Where To Eat Dinner Before A Show In Las Vegas - Las Vegas - The Infatuation

"Until the Encore Theater at the Wynn lets us bring Red 8’s oxtail soup into the show, you’ll find us here pre-show, post-show (they close at 1am Friday and Saturday and midnight the rest of the week), and probably also post-post show getting takeout because their dumplings taste even better in a hotel bed wearing a robe. But before you get to that part, you’ll sit in a very red space with billowy white curtains that looks fancier than it actually is. Come here whether you’re all dressed up or in something more casual for some really solid Chinese food." - milena difiore

Where to Find the Best Dim Sum in Las Vegas | Eater Vegas

"The short dim sum menu at Red 8 is served in a lavish dining room drenched in rich reds. Priced between $8.88 to $20.88, items include everything wild lotus to fried crab claws and steamed chicken feet. The design in this restaurant is sure to draw the eye between courses, but definitely make sure to look up at the ceiling as you walk through the entryway." - Janna Karel

Red 8 Asian Bistro Review - The Strip - Las Vegas - The Infatuation

"From the red walls to the billowy white curtains to the vases that you really want to but definitely shouldn’t touch, Red 8 is one of the classier late-night options in town. At the same time, this Chinese spot in The Wynn manages to be really comfortable and casual so there’s no need to worry about being too loud or whether you’ll feel out of place in whatever you show up wearing. Get the oxtail soup and the spicy pork dumplings to wake yourself up before getting at least one order of pumpkin dumplings - you’ll find yourself telling people at home about them as frequently as you tell that story about riding The Strat’s Big Shot." - Milena DiFiore

Google
The food was very good for the most part. We enjoyed the rolls and curry, but edamame had a bit too much salt and wantons weren't my favorite. However, we were served quite fast, so we didn't have to wait for the service. The staff were very polite and nice. They stopped by a couple of times to ask if we needed anything. I didn't give the atmosphere a top rating just because there's nothing much to say about it. Very simple but clean interior.

Google
We have become regulars here, my go to is the General chows or kung pow chicken The servers are always so nice and always trying to make sure everything is right I have had one ordering mistake on food but they fixed it fast it was awesome how fast I believe it was my mistake ordering but they made it right fast. I’m really picky so this is a really good honest review it takes allot to get me to do these reviews

Google
Excellent family business with excellent food and variety. Some of the best hot and sour soup I've ever had, but also all the dishes we got were great.

Google
Red 8 is a great family-run restaurant in Spanish Fork. The service is always fast, and the food is consistently high quality. They have a large menu with plenty of options, whether you’re in the mood for sushi, Asian entrees, or something lighter. It’s a solid spot for a quick lunch or a relaxed dinner — you can always count on a good meal here.

Google
We found another sushi restaurant!! The food was very good, the hosts and servers were very kind, and the prices were great. We ordered two Thai lunches: Thai yellow curry, Thai red curry (had a little more spice than yellow), they both came with choice of soup and rice so we chose: egg drop soup, hot and sour soup, white rice. My son ordered orange chicken and his plate was huge!! The picture shown shows what was left after he was full. All SUSHI was very good. We ordered the Vegas roll, Volcano roll, Dynamite roll. There were 4 of us and we all walked away happy and excited to have a new restaurant to visit for lunch that was close to home!

Google
Took a bus full of senior citizens here for dinner. They took our order promptly and got things out fairly fast for our party of 40. The food was good. The service was friendly. It was an enjoyable experience.

Google
Fantastic food for a reasonable price. Great service. Glad we ignored the bad reviews. Stopped here when passing through. Will definitely come again if we are in the area. Curry, Ramen, sushi, and orange chicken were all wonderful.

Google
This place is so good, we go here almost every week! It's soooo hard to find a good Asian restaurant in Utah, but this place does it right. 🤤

Yelp
Great service, great sushi and very reasonably priced. definitely would recommend and will be coming back!

