"On a busy corner of Fruitvale sits the headquarters of Red Bay Coffee, Oakland’s Black-owned coffee company with a social justice ethos. The space is open, airy, and industrial, with lots of places to sit and work. On weekends, it often transforms into a lively community events space. Go for unique offerings like the charcoal or candied yam lattes." - Dianne de Guzman

Red Bay Coffee’s Massive New Oakland Space Brings Coffee to the People - Eater SF

"The airy, modern space offers seasonal lattes, African hand pies, and a blueprint for other Black-owned businesses to follow suit. On the plum-colored linoleum coffee bar is a pourover coffee station, which Konte built himself. The cafe’s second and third floor are reserved for Red Bay’s many behind-the-scenes and post-covid projects." - Elazar Sontag

I'm on a mission to visit all the Red Bay Coffee locations! I'm all about supporting Black-owned, so I love that there are plenty of locations to choose from. My first visit was the Roastery (which you can not order drinks from 😅), then I went to the one on Grand, making Headquarters my 3rd stop. I'm here pretty late, so it's nice and quiet, I love how spacious it is. They could probably fit more seating in here, but I'm sure it's good to keep it from getting too crowded. There are plenty of outlets, so it's a good space to work as well. I tried the Saigon latte, which has condensed milk, and it's delicious 😋 Since I'm late, there were only cookies left, so I didn't try any food here. They do have some merch in addition to beans though so I'm tempted to come back for it!

Great mocha. They use dark chocolate.

Visiting the area and wanted to give Red Bay a try! I was greeted warmly with a smile. Great coffee, we enjoyed a delicious cappuccino and a hot chai latte. The coffee cake was moist and delicious. Just the right treat. Will definitely be back to enjoy the space. Had to get on the road but the cafe is very inviting!

Google
Dog friendly cafe, it's interior is pretty neat, simple and clean vibes, the staff was attentive and service was pretty quick but probably because it was a quiet day. There probably won't be seats open if there is more than 20 people in there. The location is so so and parking can be hard to find, it mainly street parking and on international it's paid street parking. They also don't accept cash understandable for the location, so make sure you have card. Will be open to check it out again , had the Saigon latte it was minimal coffee and tasted mainly like sweet foamy.milk. they have limited pastry options.

I would like to give a special shoutout to Victor who gave me breakfast when I had nothing after I got rained on, robbed and was left stranded under a bridge with no tarp on a rainy day. Victory came to me today in the form of two coffees for me and a homeless friend and it was on victors dime. Please bless this restaurant by buying food and throw in a big tip for Victor the guy with the circle glasses while you are here. This man blessed a man who really needed it today o it of his own pocket and I pray others reward him when all I could give is this review. God bless Red Bay Coffee!

Google
I love the candied yam latte! It's a nice change from all the pumpkin spice that's out there in the fall. It's not too sweet and there are actual bits of yam in it. There's no outdoor seating here, but the ceilings are high and there are lots of indoor seating options.

After drinking their coffee from Whole Foods and seeing their coffee being used at Shake Shack, I thought it was finally time to check out Red Bay Coffee Roasters. We first went to their Roasting location, but it was closed for lunch. Luckily, the HQ is open during the Roasting location's lunch time and only a 4 minute drive away. Online, their charcoal latte seems to be their most popular drink. We ended up getting their charcoal latte and a Vietnamese Cold brew. I got to say, the charcoal latte was definitely unique. I expected it to be chalky, but it was pleasant and mellow. I would not suggest it if you're on a date since it will leave your tongue black for a bit. The Vietnamese cold brew was decent, but definitely not like a slow-drip viet coffee. The location itself is beautiful with many plants, unique gifts, and just an overall great ambiance. The neighborhood itself is littered with "San Francisco sand" (broken glass from cars). Definitely a place I would only visit during the daytime. Overall, a great experience and would come again!

Google
It's a you had to be there kind of moment. An African-American coffee house going head to keep with the coveted Pumpkin Spice Latte. The coffee house has always produced top quality dark roast, so this seems like a huge opportunity derived from culture, the Candied Yam Latte. It has that same silky texture as its more famous brethren, but it doesn't seem to be overly sweet over the duration of the drink, which I prefer. It felt more balanced. If you enjoy coffee, now is a limited time to make a visit for a Fall Classic.

