We were just walking by and decided to check out the restaurant for brunch. It was a Sunday around 1pm, it wasn’t too busy. Our server greeted us, he was super friendly! Our food was great, portions were perfect, we wanted to order the colossal shrimps but the server did warn us it will be too much food, so we decided to try the buttermilk onion rings, they were pretty good. The place looks big, definitely worth giving it a try.

Atmosphere was the best! Elevated just a little, overlooking the city streets with low lights! Very romantic & pleasant. Obviously we had outdoor seating. Our food was great as well. Limp crab cake and grilled shrimp 🍤 for me, my husband had a burger. Live music Thursday thru Saturday.

Go for happy hour. Felix, the bartender is friendly, creative and will craft your drinks perfectly. Order a couple of their fun bar bites. Portions are good to share for 2. Although I didn't order them, my brother told me they are definitely known for their dancing shrimp.

My wife and I were looking for a location to celebrate our son’s 20th birthday. The Redeye Grill surpassed our expectations. The venue was magnificent. The various pillars of New York City art was awe inspiring , the piano bar with live entertainment was the icing on the cake. The venue was immaculate. We were immediately transformed to what the family agreed was the roaring 20s with the modern NYC twist perfect for celebrating our son’s 20th birthday. Our birthday party consisted of about 14 people. The table was already set up when we arrived 15 minutes early we were greeted with open arms as if we knew each other. They greeted and treated us like family!!! The staff was beyond attentive. They understood the menu and our purpose for being there. We brought in our own cake to celebrate our son‘s birthday And a huge chunk of the restaurant staff brought the cake out with sparkling lights and beautiful voices to sing happy birthday to our son I am looking forward to going back, and of course the tray of chocolate chip cookie deliciousness was a sweet, unexpected treat. if there is one thing that I would add, would be a mini kids menu as one of our guest was a two-year-old and the pallet of a child is simple/ plain ❤️🙏🏼🎂🍪🍪

The place was amazing! We flew into JFK and were staying down the street at the Thompson (part of the Hyatt) and walk into the Redeye Grill for drinks which were amazing! Our family wanted to have dinner and we ask the manager on duty if they would entertain 6 of us! They not only setup a great table but staff went out of way to take care of us. The food, drinks, environment was absolutely ridiculously good! Did I mentioned the place was amazing!

Had a great experience here on a Tuesday before theater. Service was prompt and professional. Food and beverage were outstanding including our sushi and salads. The lobster Mac and cheese comes out with quite the presentation. Atmosphere was vibrant and a nice experience. Highly recommend this place.

Good morning. Sunday evening 31 March 2024 (it would be Easter evening 🐣) I came to dine at this "luxury" restaurant and I must say that the food is of the highest quality, the service is friendly and bearable and the final price is (for my expectations) very expensive!! I highly recommend this place to everyone…. it is also located in the Manhattan area near Central Park!

From the minute we arrived and Richard the Maitre d said, “How may I be of service?” he set the tone for what would be an excellent dining experience. Richard took such great care (he said we looked like we were still glowing from Valentine’s Day, he sent flutes of champagne over to our table, he called us by name and checked on is throughout). The entire team - Michael, Derek, and especially Maya took top tier service seriously and made our evening just beautiful. Thank you all. We were in the city for a concert at Carnegie Hall and my hubby made reservations at Redeye because it was across the street. Little did we know it would be the highlight of an evening topped only by Gregory Porter in concert. The ambiance, lighting, our cozy booth with cushions, the live music with piano accompaniment all contributed to the vibe. We felt like the Rat Pack could walk in at any minute (or John Wick at The NY Continental!!) Our food and cocktails were delectable. A diverse menu with lots of variety, but we went old school: a scrumptious Caesar with a delicious dressing, giant croutons and white anchovies, black truffle mashed potatoes, grilled Bronzino, brick oven chicken, sautéed spinach and a rich blackout chocolate cake. The bartender also showed up and showed out: our Old Fashion, specialty Manhattan, and gin Gimlet were delicious. Yes, yes, yes 👏🏾 This truly was a fantastic experience. We had a 2-hour dining experience and we didn’t want to leave.

