10 Classic, Old-School BurgerJoints In Seattle, Ranked

"Another charbroiled staple, Red Mill has been kicking since 1937—making it older than velcro, kitty litter, and Sir Ian McKellen. Both locations are reliable for a stacked sandwich alongside fantastic onion rings, cornmeal-crusted and submerged in smoky-sweet Mill Sauce. Also, don’t ignore the honey lemon-marinated grilled chicken sandwiches." - aimee rizzo, kayla sager riley

The Best Burgers In Seattle

"Red Mill is not where to go to get a fancy bison burger with gruyere on an artisan bun. It’s where to go to get a diner-style charbroiled patty, a paper tray full of cornmeal-dusted onion rings dive-bombed into a side of fry sauce, and a serious milkshake in flavors like s’mores or mint truffle. You’re not coming here for the ambiance, either—you’re coming here to spread out at a fire-engine-red picnic table while blissfully eating burgers. It's perfect for lunch after a hike or an afternoon strolling around Phinney Ridge." - aimee rizzo, kayla sager riley

Where to Find the Best Halal Restaurants in Seattle | Eater Seattle

"Nestled in a shopping center next to a produce market’s sea of vegetables, these flame-broiled halal beef burgers on sesame seed buns are not to be missed. Red Mill Totem House – Seattle, Washington - Gastro Obscura

"When 71-year old Totem House Seafood and Chowder was forced to close up shop in 2010 due to unfortunate economic circumstances, heart-broken regulars feared the worst for the historic, totem-clad building. Would it be torn down to make way for more condominiums? Transformed into something entirely unrecognizable?  Locals were able to breathe a communal sigh of relief when Red Mill Burger owners John and Babe Shepherd stepped up and announced plans to restore the beloved building and open their third location, this one featuring the addition of their first fish fry in homage to the original Totem House. Built in 1939 as a site for the selling of Native American crafts and artifacts, the iconic building re-opened as a restaurant in 1945 following a temporary period of closure during World War II.  With elaborate, brightly colored tribal decor and a giant Native American totem pole out front, the Totem House was a landmark building for the neighborhood of Ballard.  In many families, Totem House Seafood and Chowder was a required stop for generations of visits to the nearby Hiram M. Chittenden Locks. Red Mill has done a marvelous job of preserving the building and repairing the wear and tear that decades of rainy Seattle winters had caused.  The signature totem pole has been immaculately restored to its former glory by expert totem carver Greg Colax of the Washington Macah tribe,  and the Totem House miraculously hasn’t lost any of its kitschy Pacific Northwest charms. None" - l lemkeryan, Kdub77, Aty Trocious, meganmichelle, M Martin, Martin, Blindcolour, Rachel, K Kdub77

Google
Disappointed. The burger patty (pictured) was one of the thinnest I’ve eaten and yet it was raw in the middle and all the way around. I’ve had much better experiences at this location but the quality seems to have gone down significantly. It wasn’t busy at all (no line and very few ppl in the restaurant) so I’m surprised in the lack of service. The staff was polite and refunded my money but considering the potential threat of food borne illness that can occur when eating raw meat (esp ground beef) I probably won’t be back. Managers please continually educate your staff on proper food handling and cooking standards so that we, the public, don’t get sick! Nobody wants or deserves that.

Google
Red Mill is undeniably a Seattle staple, but I have to admit—it’s not my **go-to** burger spot. The weekend crowds guarantee a long wait, so we killed some time with a drink next door. When our food finally arrived, the **burger was a mixed bag**. The bread? **Dry and tough**, which was a letdown. Thankfully, the cheese and bacon **did some heavy lifting**, making the overall bite more enjoyable. While the price is reasonable for what you get, I’d argue there are better burgers out there. Now, let’s talk **fries**. Perfectly crispy, beautifully cooked! Dip those fries into their signature tartar sauce and you’re all set!

Google
You want an Amazing Burger at the price of fast food? Red Mill Burgers! Everything is hand made and Made to order just like you would do at home but better... Ordered the Double Bacon Deluxe with Cheese.. Eat half... And you have enough for another meal... Onion Rings are hand dipped....and perfect.

