Nearly impossible to find - no clear signage visible from the street. Basically, 2nd floor of multi-story building on the corner. Find the elevator and stairs, head up to 2nd floor.
Tried the sliced and cut bowls. Sliced is much like sliced roast beef for sandwiches. Very salty. With the egg and cream, not inspiring. Needs a horseradish kick or sour cream. You will get bored of it halfway through, and when you've finished it, feels like you ate a salt block.
Cut bowl is like grilled beef, tasty, and the better choice of the two. Pepper and other spices, not one flavor like the salty sliced. Definitely order this.
Salad is forgettable, ends with a very sour vinegar note. Plain vegetables, nothing better than Souplantation. Soup is merely a few, small fatty pieces of beef floating in with a few slices of vegetables or something at the bottom. Not at the level of the soup you get at Gyutan by far. Forgettable after a few sips.
Soft opening, but had a decent amount of guests. Service was fine although you may need to call the waiter over for the check and water refill.
Beef-wise, Gyutan and Lawry's Carvery at the same price points are consistently more delicious.
