This isn't where I'd normally end up, but based on the reviews and location it seemed unfair to ignore the Rebar. Other than the name on the building there was nothing about this place that was political. Regardless of your affiliation this is a good bar with great service, good drinks, and a decent view; although, if you want a better view go upstairs to the roof top bar Sixteen. This was my first bar I stopped into at Chicago and Fernando, the bartender, gave me a great experience that set the bar for the rest of the trip. I got a Purple Rain and a Generation X Old Fashioned. The purple rain is basically a gin fizz, one of my favorite cocktails. The egg was frosty enough to sweeten the drink, but not meringue like a Ramos (my actual favorite). It was delicious and easy to drink. The old fashioned was mildly smokey, with a sweet touch. A good combination for a smooth beverage. If you want a cocktail, a quiet bar, friendly staff, and a nice view this is a decent spot to stop into.

Stopped in at Rebar for happy hour and loved it. The atmosphere was sophisticated and relaxed. Absolutely loved the bartender and cocktails. There was a sufficient spirits assortment for tequila and whiskey for enthusiasts. I would definitely go back!

Google
It was no people today, I like this place just to chill and have some talk. It just a bit expensive, my hub took 2 drinks, I took cranberry juice, and we got spicy tuna rolls and nigiri 2 pieces with edamame and we paid with tips $127. So just heads up , but overall is nice view, calm , clean and good vibe.

Google
Rebar is a chic, high end bar on the second floor of Trump Tower. It overlooks the river. Reservations are preferred but if you're there just for some drinks, there are dedicated tables and of course the bar itself for those dropping by. That of course also depends on how busy they are. The service is phenomenal and our bartender, Diane, was lovely as ever. She served us when we were at 16 Terrace a couple of years ago and even remembered us! They have a full bar with lots of exotic cocktails, wines, and liquors. If you order shots, you will be served a double. Prices seem to average 15 for that double shot. This is a great spot to stop before going out on a night on the town if you prefer to have dinner at a less expensive place. As far as bars go, this is one of the more affordable ones I've been to in Chicago. Dress code is business casual.

Google
One of my favorite meeting places! Amazing views, luxurious decor, chill atmosphere. A bit on the pricey side, so if you're on a budget, it's probably not the choice for you. Drinks are on the strong side, which makes it great for casual meetings, or a pregame for a night out. Staff is friendly and attentive.

Google
Great views of the Chicago River, sophisticated cocktails, and professional service. Top notch bar in Chicago!

Google
I was expecting something tacky with poor quality food for the money. I was very wrong. The fish quality was spectacular, and even though much of the food was American the nigiri was very good. I did not like the fact that popcorn was served as a free appetizer as it felt cheap, it is a chicago thing.

Google
Great afternoon happy hour. Snacks are good as well. Friend plantains and Sriracha popcorn (very good!) Staff is extremely friendly and not rushy or pushy. Great views of the river too.

Yelp

Yelp
Super nice place and great drinks. Great service, great vibe, this is a winner to hang out and enjoy a drink!

Yelp
Beautiful views of the river, service was excellent and food was good. We really liked our server, she was patient and very attentive. Sushi rolls were good. Price point was typical high for downtown, but ambiance made up for it. Would be a great spot to stop for a drink on a date night.

Yelp
Wanted to do a real happy hour (5-7pm) and why not at Trump's hotel? When we arrived, it was pretty quiet, yet we could not get our server's attention after being seated. It was by no means her fault. The table next to us just kept talking and talking and talking; she was just being nice. We had dinner reservations around the corner, and only had 45 mins to drink so the host, Maurice, kindly came over to take our order and ensured we had some snackies to absorb our alcohol as well. Drinks were good and shockingly not very pricy. The ambiance is really nice and we got good views from where we sat. Definitely a cool place to check out!

Yelp
Ambience- elegant but comfortable not stuffy or pretentious. Service- kind, attentive, staff was fun Food- very good, well seasoned, delicious Honestly, a bit more expensive than what we would normally spend but it was a special occasion and well worth the money- a very memorable evening and will return again!!

Yelp
Absolutely stunning spot with a beautiful view of the water and exceptional service. I loved the variety of fun and inventive cocktails. The snacks were delicious. I don't like plantains but I ate all of the chips and the nut mix was divine. Really nice upscale atmosphere with fun people watching. Everyone who works here looks like a model.

