Where To Eat Sandwiches & Bond With A New Friend - Miami - The Infatuation

"If you want to bring a man to Mac’s—and we always do—but you think he might not be down for sticky floors and cigarette smoke, then take him to Ray’s. Ray’s is to dive bars what the Universal Studios Men In Black ride is to alien invasions. It’s performative, but fun enough to trick the brain. The former 27 space has been converted into a shiny mancave that’s useful in the South Beach bar landscape. Sip Miller High Life, thoughtlessly snack on decent bar food, and go shoot a game of pool while warning New York tourists they shouldn’t show up at 11pm to Space." - ryan pfeffer

A Miami Dining Guide to the Food & Drink Scene | Eater Miami

The 14 Best Bars In South Beach - Miami - The Infatuation

"Ray’s is a fine place to grab a frozen strawberry daiquiri and pretend you know how to play pool. The wood-paneled walls, mounted trophy fish, and poster of Dan Marino in zebra print pants feel forced (especially since this bar comes to us from New York). But this little house inside South Beach’s Freehand hotel never fails to make us feel like we’re a nonchalantly cool background actor in an indie film. They have picnic tables by the pool and an upstairs bar that overlooks the hotel. If you're hungry, stick to the burger and fries—just what you want to be mindlessly eating poolside with a beer." - ryan pfeffer, mariana trabanino

Ray's Hometown Bar Miami - Review - South Beach - Miami - The Infatuation

"Even though we’d happily trade it to have 27 back, Ray’s is a fine place to grab a frozen strawberry daiquiri and pretend you know how to play pool. The menu is a mixed bag of sandwiches and general bar snacks, but stick to the burger and fries—they’re just what you want to be mindlessly eating poolside with a beer. photo credit: Mariana Trabanino photo credit: Mariana Trabanino video credit: Mariana Trabanino Pause Unmute Food Rundown Miami Vice 95% of the cocktails at Ray’s have some kind of “Ray” wordplay to them except this one. Thankfully, that makes it easy to locate on the menu. It’s a strawberry and pineapple daiquiri swirl that’s fruity, icy, and with a dangerously subtle taste of alcohol. Pretzel The pretzel is a bit too dense. If you just want something to nibble on, get the cajun-seasoned fries. photo credit: Ray's Hometown Bar Ray’s Burger It tastes like a Big Mac without the sesame seed bun—and that’s not an insult. We also appreciate how the patty isn't so thick that it’ll make you drowsy after pairing it with two Tecates. photo credit: Ray's Hometown Bar BBQ Pulled Trumpet Mushroom Sandwich We like the flavor, but it’s a very bad impression of pulled pork. The trumpet mushroom is too chewy and slippery (especially with all the sauce they use). photo credit: Ray's Hometown Bar" - Mariana Trabanino

The Best New Bars in Miami, 2023 | Eater Miami

"The third location in the Ray’s family (with two in New York), Ray’s Hometown Bar brings a fresh cocktail experience to the Freehand Hotel, inside what was once the historic Indian Creek Hotel. This indoor bar sits alongside the renowned Broken Shaker (which is outside by the pool) and is inspired by a fictional founder, Ray, with cocktails named after cultural icons from the past century, like the Ray Romano (tequila, lime, soda), the Carly Rae Jepson (Angel’s Envy Bourbon, peach, lemon), and the Billy Ray Valentine, inspired by Eddie Murphy’s character from the 1984 comedy Trading Places (drinker’s choice of spirit with strawberry, lemon, ginger, and soda). While the space channels a nostalgic, homey vibe with wood paneling, vinyl booths, a vintage neon bar sign, checkerboard flooring, a disco ball, and an old pool table, each drink is a nod to a legendary figure and a playful spin on classic cocktail culture." - Allison Ramirez

I had such a great time at Rays in Miami Beach! The vibe is super chill, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the drinks were on point. Big shoutout to Juan the bartender — such a cool guy, really friendly and made us feel right at home. He mixed up some amazing drinks and kept the energy fun the whole night. Definitely recommend this spot if you’re in Miami Beach and looking for good drinks, good people, and a good time!

What a cute little dive bar with all the vibes! My boyfriend & I enjoyed a few drinks late night and they were amazing, music was great, bartenders so charming! See ya soon!

Hands down one of the best bar experiences I’ve had — and Juan is a total legend. From the moment I walked into Ray’s Bar, the vibe was perfect: warm, welcoming, and buzzing with good energy. But what truly made the night unforgettable was Juan, a five-star employee if there ever was one. He was friendly without being overbearing, sharp, professional, and had this effortless charm that made everyone at the bar feel like a regular. Not only did he recommend one of the best cocktails I’ve had in a long time (seriously, ask for his recommendation — he knows his stuff), but he also managed the crowd like a pro, keeping everything smooth even when the place got packed. You can tell he loves what he does, and it makes a huge difference. Whether you’re local or just passing through, Ray’s Bar is a must-stop — and if you’re lucky enough to get Juan behind the bar, you’re in for a damn good night. Cheers!

Google
A big fan of their New York location and the Ray's concept in general, and I fell in love with this new location as well. It's the perfect dive bar that you can actually take your mom to. The bartenders are friendly, the drinks are good and strong, and your feet won't stick to the floor. I was there during NYE, and it was a great time. You might catch me there in 2026.

Landed late traveling in and got here around 10:45 pm. They had a late night menu with a few apps, salads, and sandwiches. Eddy was our server and was very attentive and offered great suggestions. Def recommend

Loved the vibe on the quiet and rainy Tuesday at Rays. Juan was also very helpful with recommendations on food and drinks.

Yelp
What a great little bar! Hard to find but worth the hunt. I went here with some colleagues from work from out of town we wanted a local place that wasn't charging hotel prices for drinks. The service was awesome and the people in the the bar were so friendly. Ended up taking a picture with everyone there at the time. It was wild. A night to remember for sure.

Yelp
Friendly staff, lively fun atmosphere. Promising menu, but it was late night so they were only serving burgers which was fine by me. The burger was pretty sad and lifeless. A sprinkle of grilled onions, no lettuce, a slice of American cheese, a couple of tired pickles . patties were ok. Overall what you'd expect from a fast food place at 2x-3x the price . Tip automatically included even though i ordered at the bar. Overall the energy of place was good with nice outdoor seating at Broken Shaker. But eat before you come and just have some drinks here. At least that's my late night advice . Food might be better when they are doing a full menu .

Yelp
Nice bar by the pool area. I loved how they were playing 2000s hip hop. Gives it a great vibe.

Yelp
Ray's was the perfect stop on our Miami trip. Such a great vibe and the snacks were perfection. The team was super friendly and we most definitely will be coming back soon. It's hard to find places anymore with reasonable pricing + great service + delicious food. Ray's nails all three.

Grace G.

Yelp
It was amazing!! Ray's team knows how to set a vibe. Cocktails upstairs were amazing !

Yelp
Emma is absolutely fantastic !!!! She made mine and my girlfriends experience amazing. She was very friendly and talkative to the point where I felt as if she was one of my friends. She was also very informative about many great places to visit. The bar in itself has an AMAZING chicken sandwich and many fun drinks. The staff is also wonderful and cares about your safety. The vibes were also great. The decor was so fun
