This place is more than just a restaurant, more than just a nice seaside fish tavern, and more than just Bahia regional food. It is love, a welcome hug and local tradition all wrapped in one. Think locals who live there (Including the adorable Dona Suzana & her Husband), locally caught fish, and the most incredible Moqueca one could hope to try. A fish stew with coriander, onion, garlic, coconut milk & dendé (Palm oil), giving it a nutty, umami and toasted taste. Balanced, light yet full of flavour, with a top quality fish, paired with delicious pirão, farofa, rice, amazing black eyed beans (best in Brazil!), and a lovely calming view of the sea - full of resting boats and excited local kids fishing for fun in their little boat. The grandson of the owner and his friends. It has so much vibe - not the pretentious or overhyped type, but the real. The authentic. This is the real deal, set in a local neighbourhood which is full of street art, bananas, & flowers. Locals who greet you with "Boa tarde" as they see you walking. The service can be a bit slow, but this experience was very special, authentic, and I can't wait to return next time I'm in Salvador to be bed and looked after by Dona Suzana.