Yelp
The margarita was terrific and made just the way I like it! Sonji's service was impeccable. Be sure to ask for him when you visit. He delivered a 5-star experience. They have a vast selection of tequila and know how to take care of people with dietary restrictions.

Yelp
WAR SUPPORTERS. Me and my 5 Ukrainian girlfriends went to rebar restaurant to celebrate my friend's law school graduation. We ordered food and cocktails the total bill was over $800. After maybe an hour the two Russian-speaking men came over they were sitting at the table right next to us and started screaming at us threatening us and talking disrespectful to us. We called the security to figure this out. Security came talk to this men and after he talked to them the waiter brought our bill and asked us to pay and to leave. We called security again and he said we are not allowed to stay because of our violent behavior. They kicked us off because of our nationality. Horrible experience.

Yelp
Food was delicious and fresh. Awesome atmosphere in a lounge environment. A great place to relax and enjoy the river view. After dinner we enjoyed the 16th view deck.

Yelp

Yelp
Me and my partner dropped in for pre dinner drinks! Up the stairs sits the Rebar on the river! Truly an amazing view! We were amazed that we were the only people in the bar! We did not complain!! It was so intimate and special. We enjoyed a glass of champagne provided by Debra the bartender. She was so helpful! The place was clean and the drinks were STRONG! Definitely an amazing way to start the night. Will definitely for more drinks!

Yelp
My friends were in town from Coventry and Scotland. Everyone knows trump all over the world. Like them or dislike him, he's very well-known. It is a towering building, glass everywhere. I feel like this has become a popular building to visit, especially since he is now our president. It's not hard to see why Trump is so successful in business, especially real estate. My friends from Coventry and Scotland said it was imperative that we get some cocktails in the bar at the Trump Tower. We went inside and had our beers and fizzy and sweet raspberry cocktails.

Yelp
If you are looking for a review influenced by my views of Donald Trump, his presidency or his policies you are reading the wrong review. This review will be solely about my experience at Rebar. If you want to skip this review, I recommend that you don't skip it as it will be a good read, Rebar is not worth the hefty price of their food and drinks. First, the food is completely mediocre. I came here with my wife after a night of drinking having a bit of the drunk munchies. We ordered a sushi roll. While, this not an Asian restaurant or per se, I did expect the high quality sushi given the location and price. I was sorely disappointed. The overall taste and quality of the sushi roll was on par with a so-so pan-Asian restaurant. Perhaps I ordered the wrong dish, but I expected anything here to good. Second, the price was ridiculous and a bad value. I do expect to pay a premium at lounge or bar like this that is located in this area. However, the cost for two drinks (a glass of wine and a cocktail) and one sushi roll before tip was over $70.00. I feel that's a little much for the quality of the food. There where, however, some positives. First, the vibes was cool. The night we went, it was laid back and I loved the mellow blue lighting. Second, the service was friendly. Third, the views were amazing. You don't get a much better view of the Chicago River or Loop from this vantage point. Fourth, the cocktail was quality and the wine was good. Overall, this place is a pass. There are plenty of spots along the Chicago River you can eat and get great views for less, and there are plenty of high end bars and lounges in Chicago where the steep price is with it.

Yelp
Dead on a Friday night. Live entertainment was a guy playing some weird music. Everywhere else was full of life. Rebar was dead

Yelp
Loved the atmosphere and the great service.Drinks are unique and there is a mini-performance with their presentation.Outstanding view of the city

Cameron K.

Yelp
Food was mediocre, extremely expensive. Good wine, to help you forget about the food and slightly dirty atmosphere.

Yelp
Food and Drinks were amazing. Fernando was our server, he was very nice and professional and made our experience great! Will be back soon. Thanks Fernando!

Yelp
Lucky enough to catch some great cocktails and good music! Had some purple rain!!! Trump hotel Lobby is jamming with good music and good vibes!

Yelp
We are from out of town. We were told the bar was open until midnight. As we placed our drinks? We were treated like it was last call. We were rushed to finish our beverages. Closed out our bill. And then not told about the 20% surcharge. We have never heard about such a thing unless it is a party of eight people or more. We were not a large party. It was only TWO of us. Beyond repulsed. And will spread this scheme to any and all people on social media. To think we were excited to have a beverage to support our previous President? Makes us full of regret. NEVER AGAIN.
google avatar

Stephanie J.

