"You’d never know from the relaxing atmosphere at Koreatown’s Coffee MCO that the same space flips into a pet-nat party (with no cover) after dark. Red Room is that cafe’s ruby-colored wine bar alter ego, and depending on the night, there’s usually a DJ set, singles mixer, or straight-up dance party happening in this two-story lounge. The lineup (listed on their Instagram feed) changes week to week, but the Salomon and cargo pants crowd of Olympic Boulevard is always here. Expect blasting house music, flowing yuzu highballs, and small plates from rotating chefs doing pop-ups in the kitchen. Be sure to get here early before all the free parking spots in the lot are gone. " - nikko duren, brant cox, sylvio martins

"Koreatown’s Coffee MCO is a cafe by day, and a neon-hued natural wine bar by night. Its nocturnal alter ego is known as the Red Room. Every Thursday through Saturday, the Salomon and cargo pants crowd of Olympic Blvd. piles in for a glass of something fizzy and funky. The wine list is on the smaller side which makes choosing a bottle less daunting, and the staff will gladly pour you taste until you find something you like. Aside from natty wine, the Red Room has yuzu highballs and small plates from rotating chefs doing pop-ups. You can pretty much expect this two-floor wine spot to be packed after 7pm—check their Instagram before you arrive to see if they’re hosting a DJ set, singles mixer, or dance party. Everything about Red Room Wine Bar was perfection. I would describe the food as a symphony of flavors dancing on my taste buds, each one like a burst of fireworks in my mouth. Every dish was different from the next. Chef Yoon and Jenny definitely stood out because they were so welcoming and made this an unforgettable experience.

Awesome new discovery for a chill laid-back vibe to end a day or start of the weekend! The manager (Jennie?) was very informative about explaining all the wines and offered tastings of her recommendations. Really like that natural wine is becoming more available in the Koreatown area.

Visiting from Chicago and stopped here during the day for coffee and came back for Red Room. Loved the atmosphere, the vibes, service and the food. Great indoor/ outdoor seating and really kind staff. Reminds me of some great neighborhood spots in Busan. Loved the soju cocktails and wine list. Food was super tasty. The mushroom tacos were the bomb. Would love to come back next time I’m in LA. Also a major plus - free parking lot in the back.

Food was decent, but the portions were very tiny for the price. Service was absolutely stellar and we really enjoyed the wine they recommended. Would definitely return

Had a great time here this past Saturday! Really cool vibe and ambiance without feeling stuffy. I don’t know too much about wine but Jenny was really knowledgeable and approachable about my questions and she recommended a delicious sparkling wine to accompany my meal. The food was really something else—so flavorful and fresh, despite there being a good amount of variety between each item. I had the petite potato jeons, minari pesto pasta (not sure about the spelling) and the tres leches matcha cake (probably one of the best desserts I’ve ever had, legit). Truly so many different flavors that were maximized with my wine pairing. From what I understand the menu will be somewhat seasonal so I’m really excited to see what the chef does with the menu. Sadly I’m from out of town so I don’t know when I’ll be back, but I know Red Room will be on my list next time I’m in LA!