Absolutely stellar service with very classic American decor! We had a fabulous lunch at Red-eye Grill, and the staff was amazing. They constantly checked to ensure that we had a good experience, and even offered some freshly baked cookies and cotton candy, on the house! Very unique experience indeed. The food itself was also wonderful. We all opted for the lunch set menu, and all the dishes were great. The crab cake was stuffed with crab, and the calamari was very crispy and well done! For entries, we all went for the fish dishes. Both the mahi mahi and teriyaki salmon were good, but the best was the salmon and wild mushrooms. The salmon was very well seasoned and delicate as well. The desserts were also good! Overall, a very amazing experience that I would highly recommend to try!

I visited your establishment today around 7:30 PM with a coworker and sat at the bar. We ordered two drinks and two small plates to eat. After finishing my drink, my coworker ordered a glass of wine. When it came time to pay the bill, we noticed an extra drink listed. We politely called the waiter over to address the issue. She insisted that we had four drinks, but we clarified that we only had three. She left and returned with another waiter, reiterating that we had four drinks. When I disagreed again, she said, "I'll take the drink off your bill since you've already spent too much money," in a very unprofessional and condescending tone. She then added that I shouldn't tip her because of how much I had already spent. Despite her attitude, I still tipped her $20, but she threw the money away in front of me, which was both shocking and offensive. For context, our total bill was only $87. Her behavior was completely out of line, especially in the hospitality industry where kindness and professionalism are key. I spoke to the manager, who was very apologetic, which I appreciated. However, I felt it was necessary to share this feedback to ensure that future customers don't have a similarly unpleasant experience. A friendly and professional demeanor goes a long way in creating a positive experience, and I hope this can be addressed with the staff moving forward.

Simple put staff at the Redeye Grill lack maturity and certainty not the maturity expected at a venerable place like this. Not reading the requests for reservation. Not asking if we have a show...we did. Not knowing the difference between balsamic vinegar vs a vinaigrette dressing. Not offering salt/pepper with a salad. Not following up on if chef could make a modification to an entree. Food runner did know who had which entree having to "go fishing. Having to be reminded to bring a desert menu or refill teas (twice). Wasn't expecting customer service perfection but would have appreciated service better than a fast food restaurant. Beet salad, seafood pasta (wine butter sauce instead of tomato base) and lobster roll were okay. Shrimp overcooked in pasta and it was light on lobster and lobster in roll was anemic and adding potato salad as a filler is a sin. Banana cream pie was very, very good. Btw, ambiance is great with a lot to see and generally a great vibe with tablec cloths, lots of rework and the classic sculpture of the woman opening the wine bottles.

After a walk in Central City park we couldn't have had a better spot to people watch in very comfortable outdoor seating for a few beverages before heading out for dinner. Prosecco was priced reasonable. Tip: make sure you ask for the happy hour menu, they don't advertise it. Service was top notch!

This place is pretty classy and always gets crowds from Carnegie hall. If you don't have a reservation you will probably be out of luck. We did get lucky but had to battle with the concert crowd. Be warned, if it's busy, they run out of food. For the 5 of us, all they had was filets. Everything we asked about was gone. I honestly don't think they prepare enough for the crowds they get. The filets were good but not spectacular. Service took an extremely long time as well. Its worth a try for the ambiance but not much else.

This is a cute neighborhood spot that my friend loves. We shared the sushi and lobster mac and cheese while the live music played. The bar area is right in front, so it is hard to miss the grand piano. The service was top-notch and attentive. I felt like we had great treatment. The Lobster Mac and Cheese meal was very generous. I had enough to take home for seconds. It is a nice place to drop in and get dinner or just relax at the bar while live music plays.

We had dinner here for our anniversary. Our server Andrew was very professional and friendly. The food was very good, I highly recommend the French dip sandwich and the chocolate cake. The piece of cake was enormous and delicious, we couldn't finish it and we shared a piece! Highly recommend if you are staying near Broadway.

WOW, we had the best experience here for my friend's birthday dinner. The staff were incredible, sweet attentive and even brought out cotton candy for my friend's birthday. All of the food was incredible aside from the truffle mashed potatoes. The lobster mac and cheese was INCREDIBLE. The burger was delicious and my friend got the steak which she loved. They had live music and the performer was phenomenal. All around fantastic experience, beautiful restaurant, amazing staff and great food. What more can you ask for?

