My evening at Recette was truly exceptional — a perfect blend of cozy Brooklyn charm and lively bistro energy in the heart of Williamsburg. The atmosphere feels warm and inviting, with great music setting a vibrant yet comfortable backdrop and a bar pouring fantastic, well-crafted cocktails that kick off the night beautifully. The highlight of the meal for me was the branzino — fresh, beautifully seasoned, and a standout dish that paired wonderfully with the relaxed yet sophisticated vibe of the space. In short: great drinks, delicious food, delightful music, and a cozy neighborhood spot that makes every visit memorable.

Went here with a group of 10 for NYE and we had a fantastic experience. The food and drinks were great, the interior was pretty and warm, and the staff was absolutely fantastic. The were very attentive, kind, and so accommodating. At the even of the meal, our server handed us a round of delicious grapefruit shots and took care in making non-alc versions for the people in our party who weren’t drinking, which was so fun and generous of them. Highly rec for a large group (~$50 pp without drinks, ~$75 pp with drinks). Thank you so much for a lovely time Recette!

Went for the valentines day prefixe menu. Delicious filet mignon. Lobster tail meat didnt easily fully come off as there was still meat that stuck on. Delicious food and the space was small but they fit in a lot of couples. Highly recommend for a nice brooklyn vibe for french date spot. Book way in advance for holidays!

Everything was absolutely delicious! The service was excellent and our waiter Zdravko took great care of us. Very attentive, friendly, and professional. We had a wonderful experience and will definitely come back!!!

Food was great, atmosphere was amazing, and service was perfect. Came on a random Wednesday night for dinner with my girlfriend and was ecstatic to see a live band playing. Made the mood and environment so much better. The food came quickly and was all delicious. Our server Ana was even better. She always came and refilled our water at the perfect time. She constantly gave us clean plates and clean utensils. She had the perfect energy and the perfect attitude. I’ve only been here a few times, but I would come back solely on Wednesdays to hear the live band for the 10/10 service by Ana.

I just popped in here for a glass of wine before I had to head back to Manhattan. They had a great orange wine. The bartender let me try it before ordering. Its a very cute copy French bistro. I did want to try a few more of their wines but I didnt have time (also didnt want to get tipsy). Stop by if youre in the area! Did not try the food or really look at the food menu

+ Get $25 off $50 using the link on my profile! They have a nice happy hour till 6pm so make sure to catch it. The food and drinks were all decent, nothing spectacular but good and homey. The chicken was alright; I’d recommend the cavatelli more. One thing to note is that contrary to some reviews I’ve seen, they don’t do anything for birthdays — in case anyone comes expecting something based on those reviews and gets disappointed like we were.

Definitely recommend this place. Food was fresh and delicious, served quickly. Everything we ordered was 10/10. I highly recommend French Onion soup! Drinks were amazing. Service was great, our server was Zdravko, he was very nice and made our experience very welcoming. We will definitely come back to this place.

Walked in for a casual brunch. Everything was great. The burger was extremely good and the service was excellent. Ali did a great job taking care of us. Definitely will be back.

I highly recommend this place if you want not only delicious food but also an amazing ambience with a live band. The truffle pasta was phenomenal and the drinks were strong but tasty. Couldn't ask for more. This would be perfect for a date night.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Recette for my homie girls bday brunch. The restaurant is situated in Williamsburg, which exuded a lively and clean outdoor atmosphere.   The service was cool, We were seated promptly, and the overall vibe of the restaurant was calm. Now, onto the main event--the food! Our dishes were good I wish the portions were bigger though lol. I had the lobster Benedict it was good I enjoyed it though it was kind of cold not sure if it's suppose to be but I enjoyed it, I also had potato's & a house salad with it.   Would I recommend Recette ? Absolutely! It's a fantastic spot for a casual dinner.

