"COVID-19 Update: Open for pickup (order ahead) and delivery. This is nothing more than a simple food stand in the Brentwood Country Mart, but it's insanely good (and for us, steeped in nostalgia). The moist, perfectly-seasoned rotisserie chicken basket comes with plenty of barbecue dipping sauce, and fries that are absolutely worth the shot to the arteries. We've never heard a kid complain about the chicken tender basket, either. Don't be deterred by the lines: They move fast. Reddi Chick Review - Brentwood - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Reddi Chick is a longtime stall at the Country Mart, a.k.a. Brentwood’s clubhouse. There’s not a fresh vegetable in sight—just chicken nuggets, chicken tenders, rotisserie chicken, and deep-fried things to go with it. This is a Brentwood classic, where people who only left the neighborhood to go to college and have their one “wild” year living off Melrose bring their kids. You’ve probably had better chicken baskets, and you’ve definitely had cheaper chicken, but for the neighborhood, this is a great, casual place to catch up with a friend and eat a lot of ketchup." - Arden Shore

Pretty good basic steak sandwich, would be better with some onions. French roll was decent. Owner was very nice. Fries were good too.

Reddi chick is a great spot in the Brentwood country mart. Most importantly remember to bring cash as they are cash only. My favorite is the fish sandwich with a side of coleslaw but you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Staff is so nice & food comes out quick!

Google
A classic BBQ spot that’s been around for years. I’m glad I finally got around to trying it for the first time. I got the BBQ Chicken & Ribs combo basket. The chicken was tasty, but definitely needed the side of BBQ sauce to really enjoy it. The same could be said about the ribs. On their own, they are decent, but with sauce, much better. The side of fries were ok. The seasoning was by far the best part about them. The overall combo is about $20. While it’s not cheap, you do get a hefty portion. If you find yourself in the Brentwood Country Mart, Reddi Chick is a solid option. I’ll definitely be back to try one of their sandwiches, and one of their famous loaded potatoes.

I was on my way home after a hike in the palisades and my friend said he knew a chicken place nearby we should go to, so we went to reddi chick. For starters this place has so many options from seafood to just your standard chicken. Me and my friends all got the chicken tenders basket which comes with 4 tenders, fries, and some barbecue sauce. We also got ranch and ketchup on the side as well. This chicken is some of the best I've ever had. The breading is perfectly crispy and crunchy, while the chicken cutlet itself is just thin enough that it isn't too hot and gets a crunch in every bite. The chicken pieces are also spectacularly long and large, so you really feel like you're getting a good amount of food. The fries were insane. Cooked perfectly and not overly crispy but not soggy kept me stuffing my face with them. Everything about the meal was absolutely fantastic. The service was quick, easy, and kind. The servers were quick to get me a water cup and my extra sauces. The only thing to be aware of is that they take cash only, so come prepared.

Google
I got recommended and they were spot on . I had the steak sandwich for $15.16 .. a very fair priced delicious steak and barbeque on a extra soft roll, nice thick cut pieces of steak( maybe rib eye). Not stingy I will definitely return

Google
This place is fantastic. It has been here for as long as I can remember. My father has been coming here since he was a teenager and he has been taking me here since I was a kid. They have amazing bbq baskets with rotisserie ribs or chicken, Chicken tender baskets, fried seafood baskets or bbq chicken sandwiches. The bbq sauce is house made and amazing, and the seasoning on the fries is to die for. Sometimes the line can get a little long but trust me, it is well worth the wait for this Los Angeles staple!

Google
ok, this is a well-seasoned, delicious bird. extra generous on the fries. fried zukes and tater salad are very good, too! first time here, and will be back!

I have been eating at Reddi Chick for going on 50 years. I recently moved from the area and miss Reddi Chick so much! I like the Teriyaki Steak Sandwich (which contrary to the name has always been BBQ, not teriyaki). I also love the rotisserie chicken cooked on that vertical wall of flames. The ribs are good, but these are rotisserie cooked ribs, not smoked, and are different than what some might expect when they think of BBQ ribs. I think they are excellent. Most everything else is good too, notably the fries. I always ask for my fries well-done, they are way better when crispy. This place is unchanged in the 50 years I have been going because they always had things right. This is demonstrated by the line of people waiting to order on any nice day. If people on the westside are lucky, they will still be unchanged 50 years from now. Bring your cash, that's all they take -- also unchanged, and I like it that way.

