Red Room Bar - Review - Financial District - New York - The Infatuation

"Inside Printemps, Red Room Bar has shelves of rare art books for sale, and a bar up front under a giant chandelier. But the best seats in the house are the ones partially hidden under the spiral staircase, where you’ll feel the most like you’re sitting in a sexy little cocktail bar. Except you’re not—you’re in a French-ified mall, and you can buy a $2,000 red ruffly blouse after your drink if you so choose. The cocktails are complex and often successful, like the No Exit, a chartreuse and rum-based concoction, which your server will deliver to you along with a side of chartreuse history. (Only two people in the world know how to make chartreuse, so you’d better enjoy it while it lasts.) There are three bar snacks available—translucent plantain chips, candied pecans, and fried black eyed peas—and you should get all three if you’re even a little hungry. After your bar snack sampler, wander around the adjoining red room that features designer shoes displayed on white pedestals that look like plants." - Willa Moore

Printemps Opens in NYC With Food From Gregory Gourdet

"A bar housed in a landmarked portion of the building that blends familiar New York bar fare with Haitian touches, highlighted by snacks such as crisp green plantains and a nostalgic Haitian tarte à l’oignon: a very eggy custard set with Edam cheese and loads of caramelized onion, presented as a special-occasion family recipe." - Chris Crowley

Similar to their sister Restaurant, Mason Passarelle, the service is slow and not attentive. However, our waitress was awesome, kind, knowledgeable, and funny. We would just constantly have to try to get her attention. The bar is rather small and not super busy and often you see staff socializing with each other at the bar, distracting the bartender and servers from actually tending to tables. They would serve a lot more drinks and make a lot more money if they and their sister Restaurant were more attentive. The cocktails and Wines by the glass were great. We loved the fries and snack trio. The decor is awesome. They do also need to have the doorman at the entrance of the shoe store. Also be more attentive. He opens the opposite door from where you enter. He did this for me as well as other guests and my friend who arrived before I did. What’s the point of having a doorman if he can’t open the door for you, looks the other way as if he is bored. And upon exiting refused to open the door for us and just look the other way. He was a waste of a staff and gave off a very pretentious vibe, which is the exact opposite of how the other staff members are in the shoe store as well as at the bar and the restaurant. Management really needs to pay more attention to Client Service and Hospitality because it lacks big time.

Major points for decor but they’ve got a lot of work to do. It’s kind of hard to find if you don’t know where you’re going and I had to ask at least two staff members before someone took me to the bar… My res got cancelled because I also booked a dinner reservation via Resy for an hour and a half later. Right now — they don’t have food and the reservation at Red Room Bar is only for 75 minutes. I emailed them and asked them to keep my reservation immediately after I got the cancellation notice — and they claimed they couldn’t honor it. We showed up anyway, and the staff was able to seat us. The service was a touch slow. They only have ~3 bar snacks so I’d say this is a post-dinner not a pre-dinner stop. Cocktail was pretty - I had the Pink Pony Club - it was light and easy and pretty. Husband tried the crémant — I love that they use the right glassware for sparkling wine (not a coupe or a flute). The decor and attention to details here are particularly lovely.

The decor and ambiance made the experience at the Red Room Bar so pleasurable. The menu was well planned and featured many cocktail and food items that would please anyone. The staff was so pleasant and welcoming. Evan made the quiet moment I was craving available with I nice table for one in an elegant nook. Definitely a must go again.

Beautiful bar inside Printemps. Elevated but approachable. I have come by twice and the staff are nice and attentative. I enjoyed my non-alcoholic drink and the black eyed peas snack. Great spot to bring friends and work clients.

Gorgeous space. Some of the best bar fries I've ever had. And the drinks were exquisite. This is the kind of place where Monkey 47 is a rail spirit.

Google
All drinks are pre batched. I have some food allergies and tried calling beforehand to see if anything could be substituted but the people on the phone said there was no way to get in contact with the restaurant. After I ordered drinks the waitress disappeared for an hour. I had to walk up to the bar to grab my check. Table across from me had to start waving at people to come help. Awful service but beautiful atmosphere. Definitely needs some improvement

Not only is this fabulous place of across the street from my home, but the staff and the people are incredible, especially my girl Lena Meginsky❤️. Very impressive and informative and patient with everyone in the room, making sure everyone gets served perfectly I will definitely be coming back… Well, I’m spoiled. I do live across the street. They make great martinis and the hamburger to die for hello with the onions a must. Sue 🌟

Yelp
Every time I visit The Red Room at Maison Passerelle, I'm reminded why it's my absolute favorite restaurant in New York. The food is consistently outstanding; layered with texture, freshness, and flavor that feels both elevated and comforting. From the perfectly crisp pommes frites to the glazed honeynut squash bursting with spice and sweetness, every dish shows such thoughtful execution. The balance of flavors and presentation is just beautiful. Even something as simple as a fried chicken sandwich feels like a work of art here. The atmosphere is warm and elegant, with a cozy glow that makes every evening feel special. It's the perfect mix of sophistication and playfulness. Highly recommend for anyone who loves vibrant flavors, creative cuisine, and a dining experience that feels personal every time.