Service here was great! Our server was very kind and accommodating. I also loved that there was live music with jazz tunes playing in the background was a wonder touch. The space is small but cozy. But, we were able to get a same day reservation for the evening on a Friday night. Appetizers: Mushroom flatbread was delicious Octopus seems like it was boiled a bit to long and not charred enough. Branzino was tasty but not deboned well. But the flavors were great. The capers balanced well with the dish. I was told the brussel sprouts were yummy! Cardamom Panna Cotta was SO GOOD! A must try

Came back here and got the croque monsieur, beef tartare and french onion soup. The french onion soup is a definite must get! I shared it because it was a good chunk of cheese on top, and we were both satisfied. Beef tartare was also pretty good. We were seated right away inside with no wait. The host here is so nice and we chatted with him a bit.

Let's talk about this amazing French restaurant. The ambience is cozy and wonderful. I went on a rainy evening and it felt romantic! The food is Fresh and delicious. I had the Steak Frites and it was tender, flavorful, wonderful. I also recommend their Old Fashioned. It pairs wonderfully. The service is awesome. Everyone was friendly. Highly recommend!

I've been going to Recette on and off for years. Yesterday evening I went for a couple glasses of wine and appetizers with a friend. The food, drinks, and ambiance were nice. Unfortunately our server made us feel uncomfortable and most likely neither of us will go back there again. While we were finishing our last glass of wine the waitress came over and asked us if we needed anything else, we replied no. She then proceeded to stand in front of us waiting, listening to our conversation while holding her card machine. It was awkward, so we said we could pay for the bill and she immediately shows us the card machine with the total. It felt like we were being rushed out of the restaurant even though we were still drinking our last glass of wine and the place was pretty empty. It's too bad we might have ordered more if we didn't feel rushed out of the place.

Listen, this review is going to be quick. I'm walking by, the sign caught my eye and brought me to Recette. It's sooooo hot outside! $5 bucks for anything cold is a welcomed treat. The restaurant looks really nice. The ice cream machine is outside, I ask the waiter to hook a brother up with some of that dessert we all scream for. The cup? It was the size of a small cup you get at the dentist. A Dixie Cup can kick its ass. Honey on the bottom, soft serve vanilla and sea salt sprinkled on top. Was it good? Hell yes

We've been looking for a small homey French bistro and we found it here. The staff was super welcoming and attentive. The food was incredible. We started with the tuna carpaccio, steak tartare and the charred octopus. The tuna was super fresh and the steak tartare and the octopus was some of the best I've had. We then had the duck with potato puree in a mushroom cream sauce. The duck was practically fall off the bone and everything else complemented the duck nicely. For dessert we had the apple tart a la mode, and though I'm not a huge fan of apple desserts I truly enjoyed this. Will definitely be back!

Came here for a delicious brunch this past weekend. Ordered the blueberry pancakes and the steak and eggs. Both dishes were excellent and the restaurant had a rather cute layout with the art and various flowers decorating the space!

I came here during happy hour (Mon-Fri 4-6 pm) and had the best dining experience. The decor here is so cute. I love how they were decked out in twinkly lights and Christmas decor during the holiday season. I also noticed that opened up the windows, so that the indoor space seamlessly connects to the outdoor patio space, similar to how it's done in Paris. I highly recommend making in time for their happy hour, you get so much bang for your buck. The escargot and the mushroom flatbread were really good. I also really enjoyed the drinks we got, Jardin and the Oui Mademoiselle. It's a great place to try French food at a reasonable price. The staff was very attentive, checked in on us regularly, and even made sure that we made it for last call happy hour. I will definitely make a trip back to try their full menu!

Really cute restaurant in Williamsburg! It's very small but well-designed, and the staff is great. We came here for brunch, and pretty much everyone was satisfied. I thought the lobster Benedict was delicious with the brioche and perfectly cooked lobster, but I could have lived without the espresso martini.

The service at Recette was very impressive - the staff checked on us frequently and were very responsive. The food was really yummy - I was impressed by the French Onion Soup and Short Rib Cavatelli. It is a really nice place to catch up with friends. The decorations are well done. I would definitely come back, but I'll bring my parents so they can pay.