Friendly service, complimentary Prosecco while you wait for your table. Top notch cheeseburger and Miso Black Cod. Good wine list as well. Busy and bustling but service did not suffer.

Didn't think much of it from outside but inside is a whole another story! This is an awesome restaurant. We were staying across the street and saw it from our window every day. Finally on our last night, we decided to try it out and so glad we did! First of all they have live music - this was Saturday night. This lady was singing beautifully and playing piano. Really nice! Secondly they have these murals on the wall although some of the depictions on there are quite interesting lol. Thirdly the cozy atmosphere because of the beautiful lighting and decor and comfortable seating really makes this a great space. We ordered a few dishes and shared between three of us - iceberg lettuce salad, spinach salad, flatbread and sushi. Everything was great. They even brought over a huge tray of fresh baked cookies and we could each take one - they went table to table. I asked for hot water and they brought a cute little kettle of it with a cup. Overall great experience here, definitely recommend!

I chose this restaurant based on the reviews and I wasn't disappointed. I had the grilled bronzino with sautéed spinach. It was very tasty and seasoned very well. Service was good from the waiting staff. I had no complaints about this restaurant. Glad I went here to tried some good food.

What I expected before walking in here was not the reality of my visit. I was anticipating a classic diner, 1950s style. I was wrong. Like really wrong. It was much more upscale than I pictured. It was a pleasant surprise and experience. I started with the clam chowder. While it was delicious it was a small portion for the price. Out came my cashew brussel sprouts. They had an excellent flavor and sweet glaze. I enjoyed them and it was a nice sized portion. I would say that on my next visit I would ask them to be a little crispier but that is just my preference. Finally was the watermelon salad. What a perfect dish! Refreshing a with a mix of all the right components. A little sweet, salty ,crisp and balanced. The service was fine. They also gave our Hilton Grand Vacation discount with no issues. A little pricey but it was convenient to our hotel and we wanted something new. I would come back.

Enjoyed my first time experience here last week. We came early for a work related brunch. We were welcome warmly upon our arrival. Food is good, fresh & delicious. I had caesars salad, salmon, roasted veggies, & cheesecake for dessert. Servers are efficient & helpful. Clean bathrooms are clean. The venue is classy with flowers & interesting art on its walls. It is also spacious, compared to most places in midtown. Recommends this place especially for bigger groups & special occassions.

Ambiance romantic, however there was a group enjoying life next to us! The service was good, and attentive. I ordered the unlimited brunch bellinis and my husband the mules, we were content with both! Still wondering what the dancing shrimp are lol...but, the tuna tartare and shrimp were super fresh, and melted in your mouth!

Perfect for a quick dinner before a show at Carnegie. Food was moderately priced for the City. Sushi was delicious and salmon bowl was light and healthy with good flavor. Service at the bar was fast and overall crowd was nice.

The food here is always exciting and delicious. My favorite dish was the real crab Meat/avocado roll it was fresh with a real party in my mouth. The yellow tail sashimi was amazing the fish was fresh seasoned to perfection. All the the dishes were superb true elegance. The service was excellent the server explained all the dishes in detail answering all questions.

We decided to stop here for lunch while visiting the city and I'm so happy we did. Everything was AMAZING! The service was top tier. Also, the chocolate that's waiting for you on your way out has to be the best piece of chocolate I've ever tasted. Can't wait to return.

