularly a huge fan of the longganisa.

Roberto Jerome L.

Yelp
Uncle RayRay is the man, always on site chilling and talking to everyone. Solid menu, great service, chill vibe. Don't forget the check what's on special, but the loco moco is legit. Solid go to is the pancit and ube pancakes. May not be super traditional, but you are in VA not the PI. A must do when your in VA beach area.

Trish E.

Yelp
Grrr. . . I wanted to like this place because of the reviews, but it was alright. After the sweet hostess sat us down, we waited a long time for our server. A long time - so long that she actually never came and we had to flag down a different server who was willing to help us. I ordered the Avocado Toast, my bf ordered the Sumter- your classic eggs, toast and sausage breakfast. Anyhow, his two sausage links came burned to a crisp. We had to send them back and get new ones. Plus, the orange juice tasted off. It was not fresh squeezed - and that's ok, but it had a weird aftertaste to it. My Avocado toast was good, until I was almost done and I saw a hair in it. Bleh. I stopped eating after that. So overall, ehh. . Not the best experience.

Wilbur R.

Yelp
Food was outstanding!! One of the better places at the oceanfront in my opinion. Received food at a decent time with awesome service even though my forever date and I chose to seat at the bar. The bartender gave us honest opinions on what to order and we were not let down. It was def difficult to choose which to indulge in because of the amazing food choices. I will say that if you plan on eating here, expect a long wait you less you get here early enough. Hoping some time soon they can move into a bigger place for more seating. The restaurant itself deserves an upgrade because of the amount of people that love this place. Let the location and restaurant reflect the food itself.

S I.

Yelp
Ambience. Music was guys yelling. I like rock but the "music" they played was loud and annoying. Maybe they are trying to attract young teens? Service. Service was disappointingly bad. Our waitress, Erin, seemed more interested in serving other patrons than she did dealing with us. We never got the water we asked for. She didn't check on us while we were eating, and we had to chase down other waitresses to get more syrup for the pancakes. Food was OK. The Benny, eggs Benedict, that my wife ordered was good according to her. We talked to another couple at the restaurant and she said that the stack of pancakes that she had been served were not fully cooked; they were raw in the center. Note: Be careful with your credit card if you visit this place. The waitress charged another person's meal on our card, "by accident", and while she said that it would be removed, it took a long time for her to process our credit card and give us our bill meanwhile she's chatting with other patrons when she could've given us our bill so we could've paid and left. I will need to check my credit card charges to make sure she didn't use my card for other purposes. This place has potential but they didn't do well today (April 5, 2024). We do not plan on returning and cannot recommend this place to others. Two stars because the eggs Benedict is good.

Yelp
I will never go to rays rays at the mayflower again. First time ever going was excited to try the menu and was treated absolutely poorly. Was sat at a table then the bar became available asked if we could move to the bar then as soon as we approached the bar the bartender Rudely said you need to close out your tab from the table you were at. I said yes can certainly do that no problem tried to get the waitress to close our tab she said that she couldn't until we received our food first. we asked why we couldn't just receive our tab and pay so we could continue to order from the bar with a new tab. We again were rudely approached by the bartender saying to us why we are trying to rush the kitchen and why we moved from the table to the bar and said he will not serve us until we have talked to the waitress and closed our tab. we tried telling him that is what we are trying to do is pay the tab and continue to order from the bar. the bartender continues to be very rude was rude from the beginning as soon as we sat at the bar. we asked to just pay our tab because at this point we no longer want to stay with how rude the bartender was being and raising his voice causing a seen in front of everyone The bartender then yells at us saying to leave and not pay and calls us assholes and white trash. As we are trying to leave he continues to say things to us as we are grabbing our jackets and says he doesn't give a fuck. The entire restaurant is now staring at us I have never felt so embarrassed and treated so poorly and rude at a restaurant. I will never go here again.

Yelp
Awesome Filipino breakfast. Stopped by on our way home, wish we found this place when we first got to Virginia Beach. Next time Ray Rays!

Yelp
Ray Ray gets two stars because its Filipino infusion food/breakfast wasn't anywhere near authentic. The food wasn't bad, It just was missing a lot of small details that would equal out to a four or five star Filipino Cafè. If you're Filipino and you order the lumpia, you'll understand what I'm talking about, they do not serve lumpia here, they serve egg rolls, and they have the wrong lumpia sauce. Also, the longanisa is very mild flavored Patty. The only thing that saved them where their Ube pancakes, and that's just because you really can't mess those up. If anyone on the team or in management is reading this, I would suggest an Ube iced coffee or latte. Use the condensed milk that they use for their pancakes to sweeten up or flavor up their Ube iced coffee. also order some Filipino coffee, it would go great with breakfast and would make this restaurant more authentic. Come up with a soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, and some type of dried chili or oil chili as a dipping sauce for your lumpia and your crispy pork belly. The cut of pork for the pork belly, was wrong, along with cooking time because it was too soft. I would also suggest changing the opening time on your Yelp to 8 AM because I got there at 7:30 AM and had to wait an hour till you opened up at 8 AM, but of course if you're Filipino, you were just running on Filipino time, lol. Salamat!

Yelp
Quaint, little spot right off the boardwalk. The customer service was top notch as soon as we entered the restaurant. We waited for about 15 minutes for our table. We ordered breakfast and it took about 45-50 minutes for our meals to arrive. Now I should have known something was up when we were seated and no one was eating around us. We should have been notified that the kitchen was back up and we would have to wait such a long time and everything we ordered did not come. Maybe it was just an off day but man were we underwhelmed and disappointed.

Yelp
First time and last time! Food took forever to be brought! Customers who ordered after us got their food a few minutes after me! And I waited about 20 minutes. Some staff lacking basic etiquette! Big fat thumbs down!