To dine at Recette is to love Recette so book a reset and prepare to fall in love! All of the food here is so delicious and that is matched by the service and the cocktails. This gem is easily missed for other bigger buzzier locations but it's a must dine. Amazing for small groups, dates or large groups. The decor is fun and whimsical and the food thoughtfully crafted with flavor and French delight. I went once and have been back several times since. This is probably more of a 4.5 than a real 5. With that said I think Recette is a great restaurant. When we went they still had holiday decor which made it super cozy. We went for my husband's birthday dinner and it was also restaurant week. Nothing from the selected restaurant week menu really appealed to us so we ended up sharing appetizers and entrées The appetizers I'd give more of 4.1/2 and the entrées were really 4.8/9. We shared the kale and fennel salad and heirloom tomato burrata. I looove burrata so I wish this was a little creamier but it was great to pair with the salad. The salad was too sour and a little overpowering. For entrées we got were the streak frites and the beef bourguignon. The beef bourguignon was delicious and the fries were crunchy. Overall staff are super attentive and friendly and it would be a very cute date spot.

Just found this cute French bistro at Williamsburg. We came here before 6:30pm, they have happy hour menu! Cocktail for $12!! And all the small bite for $11 What a great deal! Highly recommend the escargot, Mushroom flatbread, and Shrimp Toast! Definitely coming back:)

efficient and friendly service is complemented by a delightful array of wines and delectable french cuisine. my suggestion is to secure reservations during weekends, given how busy it gets. my only feedback is that the steak was cooked to a medium when I asked for a medium rare

Happened to just stumble upon Recette for brunch & it was such a great find! The restaurant is super cute with both a great outdoor seating area & of course indoor dining. The outdoor shed does have air conditioning, a MAJOR PLUS!!! The decor is very neighborhood french bistro. The service was great & attentive, even on a busy Saturday brunch. We ordered the burger, which was seasoned to perfection. The Nutella French toast for a sweet fix & the eggs/meat breakfast... all were a hit!!

We came here for dinner and had a great time. Ricardo the server was amazing. He was friendly and helpful. We tried Escarfot- Good, Shrimp toast-amazing, short rib cavatelli good and the branzino - great. The drinks were amazing too. Great for date night or night with friends.

Really great little dinner and drinks spot. We came here for a late meal and really enjoyed the ambiance of the cozy, outdoor cafe. The drinks were good and the food as well. Nothing mindblowing for what the prices were. I ordered the mussels and they were a bit garlic-ey and would have been better with softer bread. Yet the kitchen was very backed up and the staff did a great job at getting our orders out quickly regardless.

Very cute, easy-going, yet high end location! Absolutely loved the aesthetic and the openness of the restaurant. Despite being small, there's no sense of crowding or loudness. Food was delicious and a pleasant experience on the mouth and belly :D What we ordered: French Onion Soup - 9/10 Very solid. Love how they don't skimp on the cheese. It was roughly 80% cheese and 20% broth when usually that's switched around. Liked taking the broiled crispy bits and dipping them in the soup. Wild Mushroom Flatbread - 8/10 Bit biased here since I don't usually like goat cheese nor mushrooms (but a huge fan of truffle), but I'm trying to introduce foods I tend to deviate from into my palate. Very delicious and paired together well! Dough was immaculate. Octopus - 8/10 Very unusual flavors! Sweet, bitter, tangy, salty, savory all in one. Short Rib Cavatelli - 9/10 Exactly what you want. Love the texture of the pasta. Generous dollop of ricotta which is always welcome Peach Cheesecake - 5/10 Like cheesecake with canned peaches on top. Good! Nothing special.

Love this place. I stopped bc I was early for event near by. Luckily it was shoot hour n I gad the old fashioned for $12. Superb. Jeff and Rice ( bartender in training) were amazing! If I lived near, I would come everyday! It got busy after. Best fries I ever had so crispy n hot. The car has beautiful bottles and aromatics is display. As Jeff said " aesthetics is everything "! J'adore! C'est Magnifique !