First Impression- this is a pretty big restaurant... the lighting was dim and cozy, the servers were all busy buzzing back and forth. Lots of talk and the clink of utensils being used. I came for a drug rep dinner and we were placed in a private room in the back. It was well is insulated and the noise of the main dining room didn't interrupt our dinner and presentation. The Noms - Appetizers:::: Little Gem Caesar salad - I love a good Caesar, but this one had too much dressing. The garlic bread they served it with was super buttery and garlicky. It was perfect. I had a second helping. The calamari - pretty good and same as anywhere else you get them. I forgot to take a picture but that's because they were the first to go and I had to make sure that I got a sample. I wish the serving was a bit bigger. Charred asparagus - this one was good as far as flavor went, but the asparagus spears were a little limp and I like my asparagus spears to be crisp. Brussels sprouts - they're not always my first choice of apps to order as these are always dependent on how they were made.. but I actually really enjoyed these the Thai peanut sauce really made them stand out.. I would get these again before the asparagus. Entrees::: Seafood Fruttii di Mare - this is the entrée I selected, and I was highly disappointed... the pasta was al dente, but the sauce was bland. Nothing to write home about. And I expected the seafood (lobster, shrimp, etc) to be served alone and not in a pasta, which they didn't specify on the menu... or I wouldn't have ordered it. Prime Filet Mignon- I had some of my friend's order. The fillet was delicious, prepared, medium, rare, and served with a side of fries. I'd probably get this if I ever came back. Dessert, banana cream pie - it was really good and the chocolate shavings on top of the whipped cream took it up a notch. I haven't had banana cream pie in a really long time and I really enjoyed this. Chocolate chip cookies and chocolate dipped strawberries - this last bit was an extra after dinner snack (plus coffee, but I didn't want any) I managed to squeeze in a couple of strawberries (they tasted homemade, yum!) and mini cookies, they were the perfect size. In Conclusion: this wasn't the best steakhouse that I've ever been to, but it was a drug rep and it was free so I enjoyed my dinner here. I wish they would've specified on the menu that the dish I ordered was a pasta dish because I didn't want pasta. I might consider coming back, but with so many other steakhouses. I would want to try something new before coming back here.

Had a nice lunch here, bar-side, on a Friday afternoon. Happened to be restaurant week so went with the $30 app/ lunch entree combo which was great and filling. Tried the calamari + chicken cobb salad (tossed tableside). Everything was tasty, service was prompt (Katie was very friendly!). Also got a side of onion rings which were fresh and tasty! Would come back again!

Redeye is an old school American grill with an emphasis on seafood. They do offer steaks and ribs, but salmon, branzino, lobster rolls, clam chowder and shrimp are what you'll mostly see. The food was fresh and the restaurant has a nice ambiance with some outdoor seating too. The place is not cheap though, but that is typical for restaurant in this part of the city - especially one that is right across the street from Carnegie Hall. They do have a happy hour Monday to Friday from 3:00pm to 6:00pm, and that is the best time of the week to visit. There are $10 cocktails, $6 beers, and some cheap appetizers too.

My family and I had dinner here before going to see a show at Carnegie Hall. Located conveniently across the street from Carnegie Hall. We order the fried calamari, brick chicken, salmon and wild mushrooms, redeyes sushi burger and banana cream pie for dessert. Everything was delicious. Service was excellent.

It was a beautiful, sunny and warm late October afternoon as my friend and I settled into a large table on the 56th St. side patio of the restaurant. We proceeded to tuck into the prix fixe lunch ($39). The starter was an absolutely delicious Caesar salad, then came blackened Mahi-mahi and then New York cheesecake for dessert. Everything was just splendid including the service. So good, in fact that I wanted to go back the next day for a repeat, but only have that amazing Caesar salad. This time I sat outside on the 7th Avenue-facing patio and within a few minutes, and aggressive homeless man seemed to take over nearby steps and started vaping marijuana, it seemed, or some sort of other smelly substance. So I wanted to move inside-- and this was not accomplished smoothly. I had ordered iced tea and they'd given me a straw and a container with various sugars for it. Somehow this, along with my glass of ice water, never made it to my new table and I was left completely ignored. I should also say the manager first tended to the homeless guy before me. He should've moved me inside first - so that showed his priorities. I had to wait and watch this unpleasant scene. At an inside table, it was hard to hail down a waiter and I had said I wanted to talk to the manager who finally came over and instead of being gracious and apologetic was confrontational and belligerent and yelled at me - "there is no check!" Really? This was all so simple and I did not deserve to be yelled at in such a manner when the service was so sloppy and I was roundly ignored.

This place is amazing! The staff are so friendly and welcoming. The pre fix menu was on point. Large portions and everything was delicious! We loved our waiter, funny as hell. And when I said it was my daughter's birthday, they went above and beyond to make her day special. Dean even made her a Mocktail with cotton candy. Loved it!

Came here on marathon day after a long day of walking around the city. Was greeted with a wonderful man with a tray of cookies, but after that the service started to decline. The bar tender was very inattentive and rude. He ignored us majority of the time and was very short. He was also hands deep in a bag of nuts while preparing drinks which for someone with an allergy is not an appealing site. Overall wouldn't go back, but shout out the cookie guy!