Yelp
Overpriced, in my opinion. Cocktails run $16 to $18 which is steep compared to other options around the area so I opted for an Allagash Black. Plus, the service was just okay. The view of the river was beautiful and the decor was nice though.
google avatar

Yelp
Awful service. Staff thinks that they are better than you. Hardly attentive at all. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Food is mediocre at best - definitely not worth the prices they are charging. Drinks were terrible and watered down. Do not go here.

Yelp
Had an unexpected invitation to be at Trump tower from a friend whom I met 2 days ago .Luckily there was nothing on my schedule and hence quickly moved my a** there and pretty glad that I din't decline the invite. Rebar is on the 2nd floor of the trump tower and the decor is pretty modern. The best part of this place is having a lot of seating where you could get view of the lake.Good thing is they have high rise chairs too at the bar counter.Complimentary Popcorn and Salt Roasted Almonds will be provided. There are few drinks which are of minimal prices on menu which is a good thing.Even other drinks are not too costly as I thought.I got Cocktail (Vodka With Raspberry and Lychee) and it was pretty good and costed around 10 bucks. Pros: Complimentary Stuff to Munch Quick Service Nice View Good Ambience Affordable Drinks Well you should go grab a drink and enjoy the ambience and view.

Yelp
When walking into an establishment with a Groupon or Gilt City voucher - it can go one of two ways. I've had many experiences where servers seems annoyed or disappointed. This was not the case - service - and rose tasting was amazing. Our Gilt City voucher was for their "Rose All Day" special, aka a rose flight, and two shared plates. The wine selection was great and our server was extremely knowledgeable about each wine, bringing over the entire rose cart as part of the service. For the shared plates, we ordered a cheese and charcuterie platter and the sausage and pepperoni flatbread (literally just a rectangle pizza) which were both delicious. Would I come here and order the food without the voucher? Likely not. The plates go for about $20+ each. The rose flight? Yes! It's $28 for a 3-glass flight which are full pours - great deal! Oh and the views of the river are terrific. Seats of two are up against the glass facing the river. Decor inside is swanky, but a bit dated. I'd come for the tasting, but otherwise it'd likely break my bank. Good spot to visit in the winter for sure!

Yelp
We had planned on going to Roof @Wit but the rain gods would not allow it so we settled on Trump. While I totally loved my drink (hey, it had my name on it) and those pieces of apple and kiwi and fruity goodness, I didn't think that the food was really anything special. For $25/maki roll I expected a bit more I guess. I know it's the Trump and I'm not complaining about the prices, but the flavor combo in the Prism maki was just wrong. The pickled flavor of the jalapenos really ruined the delicate flavors of the really exceptional fish used in the roll. The bulgogi was melt-in-your-mouth good though ... The view is really great and b/c of my keen eye we snagged a table right away but it is pretty loud in here and I could barely hear anything my friend was saying. Maybe I'm just getting old though :-)

Greg B.

Yelp
Service is terrible. The music is from the 70s. The room has no character. Beautiful view wasted on a lounge that has nothing else to offer
google avatar

Gino W.

Yelp
Back for a mango martini and more maki. I had been to Rebar several times, never a dissatisfied experience. Great atmosphere with Bossa Nova playing in the background. Some of the top sushi in Chicago: spider roll, lobster roll, garden roll, spicy tuna. Fantastic bartending service. And wait service that should be bottled. I have lost count of the number of times I have been to Rebar. And the price is not bad, albeit not cheap. But the whole package keeps me coming back.
google avatar

Meredith M.

Yelp
Some people will automatically disregard this bar because of the name on the tower. I suggest thinking again. A beautiful view of the Chicago river and in clear weather, possibly even the lake. Dim, calm lighting. 4 not 5 stars because I know the cost of some of the wines on the list and they are extremely overpriced. You are paying for ambiance. Perfect for a date night!

Carlton B.

Yelp
When I heard of Rebar and the location being inside of the Trump Hotel, I was excited and expected nothing but great things, but soon shortly my thoughts were changed. First there was a big confusion because the menu thats online was changed because of the fall season, they were only selling Sushi. The waiters were nice but the quality of food was terrible.

Tim C.

Yelp
Not over price at all. On power with all the other bars in the area as far as pricing. I felt the food was excellent and so did my girlfriend.
google avatar

Timothy C.

Yelp
Ahhh...this was a cool spot to just chill and enjoy a cocktail served by a friendly and attentive waitress. Sat in a comfortable chair overlooking the Chicago River. Great atmosphere...very laid back. Pricy but worth it to me.
google avatar

Ben S.