Yelp
Reddi chick is very nostalgic. Classic fried food, to be honest, it's obvious a lot of the items are frozen and refried, but that doesn't mean it's not delicious. It is delicious. We always get the tender basket and a side of curly fries. Get all the sauces, ketchup, ranch, and bbq. It is a cash only establishment. There is a lot of places to sit and enjoy on the patio. You can also get your parking validated.

Yelp
I was disappointed. My only preface is that we arrived at 630ish, maybe 30 minutes before closing. What you see plus a baked potato and 2 drinks cost $55 (cash only spot). My chicken was clearly just sitting there in the warming oven in frot, and was expectedly dry. Absolutely nothing special or outstanding about the spot. The best thing was the onion rings. I was concerned my baked potato had mold on the skin (unless scattered black dots on a potato is normal?). Anyways, 2 trips to the pretentious Brentwood Country Mart and I was left disappointed both times.

Yelp
Best chicken and ribs in town. And the fries are so good. Always fresh. Been coming here for 60 years. :)

Yelp
Love this place! I've had everything on the menu and this place don't miss! The Ribs and Wings are my favorite, and I love a dark meat basket. One of kind BBQ sauce, one of kind seasoning. This place is special! I love the vibe at the Brentwood Country Mart, you never know who you're going to see! The staff is great, almost always busy and they do a good job of taking care of the orders, without sacrificing quality. If you haven't eaten here, you're missing an experience! They are CASH ONLY, so bring cash!

Yelp
The best chicken ever. The staff is friendly. Nothing has changed since I started going here as a child in the best way possible.

Yelp
BBQ chicken basket was a super disappointment. You'll get much better chicken at Costco or Albertsons. It was very dry and tough. The side of beans was about two tablespoons. My friends went for the Mexican and hamburger shops across the patio and had a much better experience. Sadly I actually left a buck in the tip jar before chocking it down. Seriously possibly the worst $20 chicken I've ever had. Next time I'll go for the burger joint. My buddy said it was excellent.

Yelp
Stopped by BCM to do some shopping. I normally would skip RCB because the wait and the line are just way too long. However, today, there were no line and no wait, so we decided to just get something to nibble because after all it is "fast food". Anyways, the seafood combo was good, but the cole slaw was not. Cole slaw had a weird taste and who puts green onions in cole slaw....?? The baked potato was good, but next time, I'd probably just get a plain one with butter. All and all, it was an ok/good experience. I wouldn't go crazy. Maybe I'll try the chicken since that is what most people order here. Oh, yes, please bring your vaccinated cash because it is cash only. So a 3.9 rounding off.

Yelp
I used to eat here all the time when I lived in BW- lots of great memories sitting in the picnic benches, eating my Reddi Chick and people watching... I ordered the chicken nugget basket and chicken tender basket - kind of expensive-$12 each, the nuggets reminded me of the Golden Arches, which I think is a 3 star rating .. the chicken tenders were good, but the fries were soggy and I didn't taste any seasoned salt...,3 stars for the fries, I prefer crispy fries..

Nan N.

Yelp
I've been going there since my 33 and 35 yrs old boys played soccer and we went after games. We love the baby back ribs and the bbq sauce. We don't live close anymore and drove 45 min to have the ribs for take out. When we got home I heated the ribs and fries in the oven for 5 min. They did not disappoint. They fell off the bone and fries dipped in ranch dressing can't get better than that. Nothing has changed in 25 yrs. Best ribs in LA!!

Yelp
I've been coming to Reddi Chick since I was a young Chick. Lol the BQ sauce is so good I swear I can drink it. The fries with the seasoning on them to diiiiiieeee for! Okay now I'm drooling. If you haven't been to the Brentwood Country Mart and if you haven't been to Reddi Chick your totally missing out.

Red A.