Google
This waz the best cheeseburger I've ever had in nearly 50 years on Earth. Wow I can't say enough about this establishment!! I'd never heard of this place seen it while riding past on a bus. If you are visiting Seattle you have to stop by and try this place out 🌟

Google
there are fast food chains with better burgers. The toppings were fresh and great, the burger was a weird almost-smash-burger-but-not quite thickness. Meat lacked flavor. The fries are incredibly okay. The onion rings looked good but I didn’t try them and for this price point, i won’t be back. Great staff. Good people & quick turnaround considering how packed it was.

Google
We ordered three Red Mill Deluxe burgers and added cheese. Fantastic burgers!! The fries were delicious as well. My son says this is his second favorite burger (#1 is Burger Stevens in Portland, OR) and gives this one a 4.5 out of five. Love the classic burger joint atmosphere and the giant stack of bacon that’s notoriously always ready by the grill. And the fresh real (!) banana shake is excellent! Very recommended!!

Google
The Best Burger I have had in Washington. Everything has a freshness about it that just makes burger a cut above the rest. I just got the basic burger with cheese and it didn’t disappoint.

Google
What can be said that hasn’t already? A Seattle classic. Come for the vibes and old style burger. Get the bacon burger and onion rings then end the meal with a shake.

Yelp
Great burgers!!! We get takeout every Thurs night after my son's class at the community center nearby. We always get superb service at this location. Two were exceptional, one was a female, wish I had gotten her name. I had ordered a milkshake before son's class bc it was so hot. I told her that I'd return afterwards to order the food. She remembered me and welcomed me back as I walked in. This past week, I received great service from Nate! So nice and pleasant, just awesome! I made sure to get his name. My husband was hooked on their Verde burger and ordered the same burger for over 10 years, but due to health reasons, he decided to reduce red meat and switched to Chicken Verde and he loves it! I like to switch it up, can't resist anything with their bacon. This past week, I tried their Chicken Club with bacon and OMG sooo good! My son loves their cheeseburger. We always get their crispy onion rings and their milkshakes, boysenberry is our favorite!

Yelp
The perfect sunny day lunch spot! My friends and I walked here after spending the morning at Woodland Park Zoo, and we were famished. Even though there was a long line to order, there was plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating since they shared a space with the brewery next door. It was a beautiful sunny day, so most of the indoor tables were empty and most of the outdoor seats were full! I got the verde burger with jalapeños and no lettuce, and my boyfriend got the verde veggie burger (side note: love that they have so many vegetarian options!). The jalapeños cut through the rich fattiness of the burger perfectly, and I'd definitely recommend adding them to your burger if you're on the fence. For sides, we ordered the onion rings (GIANT rings!) and the fried mushrooms (sooo crispy and well-battered). I thought the fried mushrooms were better than the onion rings, but my boyfriend thought of it the other way around, which only goes to show that both are very good and worth ordering! Can't wait to come back and try some of the other burgers on their menu!!

Yelp
Nostalgic diner / burger spot! They have fresh burgers, milkshakes, and fries--what else do you need? It felt like a blast from the past. This little spot was filled with families and couples and friendly waiters, and it was serene. They have a variety of seasonal milkshakes, crispy fries, and great burgers (including veggie options!) It's definitely a tinyyy bit on the pricey side, but if you're in town and craving a burger, I would make the trip!

Yelp
I'm literally salivating as I'm writing out this review and wishing I had another burger. If I want a restaurant quality and flavorful burger I'm come here. Got our burger and onion rings within 10 minutes of ordering at the counter. Small place and not a ton of seating, but it seems like most people are doing to-go orders. If you drive over, parking might be tricky.

Yelp
I've been coming here for years and just realized that I never reviewed this place. This establishment is one of the spots you should be sure to visit while in Seattle if you're a burger fan! I'd recommend eating there otherwise you could be dealing with a messy soggy burger. My go-to burger is the Verde Burger which includes roasted Anaheim peppers, but all the burgers are delicious. Skip the fried mushrooms and stick with the fries and onion rings. Wash everything down with a soda or milkshake..and then take an afternoon nap. This is a no frills burger placethat has some history in Seattle. Just good food at a reasonable price that will fill you up. Order at the counter and wait for your name/number to be called. There's some indoor seating along with picnic tables outside.