Yelp
We walked here after dinner at RPM Steak for an after-dinner drink. The one star is for the view from the bar, which, by any account is spectacular. When we got there, the bar was nearly empty - which, for 10:30/11pm on a Saturday night was really surprising. Despite the lack of patrons, our server didn't see any particular hurry in taking our orders, and the order took forever to get. Initially, we intended to order a second round, but our server largely checked out on us, and we just ended up getting our bill and leaving. Go here to see the night view up the river, but if you're looking for any level of service, head elsewhere.

Yelp
The space is gorgeous, chic, expensive. Just like a Trump blonde. So one of my L.A. friends decides we should try the 'Dreams' punch bowl. 'Dreams'? Very aptly-named considering it costs $225! As in, I could only dream of affording what better contain 24k gold sparkles. Fortunately for us, they also sell 'Dreams' by the glass... for a mere $18. Still out of my range, but what the hell? We're on a bar crawl, the view is fantastic, and I'm already a bit buzzed. I'm almost embarrassed to say that 'Dreams' tasted just like its name (read: I adored it). This is the queen of all cocktails-- p.i.n.k vodka muddled with strawberries and rose champagne. Now if only I received a huge salary bump, I could've stayed here all day sipping on these decadent pink concoctions (yes, I've added a picture). But alas, it was time to leave and compensate for our over-spending with a visit to a dive bar. But I think I'll save this treat for a return visit to Rebar, like my birthday or a romantic evening. Irrelevant note: I think that an Eastern European accent is actually a requirement for any woman to work here. Tres sexy!
google avatar

Rosalind B.

Yelp
Amazing. Darn you, Chicago! Darn you, Rebar! You and your fine dining and your inspired drinks... How are tourists suppose to be satisfied with anything else once they've gone back home? You're a hotel bar and have the nerve, the absolute nerve, to serve drinks that are this tasty? For shame. You set the bar impossibly high for your competition. It's far from a fair fight. The $16 "Brooklyn" was Completely. Worth. Every. Cent. My companion had the Pisco Negroni. I took a sip, of course. Delightful, even if a bit strong for my tastes. And, for the record, service was efficient, quick, pleasant, & professional. Demeanor matched the upscale atmosphere. A solid 5-stars.
google avatar

Lisa V.

Yelp
Cool. Slick. New. Glass. All these words come to mind when describing Rebar. We got there and were a bit confused as I thought the bar/restaurant were on the 16th floor. Nope. The restaurant called sixteen is on the 16th floor. Just the bar is located up the stairs or 1 level from the lobby. And for not even being completely constructed, this place is open & ready for the masses! Wow. What a spectacular cocktail menu. Of course my cocktail was $18 (dang!) but how many of these can you really throw back? I had one and that was quite enough. Floor to ceiling windows that overlook the Chicago River and all the surrounding buildings all backlit is really quite spectacular. Definitely check it out before the next new bar is open down the street. But for lobby bars in a hotel, this one is quite nice.
google avatar

Jesstine G.

Yelp
This gorgeous bar is on the mezzanine level of the Trump International Hotel & Tower. Very chic and cosmopolitan décor with stunning city views. Drink selections are well chosen. Food menu also has a good variety. The pepperoni and gouda flatbread was shockingly delicious! Braised shortrib sliders were great. Lamb meatballs were average. Rebar is pricey (drinks and appetizers ~$22 each), but that's to be expected. We had a fabulous time.
google avatar

Yelp
I'm definitely a fan of Rebar, but I gotta say that I will probably not be returning here for a VERY LONG time. The bar opens at 4:00pm and we arrived at 4:30pm. We were seated immediately (with a view of the Chicago river) and our waitress came by to take our drink orders. I dont drink so I wanted to order off their food menu. Unfortunately the kitchen doesnt open until 5pm!!! So, I had to sit and wait for the kitchen to open. I was not happy because when I'm hungry, I HAVE to eat!!!! Luckily they served complimentary olives and crackers so that was nice. At 5pm EXACTLY, our waitress stops by again to take our food orders. Yay!!! We ordered four dishes and our orders came out two at a time. Service was very good here, despite the bar being pretty full. We ordered the bulgogi, california maki, shrimp tempura maki, and the gyoza. All of the food was good, but not the best I've ever had. My favorite was the california maki. We spent about $70 for two people. Its definitely very expensive here! May be a long while before I return.
google avatar

Stacey S.