Yelp
HALF Chicken Basket was very disappointing. Only two small pieces of chicken and beans in super small cup for $20 is total a rip off. Costco makes better rotisserie chicken for $5. Their bbq sauce tasted like it's from a dollar store. Not sure how they are still running business. Don't waste your money! I left 1 star because I can't choose no star.
google avatar

Doreen M.

Yelp
I thought this place was okay. I ordered delivery for dinner right before they were going to close so not sure if my chicken had just sat there all day. The chicken is not brined, and it was fairly dry. I got the wing plate with fries. For roti chicken, it tastes like any other place. If anything, I've had better chicken from Costco and Cali Chicken Cafe. The chicken here pretty much tasted like roti chicken from the hot deli section of the grocery store like Ralphs or Vons. I may try it again for other bbq items, but for the roti chicken, not sure.
google avatar

Robert B.

Yelp
Although the nuggets weren't the most reasonably priced item, they were really tasty. They were perfectly seasoned and cooked just right. Definitely tastier than the "golden arches". I was in the area and wanted a quick bite to eat. It hit the spot and didn't disappoint. The menu looked extensive, and I would like to come back and try the fish sandwich.
google avatar

Ridwan A.

Yelp
Ordered via Uber eats, wanted chicken and wanted to see what they're all about. Read reviews before I ordered and I should have listened. $16 for whole chicken and does not taste anywhere as good as $5 Costco or less than $10 at Ralph's/Jon's/Albertsons. There is no flavor. Literally just chicken with very little salt (and I'm salt sensitive). It's healthy for sure but at least put some black peppers on the mix. Give it a little flavor. It's literally chicken and the juice from the baking process. Was juicy chicken which is great but couldn't enjoy it knowing the price is highway robbery for lack of flavor when you know grocery stores actually taste better.

Barry A.

Yelp
Not nearly as good as it used to be. Prices are way too high for what they give you. Cash only these days is highly unusual. Must be nice to have a cash only business these days. Sounds like a good tax shelter!

Albert H.

Yelp
Genuinely the worst bbq chicken I've ever had in my life. Coleslaw was gross too and super vinigery. Baked beans were slightly average at best. Even the bbq sauce sucked. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your money.
google avatar

Yelp
Reddi Chick is a CLASSIC Brentwood restaurant. I've been coming here for years. The staff is friendly and efficient, and get your food out in a timely manner (quicker than the other restaurants in the country mart). It's in the country mart so there is a lot of good seating. It's a perfect lunch spot. For food, they obviously specialize in chicken. One tip: the tenders are better than the chicken nuggets even though the nuggets are more popular. You can't go wrong with any of their chicken baskets, they are all good! I'm personally a white meat over dark meat person so I go for breast if I can. I wouldn't get the wings though, as they are just not as good as the other stuff on the menu. Their fries are AMAZING. They have this amazing seasoning on them that I just love. I'd highly recommend giving Reddi Chick a try! I personally go for other places in the country mart typically, just because Reddi Chick is not the healthiest option in the world. That being said, if you are in the mood for some chicken this is the place to go!

Robin S.

Yelp
So sad. I grew up eating here. Ordered food to be delivered but the chicken was so dry I couldn't eat it, even slathering it in bbq sauce. Such a bummer. But based on that, I wouldn't go back.
google avatar

Sassan Y.

Yelp
The chicken was good but the coleslaw was bad. The yard is great place to eat the food with a great vibe. The other big problem is the restaurant just accept cash so don't forget that!

Nancy H.

Yelp
Very disappointed in what we purchased. The chicken tenders were over cooked. The coleslaw was very peppery inedible.. the order of zucchini was over fried, dry and mushy. Over priced and low quality for what we paid. I loved the place years ago but not now.
google avatar

Amber K.

Yelp
I've been coming here for over 30 years. Recipes/seasoning/execution for fries and chicken haven't changed and that's a good thing! Corn didn't have much sweetness so must be out of season. Amazing and hit the spot
google avatar

Cynthia R.

Yelp
Locally legendary and rightly so. Not only is the food finger licking delicious, everyone behind the counter is so nice.
google avatar

Adrian C.