Yelp
I've been here so many times now and I am so obsessed with their iced canela latte with oat milk and also their pistachio raspberry croissant!!! Canela is their cinnamon syrup and its so good. I usually come before 8am and theres usually one worker at that time so service can be slow. But when theres two people they're super quick! Heads up, they only have street parking and it fills up fast so plan ahead!

Yelp
Discovered Red Bay Coffee a week ago. walked into the Manufacturing plant and got great experience with the history of the coffee, we were directed to the shop two blocks up! Wow the cafe was amazing! The gorgeous cafe was huge and the whole vibe was so native to the Oakland I grew up in! The service was great! I purchased 2 bags of coffee beans, can't wait to grind them!
google avatar

Eric S.

Yelp
Turned away 10 minutes before closing. Barista would not make a hot beverage. She offered cold brew. And she was a little too happy to tell me. She wasn't sorry at all. At least fake it. The place was empty.

Yelp
My son loves coffee so I went in to get him a bag of coffee beans for his birthday present. I decided to order a decaf Vanilla Bean Latte and it did not disappoint. Just a great flavor, right temperature, and lovely presentation wrapped up in cup. Love it! I love the decor, the place has an incredible vibe, and excellent service. I'm not much of a coffee drinker but when I do, I buy from Red Bay.

Yelp
Honestly, I would love to love this place. It's right near my office. I frequent it because of that. I come in and feel like everyone hates their job. Today, I came in and ordered a vanilla latte. She charged me for a large, without asking what size I wanted. I was standing around perusing whatever on my phone. I just happened to glance up and saw a hot drink ready. I had to ask if it was mine. They didn't even announce it was ready like they usually do. I dunno if it was just today, but something was really off.

John G.

Yelp
Coffee was fine, but truly unfriendly and terrible customer service provided by a young moustached miserable dude. Perhaps he was having a bad day but his scowl towards anyone who dared to ask him for a coffee was truly next level. I would never go back there.
google avatar

David H.

Yelp
Cool local vibe. Good spot to do some work, catch up with friends and enjoy some caffeine. Staff were efficient and service was friendly. The cappuccino had good flavor and artwork. Give this place a shot.
google avatar

Bridget O.

Yelp
Went for a mental health break and happened upon the coffee shop. Inside was a soft promotion for The Big Cigar premiere. I would definitely come back to spend more time in this space. It's well lit, very friendly stuff and extremely clean. I treated myself to an almond milk latte and a chocolate chip cookie. Both were satisfyingly delicious.
google avatar

Yelp
Here's a review that reflects your experience: Disappointing Experience - Terrible Service! I came here this morning hoping to grab some coffee before heading to work. The place was supposed to open at 7:30 AM, but when I arrived at 8:00 AM, the doors were open but nothing was set up. No coffee brewed, no pastries out, and the staff seemed completely unprepared. I waited for almost 40 minutes, and when I finally asked about it, the staff casually told me they had "just opened." It's incredibly frustrating to be told one thing and experience the complete opposite. If you're going to advertise an opening time, at least be ready to serve customers on time. I won't be coming back.

Yelp
Coffee is soooo good and pastries are on par. I had an oat latte and an everything bagel seasoned pastry and both were so good. Going back to try more for sure!

Emunah E.

Yelp
It's a very sad day for me, I was arriving to purchase my favorite "the matcha latte," when I saw a political banner with a disgusting curse word displayed infront of the business. Shame on you! I will not be coming back and i will take my business elsewhere. Why not put up a display of your wonderful products instead? I'm so tired of businesses putting up political signs, people go out to enjoy themselves and forget about the chaos in the world not to be reminded of it!

Yelp
I'm an every day regular. This is my go to local coffee shop. Consistently good, never been disappointed. The baristas are cool and chill (maybe sometimes too chill but I love them lol). Only drawback is the mobile app will still let you order even if they've closed unexpectedly. So I've paid and driven over only to find it closed
google avatar

Sara S.

Yelp
I really liked the vibe in here - I felt like i was in Mexico ; beautiful latin songs and gorgeous luscious plants ; good coffee and nice company. If this coffee place was near where i live, I would be back.
google avatar

Alice X.

Yelp
Only thing I had here was the oat charcoal latte and I wished there was disclaimer that said if ordering the charcoal latte please be aware that your stool will be black. I didn't know and I was freaked out because I totally forgot that I had the charcoal latte! The charcoal latte itself was ok, it tasted really nutty and sorta chunky. It's not my thing but I'm sure there's something else on their menu that I would order next time. The coffee shop was really modern looking and I saw lots of people on their computers. Maybe they are working remotely? The barista was super nice and perky. Love it! Parking can be kinda hard to find....
google avatar

Lisa S.