Yelp
I love this upscale bar on the river. We were in town for a conference doing some party hopping and I could have easily stayed here all night. The service was stellar - which was to be expected - and our personal bartender made me quite possibly the best drink I've ever had. Some fruity pink fabulous concoction that matched my purse. I loved the views!
google avatar

Mahsa T.

Yelp
A window seat here with views of the Chicago skyline and river can't be beat. I think it's best to come here on a quiet night during off-peak hours so that you can actually enjoy the space and scenery. On this particular visit, we did not have any service issues and no one was snobby or rude to us so I'll give it 4 stars for now. Our waitress was friendly and prompt. Chairs were comfy, decor was modern and cool. The crowd was sparse but eclectic, but then again that can be expected at any hotel bar/lounge. The one thing that really shocked me was the absolutely exorbitant prices for cocktails--starting at $17, who does Trump think he is? The fresh berry fusion (cîroc red berry, mixed berries, simple syrup & a twist of lime juice) was tasty and it better be for that price. Bar menu includes champagne, wine, beer, whiskey, scotch--only the finest and most expensive. Overall, a great place for a date, business meeting, or drinks with friends.

Yelp
Rebar. Interesting literal name for a place that still has views of the rebar sticking out of the concrete on the yet to be finished riverwalk. Rebar wasn't open yet on my last visit to the Trump Tower so this was my first visit to the highly acclaimed lounge located on the mezzanine level of the Trump Tower. Enter off the lobby level and walk up a flight of marble steps. A friendly hostess will greet you at the top of the stairs and show you to your table. We scored a great table with deep leather chairs right at the window overlooking what in the Summer will be the Chicago River and what was on this night- a half frozen tundra. Since we had just finished dinner- the sushi menu that was handed to us was out so we just ordered a couple of drinks and took a look around. As I sipped my drink I thought that there was a good mix of people, from conventioneers manhandling the servers to friends out together for cocktails. There was music playing in the background that at times had almost a club beat going but not so loud that you couldn't hear your friends talk. Service was okay (I'm all for going Green but I am beginning to wonder why it is so hard to get a glass of water to go along with my martini's these days!) and after a couple of asks- we finally got our water. The drinks are not cheap so be prepared. One mixed drink and one martini came to over $35 but I guess something has to pay for the cool restrooms! All in all, Rebar would be a place to stop in at the front or end of your night- but I wouldn't make a whole night of it. Can't wait to see it in the Summer, though, cuz what I was able to discern through the snow- the views of the Chicago River and Michigan Ave bridge are going to be magnificent. Bring your out of town guests . . . .they'll love it. And you will get to nonchalantly say about the view, "Yeah. It's one of the things I love about living in Chicago".

Yelp
Food was decent but not worth the price. Same for the cocktails. Too many other great places nearby that are more affordable.

Yelp
Waitress super nice. DJ excellent (minus the annoying violinist playing along to hip hop (wtf) Don't bother with the food it's terrible. Literally terrible. The 2 stars are for the DJ and the server.

Yelp
Wow!! Amazing! Service was spectacular! Everything was down to a t perfect. The drinks were different and creative. I would defiantly check this place out if I were here again.

Yelp
Went back to Rebar on a Saturday night and was underwhelmed by this place! There really wasn't much attractive to go back another time.. (not even the crowd)
google avatar

Steve R.

Yelp
The Bar itself is swank and totally fun. Most expensive drinks you can find, service is friendly and great place for friends and date night. if you dont make an impression here with your date than you need to work on your game!!
google avatar

Lili K.

Yelp
I went to Trump's rooftop last time I was here, but it was closed last night due to the cold weather! So, we checked out Rebar inside. It's a pretty spot with a great view of the water, and they give you loads of olives and jalapeno white cheddar popcorn to munch on! That popcorn was SUPER addicting, btw! Drinks are pricey as assumed. I got their merry berry nonalcoholic drink which was super pretty with a hibiscus flower on top! Hee heeee.

Yelp
We stopped here while visiting Chicago. The views of the river are fantastic and did not disappoint. We were able to snag a large round table by the giant picture windows. Not an easy task on a Saturday night. We only had cocktails, which were nice and strong. Drinks were a little pricey, but not too bad for Chicago. There were don't Trump branded drinks which were very high priced; Well above my spending limit. They brought our table spicy almonds and olives to munching on, and they were very good. Overall this is a classy little bar with a great view of the river. We will certainly be back when visiting Chicago.