Yelp
The food was garbage. The kids got the teriyaki chicken kids meal, I thought they forgot the teriyaki sauce. The chicken was so dry! I got the chicken Katsu bento, also dry. The sauce tasted like they used ketchup. It was like the food was freezer burnt, even the rice somehow resembled being freezer burnt. We had other things at the table that were so so. Oh well, just a waste of $72. P.s. the service was nothing to whine about.
google avatar

Yelp
Such a good little Asian spot! Everything is always clean when we go and I like that you can see in the kitchen and watch chefs roll sushi! The staff is always nice and willing to accommodate any requests. I will say there is a nice guy who works there but, there is a smidge of a language barrier. That does not affect his service at all!!! Their entrees are served with steamed white rice; fried is extra $2. Their lunch is awesome and served with cup of soup, 2 dumplings, and your entree for ~$12. Besides the food items pictured I'd recommend the lo mein and Mongolian beef Red 8 will always be in our rotation.

Yelp
Decent lunch specials - comes with two sushi rolls and soup Bento box was decent as well

Michael C.

Yelp
I go here for the sushi and it's been good! I wouldn't recommend their other dishes. Tonight I got the teriyaki chicken dinner bento, and it was sad. The chicken was dry, stringy, and crusty on the outside. There was so much dressing on the salad that it spilled all over my California roll and rice.

Yelp
Went out for lunch with my coworkers and they raved about this place! I'm not super familiar with sushi but we ordered some really yummy stuff like the Crazy Girl & Tiger Eye rolls, etc. I had them pick what they loved because of the giant roll section of the menu. It was pretty packed on a Monday afternoon and the service was a little lacking but the restaurant was clean and the decor was very fitting.
google avatar

Meaghan O.

Yelp
Food came hot and fresh, however, I'm not entirely sure what I recieved was general tso chicken as I've never had it like that before. It was very soft and falling apart. Miso soup was okay, and California roll was okay also. Over all to impressed but it was 3/5 stars for me.

Ricky P.

Yelp
Listen... Im not from the area, but this little gem right here needs some praise. I got sat down as soon as I walked in the door, got my drink and looked at the menu for like Idk 6 or 7 mins (this is important). Made my order and started playin on my phone. Before I knew it I had my cowboy roll in front of me, 30 seconds later, my potstickers, a minute later I had my chicken bowl. I cannot stress enough that I had my food in front of me in less time than it took me to look through the menu. Sushi roll was decent, I got some ponzu sauce to dip it in. Potstickers had just came out of the fryer, donburi bowl was hot, tempura veggies were nice and crunchy, chicken was not dry. Id recommend this place for a quick bite. Its not fancy but it will get you full and happy.

Yelp
Fresh off a poor experience in Ohio and it was time to try another Asian restaurant considering the fridge was empty and wanted something quick as it was getting past my bewitching hour where I turn into "Mordred" (Stephen King character) Seen this place in passing but have stayed away because of the chain mentality. Walked in to sit and eat and they had a decent crowd for 7pm on a Tuesday. Ordered a Rainbow roll appetizer and while the price was ok, the amount of fish was minimal and the filling was a fake crab mush but hey, plenty of rice, equal to what you can buy in the grocery store! Next up was the Mongolia beef with a side of fried rice. Now compared to Ohio, this was much better, had nice spice, was not too tender, nice texture and had a good feeling it was from a cow. The rice was ok but was missing the scallions chunks and found it hard to find the egg. The other dish was the Triple Delight combo of shrimp, beef and chicken. Had nice flavor but the texture of the beef and chicken was too tender, like not meat? Found this place to be better than others in the area and people were flocking In during our meal so it seems to be the local favorite. Food mains were served very quickly, in less than 12 minutes which tells me it's not made fresh per say and par for the course but no surprise in this instant gratification era. Staff was pleasant and judging from the worn out seats they have plenty of backside patrons. Now if I rated them on the Mongolian beef, they could have been a 4. I will go back and try a few more dishes.