Yelp
Never been to their actual HQ instead I always have gone to the other smaller location with the gardens. Nice change and visit here. HQ is super big with a huge selection of coffee bags ready to go and coffee orders/menu. I came in and got some beans and a late to go. My fave here has prolly been the charcoal late. It's so good and flavorful! I just cant get enough at all. My go to drink here. I never get a chance to get there early enough to get the pastries and they almost always sell out too ): Service is great and I enjoy coming into any of their locations.
google avatar

Brianna R.

Yelp
This location was smaller than I expected, but I could still finding seating for 2 on a Friday afternoon. Good drinks, as always. I got a turmeric latte (anti-inflammatory!) with oat milk this time. I should have sized up, it was delicious. Good music, too. It can get a bit loud, but headphones help if you need to zone out and work. I saw they're opening an Inglewood location now, so I will definitely be there.

Yelp
I have been to the red bay location in Sf.. this location in Oakland is nice .. metered parking Wasn't bad for a week day..I have always wanted to try the charcoal latte .. omg I was not disappointed it was sooooo good I can't wait to come back and have another. This place has a good vibe it's so nice inside. Lots of light from the big windows . The have a nice countertop where u can sit in at the window and a work space area with plants.. I would recommend trying the charcoal latte and I picked up a non dairy creamer.. the creamer was ok I tried it in iced coffee I'll try it again in warm coffee .I felt so welcomed not rushed the staff was amazing helping me decide what coffee I wanted to try. Everyone was patient and kind. Even let me sample one of the coffees

Yelp
Cute and spacious has lots of room for you to hang out and drink coffee talk with friends and even get a little work done because there are multiple electrical outlets 5/5 Charcoal latte- 4.5/5 is my favorite got it with oat milk hot gives you a nutty, earthy taste I always say I'm going to try a different flavor but never can All the girls in there was friendly and welcoming the girl at the front you can tell her is fairly new, but the other girls were super helpful and very friendly quiche-5/5 it was bomb it had egg squash, and mushroom don't know what else, but the Outside was very flaky, but a good flaky, but inside was warm. It was just a perfect combination.
google avatar

Sherri W.

Yelp
My 2nd visit & had the Charcoal Latte hot, it definitely had less of a nutty texture to it & I almost wasn't going to drop by had I not found parking. If I visit again, I'll try ordering the Charcoal Latte Iced.

Yelp
I come here at least once a week or even more since they opened. I love the coffee, the areas to sit and relax or work when I need to get out of the house, and the baristas! Sometimes there are slower days but there are more good times there than not. I'm so very grateful for this coffee shop and community spot. My husband and I have our regular drinks but we have tried most all of the menu and seasonal items. Specialty drinks that I love is the canela latte when they have it. My dog also loves it when I'm able to get him there cause he knows he always gets a treat! Same as us.

Yelp
1st Time visiting this cafe for a weekend morning brew. My boyfriend and I ordered the hot chai latte, hot Vietnamese brew with oat milk, and the iced charcoal latte with oat milk. The place inside was decorated with cascading pothos and other plants throughout shelving on the walls which gave it that earthy vibe with a modern black and wood look in the high ceiling architecture. The Iced charcoal latte was pretty good and so was the chai. I wish the charcoal was a bit sweeter. Vietnamese latte was sweet but love the coffee flavor. Didn't get pastries this time around but will be back to try. Staff were patient, friendly, and great at giving recommendations.

Yelp
Went here when they first opened It was spot on. Went today Mel was awesome She was making the drinks. Charcoal oat latte was way too sweet and not warm. I returned it she was apologetic and remade it spot on. The other female employee was working the register was not so Much. She did not give the drip coffees as she should of and then gave a cranky response when she was asked. Bathroom was not clean. I will not be returning.

Josue F.

Yelp
UPDATE*** The employee walked over to address my concerns. I really appreciate her approach. I will definitely come back. The overall place is great and I'm relieved they made good (in the same visit), really shows they take feedback serious, thank you again! ============= Love the layout. The menu looks great IF they will make the drink. I try order a Vietnamese cold brew the guy said it will take 15mins I was willing to wait, he kept emphasizing how it would take a while... OK so I guess I can't have it. Then I ordered cold brew, they didn't have any...(it's a coffee shop, but OK). Ended up getting a basic drip coffee and the girl wasn't that much better either. Customer service gets 1 star.