Yelp
The Deep Fried Scallop Basket is "$8.98" on the menu. The cashier rang up $9.80, the bill was $11.50. The two, 2 oz sides, baked beans and slaw, could fit in Trump's hand. Really? Shouldn't food be a celebration; not a ration?
google avatar

Kayla A.

Yelp
Best chicken tenders in LA!!! Have eaten here 20 years + everyone super friendly. Only thing cash only
google avatar

Joey T.

Yelp
Good sauce, but the chicken on the sandwich was chunky and more dry than I'd like. Fries and onion rings were a little basic too. I'll have to come back to try some beef and other options because I want to like Reddi Chick a bit more than the first experience.

Rexford P.

Yelp
Awful in every way. The price indicated on the menu has nothing to do with the far higher amount you're actually charged. Since it's cash-only, you only discover you've been taken when you receive small amounts of change in your hand. The fish? A greasy mess. You're cheated on the bill. You paid how much for that??? Really??? Then you're cheated with unacceptably ghastly food. Face it, you're cheated in every way. 1 star is too generous!

Yelp
Reddi "Rip Off" Chick BBQ is located in the "The Country Mart" which is a small playground for rich people to spend their money. The food court consists of high priced, mediocre food at best. I came in early for lunch at around 11:30am and there was no parking with a line going out to the street. STRIKE 1. When I finally made it to Reddi Chick, I ordered chicken nuggets with cole slaw. It came with 7 small breaded nuggets with two very small sides of BBQ sauce. The cole slaw came in a small cup. For this I paid $7.85. (See photo) STRIKE 2. Although the cole slaw was quite good, the chicken nuggets are comparable to what you get at McDonalds. And McDonalds has better sauces. STRIKE 3. After all was said and done, I was still hungry. I ended up spending another dollar at Jack In The Box for a hamburger just to get me through the rest of the afternoon. And to add insult to injury, they take cash only. Definitely not worth your time.
google avatar

Michelle T.

Yelp
I have been coming to Reddi Chick for over 25 years, i always get the dark meat chicken basket with fries and my kids over the years have loved the chicken tender baskets. I lived in Europe for many years and the chicken reminds me of the roast chickens and potatoes you can buy at the Farmers Markets. It is always delicious and the men who work there are polite and kind.
google avatar

Michelle W.

Yelp
I saw the line and I took a whiff of the chicken, and had high hopes for this place, but unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed. I stopped by for a late lunch and someone recommended that I get the chicken basket. As others mentioned, the people working there aren't the most friendly. I thought that the chicken was pretty dry actually, especially the part of the chicken right near the skin. It tasted dried out. The seasoning was good, but sticky. The fries were decent, but nothing really to rave about. They sprinkled some cajun seasoning on it, but again, I thought the seasoning was a bit light and didn't have much flavor. Might be nice to have it a bit spicier.
google avatar

Karen L.

Yelp
I love you Reddi Chick! We have been eating here for about 25 years and it never disappoints. The Brentwood Country Mart has changed...a lot, but Reddi Chick remains the same. The roasted chicken all white meat is my favorite. I love the Fried Clam basket as well. Today I felt young so I had the Chicken Tender Basket. All baskets come with skinny fries and the world's greatest BBQ sauce. Ask for extra. The fries are crispy and salted with special salt. For moist, fall-off-the-bone chicken, this is the place, for the kid in all of us.
google avatar

Christina S.

Yelp
We only had the one shrimp and French fries basket here so far and that was a winner. There was enough to split between my daughter and me. The shrimp was breaded (not batter) so that was a huge plus! The French fries were ok. Service is quick. PS. They don't accept credit cards!
google avatar

Kamron H.

Yelp
Had the seafood and fries plate here. It came with with fried fish, fried shrimp, fried scallops, and fried clams. Deep fried is the way to go here plus they still manage to keep the seafood juicy too.
google avatar

Jasenka F.