Yelp
I have given this place 3 different chances 6 months apart. Each time was a 1 star experience. The service is awful. They misrepresent their promotions and then argue with you about it. The food is disappointing at best. You can get the same quality at Maceys. I keep wishing this place was better because I really want a decent sushi place here in town, but they are unwilling or unable to step it up.
google avatar

Johanna L.

Yelp
First of all, the establishment needs a good cleaning. The food is overpriced for the quality. They use an abundance of cheap ingredients like onion to bulk up their dishes. The the spicy tuna did not taste fresh and seemed to just be mixed with sriracha for flavor. I cannot recommend the food unless you're a fan of Panda Express level Asian food.
google avatar

Yelp
I had the Teriyaki Chicken bowl, and it was very good!! I also had the choice of a bottle drink or a fountain drink .

Taya T.

Yelp
Food was so good the service was fast and sushi is so refreshing. I had the Kung pao chicken itbwas pretty spicy but delicious

Yelp
This place has the worst customer service We ordered our meals when we got home Missing house salad, missing gyoza, 3 of the rolls did not have the top layers added. We called for a refund on the items not delivered and they refused to provide refund unless I drive back over to their restaurant. They took payment over the phone but refuse to credit their errors.

Yelp
I was really hungry for this food - hard to find good Chinese food in Utah valley, I feel. This one disappointed in customer service mostly. The attendant was not at all attentive, in fact, he was more into his cell phone than anything else. The staff needs improvement, I get it though, it's their establishment and if we don't like it, don't return. Food wise, it was mediocre, nothing much to write about,
google avatar

Max W.

Yelp
Expensive for the amount of food that you receive. Also the rolls are pretty basic and the service was not great. Placed a to go order and ended up waiting quite awhile past when it should've been ready. Quality was fine, but nothing special. I tried three different rolls and none of them left me feeling particularly impressed. Compared to other sushi places in the area it is fine, but nothing to write home about.
google avatar

Michelle D.

Yelp
We have tried so many local ish Chinese food places. This is by far the best we've found. Service lacks a bit, but the food is tasty! This is our go to for Chinese food and sushi!
google avatar

Thomas J.

Yelp
Just got DoorDash from Red 8 Asian Bistro. The sushi rolls were so good!!! Totally fresh and they hooked me up with a few other things which was amazing. Thank you Red 8.

Janmarie S.

Yelp
I love Chinese dumplings. I have tried them all around the valley and these are as good as I can find. They are very meticulous in their order and prepare most of the food from fresh ingredients. There is no skimping on amounts, I bought a bento box and it was enough for two of us.

Anna S.

Yelp
My husband and I have been coming here for years. We are always satisfied with our food and experience. What a great local sushi restaurant to have in Spanish Fork! Try the Valentine roll. It's the best!!
google avatar

Beth M.

Yelp
We love their food. We do usually get takeout.... Recommend that. However, today we ordered takeout not realizing they closed ten minutes after. We paid and left to go order for a picky teenager someplace else. They waited twenty minutes past closing and stayed open so we could grab our food. Impressed with customer service.
google avatar

Lilian G.

Yelp
This place was open for at least 20 mins when we placed our order. But they ended up canceling our order 45 mins later instead Id right away. Claiming that they had high volumes of orders.
google avatar

Uzumaki S.

Yelp
Used to like this place, not so much now. Literally the entire staff is cold and unfriendly. I ordered a bottled beer that had mold or some kind of white something or another growing on the bottle. Got complete attitude from our server when I sent it back. Said d bag decided to omit things from our order and refused to come back to our table. The salmon sashimi also had dark spots within the meat that looked like....well....something that should not have been there. Never again. Wish I could put 0 stars.
google avatar

Jean W.

Yelp
Just a quick update...the service here is terrible. Really terrible. Like, "how do they feel good about themselves" kind of terrible. We've only done takeout here because...terrible service. But even the pickup experience is just awful. It's typically very quick unless there's a crowd awaiting orders but, wow it's such rude and uncaring service at the register. From flinging your bags of food around (even upside down!) to see what order belongs to whom, to literally shoving the food at you once you're paid, to not even as much as speaking any words to you other than your total, it's a disgraceful way of dealing with customers. We've never had a thank you here one time. Just a warning for those who value being treated as a human even for pickup.
google avatar

Stewart D.