Really fun american seafood spot that is warm friendly and has a fun vibe to it. Great drink menu, amazing Carribean like bar feel to it as well. Tons of fish and seafood with a healthy mix of burgers and pasta too. Clearly something for everyone. Not crazy expensive and the portions are pretty good too. Service was just okay. Friendly but not helpful and certainly not attentive. Btw food is presented in a fun and unique way

We came here on a Saturday evening before a show at Carnegie hall and had their filet and salmon. The patio is very spacious and great for a summer evening. The service was also good. Food was decent . Will probably try again.

I found myself at Redeye Grill the other night for an educational dinner. I haven't been to one of these in a while, so I was looking forward to a little learning while trying somewhere new. What augmented my excitement was that I had never been to Redeye before, so I was not only gaining some knowledge but also exploring a restaurant that was new to me. The menu looked good, so I was looking forward to checking out their offerings. Redeye sits on the ground floor of an office building in Midtown West. The exterior is striking with its floor-to-ceiling windows, and that continues inside with it's almost eclectic interior. The aesthetics are bold, with contrasting colors that pop without being tacky. The restaurant is called the "home of the dancing shrimp", but don't expect any large crustaceans busting a move - this is actually one of their apps (I'm taking a mental note to try it next time). As with other educational dinners I have been to, the menu was prix fixe - apps were chosen for us, and we chose our entrée and dessert. We were started with chips and guac, corn salad, and a selection of sushi. I'm not a fan of corn so I didn't partake, but the others were quite good. The chips were thick, restaurant style and the guac was nice and chunky. The sushi selection was generous - we were given four rolls that were all super fresh. We then moved onto Caesar salad - this was dressed nicely and came with these flavorful croutons which were large and crispy but also soft enough to bite through (ie, they didn't go flying across the table after sticking a fork in them). We were also served warm garlic bread during this time which was delicious mmm. For my main, I chose the filet mignon; the beef was cooked well with good flavor, and it came with fries which were better than I expected. We were also served sides of potatoes and asparagus. Both of these were good, especially the asparagus which was a nice reprieve from the carbs and protein. We had our choice of dessert between chocolate cake and cheesecake; I chose the latter, which was just okay. There was a hard layer on top of the cake which was kind of odd, and overall it wasn't the best NY-style cheesecake I've had. Service was great, everyone was super attentive and friendly. Overall, I was really impressed with Rideye Grill - I usually don't get the best of a restaurant when I attend educational dinners, but what I got here was good and prompted me to return for another visit. In a sea of dime-a-dozen restaurants in Midtown, this is one of the more memorable ones.

I visited Redeye Grill with friends of mine from France. I knew the area but didn't want to impose my suggestions on the group. I figured you couldn't go wrong for lunch in the area so when they suggested Redeye, I said, "Why not?" The service was so good that even my French companions (who are used to the notorious arrogance of restaurants in France), remarked on how good it was. I hate the fact that I can't remember the name of our waitress. If I'm ever around again I'll try to get her name to update this review. She was very patient with the group. We had to do a lot of translating among ourselves to figure out the menu. Kudos to her! The Pris Fixe Menu was perfect and had several options for all appetites. I went with the Calamari and Branzino. The New York Cheesecake was the dessert of choice for half the table. We also ordered a bottle of white wine. As I replay the whole experience, I can't really detract any points for anything. So if you're in the area for lunch, don't hesitate to stop by.

Popped in before a show. The restaurant wasn't busy so I was seated quickly. Staff was really friendly. The drink was not quite what I anticipated for a mule but it was refreshing. The pasta was tasty! There was Light music playing and the restaurant was spacious! I enjoyed the experience.

I didn't expect such a big place! I love the space which was filled with classy decor and somehow still feels intimate. Food: Delicious! They have complimentary fresh baked cookies they pass out and cotton candy. So fun and whimsical. The menu features something for everyone including a carnivore, pescatarian, and vegan. They are famous for the dancing shrimp! Service is 5 stars. This is a classy place. Great for date night or big group. This is the best of New York. Highly recommended.