Yelp
Delicious coffee and a bright sunny location . Great spot for hanging out or meeting a group of friends

Yelp
I'd been curious about this building over the years of coming home from Los Angeles. Born and raised in Oakland. Spent much of my time in this area for the Hispanic food and bakery on my way to and from the BART. This area has gone through significant changes and this building was no exception. It was a bank for many years then closed. So it was a Yelp event that brought me here and I'm glad attended. I researched the business on line and was excited to see they had coffee bags. Sadly they didn't have when I went for complimentary two coffees. Always like to support a business when I attend a free giveaway event. I got a free 12oz coffee and the charcoal latte, which they made with almond milk no charge either. I was on my work break, so couldn't sit but I loved the open space. The drink menu is also different so I will definitely be back. They also have a little area for gifts with support local business. I think they are also black owned business's just like Red Bay. They also have some food items and other cute things. Which I'll be back for as well. Staff is friendly and made my free charcoal latte with care and a cute heart on it. I know charcoal has benefits, but never thought of it in coffee. It was so good. I also got the free 12oz coffee for my coworker so liked it. This is definitely a local coffe shop I'll be frequenting.

Yelp
I'm a huge fan of Red Bay Coffee and try to come here whenever I can! It's a nice way to try something different when you're looking to spice things up and don't want your typical Starbucks drink. My personal favorites are the charcoal latte ($6) and Vietnamese cold brew ($5). They taste pretty good and get the job done - great kick of caffeine and not too sweet either! As for the charcoal drink, don't let its looks fool you - it's very flavorful and I'd say it tastes a bit like vanilla with a subtle grittiness. As for the price, the drinks are a bit on the pricier side, especially when you adjust the milk, so if you're looking for something cheap, this is not the place to go but I do I think it's worth checking out because of the unique flavors and combinations. The place also has huge ceilings and ample room to sit and relax, so a great place to just chill with your cup of coffee! Taking down one star simply because the parking isn't that great (street parking only) and you might need to circle around a few times to find a spot.
google avatar

Maritza N.

Yelp
My go-to orders are Vietnamese cold brew when it's hot and Saigon latte when it's cold! Love the strong coffee flavor, wasn't too sweet which I liked. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The space is really nice and bright, seems to be a great place to get work done. They have locations in Oakland and SF. The price is a bit high for coffee, but I like supporting local businesses. Def check them out if you want to support a local business and drink good coffee!

Juliana P.

Yelp
Vanilla bean latte was delicious. Got it half sweet and is was still sweet enough. 10/10

Evelin S.

Yelp
My mom and I have been wanting to try this coffee shop for a while now but unfortunately we did not have good first impressions and will not be coming here again. The barista was very dismissive and not welcoming at all. Inside it's very pretty but the vibe is so off. I also kinda found it odd that they don't put lids on their iced lattes and it almost spilled on the way to get the lid. The barista also looked very bored and sorta annoyed that we didn't know that we had to get our straw and lids ourselves since it's not really in sight. Do not come here if you get a little anxious trying new spots, honestly we're so sad that it was a let down.
google avatar

Yelp
I love this spot and came when I went to Day of the Dead in Fruitvale. We ordered a coffee (a mocha for me) and boy was it good! If this were here when my hubs and I lived in the area, I would have gone here for sure! It's the artisan, independent, coffee spot of my dreams, in a place that has a ton of history, yet isn't so fancy. We deserve fancy in our own neighborhoods and I appreciate the commitment. My husband, who started living in that area told me of the history of that place, once a bank, a shoe store, an EDD office and more! We ate inside on a couple of cute chairs that were comfy, yet a bit hard to get out of - age? out of shape? weight gain during a pandemic? But not a deal breaker. We just sat and lounged a bit longer (five minutes or so). But the coffee!!! When in the area - Go! Get! Yours!
google avatar

Anna C.

Yelp
Was in the area and saw some pretty good reviews so decided to give it a try. Got the Charcoal Latte and Vanilla latte and it was way too sweet, almost can't taste the coffee at all and all syrup :( The staff was nice though but not sure I would come back
google avatar

Mimi L.

Yelp
Great drinks, great pastries, and great energy from the workers! Got the vanilla latte, a regular latte, charcoal latte, blueberry muffin, and cinnamon roll. Everything tasted great and it's the perfect spot to sit down and get work done (they offer free wifi) or to chat with some friends. I did notice there was an upstairs with seating, but we weren't allowed to venture up there. I don't usually come to Oakland, but if I'm passing through again or in the area I'd definitely visit this place again. Was excited to try their quiches that I saw on Yelp, but sadly they didn't have any on my visit. Parking in this area can be a little tough, so keep that in mind!
google avatar

Razaa A.