Yelp
It's hard to find good rolls. Compared to other options in Utah County this is high in my list. My go-to for local sushi. If your heading to or from Moab and yelping options - this is a good place!
google avatar

Sasha L.

Yelp
I loved the food options of this place. Unfortunately they were slightly understaffed so we sat ourselves. My husband and I were suggested to try this place from his mom. So we went after golfing all day! Their konosumo salad was incredibly refreshing and a nice starter! I loved that it was served in a martini glass! We order a cup of miso soup! Which was a all serving! And we ordered two sushi rolls. Citrus roll and tropical roll! Prices are affordable and I am pretty sure it's a family run business!!! This was enough to fill both of us!! Can't wait to go back and try their other dishes on their menu!!

Chalisse S.

Yelp
Love the food and it's a good price for sushi! Red 8 has become a regular for our family

Crystal D.

Yelp
I would not give them any stars at all. When we first got there the male looked at us but kept doing what he was doing a customer went to the lady her we were waiting. The guy then came over took us to our table and threw our menus down like we were dogs. We waited a while to get drinks, then we asked for a little longer on ordering cause I didn't know what to get. We waited so long people who came in after us was done with there food. The goyza and spring roll weren't even a tad bit warm. Just plain disgusting
google avatar

Kim C.

Yelp
The Chicken Red Curry is the bomb. The dinners are great too. The quality, quantity and price of the food you can't beat. We eat there at least twice a month.

Brittney H.

Yelp
Services sucks if you want to wait for your food for 45 minutes come here. It's freezing inside so wear a jacket and don't be surprised when you see child labor. I guess that's a normal thing here. Food will be given to the wrong table to eat so enjoy waiting more. Sushi looks beautiful so nothing against the chef bad experience was 100% based on everyone that need to have customer service skills except the child they are using to act as a server it's not his fault his parents are the way they are
google avatar

Rachael D.

Yelp
We've been here twice already for lunch! They have a lunch special that can't be beat (for sushi)! You get a bowl of soup and TWO sushi rolls (from a list of sushi rolls, and yes, they are full size) for $7.99! My favorite are the Vegas roll and the tuna avocado, and my husband enjoys the spicy tuna and the Vegas roll. The tempura veggies are the perfect amount of crisp! We got the teriyaki chicken and rice for our daughter - she loved the white rice and did not like the chicken at all and I don't blame her; it was odd like it had been cooked, frozen for too long or got wet before freezing, and then nuked (no bueno). The service is fantastic, helpful, courteous, and always keep your drink full!
google avatar

Madelyn B.

Yelp
Loved this place! Ordered through doordash and our order was exactly right! The playboy, executive, and Texas roll were Devine! This is definitely not highest-quality food, but it is excellent for the price you pay! The Tuna was tender and yummy, and the eel was soft and perfect! Will definitely be eating here again!
google avatar

Jeffrey A.

Yelp
Very slow and disorganized service. After bringing out our food our waiter asked if we had received our appatizer which we had not, she said she would get it right out, but never did. When we got the check it was still on the bill. I asked her to remove it and she said her manager wouldn't let her. Ended up paying for food I didn't receive. The food itself is only average quality, and definitely not worth the poor service.

Adam C.

Yelp
I was pretty impressed. Their sushi rolls were pretty good (I mean, you can only get a certain level of sushi in Utah... There just isn't anyway to get really fresh fish). Their fried rolls were quite tasty. Their prices were pretty dang good. Their fried dumplings were spot on, which makes me excited to go back and try their other food. They were exceptionally quick. I'd say overall their service was pretty good.
google avatar

Robert M.

Yelp
New place in town so The Babe™, The Cipher™, and I stopped by for lunch. They have a good mix of Japanese, Chinese, & Sushi. The service was great, the food was very good...better than I expected for the price. We only had a few sushi rolls (and since The Cipher™ is on a no meat kick, two of them were veggie rolls). The food was great, we will be coming back...