Yelp
Arriving at the Red Mill Burgers in Phinney Ridge/Green Lake about five minutes before opening today, Wednesday 16 August 2023, I was the third car in the parking lot. By the time the restaurant opened, there was a small line out front. Ordering was straightforward, and I had enough time to look over the menu and decide on what I wanted by the time it was my turn to place my order. While the interior of the restaurant was climate controlled, nice on a hot summer day, the music was loud for my ears, so I decided to order to-go. I went with a red onion jam burger, side of onion rings, and a white chocolate milkshake. There was a bar/counter for those of us who were waiting, with tall stools we could sit on. The wait was not too long and the food was hot. Workers I interacted with were friendly. For the burger, the flavors were more on the subtle side, the bun soft, patty juicy, and caramelized onions well tenderized. None of the components were overwhelming. While the onion rings were crispy and had thick onion slices, the flavor I found familiar. In finishing the rings, I identified the flavor as similar to focaccia bread. While I like focaccia bread, it was not quite the flavor I was expecting for onion rings. My third item, the white chocolate milkshake, was perfect. It was thick, cold, creamy, smooth and I could taste the white chocolate. The serving size was spot on.

Yelp
Zero complaints. This burger joint is the business !! The fries are exactly how fries should be and the meat is of the upmost quality. All the sides and extras are super delicious and fresh too. The bacon is incredible. I did the vegan patty once and wasn't disappointed at all but I definitely prefer the regular. My go-to is the double deluxe with cheese. Get some fries, tarter sauce and extra pickles too. You'll be in food paradise. Service is quick and friendly. Definitely going to be a returning customer. They have interior and exterior dining options, with heaters outside. Fun little tap house next door too. Grab your burger and then a beer. You can eat your burger in the tap house too.

Yelp
Good burgers. Good milkshakes. Didn't have gluten free buns though but was able to accommodate with lettuce wrap

Yelp
Red Mill is a truly classic Seattle burger joint. The original one opened in 1937 in Capitol Hill, the current Phinney Ridge location first opened in 1994. The wall art inside has a lot of local Seattle posters. It was also listed as one of the 20 hamburgers you must eat before you die in Oprah Show & GQ Magazine. The servers were very friendly and the service was very quick. I had the bacon deluxe burger which was amazing, with fresh ingredients. It can be pretty big and messy. I also tried the chocolate espresso milkshake which was like a chocolate shake with bits of espresso in it. Both of which came to about $20. Definitely worth visiting if you want to try a Seattle local burger.

Yelp
Salty as your brother's angry ex. This was practically a devastating experience. What could've a solid-ish burger ever, thanks to the wonderful bacon, turned out to be a saiine nightmare. Place is pretty small and divey,, but that's expected. Service was "organized." Parking was a veritable catastrophe.
google avatar

Yelp
Solid burger! There are hundreds of places to get a burger in Seattle and you can't go wrong by going to Red Mill. They're not going knock your socks off or anything by bringing anything unique to the table, but it's a classic burger joint that's been around forever (seriously look it up). Service was fast. Order at the kiosk and get your food in about 10 minutes. Theres about 10 tables in the restaurant and most people order to go. Ambiance is cool, kinda what you would expect from a tiny little burger joint. Burger: 4/5 Buns on point, fresh veggies, big boy burger. My only knock is that the patty didn't have the most flavor, probably will get with cheese next time. Fries: 4/5 Crisp tasty fries that go down well with some Coke.
google avatar

Yelp
Hot Damn! Best onion rings on planet earth and the burgers are always solid and worth the wait.