Yelp
Red Bay is hands down my favorite coffee spot in the Bay. Always super professional and pleasant personalities working, it's always clean, and the coffee/all other offerings are always top notch. I had the privilege to go to another Red Bay Coffee event at the other location a while back and was so glad I got to go to the new location. The new location is amazing. There's a ton of workspaces for anyone that wants to have a cup of coffee with a snack and get some work done. They even had an upstairs area. Not to mention, my favorite Mexican spot is down the street. It was the perfect day to enjoy my coffee and then head over to my go-to Mexican spot for lunch. Red Bay always shows mad love, and the Charcoal Latte with Oatmilk hit the spot! I found parking right around the corner for free--within 1-2 mins walk. Check them out if you haven't yet!

Yelp
Red Bay Coffee opens in what was Fruitvale Mart before it's closure. This historical building has been restored for residents and visitors to admire. the ground floor has a several seating areas, and a coffee service area where pastries and covfefe are available. brew: lg cup medium brew covfefe(3) -smooth medium roast covfefe very sippable. -quick, friendly service. only noticed street parking.

Yelp
This is my second visit to this Red Bay location. Today, I used their mobile order feature which was great except for the requirement that you spend a minimum of $10. I tried out the mobile order feature because last time it took a little while to get my drinks. This time, they were ready a few minutes before the scheduled pick up time which was very convenient. I also liked that I was able to park in the loading area on the street to run in really quickly. Today there was an issue with cups so my iced drinks were in hot coffee cups (the drink photo I posted is from a previous visit). My sister and I both got 16oz iced charcoal lattes with oat milk. They tasted great as usual but there was quite a bit of ice in them (I had ordered them with light ice). My interaction with staff was limited to the pick up window/counter. The staff member there didn't seem like she was in the best mood. While trying to pick up my drinks two women were adjusting their drinks at the small pick up window area at the counter (which you shouldn't be allowed to do) and then they dropped/spilled their drinks on to the floor... the drink got on my dress... No one, not the women nor staff seemed to care at all. I had to ask for napkins to clean my self up. It of course isn't Red Bay's fault that these women spilled but it would've been nice if someone cared, at least to say sorry, sympathize or check on the customers nearby the spill. Still giving four stars because I want to believe this was a fluke and isn't the standard since previously despite being a little slow to receive the drinks, the service was outstanding and with a smile.

Yelp
In this house we love & appreciate Red Bay Coffee I've been a fan of Red Bay Coffee since a coworker recommended them to me earlier this year. I have tried their Motherland, Brazilian Cake Lady, East Fourteenth and Carver's Dream beans, but like East Fourteenth the most (really great in the French press). Today was the first time I've visited one of their cafe locations, as a part of Yelp Elite Week. The space is lovely! Retail selection is great: In addition to their coffee beans, they also have a fun selection of artisan snacks for sale. I stopped by a little before the lunch hour on a Wednesday. There was a steady line of customers but the friendly employees did a great job getting orders out. I enjoyed my matcha latte (I was pleasantly surprised that they use a specialized whisk set to prepare it). The company seems to value quality. Parallel parking on the street can be a little tricky, so I parked in the Wendy's lot across the street (grabbed something for lunch there on my way back). Since I live in San Leandro it's a little too out of my way to be a regular at this location, but I'll continue ordering beans for delivery for my home brewing set-up. Red Bay is the real deal!

Yelp
This place has such a cool vibe! I totally recommend, if in the area, get your daily drink, warm, hot or cold from here! My iced coffee with oatmilk was delicious. The barista was friendly, efficient, helpful & informative! Look forward to popping in this place whenever I'm in the fruitvale vicinity! Cheers Red Bay :)

