Really Good Seafood

"As its name suggests, seafood is big on the menu – and it’s good! Diners can pick from the live fish tanks and the staff is more than happy to recommend cooking methods. Salt-baked virgin mud crab, salad of bamboo shoots and bottarga from wild-caught mullet are among the highlights. Solo diners are also pampered – a number of menus for one lets them sample an array of specialities. Its convenient location next to a metro station is a further bonus." - Michelin Inspector

When the ingredients are top-notch, you don’t need to overcomplicate the cooking. This well-known seafood spot in Taipei is famous for its super fresh, high-quality catch. Sure, the prices are on the higher side—but the quality more than makes up for it. If you care about great flavors and top-tier seafood, this place is definitely worth a visit.

I got the 3500 meal for lunch Food was pretty good. Pretty average in my opinion. They cooked the abalone pretty well. The start of the meal was pretty good up until the beef or pork course. I chose the pork neck and only got like 4 slices. It's a third of the size of the beef if you chose that. The veggies for the pork was a cold broccoli and a piece of sweet potato. For the beef it was 1 snow pea and then a slice of bell pepper. Then came the dim sum course. It was fried sticky rice, I was expecting like a dumpling. It's downhill after the "dim sum course" The fruits was 3 grapes, a slice of orange and a piece of guava. Last course was the most disappointing "homemade" dessert. It's Steamed sponge cake. The cake was not as airy as it should be and it cheapened the meal and experience. The end of the meal sort of made the rest of the meal feel less satisfying and made me feel like I'm over paying rather than happy to spend the money They charged 10% service fee which is stated. But, After swiping my credit card they proceeded to basically push for a tip restating how much the full total amount was then stood by to sort of watch me write a tip. When the person couldn't stay to watch, they had someone else do it. The Credit card was already swiped you got your money. No need to watch me like a hawk. The restaurant was clean and tidy but not much of an atmosphere. Just felt like I was in a regular Asian restaurant. Didn't even take pictures of the place. The alter with the constant burning incense was sort of messing with my taste. Not a fan of incense burning while I eat. Should have a fume hood there if they are constantly burning the incense. Service was great almost constantly refilling tea until they swiped my card (stopped coming by after that). The server did forget to give me utensils for the new course after taking my old ones away. I was really excited to try this place. But the excitement went away when the pork course arrived. Overall 3 stars. Don't feel like it's that good of a place to ever go again.

Heard it's one of the best Taiwanese restaurant. We tried some of the signature dishes like abalone and lobster, it was good and worth a try if you like seafood. Other dishes like beef and fish is quite good too. Service is good and I do like the art pieces in the restaurant. If you are in Taiwan and want to try something nice with Taiwanese style, definitely is one of the best choice.

Really good seafood. No doubt about the freshness, quality and service of this place. Fine food, service and environment, private rooms available. Decide on what you want, that would be tough enough choice. Tanks with selected live fish to choose, can see what you may want to eat before making a choice. Stomach only one, choose carefully. Price is on high side, worth every dollar on what you choose.

The staff are warm and attentive. Took time to explain the dishes served to us and plated individually. The seafood is fresh too. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Came to here because it quite close to my hotel. Order their 1500 NTD lunch set before heading to the airport. Start with your choice of cold dish, they bring out 9 small dishes and let you pick yourself. First course is sashimi, then 4 little dish platter, pan seared abalone, steamed grouper, chicken and Summer bamboo shoot soup, filet mignon, bamboo leaf wrap rice dumpling, end up with dessert and coffee, overall it's a great value lunch in the area. Service was great. Be back with more peo or to try their live seafood. Ps. I order another 1/2 for of gillardeau Oyster

Yelp
"Unsanitary, unfresh and way overpriced" I pass by this restaurant almost everyday. In the morning, you can see fresh seafood like scallops being dropped off in the morning on the sidewalk, left under the sun in the 35-c Taipei summer for hours before the restaurant staff picks them up around noon. If you go to the back of the restaurant, you can see its kitchen is actually in the fire lane between two buildings, and ingredients are washed next to the storm drain.
