Recess

Wow this is what I am talking about. Healthy and delicious food at reasonable price for the mass. This place needs to expand to more locations. Food - great selection of taste from Mexican flavor to Mediterranean focus. I will say it’s very simple and delicious. We have a few bowls to go and dine in. It’s better to eat here for warm food. Ambiance - imagine chipotle but very cut down version. This place isn’t that big There isn’t any line during lunch hour and I am surprised. Overall I will come back again if I live here.

My experience here was amazing! For starters I was greeted by Keisha and Allison. They both were very informative helping me decide which way my taste buds were aligning today. I ordered the “Don Diego” with my own little twist. There was enough food to share! Or maybe I just don’t eat much Idk but I’ll be eating all day! I always say the service of an establishment in a funny way makes or breaks the food! The way Keisha kept checking on me and her attentiveness was very warming! This experience was a 10/10 thank you Keisha and Allison!

Really wanted to give this place 5 stars. Food is delicious, healthy and quick. Portions are huge so you can eat off of one bowl for a couple days. However, about halfway through my bowl I crunched down on what I am hoping is a small piece of avocado pit but honestly feels like gravel… just happy I didn’t break a tooth. It may be a bit before I can give this place another shot… see photo.

Was attending a show at the Buckhead Theatre and was please surprised to find Recess. You can’t beat the location, service, or quality of the food. The resturant is extremely clean and inviting. Come eat here as soon as you can!

Tried this new spot in Buckhead. Easy garage parking just inside the Hanover building next to the Buckhead Theater to grab my food to go. Got the Notorious PIG bowl with chorizo. Really tasty and hearty. Lots of flavors and textures and enough food for two meals honestly.

I’m huge on leaving reviews and I have to say this place is the bomb!! The food is extremely fresh and VERY tasty. You get a good amount too very fulfilling. My boyfriend and I came across this place and it was so good we literally went back the next day. Keisha was amazing! very helpful and patient when I asked questions about certain toppings. The boss is extremely nice as well!! Definitely a 10/10. Will be back!

Exceptional! The food is so fresh and flavorful. Wide variety of toppings for salads and bowls. I love to build my own bowl, but what they have on the menu is fire, too. This place is an absolute must! I’ve ordered it quite a few times on UberEATS, and it doesn’t lose its integrity during delivery. I visited the store in-person yesterday and Keisha was beyond delightful. She made my experience even better than I could have imagined! 12/10 for Recess and Keisha!

Our go-to for delicious, healthy meals. The La Vega is hands down my favorite - the chicken is the absolute best chicken I've had from a restaurant like this, ever. The commitment to customer service is amazing whether you're ordering in the store or ordering delivery. We are big fans and so happy to support such an incredible restaurant!

Super friendly service, and amazing food! I went in with low expectations and came out with high appreciation. The food was fresh, seasoned perfectly and portions were adequate. Every individual ingredient is treated with love and respect. I built my own bowl with double marinated kale base, pickled onions, avocado (they give you an entire half!), maple tofu, tomatoes and green goddess dressing. I ordered another side of dressing and didn't even need it. The marinated kale appeared underdressed but tasted just right. I would absolutely eat here again.

This particular area of Buckhead Village had oddly been devoid of a gourmet casual healthy lunch spot. Kale Me Crazy is totally fine, but I view that as more breakfast oriented with cold dishes. Recess, on the other hand, offers hearty options (some are warm) that should leave even skeptical diners quite satisfied. For those of you who don't know: Recess has its origins in Krog Street Market as part of the Castelluci Hospitality Group. It has some really unique salads/bowls that you wouldn't find anywhere else...just look at the menu! And they have a reasonable scope of options...all delectable...and can cater to a panoply of dietary requirements. We got the Harvest Moon bowl and Year of the Tiger salad. They were pretty sizable and left us wanting more for future meals, whether for dine-in or takeout. Great addition to the neighborhood.

I didn't know this place existed, and its delicious. I was looking for something healthy and gluten free. I ended up ordering via Uber eats today and it arrived nice and hot. I got a Don Diego with Avocado (Vegan) until i added shredded chicken - it was so flavorful. There is even a little spice which I love. I almost forgot to use the chipotle crema and that is a nice touch although I didn't use alot of it. Everything was fresh and presented well in the take out container (which is also recyclable). I dug in too fast to even take a photo :(. Next Time!!

I got the Mexican style salad and it was soooo good! Great quality, good portions, and very quick service. The parking to get there was a bit confusing but luckily i was in and out.

THIS PLACE! Today was my first time in. I heard about it on Atlanta Eats. Always searching for healthier food options when I need to eat out. I will be short and sweet. I usually make my own bowls and I always make my own dressings at home. This place has one of the best bowls I've had out! Fresh fresh fresh. I jumped in to my bowl before taking a pic. And thank you to the friendly staff who care about what they sell, I can tell. I did not get names, but I told the young lady it was my first time in and she was as excited as I was! The young man at the register was happy to see and serve me too. Plain and simple, I WILL BE BACK and will tell all my ppl!! THANK YOU!! Oh and tasting the fresh parsley hints made me smile!

Awesome spot for healthy and fresh food! The mix of vegetables, warm rice, and chicken was fantastic. I recommend the Superbowl and Don Diego if you want a full meal and the Kale Caesar if you want a lighter option. We've ordered takeout from here at least once a week since they opened.

So yummy!!! Will totally come back here. Portions are a great size and love the variety this place offers! You can eat here on any diet which is also great. The only thing I had an issue with was that I got the San Diego bowl and the corn was cold. I assumed it would be hot, but my b.

The food is great but the service is absolutely trash every. single. time. I keep giving it a chance and it never fails - rude staff will cause me to never go back. Last time I was there, there was absolutely no customers (it's never busy - prob bc the customer service is trash), yet I stood and waited for 5 min from someone from the back to come - who ran right by me assuming to the bathroom but said absolutely nothing. Then a minute or so later another person came out and just looked at me. Until I was like..,,am I supposed to order? Just awkward. Uncomfortable. And stereotypical Atlanta nasty workers. The food isn't worth the experience!

Simply good food is hard to find. Literally, the simple most delicious dish I have ever had is at Recess. The Notorious PIG with the chorizo sausage is phenomenal. Period.

Food + service was great! The restaurant was clean and easy to access with two parking garages nearby / easy to walk to if browsing around buckhead village. The girl working was SO NICE & made me feel so comfortable for my first experience there! 10/10 will go back

If I give 0 stars, I would. I used to be a huge fan of this place after meeting the gentleman with the leg tattoo of one of their menu items. My next time visiting the lady working was extremely rude and dished out a child-sized portion. I payed with ApplePay and walked out to my car. As I was approaching my car, she ran out yelling in front of the other customers and people in the nearby vicinity accusing me of stealing and not paying. I turned around and told her I did in fact pay but she continued to accuse me of stealing. I walked back into the restaurant to have her tell me I did in fact pay and did not apologize for accusing me. Extremely embarrassing and terrible customer service. I doubt I go back now.

I have never had this much flavor packed into a salad at any other restaurant. I got the sweeter greens salad for discipline but it ended up being a tasty treat!! They set the bar high with this one. The place was clean and the staff was sweet also. I'm hooked!

I love this place!!!! Always so fresh and such a nice staff! Went to the new one in Buckhead and was super impressed with the cleanliness and freshness of the food. Can't go wrong here!