Yelp
Continuing my love of coffee and trying new places in the Bay or places I have not been to for a while. This place just opened a few weeks ago. I've always been a big fan of their charcoal latte from the other locations. It's inside a former bank like building and is Huge! Love how airy it is, the cool oasis vibe inside of the busy Fruitvale neighborhood in Oakland. Lots of places to sit inside and enjoy the day. Espresso- very good Vietnamese iced coffee- could be a little more sweet in my opinion Matcha latte- watche the barista whip the fresh batch of matcha for it. Get it! Delicious! Very reasonable prices. Excellent and friendly service. Masks and sanitizers. Street parking can be a little difficult. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Great coffee served by the nicest people ever. Their drinks, beans, and service are always phenomenal. There was one time when I was trying to order a dirty chai latte and the cashier said, "Well we are out of chai but if you can wait about fifteen minutes I can ride my bike to our other location, pick some up, and come back to make it." I told him not to because it really wasn't a big deal at all and that I would just order something else. He then said to order whatever I wanted as a replacement and he would only charge me for the cost of the chai. Talk about excellent customer service? Like sir were you poached from Trader Joe's or what? He was the nicest barista I've ever had in the Bay. Protect these people at all costs!

Yelp
Yummy coffee! Always a pleasant atmosphere! Service is also always efficient and kind! What's missing, some GF pastries. Otherwise, love their locations.

Dana ..

Yelp
Coffee is good... but I wish the staff would've said something about the WiFi being down before setting up my computer. if you're needing reliable WiFi to work, this doesn't seem to be the place.

Yelp
Just recently discovered Red Bay Coffee and this has become my pit stop before going to work. It has a nice crisp interior, lined with foliage here and there. Coffee is amazing! I recommend their charcoal latte, hot or cold is fine. Oat milk adds a little ooomph to it too. Their crossaint, buttery and toasty! They also sell coffee beans, I've tried East 14th and it didn't disappoint. Staff are friendly and productive. Music playlist adds to the vibe too. I'll be back again, tomorrow and the next.

Yelp
The charcoal latte was really good! I was initially very skeptical but was happily surprised. The charcoal flavor was subtle, and so was a vanilla flavor that made it similar to a vanilla latte. The service was great, everyone was friendly. Unfortunately, the drink took a very long time to be made. There was only 1 order before mine but I somehow ended up waiting 15mins. They seemed well staffed which begs me to wonder why the long wait? The cinnamon roll was sweet and sticky, but a bit hard. I wish it could have been heated up. I also wish there were more food options. I was looking forward to having a quiche but noticed they were sold out.

Yelp
Shout out to the responsible Barista with the locs and great energy. You really made my day suggesting the canela latte. The place has great energy and I feel so at peace anytime I come in there. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Ive been meaning to try Red Bay's Charcoal latte because I've been seeing it all over Instagram and I'm glad I finally got a chance to try it with oat milk! It a has good amount of sweetness and the oat milk helps make it more creamy. I really enjoyed it and so did my dad. Just be prepared to have stained teeth and a dark tongue after you drink it-- it's helpful that we're still wearing masks! Located on the Fruitvale area off of International, it's a pretty busy area so street parking can be a little difficult. You might have to park along the neighboring streets or drive around. I believe this place used to be a bank but they really did set it up so nicely, a perfect place for a meeting, work remotely, or to just chill at a nice hip coffee shop. The staff are super friendly too! I'd definitely come back here if I'm in the area for a little pick me up! I think dogs are allowed inside and the lighting is also really good!

Yelp
Love the coffee and love this spot. Hard to rate it though when I stop by at 745 to a locked door and no one home when it's supposed to be open at 730.

Yelp
The baristas attitude sucked. We couldn't understand what he was saying (he talks too fast). He apparently asked 'what type of milk do you prefer?', when we said 'sorry can you say that again', the guy literally spelled out every word for us in an insulting tone. The coffee was average. We are not going back here for sure! Fix your attitude guys.

Yelp
Having been to their SF Ferry Building location, I finally had the chance to check out their new headquarters retail location on International Blvd and Fruitvale Ave located a block from the Fruitvale BART station. The building is grand with pillars on both sides with is the words "Beautiful Coffee to the People" emblazoned on top. The inside is large and airy with high ceilings. Seating is along the window, open area in back and on the second level, which overlooks the first floor. The last couple visits I've been getting their bakery items, which I found out come from Firebrand Artisan Breads on Broadway in Uptown. I had the croissants, blueberry muffins, blueberry scone, chocolate chip cookie, double chocolate chip cookie and the mushroom and potato quiche. They bakery items are so good and the quiche is so delicious. I'll glad Red Bay carries Firebrand bakery products and it saves me a trip to Uptown. Glad to support a local business whose goal is to hire and serve people of all backgrounds while striving to be diverse and inclusive of those who have traditionally been left out of the specialty coffee industry, especially people of color, the formerly incarcerated, women and people with disabilities. The workers are friendly too.
