We had previously eaten a fantastic meal at their 8th street location (although it is currently under renovation) so while downtown for the Van Gogh exhibit, we saw there was a second location and booked a reservation. Good plan! The decor and atmosphere was much more upscale then their 8th street had been, so I can't wait to check out the new updates when the renovations are complete. So I would've given them five stars, except the $18.95 appetizer was a disappointment. The grilled octopus was not a large portion nor particularly different in any way. The description said served with mashed potato enriched with sausage, tomato chunks, capers and truffle oil. Perhaps it was all puréed together, which would do them no favors, because I noticed no sausage, no tomato chunks, no capers, and no drizzle of truffle oil to complete the effort. I would definitely skip this. So I actually wanted to try the "unrivaled" pumpkin ravioli, but the waitress steered me towards a broccoli and sausage ravioli or the veal osso bucco ravioli, and I went with the first option after she said it was her favorite. It was a bit spicy, but I had been warned, and it was delish and had a nice presentation. My husband had the black squid spaghetti with shrimp, calamari, clams and mussels. He kept raving about it. So if downtown, check them out.
