My partner and I needed somewhere to have lunch that was kid-friendly and it seemed most places in the area were pubs/breweries, which is not the vibe we were looking for. This place looked perfect to pop in for a quick bite with a toddler.
The parking lot is half-paved, half dust and rocks, so if you're with someone with mobility restrictions, plan on dropping them off near the front.
They did have adequate amounts of high chairs for the amount of kids that were there, as well as a kids menu on their main menu. I did not see a changing table in the bathroom, but maybe it was inside the handicapped stall?
I got a strawberry cheesecake shake, and it was creamy and just sweet enough. I also got a burger with pepper jack cheese instead of the Velveeta because the cheese product doesn't sit well with my digestive system and we had a long drove home to Chicago. The burger needed seasoning, or at least salt. I did factor in that they usually use Velveeta, so maybe they cut out salting the meat since that "cheese" is so salty, but it was also dry, even though it was cooked medium-well.
It's perfectly fine, and not "bad" food. We can't have the best meal of our lives everywhere we go, right? Also, it was pretty busy (Sunday afternoon in the summer) and my partner ordered coleslaw with his burger, and we ordered applesauce as the side for our kid, but all 3 orders were brought put with fries, so don't get too attached to the idea of a side other than fries because you might just get fries. They are crinkle fries, the kind that are great with lots of ketchup. There are worse offenses in life, but that is why I put 4 stars instead of 5. The server was great, and the food was less greasy than I expected from a roadside burger spot. It was a safe and friendly atmosphere. There was parking and a place for my kid to sit. I'd stop here again based off of that, and I'd just try something new. Their salads looked good!