Yelp
My father in law is one of those stubborn old geezers who refuses to drink craft beer and thinks pretzel buns are dumb. He LOVED this place when he visited, snuck to it 3 times within the week he was here. Truly just a classic burger spot with the greasy bag of fries and all. A great place if you want just that. Also, they have lots of veggie burger options! Always recommend subbing for a impossible burger versus their house veggie burger for a more real experience. Great for take out, but can also eat there. Note: takeout is 50/50 because on busy days their website says you can only order over the phone, then when you call they say you have to come in person :-) thankfully if you're getting it to go the Interbay location usually isn't as busy and not far from the ridge, so you can order there instead. Next to a drink spot (ridgewood) so can go and grab a drink and wash it down with a good ol patty. Great views of both mountain ranges from the seating area!!! Hangover cure of the gods

Yelp
We'd heard about Red Mill on Reddit and were a bit skeptical about how good this place was since everyone raves about it, but let me tell you, it definitely deserves the hype! The burgers are quite big! The meat tastes fresh and is well seasoned. The fries are also quite big so you could definitely share an order of those. I ordered an Oreo shake as well, which was overkill haha, but it was delicious too! It had cookie chunks towards the bottom and had the perfect consistency -not super thick where you can't drink it and not super runny because it's melting. We got our food to go, and it traveled really well in the 15min drive. Check it out! Nothing beats a classic burger like theirs.

Yelp
Been wanting to come here for years since I saw it on the food network. Finally in Seattle with time so we made the trip. RMB did not disappoint! First, the staff is a friendly but well oiled machine. They know what they are doing and move people and food through quickly without rushing. Our party had 2 classic bacon cheeseburgers, a blue cheese burger, and a Verde burger, 2 fries, 2 onion rings, and 3 shakes. All really good! For Portland reference, they are kind of a combo between killer burger and Helvatia Tavern. I had the Verde burger with a double meat. Mild heat- just a great burger, not to spicy. The onion rings are house made, but ours were a little over fried, and some split in the fryer. The ones that weren't were excellent. A thicker ring for sure, but crunchy and good. Fries were really good, but nothing fancy. The milkshakes were all outstanding. I had the chocolate peanut butter. Tasted like a reeses peanut butter cup milkshake. Really good! Overall a great place. Definitely worth the drive!

Yelp
I dont review in general, and this is not meant to slander the business, but there was not one part of this meal that was enjoyable. Service, was busy but that's no excuse for the quality of the food when the bill was over $60.00 after the tip. The burgers were bland with soggy lettuce, and the buns were toasted to a dry cracker consistency, (we should have left at that point we were told that they were out of bacon). The onion rings were over batterered and burnt. While trying to eat them I found a hair infused into the batter and just flat gave up at that point. Lastly, the mill sauce was actually a paste consistency that wouldn't pour from it's container. Ambiance, was faded and kinda dirty. This place used be a close second to the Ballard location, but it appears they've given up. We were robbed.
google avatar

Yelp
Anytime the craving for a really good quality, and custom burger comes along Red Mill Burgers is the place to go! I greatly appreciate the number of offered customizations per item, there's definitely something for everyone. The customer service yielded is always really courteous and efficient.
google avatar

Regan G.

Yelp
Best burger I've had in Seattle, by far. Order ahead, because the lines are crazy long, for good reason. The service is great too! For as busy as the staff is, when you speak to them at the counter, they give you their undivided attention, and are able to help you efficiently! The space is way smaller than the amount of business they have, so if you go at normal mealtimes, you might want to eat in the car, or grab a tasty brew next door to wash it down!
google avatar

Gary W.

Yelp
I haven't been to Red Mill for it seems to be 10 years and will be another 10 years the next time. I gave in to my impulse to drop in as drive by this location all the time. I remember not liking the romaine lettuce on the burger, now I don't like the Red Mill sauce as is overly spicy and salty. It seems this sauce must be added to almost everything as even the onion rings were spicy and salty. I'm still drinking water to clear out my system. The staff looks very happy and service reminds me when I was last in Kauai were service is so laid back, everyone is on island time. There's piped in rock music and its like a back yard BBQ happening. My wife loves this place and let me say the chocolate milk shake was really good and I really enjoyed my coke. In retrospect, if the Red Mill sauce was removed and the burger was dry without sauce and the crispy burnt bacon it might have been really good. How about they add a low-salt burger without Red Mill sauce to the menu, it might be a top seller.
google avatar

Jennifer L.

