"This bar, opened last year by Portland natives Lauren and Ryan Victor (with chef Joshua Harmon doing the food), has quickly become a favorite. The funky cocktails change seasonally, and include everything from the import of the first Portland coffee, a flaming drink that is worth the drama of the bar side presentation, and whimsical options garnished with Apples to Apples game cards. The cacio e pepe martini is a must-try — the Parmesan-washed drink will surprise. The vibe in here is ‘90s dive bar, with decor from flashing pinball machines and thrifted paintings. Parking is free on the street but if you can’t find anything, there’s a paid lot around back." - Courtney E. Smith, Kevin Gray

"Rayo is a cocktail bar owned by Ryan and Lauren Victor, with a menu curated by chef Joshua Harmon. It offers a unique bar menu that taps into childhood favorites, recreating fast food burgers like the McFib with a tofu slab. The interiors are painted black, resembling a '90s dive bar, and it's designed for large groups to mingle. Rayo is especially appealing for those seeking a fun, non-traditional Valentine's Day experience with a special tasting menu." - Courtney E. Smith

"Oh hey, were you in need of a bite after hanging out way past your bedtime? Head to this spot with a menu from chef Josh Harmon. The menu is built around a group of sliders that are meant to evoke the vibe of fast food burgers. Our favorite was the McFib — a take on the McRib that replaces the meat with tofu and somehow still lovingly captures the exact texture of that McDonald’s fave." - Courtney E. Smith

Brilliant drinks, food and atmosphere. Highly recommend. Rayo is a comfortable discovery I'll be coming back to for years. In the non-assuming setting of the old Pizza Lounge, the drinks are original and food is shockingly good. It's a full bar with all the staples, but when you're not sure what you want, just tell either Lauren or Ryan (owners frequently behind the bar) what you're feeling and they come up with something on-point that you've likely never tried before. They also have a great list of NA drinks and vegetarian items if that's your speed. I've been several times and always seem to find and authentic, chill crowd with stories to share. Owners are onsite every day and take pride in curating an atmosphere that promotes community and connection. Definitely recommend you give it a try.

This place is incredible. As someone who lives nearby, I am always thrilled to see a new spot pop up in the neighborhood, but Rayo exceeded my expectations 10x over! Every single thing I’ve tried has been innovative and delicious, but the filet o’ fish slider, fries, and house made French onion dip are truly to die for! Cocktails are always tasty too, and you get a lot of bang for your buck. But the absolute best thing about this place is the service - the bartenders are very helpful and attentive, and the owner is seemingly always on-site checking up on guests and making sure they had a great experience. I will be telling everyone about this place so it succeeds, and I hope they never change their customer service philosophies!

The cocktails and food here are next level. The staff are super cool and the environment is as chill as it gets. They also have pinball and pool. Can't recommend this spot highly enough. Great place to go with friends and have a rad time.

Forgot to post when I was here a moth or two ago but I’m still thinking about that pimento and tomato soup combo can’t wait to go back!! Bartenders are friendly and food and drinks are awesome! Even chatted up some of the guests there so you know it’s nothing but good vibes here

Came in before a show at fair park and was very impressed. Amazing staff, great drinks on happy hour, and a solid food from a kitchen open late. Highly recommend especially if you’re looking for a pre/post show bar!

I was lucky enough to be apart of their friends and family/soft opening. The food was AMAZING! I got try all of the sliders and some other things that blew my mind! The cocktail program is fun and industry heavy, which is amazing. And the service is great with good vibes all around. Can't wait to see how these guys grow in the neighborhood.

This is my first time here. The food was great, and the service was as well. It's a new place that I wish was closer to home. Regardless of the fact that it's over 50 miles from home, I'll definitely be back. Try it and you won't be disappointed.