Lovely staff, fun atmosphere. We were in a heated dining cabin, a party of 6, and we asked for the music to be turned down 5x and it never happened. The food was uneven. My steak was cold and two of the pasta dishes were too salty and had overpowering garlic. The fries were not hand cut and tasted it. It was very disappointing to have a mediocre steak with frozen fries that were lacking taste. The drinks were great. The desserts were just okay. The crème brûlée crust was firm, but cold. Like it'd been made a day before and was sitting in a freezer somewhere. The foie gras appetizer was not good. The mushroom flatbread was tasty.

This place is just lovely! On our way to a dinner date, my partner and I noticed Recette and we're very interested in the menu. We made a mental note to come back here -- glad we did. Ambiance, service, food - 10/10, easily. My partner is a big fan of FO soup, we read that it contains veal broth -- gosh, it was decadent and delicious. Simultaneously agreed it was one of the best we've ever tasted. Truffle wild mushroom pasta - DELICIOUS. It was rich and creamy. Very satisfying. Short rib cavatelli - Comforting, the ricotta and the short rib goes soooo well together. Creme brulee - pretty good, fairly standard though Will return for brunch

Absolutely loved my meal at Recette! We had all my favorite French classics (Escargot, Steak Frites, Creme Brulee) and I was impressed with all three. We also tried the octopus from the appetizer list which may have been my favorite thing from the whole meal. The team was so friendly from the second we entered the door, and the vibes were perfect (I loved all the floral elements). Both the patio and inside were decently full but not too jam-packed to the point where I felt uncomfortable. Will definitely be going back to try their brunch at some point in the future - I need to try that Croque Madame!

This review is for brunch only. Made a reservation for their covered outdoor area for a Saturday with four people plus two small dogs. I live around the area and this will now be a staple spot! None of the food was mind blowing, but it was very good. Service was great and the covered outdoor area is small, but cute with hanging plants and great if you have dogs. I ordered: -Croque Madame: perfection! Ooey gooey, and cheesy. -Blueberries Pancakes: we ordered this as a shareable for the table. Nothing fancy, but they are delicious pancakes. Others ordered the burger and eggs benedict with ham. Both people really enjoyed their meals!

Visited this spot last night. Overall experience was okay. I thought the lighting was way too dark upon coming in. Started off with a cappuccino that tasted more like a regular cup of black coffee instead of that nice foamy milk texture throughout. The staff was very friendly and attentive which was nice. We ordered the Branzino which was pretty good. The fish had a good taste and texture and was a good portion. For dessert, we had the creme brûlée which looked appealing from the outside. Once we took a bite out of it, it just was not good.

Had dinner with friends at Recette on Monday night. With the extent of the menu we tried, there were shockingly few exciting dishes and way too large a bill for what we got. Quality: After trying multiple dishes from the Prix-Fixe Menu as well as the standard menu, I simply was not impressed. I started with the Voulez Vou Mocktail, which was not good. It clearly needed some sweet element to pull it together. The French Onion Soup was fine. Despite looking good, it would not be something I would feel the need to order again. The Steak Tartare was substantial, but bland and lacking salt. The Escargot and the Mushroom Flatbread were both okay. My entree, the Short Rib Cavatelli was the worst of the night. Overcooked pasta, flavorless meat, and an extremely bland sauce. Not sure what the thought behind it was. The NY Strip Steak had a decent piece of meat, but it was the sauce that made the dish. For dessert they served a pretty good Panna Cotta. Quantity: The Prix-Fixe Menu on its own is quite substantial. Value: $14 for the Mocktails. $14 for French Onion Soup. $36 for the Steak Tartare For 2. $59 for the Prix-Fixe Menu. Ambiance: Recette sits on a quiet corner in Williamsburg. They have an outdoor shelter, a wrap-around outdoor patio extension, and a main indoor dining area. Lots of plant life filled the more casual space, though the bar area was very chic. The real highlight was the fun and quirky music choices, which spanned genres and languages. Crowd: One larger party and two couples. Service: Very friendly staff, but they seemed ill-prepared and unfamiliar with the menu. They needed to take our order multiple times, and we still needed to prod them to get all our items and our drinks. Parking: Plenty of parking right outside.