Yelp
I have wanted to try this place for so long, (about a decade) to be precise and I finally seized the opportunity while I was in the area. It's not that easy to find initially. You have to walk through the Farmshop, which is an upscale bourgie market/restaurant with people sipping on wine. As soon as you exit, you are transported to the much more frugal side of the country mart. The choices are, Reddi Chick, a taco joint or burgers. At Reddi Chick, I ordered two baskets of chicken tenders with fries and a side of BBQ beans and coleslaw. I saw the guy behind the counter open a bag of frozen chicken tenders, my expectations instantly sank. Not surprisingly, what came out was the most driest pieces of chicken in a cardboard like coating. The fries were not much better, so skinny you could hardly pick them up. The beans had a very funky taste. Everything tasted so dry, bland and sodium infused, you need to drink a gallon of water afterwards. The best thing was the coleslaw, but even that was watery. Needless to say I'm glad I checked that one off the list. Won't be back anytime soon.
google avatar

Jim B.

Yelp
If you haven't had the opportunity to try this place, put it on your radar and go as soon as possible. They have the greatest rotisserie chicken, the greatest coleslaw I have ever had, and great french fries. They also have a myriad of other items on their menu such as ribs and fish. Not to mention the Brentwood country Mart where it is located is such a cool place. I have been going there since I was a little child.
google avatar

Brooke D.

Yelp
They still only accept cash which is hugely inconvenient, and the line can get crazy on the weekends; no healthy options but the guys who work there are really fast and sweet and deserve all the tips they get, dealing w a lot of impatient and entitled customers. They are taking COVID seriously which is so important too.
google avatar

Amy G.

Yelp
Came here in April and got the kids chicken strips and fries which were quite good and the portion size was adequate. I also ordered the BBQ beef sandwich which tasted like dried shoe leather. After a year of being shut down from COVID they are trying to use up all their frozen meat or something.
google avatar

Maki S.

Yelp
I decided to give a shot to this BBQ chicken joint because there was a long line and the way restaurant looks. It looks like a classic authentic bbq chicken place. Well... soon I found out that the line was long because there was a guest in front of me had a huge order. Service was very slow and all of the staffs were not friendly at all. There were 3 staffs taking order. Staff #1 took my order. I told him that I want 1 order of BBQ chicken basket with a side of coleslaw, and a cornbread. Then staff #2 took my order again. I thought he was making sure but they were totally confused and double-triple checking my order. Totally disorganized and lack of communication!!! Also those staffs were rude and almost yelling at me while checking the order. I really hate to repeat my order more than twice. It really makes me feel uncomfortable. Portion is too small for its price. $14 for BBQ chicken "basket" which is 2 pieces of BBQ chicken with a very small side (I choose coleslaw) and a piece of corn bread without butter. It's definitely a ripoff!!! First of all, chicken was okay but a bit greasy and nothing special beyond that. Coleslaw was good but corn bread has no flavor at all and way too dry. I'm pretty sure that I can get some better food from KFC. I left unsatisfied and upset. I should get something from the burger place across the food court. I will never come back here again.
google avatar

Tricia M.

Yelp
I want to like this place with all the hype. But I don't. And I forget everytime I come to Brentwood Country Mart and I have a choice between burgers, Mexican food or chicken, and I get bbq chicken and fries and then kick myself for forgetting that I really don't like it. It's salty and the cut of chicken isn't great. The white meat is too dry. It's just not my jam. I should add that my husband loves it - and will continue ordering the bbq chicken so to each his own!
google avatar

Destiny M.

Yelp
Best baked potatoes! Very large and creative menu of different kinds of baked potatoes, I went with the Southwestern Chicken... yes... it also comes with chicken, guacamole, salsa, sour cream. Yum yum yum :') $4 is a steal Also got the chicken plate which is massive served with a pile of French Fries, all very worth the price and quality. Also... met Kate Hudson so it was a good lunch ‍.
google avatar

Elaine J.

Yelp
I've been coming here for about 10 years. Much longer than the guys who work there. I've seen people come and go. I keep coming back because the food is decent. Think comfort food. And the least pretentious in this side of town. Food has remained the same. Love the ribs and the chicken. Its the employees who need to get an attitude overhaul. They are beyond rude and racist. They immediately perk up and smile and give you A plus treatment when they see rich people in line or celebrities. I paid today for my order with $20 bucks. I should have received $10 something in change but only gives me coins. Guy insists I only gave them $10. But gives me the correct change eventually. He said he would come after me if their daily tally was wrong. HOW VERY RUDE AND INSULTING! After patronizing your establishment for 10 years and let the attitude slide all those years, this was the last straw.
google avatar

Terri D.