Alysa B.

Yelp
Thank you for being opened on Christmas night! This place is busy. Service was great and quick! Thank you for helping us out tonight with a great dinner!

Yelp
We have been patrons at this restaurant several times and the food has always been excellent. It was our waiter today that had us upset - we ordered fried rice with shrimp - even pointing to the item on the menu because I didn't feel like she was listening. When our order arrived, it was noodles and shrimp. When I told her it wasn't what we ordered, she proceeded to look at the slip she had written our order on then told me that she wrote down what we ordered was the noodles and it was not wrong. So I asked to see the menu so I could point out exactly what I showed her when I ordered - but I was starting getting very upset that she wanted to argue with us. She picked up the plates of food and headed back into the kitchen and started yelling/screaming in another language that I did not understand. I have never felt so uncomfortable - everyone in the restaurant could hear her. So at this point I was wondering if our replacement food would be eatable. So as to not cause a scene We chose to ask for to-go boxes and paid for our meals and left. I doubt we will ever go back - I would have thought a manager might come out after the screaming in the kitchen to possibly apologize but we paid and left with no interaction with anyone other than the original waiter who wanted to argue with us. if your going to work with the public, you need to be sure you understand and repeat what is being ordered by the customer. I can hope something was learned n their end but I am pretty sure they didn't really care about us or care that whether we return or not.

Yelp
Ok... A caviat on this review, I only get 1 type of food here when I go, and that is "sushi" so this review is based on their sushi and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant, cleanliness etc. So let's start with the Sushi. Hands down the best sushi I have ever had in Utah... it's awesome! They have so many different types of rolls and cuts of sushi it's a treat every time we go! The price is unbeatable as well! Every once in a while we will get their tempura vegetables with the sushi and they are also amazing! Most places will try to season the taste right out of the veggie, but not here, They will not disappoint. You can tell they use fresh veggies and they literally cook them to perfection! So good! They allow the natural flavor of the vegetable to show itself and I really don't know how they do it, just that it's good! I like the restaurant area, You can comfortably sit 4-5 families pretty easily and there's tables and chairs around for those who don't like booths... it's always clean, whether you pick up or dine in they are pretty good about orders. There is a bit of a language barrier sometimes so you have to make sure they understand your order, and I've seen them make it right , even to the rude customers who don't deserve to be treated nicely! Great place, great atmosphere! Great sushi! Love it!

Yelp
Red 8 Asian Bistro I have really enjoyed trying the different menu items at the Asian Bistro. This was the very first place that I tried sushi and I was hooked. Now that I have tried sushi, I would not say that they have the VERY best sushi, but if you want a quick dinner and aren't a sushi "snob" then this place will fit your needs. My favorite part of the menu is the Bento Box. It comes with the entree of your choice and also includes, salad, soup, sushi, rice, and tempera. I was not a huge fan of the soup but I really enjoyed everything else in the box. A ton of food for a really good price. The service is not the best, and you have to be really really clear about what you want, or it is easy for your order to be messed up. So overall, pretty OK!:)
google avatar

Charri T.

Yelp
Ordered takeout via their website. I showed up on time at 5:30 and the meal was hot and ready for me. The staff were great and had placed everything in a box so I could carry it all out of the door. The food was also delicious. I'll definitely be coming back.
google avatar

Missy H.

Yelp
The restaurant has potential. Food is good. However, do not inconvenience the staff by any means when you ask for a refill or a napkin. They pretend to not hear and or just do not care. Would not recommend eating here. Staff is very cold and do not appear to enjoy their work or their customers.

Alan H.