Yelp
Lacks seasoning...I read on the website a review from the Oprah show & GQ magazine that their burgers are one of the top 20 burgers you should try before you die. Not sure if I got a different burger from what they are talking about but I don't see what the hype is about. I got a cheeseburger and there was more bread and A LOT of lettuce than the actual burger patty. I give it three stars for the location on 67th next to a brewery and close to the zoo. Also because the customer service was great. I will try something else next time I'm there.
google avatar

Yelp
i couldn't resist the urge to stop in at the interbay location, for old time's sake. it may have easily been two plus decades since i was last there but after a long walk at discovery park a milkshake sounded appropriate. there were two very young employees, one who was getting necessary guidance on the register from a season veteran, and the other packaging to go orders or organizing meals to be eaten on the premises. i got a marionberry shake that was super tasty and last minute decision to go for some onion rings. both were more than satisfactory however it wasn't yet busy for a weekend lunch rush and i had to say three times that the order was to go before the bag appeared and more napkins than would be necessary for a ten person feast we're tossed in alongside multiple packets of ketchup, (maybe a little more training on quantity of things to go with to go meals but that will also come with experience.) all in all, the visit brought back memories from the early 90''s and definitely filled my stomach for the drive home to west seattle. might have to remember the shake options for when the weather starts to heat up!
google avatar

Doctor K.

Yelp
It should be visited for the burger, but it should be appreciated for the Onion Rings. The Onion Rings are amazing. Great service, a lot of people tell me this is the best burger but I'd say it a contender for best onion ring with a good burger worth stopping for.
google avatar

Yelp
"Best burger in Seattle!" "One of the 20 hamburgers you must eat before you die." These are quotes pulled from Red Mill Burgers own site. Well, needless to say, these quotes must be fabricated or just downright wrong. I went on a Saturday evening and this place was jam packed with parents and kids and orders and burgers (which contributed to the ever growing hype for me). I waited for quite a while to get: Bacon cheeseburger Fries Now the fries were pretty solid. If this was a fry store, easy 4.5/5! But no, this is a burger joint, and the burger was super disappointing. The burger itself was super dry, and the bacon was burnt and overly salty. It's the plainest burger that one can ask for. There was no grease. No liquids or juices. Just a plain boring, dry and overly salty, burger. And all this for $15? Get out of town. That's a crime. Go to Dick's instead. Or any fast food joint around. Sure, the burgers at these places may not be "restaurant quality," but they sure do best out Red Mill's burgers, both in price and quality. Pffft. Next.
google avatar

Chris S.

Yelp
Very average basic burger. The meat and bun were dry and too little of their Mill sauce to make up for it. Nothing wrong with basic burgers, but it does mean there's more focus on the taste of each ingredient and sadly even the lettuce tasted old. Good sized parking lot dedicated to the restaurant and a fair amount of seating inside and out.
google avatar

Leo T.

Yelp
Cute and vintage building. Vintage decorations too. This spot is a favorite and constantly frequented by me. Their burgers just melt and are perfect. The only way to describe it. If you're reading this, you should really go try it. Definitely one of the best burgers in Seattle. The owner has a wack past but he doesn't run it anymore.
google avatar

Nicolas J.

Yelp
One of the best burgers I've had and I was a big fan of that Orange creamsicle shake. Onion rings are small in quantity but big in filling. Burger was the bleu cheese for me. Overall would try this spot if local to the region!

Paula L.

Yelp
The burger was enormous, but really messy and hard to eat. It was pretty much a twenty napkin meal. Great tasting sauce. The onion ring ratio of breading to onion was far to heavy on the breading and they were way too crunchy (I didn't even know that was possible). I probably won't get them again.
google avatar

Donn D.

Yelp
I had a really great burger here. It was full of meat and cheese, with huge slices of bacon. Hold the Red Mill sauce. Good fries to munch on too. The prices were a bit much, but the food was superior so it is forgivable. Unfortunately the parking situation is difficult but that's Seattle for you. What bummed me out was seeing a homeless dude digging through the trash can out front and then getting into an argument with a couple sitting outside eating. I don't know what that was about but is seemed like it was escalating. I was leaving when I witnessed it and had places to be so I didn't stick around to see the end. I hope it turned out okay.

S G.

Yelp
Love love love. Had not been here in over 10 years and the verse hamburger was still the best one I have ever had. Lines out the door on a Tuesday. Amazing food. Try it out
google avatar

Wennie H.

