"Expanding from its original Torrance spot, this Japanese beef-bowl restaurant opens in Sawtelle Japantown on June 1 in the former Morinoya space inside the Olympic Collection at the corner of Sawtelle and Olympic Boulevards. It joins an already dense block of Japanese and Asian restaurants such as Tsujita, Curry House, and Tatsu Ramen. The signature, reasonably priced roasted beef bowls (about $13) come with medium-rare roast beef, a raw egg yolk, peppered yogurt sauce, and a sweet soy sauce over rice; the Torrance location also offers grilled American-style steak, curry, and garlic shrimp, and a similar menu is expected here. The second-story location can be a bit hard to spot from the street, but like its Torrance sister it may benefit from word-of-mouth. Service hours will be daily for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and dinner from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m." - Matthew Kang