What a cute French restaurant, just perfect for a night out for chitchats with nice ambience. The indoor portion is a bit crowded, but the bar looks pretty decent. The outdoor portion is nicely enclosed, heaters included. We tried quite a few dishes: the Heirloom tomato burrata was really refreshing, Burrata Cheese so chewy and awesome; the Branzino fish was tasty; and Maitake mushroom was pretty fun and crispy. Service was friendly and accommodative. Our chicken needed some extra fire at first, but our server quickly apologized and took it back in. Overall positive experience!

A good friend of mine was in town and we made some dinner plans. Recette had been on my radar for a few days and I'm glad we made the decision to go. First and foremost its a gorgeous spot in Williamsburg, the decor is inviting, romantic and really makes you feel at home. A gentlemen met us at the door and greeted us, welcomed us in and had us pick any table we wanted. ...We should have gotten a bigger table, French Onion soup is delicious, complex, depth of flavor and served with traditional gruyere cheese. A truffle, mushroom, goat cheese flatbread was a perfect shared appetizer Linguini Bouillabaisse, Mussels, Frites, everything cooked perfectly, seafood cooked just to the point of doneness, without being rubbery. Service was super attentive even though the restaurant was busy. The recommendations were spot on and I even tried an egg white based cocktail. Crème Brulee was good and a bit more dense than I have had before, but the flavor was really spot on. All in all this French restaurant really adds some much needed Parisian flair to the neighborhood. I can't wait to come back here and try the other signature cocktails they have on their menu. The hospitality is fantastic and the food is the icing on the cake. Don't make the mistake of not visiting this new up and coming spot!

We had some delicious cocktails we had at @recettebklyn plus some dishes! :) Still thinking about this meal! Wow!! The Miss O'Hara: Passion fruit purée,Tequila , Mescal, lime juice, Himalayan salt. Super yummy and refreshing!! The Recette old fashioned: Bourbon, mescal, lavender syrup, orange bitters. Perfect combination of flavors! Oui mademoiselle: Blackberry purée,Vodka, St Germain, rosemary, sparkling wine. My personal favorite! That blackberry just hits different I also had some amazing flatbread with mixed mushrooms, goats cheese and truffle flatbread & The French Onion Soup with gruyere, veal broth, crouton was yummm! This place is just amazing The Ribeye Steak, with Broccolini, served with peppercorn sauce was cooked to perfection!! Seared butterflied brandzino with oreganatta sauce, capers, lemon, watercress is one of the best dishes ever! It was just amazing!! And of course the most delicious dessert the Molten Lava Chocolate Cake with vanilla ice cream!! Yummm!! Recette was so much fun!! A Must visit!!

A great ambiance in this spot! The menu is full of awesome choices and I really enjoyed my French onion soup. This was a great place for a new years day lunch or would be perfect for date night. Service was quick and friendly. Planning to come here again!

We loved our afternoon with Recette!! The happy hour deals are great -- we enjoyed a french 85 and oui mademoiselle, both of which were very tasty. We shared the steak tartare and french onion soup as a starter. Both were absolutely delicious and had great flavor. We shared the braised short rib cavatelli as a main, and it was delicious but needed salt. Then it was perfect! Shout out to our server, he was wonderful, and very knowledgeable. We will definitely be back

The restaurant has gorgeous decor decadent with deep gold mirrors, open window concepts, and beautiful pink and sunset colored flowers draping from the inside out. The food was delicious. I went for restaurant week and enjoyed everything, but most of all the lavish deserts. Crème brûlée of course, panna cotta & poached pear-- still thinking of the taste. The best part was the cocktail-- mango and passionfruit purée really added an amazing touch to these refreshing drinks that were beautifully garnished. A true Brooklyn gem right in the heart of Williamsburg: Recette.