Yelp
I haven't had Red Mill in like 15 years...and nostalgia is what brought me back. They still have solid basic burgers. Popped in and grabbed a deluxe with cheese, red onion jam burger and fries. Red onion jam burger wasn't bad, onions could have been cooked down more but the rest of the burger fixins were solid. My partner wasn't a fan of how thin the patty was but liked the fries a lot. The fries were super crispy, salted and pillowy on the inside. Perfection in a bite. Price wise, things were super affordable. And things are made to order so we had a smidge of a wait but not anything terrible.
google avatar

Stephanie S.

Yelp
This was actually a really delicious burger! There was a line but it goes pretty quickly. We shared the deluxe burger. It was yummy and it wasn't a big sloppy mess like a lot of burgers are. We also had the fried mushrooms which were tasty. I liked them with the red mill sauce. I'd definitely stop by again sometime!
google avatar

Katie G.

Yelp
Quality of food-wise, I have had mixed experiences at Red Mill. Their chicken verde burgers are good. However, RM has earned this one star review for continuing to employ the rudest staff in Seattle, particularly one young man who is misogynistic and ageist. You'll recognize him by the ever-present nasty smirk. I waited tables for years, from chains to fine dining. I worked behind the counter in delis making hoagies and cheesesteaks, stocking, and working the register. I am very forgiving of service mistakes etc. (including during my 2nd to last visit here). This was unforgivably poor treatment.
google avatar

Gail F.

Yelp
Not the best burgers, but the vibes are great. Food: 3/5. I had the Bleu Cheese n Bacon Burger (3/5), Red Mill Double Deluxe with Cheese (3/5), and a side of fries (4/5). The patties on both are 1/4lb, so they're thin and not juicy. If you like smashburgers, this may be up your alley. The bacon was done to my taste: crispy and firm but not charred and overdone. The blue cheese overpowers the Red Mill Sauce, so if you want to truly taste the joint's specialty sauce, I'd recommend going with a classic cheeseburger. The fries are just crispy and golden, and the cashier told me that they would take special directions on the fries to cater the crispness to your preference! Vibe: 5/5. The vintage sports decor gives the joint a classic burger joint vibe. Even at the end of the day, the staff seemed to be stoked to be there and having a great time.

Patricia T.

Yelp
Finally a burger that doesn't look like it was run over on the way out!!! How many times have you ordered a burger based on a picture in the menu and it looked absolutely nothing like what you expected when it was served?! Redmill is hitting it out of the park with reasonable prices, fresh ingredients, fast service, and all without compromising good tasting food. Going back tonight to sample those AMAZING looking onion rings!
google avatar

Lauren D.

Yelp
This is our happy place. Short, straightforward menu, decent service, great burgers and fries, no frills, classic Seattle all the way. Go-to order is Red Mill Deluxe with Tillamook Cheese.
google avatar

Yelp
Juicy, slutty, yum yum burgers! Definitely check this place out and get a shake too! Best in the summertime. Grab your food from here and then a beer next door at ridgewood tap! Great view of greenlake below. Reminds me of old burger stands when I was a kid, although these burgers are better!
google avatar

Jodie R.

Yelp
Are here twice while staying in Green Lake. Incredibly good and affordable. Spokane could learn from this.

Yelp
Everything is simply delicious and flavorful! My go to when I am craving a burger! You will not be disappointed.

Yelp
If you have never been to Red Mill you are missing out! It's One of the best burger joints in town! I have been coming here since I was a teenager now I bring my family. We love everything on the menu- it's always so fresh and delicious! My husband and boys love their bacon of course!