We tried this place out for our holiday dinner. Made reservations and we were shocked the restaurant was half empty on for Christmas dinner. Our server was great and our food was delicious! For the price we paid the meal portions were really small, but the dessert servings were huge. Our "adult children" were super excited to have been served cotton candy- it made our 17 and 22 year old light up with huge smiles like they just saw their Christmas gifts under the tree.

thank you Red eye for quickly seating us and getting our food ready quickly since we were going to see a show across the street at Carnegie Hall. However, the food was overpriced for what we had. Nicely presented but not worth it. I ordered a lobster which I had been craving for a while. When I tell you there might have been 6 pieces of lobster might be to many. They also add potato salad i side the roll which is pure mayonaisse or whatever condiment you use for it. The roll itself was great. The portion is huge but realistically your getting bread and Mayo. The French fries have a little rosemary taste which is a nice touch. Fish and chips the fish was bland. The crab cakes was beautifully presented as well but no real flavor if you didn't have any of the drizzle. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the staff is very friendly. But the food does it no justice.

Great dinning option in midtown for after a show or anytime really. Stopped here Friday evening they had love music. Our drinks service and food was great

Duly impressed with Redeye Grill - the ambiance is incredible - 5 stars! Let's go to the food - ordered the Spaghetti Pomodoro, lobster Mac and cheese, miso glazed rock cod, spicy tuna and avocado roll, filet mignon - 5 stars. Desserts - New York cheesecake and the blackout chocolate cake. Delicious! Can't wait to return on my next visit to NYC.

OMG! Absolutely the best Lobster Roll I have ever eaten. Packed with lobster, this roll was so delicious. The ambiance was quiet and relaxed and the service was excellent. Highly recommend having a nice meal here.

Omg!!! Ordered my son's meal incorrectly- meal came out when rest of us were done. $145 for 5 glasses of wine??????? Really?!??!?

Poor experience, in an area with so many great restaurants, give this one a pass. The coconut shrimp still had their heads, were overcooked, and tasted awful. Salad really left something to desire as well. Service was painfully slow and added to the overall misery.

Looking for a place for dinner before catching a Broadway show? This is the place! Located right across from Carnegie Hall. This was the perfect all American restaurant to get dinner with friends. Price of food is mid-range. Ambiance is nice with live music weekend nights - not too loud though where you can't hear your friends when they are talking. Also lighting isn't dark inside at night and during the day has good natural lighting from windows. Dress attire - we wore jeans. Seafood is amazing, that is what they are known for, but there are plenty other options for non-seafood eaters. Service was on point. We told the waiter we had an 8 pm show to get to and he made sure our food was out on time.

I've been returning here for over 25 years now and it never disappoints. First discovered on a business trip to NYC, we've since made this our "go-to" choice when attending events at Carnegie Hall as it's just across 7th Avenue from the storied stage. The ambiance is lively and the servers are attentive and knowledgeable. On our most recent visit, we eased into our groove with some lovely cocktails, Spritz for me (aperol, passion fruit, lime, Prosecco yum) and the house Old Fashioned for my husband, uniquely made with bergamot syrup and coffee bitters. Great selection of appetizers- we tried the Sushi burger - highly recommend this! We also shared Dancing Shrimp which is a staple for us when dining here. My husband also had a dragon roll which he said was great. For our main we both had the Chilean sea bass in coconut ginger sauce. This fish was so well prepared and the sauce was fragrant and flavorful. It came with a rice pilaf that had subtle Indian flavors and was perfect accompaniment. We also split a side of charred asparagus and it was possibly best asparagus I've ever tasted! Sadly no room for dessert - because the banana cream pie is other-worldly here. We did wind down with some port which was a good finish before our big night of music.

We had two lovely dinners here during our stay in NYC. The service is top notch, and the food is delicious. The atmosphere is fun lively- and the chairs are comfy! This is a great spot if you're celebrating a special occasion, or just want to dine somewhere on a casual night. They made my 8-year old son feel very special and treated him to mini cookies and cotton candy at the end. Thank you Redeye Grill! We will be back.

Enjoyable restaurant with nice selection of sushi close to Columbus Circle & Carnegie Hall. Very friendly staff with a vibrant atmosphere. Live music added to the atmosphere without being overwhelming. Comfortable accommodation while waiting for the food The selection of wines & spirits was impressive.