Yelp
The good is that the Red Room at Printemps is so rad to visit. The ambiance is unbeatable, it's moody and a little hidden and it feels like the perfect girls night out spot. Unfortunately I had a pretty bizarre experience here when I tried to walk-in on a rainy weekday with a party of four. It was quiet but the tables were mostly taken. Hours before we came there were a ton of reservations so we didn't think it was necessary because we only wanted drinks -- we were wrong. Apparently you cannot stand by the bar at all. There were three open seats but they wouldn't even let one friend stand between them so we were forced to wait. Okay, no problem, they said it would be 20 minutes. It happens. Well, an hour passes and finally I go up to ask about it -- they shrug and say well you can order drinks and sit on the couches by the shoes if you want while you wait. Okay, sure. Kinda wish we'd known than an hour ago. We order our $20+ cocktails and sit around... for another half hour. Still no table, no bar, nothing. We ask what the deal is, again they shrug and say sorry no dice. I note there's a whole new crop of folks sitting at the bar. We close our check and leave. I'm a very patient and reasonable person, but the experience was pretty lame. At bare minimum by the time an hour passed they should have reached out to us (sitting across the room a mere 10 second walk from their podium) to update us on the situation. We felt pretty forgotten about, which was just kinda dumb when we were sitting there staring at them the whole time. But whatever! I will say the cocktails were pretty darn tasty. I had a pink pony club and it was lovely. But they just don't seem to have their stuff together so make a reservation or wait at your own peril.

Yelp
Very pleasant oasis away from the hustle and bustle of my great city :). Finding various Manhattan escapes are always a fun find. I enjoyed the refreshing Sorbet- Guava-Hibiscus--Refreshing with a kick of ginger lime shaved ice. July 2025. Inside Printemps-The Red Room Bar. Main Floor Very pleasant staff, service, tableware. Fun! A very nice treat. You deserve it! Stop by. NOTE--These days it's almost rare to pay in cash, we are so used to using a card to pay. (Sometimes it may even cost less to pay in cash, to avoid a small extra charge for the restaurant to handle the extra cost for cc usage). I paid in cash today, and the person who delivered my check, (not my server) and took the check, forgot to bring me my change. I had brought it to his attention that there was cash in the check holder, since there was a coin to keep things simple. Perhaps he misunderstood and thought I also meant bye-bye, just because I said there is cash in here LOL. I don't know , but pay attention if you are paying in cash, that's all. Enjoy!!

Yelp
Sexy little bar with great classy entry to the main dining room Maison Passerelle. Highly recommend ordering the Pink Pony Club! With Pommes Frites of course! Delightful service, the staff is so lovely. Definitely a pre-dinner cocktail bar or great place to meet.

Yelp
Lovely cocktail bar that is tucked away on the lower level of Pretemps. Finding the bar is a little tricky you either need to go upstairs from the main entrance and walk across to the other end of the store to go down a dedicated staircase. The alternative is entering on the side through the shoe department. The cocktails are unusual. The food menu is small but there are nice options. It feels like walking into a throwback from the 1920s or 1930s.

Yelp
The Red Room Bar is a newly opened cocktail lounge inside Printemps - Their menu offers cocktails, including zero proof cocktails, beer, cider, by the glass options, and bar snacks. We tried: +the GYT - with gin, suze, yuzu, and tonic +La Goulue - prepared with rum, passionfruit, pandan, coconut yogurt, and champagne +the Pink Pony Club - prepared with mezcal, clarin, guava, strawberry, and soda +Spiced Pecan +Crispy Black Eyed Peas +and, Habanero Salt Plantain Chips Service was friendly, and the space was beautiful, with the high ceilings, red ombré, and gold mosaics! Make sure you make reservations, which is pretty seamless, as this is a 25-seat lounge! +friendly service +make reservations

Yelp
Red Room Bar is a stunningly beautiful space with a welcoming, elegant atmosphere. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive--they helped us choose our cocktails and even found us a table without a reservation. The food looked tempting but was a bit pricey, so we skipped ordering any this visit. One unexpected highlight: we could wander through Printemps store with our drinks in hand, which made for a fun and very chic experience.