First time I ordered takeout from here because i was craving steak and let me tell you I did not regret it. The second time around I decided to head over for brunch - steak and eggs and a couple of cocktails - this time dining in. My Gosh. For one its a cozy spot with pretty outdoor seating. The servers were ever so attentive for it being quite busy and were great. If I had more to tip i wouldve. The food, from the home-fries to the eggs and steak, and every cocktail I was in heaven. Definitely the nee regular spot for us. Love it there.

The ambience of the place is nice, but both mains we got were overcooked - the chicken was dry, and the medium rare steak didn't have a hint of red in it (though the fries were delicious). The Brussels sprouts had too much sauce that was too creamy and vinegary. The pizza/flatbread-y app was good though. If I had to go back, I'd try the beef bourguignon, since it doesn't require so much precision with the cooking time.

Recette came highly recommended on Yelp and I expected better. This is a French cafe with very basic fare. What really threw me off was their "brunch menu" which essentially picked up items from their regular lunch menu and added $3-$5 per item. So strange and so quintessentially Williamsburg. Fundamentally they are marking up a regular menu for a weekend. I wouldn't spend money here when there are several much more impressive dine-in options around.

Came to Recette on a Sunday night with a partner and has the loveliest dinner. The restaurant was not super packed and we were able to sit outside, which was nice since it was a warm spring evening. The waiting staff was very friendly and our food came out very fast! We ordered a French onion soup to split as our appetizer. I'm not the biggest fan of French onion soup, but this one was quite good-crispy Gruyère top with really really good slow cooked onions that might burn your tongue If you're not careful. I got the braised short ribs cavatelli and my partner got the burger--both were delicious. The fries were excellent, crispy yet light. My only qualm was the cavatelli was actually an orecchiette, but I didn't mind too much since it tasted wonderful. Next time we'll have to try the truffle gnocchi and stay for dessert (eyeing the crème brûlée)!

Phenomenal, authentic, and fairly priced French food. Quality: 5 Value: 5 Service: 5 Ambience: 5 We were in town staying right nearby and ended up eating here three different times. We had one dinner, one happy hour, and one dessert visit here, because every time we came it was so cute, so friendly, and we knew we had to try just one more thing on the menu. The steak-frites were AWESOME. They are worth the price. The French onion soup was also delightful. The molten lava cake was just alright. Their wine list and cocktails are remarkable, and so are the servers. I would recommend this place over other French spots in Williamsburg.

Upon a second visit, I am slightly more underwhelmed. I'm mostly taking issue with their entrees hovering uncomfortably around $40 and their cocktails at around $19 (the neighborhood median is $14) matched with wildly inconsistent service (there was so much confusion!), dirty water glasses, and food that is solid, but does not surpass Recette's cheaper neighbors (Bistro So, Leo, Lamonte). They are not Francie, and they do not have a Michelin star. The French Onion Soup is a decadent as can be, and their flatbreads are delicious, but droopy. The pasta dishes are tasty, but seem a tiny bit sparse. The burger, however, was a soppy mess that could barely hold itself together. It's a good restaurant, and you'll have a nice time here, but it's comically overpriced.

We'd eyed this restaurant walking by. The vibe suggested 'good food is here'. And yes, the vibe is matched by the food. The fries from the steak frites are outstanding. The crab cake is excellent. Wine list is thoughtfully matched to the food offerings. Highly recommend.

All of the cocktails are delicious and the food is amazing. Service has been top tier every time I've been - Mira gave great recommendations and the owner came by to check on us. Perfect for a date night or a GNO- I'd highly recommend! (My favorite drink is the Jarin)

My daughter and I came here recently for a Saturday brunch. It's a lovely spot. We had omelettes, French onion soup, fries and a Mocktail. All great. Safff is very on point. Just found out they are doing live jazz every Wednesday night starting at seven.

Steak frites and the French onion soup were so good. Hidden gem in this neighborhood!