Yelp
My wife and I like good Chinese food. We've tried everything from old cafes from the 50s (like Springville) to excellent Chinese cuisine at Joy Luck in Sandy Utah. Of the half dozen Chinese restaurants in Utah County we've tried this is the best. Having lived in Japan it might surprising that I'm not a big sushi eater and I cannot comment on their sushi bar. But their Chinese (and Japanese) dishes are very good. I have not been disappointed. You'll find a few standard Chinese dishes you'll be familiar with, but give the Shanghai noodles a try. They are definitely a winter dish, and don't ask them to spice it up, its plenty spicy as is. Pad Thai is very good. And again, some standard Chinese dishes you're probably fond of are well done here. If you want great though, you'll have to drive to Salt Lake county.

Yelp
I've gone there twice in the last week. The food is good for sushi is OK. Some of the fish inseam is precious I like it. The texture is little funky on a few the sushi rolls. The first time we came with a group of four I would've given it a little higher score than the lunch I had today. Communication service is a little bit spotty, but it has been open only a couple of weeks. "Each time we eat here it isn't as good as the last", My wife pointed out, as she sent her uneaten bland Thai dish back to the kitchen . And I'd have to agree. We broke down and given this place another try...it is inconstant in its quality . Sometimes it's good and other times iffy. Today was not a high point in our experience at this place...I feel a bit off ever since eating here. So, this will mark last trip to our only Asian outpost in the spanish fork. We attempted to give this place another try....we only entered a few feet into this nearly empty place and our noses were assaulted by a strong smell of very old, over-used oil! My wife and I immediately made eye contact as we turned and exited.

Yelp
I heard mixed reviews about this place and decided I need to come try it for myself. I Ordered the tropic roll and the valentine roll. Both were absolutely delicious. My husband ordered the sashimi and tropic roll loved it! He said his Yellowtail, smoked salmon and tuna were all very fresh and worth coming back for. The service was quick and friendly. Price was right. We will definitely be coming back!

Mark W.

Yelp
I like the food here it's not top shelf but for Spanish Fork the closest sushi option. The Rock Star roll is my favorite. However service is always slow and sometimes you just stand at the door for so long you ask yourself why did I come back??? Usually after you order the food it comes quick it's just the table service seems poor... The food options are quite vast and I keep coming back, really just wish they could get a couple more servers to clean the tables quicker and get you sat more reasonably

Yelp
Gross. Overpriced. Will continuously run your card putting over 100 dollars of funds on hold

Yelp
Living close to sources of fresh fish, I have become somewhat hard to please when it comes to sushi- I typically stick to sashimi and sushi with the occasional minimalist roll. I tend to not like overly complicated rolls that throw a lot of strong flavors- some places use that to disguise lower quality fish and rice. So looking for sushi while visiting relatives in Utah after being on the East Coast for 13 years had me a little wary... That being said, I was massively satisfied with Red 8- my daughter and I split a few rolls and some sashimi and were so happy with the quality and flavor! The salmon was a great flavor on its own, eel was awesome, spicy tuna was just right so you could still taste the tuna. I was pleasantly surprised with the Christmas roll- the mango and light crab salad on top were so good with the tempura shrimp- and that's coming from someone who typically doesn't like more than 2-3 ingredients in the roll! Price for the portion size seemed very reasonable to me - granted I am comparing to Connecticut prices (up there with California and New York on cost of living). All in all, amazing meal, great food- highly recommend!

Yelp
I am rating the Chinese food. Lunch time. I am not a big suschi person, so if I tried it I could not give you a good review. We went for chinese at lunch, grabbed something off the menu. I have tried three to four things now. I love that this place is soooo clean. I really hate to go eat at good places, and corners are kind of scummy, or benches and dirty. My only downside is a few of the items we ordered were just too strong. Orange chicken is very orangy. A bit more than I am used to, and the mushrooms were kind of a canned thing, and a bit drippy in the sauce. More like swimming. However nothing was so bad to make me not want to come back. People were nice, the place is nice. Just a good solid place. Pros: Food, people, clean Cons: sometimes a bit too much sauce on the food.

Kristen C.

Yelp
This restaurant does not make their food fresh - I know because they told me. Their spring rolls are oily & soggy. Their chicken is over cooked. Their rice is dry & unflavorable. On top of that they have horrible customer service! If I could give ZERO STARS, I would.