Yelp
Been coming here for 60 years. Best chicken and ribs and crispy fries in town. Be sure to ask for extra BBQ sauce. :)
google avatar

Chris H.

Yelp
I don't quite understand the 5 star reviews of this place. I got the BBQ chicken basket with fries, and although the fries were great, the chicken tasted like one I would get at the supermarket for $5, but instead I spent $20. My friends "chicken sandwich" was a piece of bread with a while breast shoved into it. Top this off with a $3.75 ice cream cone that should have cost $1-2 max, and all the pigeons giving you the death stare, it made for a disappointing dinner. I am sorry to say that I won't be going back.
google avatar

Janet O.

Yelp
This place used to be really good. Not sure why the quality went down. The only thing that was the same was the bbq sauce. All the old staff is gone, which makes me think that there was a change in ownership. It's too bad, hope they get it together. Don't think we will be back, unless reviews tell me otherwise.
google avatar

Travis I.

Yelp
Country Mart. Sweet spot for cougars, young berries, and all-around celebrity sightings. Reddi Chick: awesome for delicious rib and rotisserie chicken sightings. Tried their onion rings today. They were a little overcooked, but good nonetheless. Scored some nuggets today, also. My friend ended up with his usual Chicken Wing and Ribs basket. Chicken Nuggets reminded me of gourmet versions of the old Tyson nuggets I ate, as a child. Wings and ribs were on particularly large and tasty today. I was THIS close I---------I to getting a baked potato today. SO CLOSE, but the nuggets were calling my name. Next time, I swear... No, really.
google avatar

Steph C.

Yelp
The Brentwood Country Mart is quite the high end scene. Despite the fast casual eateries, the clientele is noticeably affluent, and skinny white girls with designer purses abound. I saw the ultimate example as I chowed down on my rotisserie from Reddi Chick - Agyness Deyn, in the flesh. I'd been to Reddi Chick once years ago, and was happy to come back as I remembered the chicken being pretty delicious. The place is no more than a take-out stand, with seating provided by the Country Mart. The staff is friendly and the line moves quick. I ordered the chicken and ribs basket, which came with a heaping side of fries. I regretted ordering the ribs. These were not good ribs. They were tough and dry and I didn't even finish one. I would have done better to stick with chicken, as the chicken was quite tasty. The dark meat was especially good, moist and very fatty. The white meat was a little bit dry at parts and the barbecue sauce was key. The fries were delicious, well-seasoned with crispy outsides. Between the chicken and fries, I had a good lunch, but I don't think this place is anything special. I've had better chicken and better fries, and the ribs were some of the worst I've ever tasted. I would come back with friends if we were looking for a quick bite in the area, but that's about it. Still, dark meat chicken and golden fries are a winning combination, and I can't say I didn't enjoy them.

Yelp
good chicken. Not a value though. I used to stop there years ago to get chicken and fries for my sons, but hadn't been there in years. Thought of them in trying to create some variety in our meals. We bought a 'whole chicken". It cost $17+. When we opened it at home, the chicken in the foil, etc, was small, maybe the size of a cornish game hen. Very little white meat, full thighs, legs and wings. Barely enough for the 3 of us, even with salad. I don't like to complain, but the Gelsons or Ralphs or Whole Foods chickens are just as tasty, and about 1/2 the cost (less if you factor in that those chickens are larger than the Reddi Chick one). I know this is a high-end part of town--but come on...

Yelp
This is a great place to go if your body needs an oil change. Yikes, it's greasy! That's probably what makes the chicken authentic. The stuff must be good because I ate a half-chicken and a mound of fries for lunch in about 10 minutes. The price is right: $7.34 plus tax for a very generous chicken basket. Wash it all down with a thick shake and you're good to hit the road again. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Been a fan of Reddi Chick for over 30 years-I've been frequenting since I was a kid. It never disappoints. I introduced my husband to the delicious chicken many moons ago and now bring our 10-year old and they've won him over. Cant go wrong with the delicious chicken basket!