I've been here a few times over the years, shocked I never reviewed it. This was the first location I ate at about 20 years ago. They had a billboard that read, "If you want an ass as big as a ferry, eat our burgers". They earned style points for that one. My initial burger years ago, was smoky and tasty and reminded me of a couple burger favorites that don't exist anymore. The place is out of the way, so I've only been back a few times in the past 20 years and half of those times there were closed because I can never remember they aren't open on Mondays. Never made it to Totem House. Pandemic hit, they closed and when they never fully re-opened, I knew that was a done deal. I've eaten at Interbay as well, but it's a different experience, I prefer the intimacy of this location however, there is a good chance you won't get a park or a table when you come here. This trip I got lucky, there was a single parking spot available, and I claimed it. Inside the places was almost empty. All the counter seating was available and 4 out of the 8 estimated tables were available. Placed my order and when I went to grab a table, they were all dirty, I mean filthy. I went back to the counter to ask for someone to wipe a table and the snotty girl looked at me like I asked her for her kidney. After about an awkward 15 second stare down. She called someone to clean tables. That girl was extremely friendly, even apologized, but truth be told, my mood already shifted. It's someone job to keep the place clean, especially when it's slow and giving attitude when someone asks for help makes me question if these women get training, or if management is managing anything! It was a long wait for the meal. When it came, everything was hot and fresh, however, the burger was salty and lacked the juice and smoke that I remember. For the record, I love salt, so if they burger was salty, someone seasoned the flunk out of it. I also paid $.50 for Mill Sauce; it was terrible. It boasted in its explanation as a smokey mayonnaise, but it was bland and flavorless. I mixed in some ketchup and added salt and pepper, but I recommend you skip it all together, it was trash. They also would benefit from a Frings option. Add 1.50 and get a couple onion rings on top of your fries, or something to that effect. No question this place has potential and previous trips have proved that to me, but this is a prime example of how you can be a highly rated national eatery, but snotty service and poor preparation can ruin your brand. Had this been my first trip, it would have been my last. It still may be. I'd probably go back to Interbay before I came back here, the attitude of that cashier was so sh*tty, I honestly should have just requested my money back and walked out, but I suspect, they wouldn't have refunded me after placing my order. That said. Single star, that's who you are!

Yelp
Great burgers, shakes and fries, always a line and limited seating, one of the best burgers around

Yelp
High quality burgers that leave me quite satisfied. One of the best burger places I've been to. Not many parking spaces though.

Yelp
Heard a lot about how amazing this burger joint is. I got the double bacon deluxe and it was a huge burger. If you want a gigantic delicious plain burger this is it. Nothing special about the beef. Idk if I'd come here again for $26 for fries, drink and a burger. Besides it being more expensive than 5 guys I have nothing negative to say.

Yelp
Red Mill Burgers are always delicious. I am surprised it took me this long to post a review. I typically order the Red Mill Deluxe Burger with Cheese and a side of fries, or if I'm going for it, onion rings. Service is fast and burgers and consistently delicious

Yelp
Their lucky to get one star!!! First of all you HAVE to order online, second you have to stand OUTSIDE,I walked up to the window and this rude little b*^* said " you need a mask" very rudely,(forgot my mask ,just picking up fries) ,I understand everyone is scared but you don't have to be rude ,then you won't get reviews like this, I would have happily returned to my car and got my mask if she was nice about it,so I stood there until I got my fries! NO MASK!!!

Yelp
I heard great things about this place, so I had to check it out. Easily ordered online, got texted when the food was ready, quick pick-up. I tried two burgers here. The Red Onion Jam burger: Sadly, this was disappointing. It was boring. There was nothing "jammy" about it, yes there were caramelized onions but they didn't really... stand out or contribute much. The burger also needed more sauce or ketchup... it was a bit too dry. Double Deluxe with Cheese: SPECTACULAR. This is what all the stars are for! Who knew American cheese could be so damn good, but this cheese was plentiful and perfectly nestled between two patties of delicious beef... and the vegetables were so fresh (greenest lettuce I've seen on a burger). Everything went so well together. It was a bit too big for me to finish, which is just how I like my burgers (to either pig out on or save the rest for later). Also had the fries which were decent. They did the job and were nice and potato-y. I will be back for the double deluxe w/cheese again, and maybe try the verde burger, that looks interesting. OH crap they also have shakes.... yeah I'm going to have to try that, too.

Yelp
I came here right after a long hike and it was best damn thing ever. I ordered their verde burger and it actually look like a burger you would see from an advertisement. They didn't skimp on the ingredients and they had nice slices of everything, but not overwhelming where the thing was falling apart. A great burger overall. Out of all the fried apps, I liked the fried mushrooms the most. Never had it before and thought it was unique. The onions rings were huge and I couldn't finish it!
