The 19 Best Brunch Spots In Seattle

"This Rainier Beach cafe has the kind of energy where you might spark up a conversation with someone reading a Roxanne Gay book, and suddenly you’re trading family banana bread recipes. Not to mention that the dining room is bursting with great vegetarian and vegan food, including savory biscuits topped with thick thyme gravy. And if the sit-down brunch you had planned turns into a quick coffee and pastry, that works, too. Join the groups of cyclists who had the same idea, and grab an orange roll or cayenne mocha." - aimee rizzo, kayla sager riley, gabe guarente

The 10 Best Restaurants In Rainier Beach

"Now that robot baristas exist, going to a cafe that feels like you’ve just stumbled into someone's home is pretty refreshing. And Redwing has the kind of warm neighborhood energy that a titanium arm steaming your milk just can’t provide. Plus, they serve great vegetarian and vegan food here too, like biscuits topped with thick thyme gravy that screams “November.” Or vegetable hash that involves a hodgepodge of whatever’s in season, finished off with a drizzle of vibrant herb-infused oil. Come here for a sit-down brunch, or a quick coffee and pastry if your Saturday morning becomes busier than expected. " - kayla sager riley, aimee rizzo

Google
10/10!! This spot was on my list for a while and boy did it not disappoint. From the atmosphere to the food, everything was exceptional and reasonably priced. Tons of options for everyone in your group — vegans, vegetarians, gluten free. The vegan biscuit was amazing!!

Google
BREAKFAST SANDWICH WAS SPECTACULAR! Best sandwich I’ve had 2025! Also got a mocha with oat milk. 😋 2/3 scrambled eggs with red onions, tomatoes, with a crispy toast and some chipotle mayo. Every bite had me wanting to order another one. Came with a side of potatoes and this filled me up perfectly. Highly recommend this place. 🤩

This neighborhood cafe offers a charming and welcoming atmosphere. The staff who I think is the owner, is friendly and he took some time to explain about the artist of the paints that were displayed and we briefly has a small chat about my country. I have been to this cafe twice so far. The cappuccino and the latte are really good and the food is great. The service is excellent, too. I enjoy coming here by myself to relax. Now I’m debating if I should introduce this place to my husband or not… 😆 Pic: redwing tlt (v) and hummus toast (v) Divine!

Google
The owner was very nice and friendly. Lots of great vegan/vegetarian options. I tried the biscuits and gravy with buttermilk biscuit and it gave a great impression of classic biscuits and gravy without the heaviness. My friend really liked the harambe salad. The mocha and oat milk lattes were delicious. Their is a larger downstairs and outdoor seating area that is beautiful.

Google
While on a visit to Seattle I stopped into Redwing Cafe, lured by the vegetarian and vegan options. It did not disappoint! The breakfast sandwich was amazing and the vegan almond croissant was the perfect combination of crunchy and gooey - it was absolutely delicious! I enjoyed the food and atmosphere so much I retuned the next morning and brought my friends. The food and coffee were once again delicious and the service was excellent. I got more pastries to go - another almond croissant and a cranberry walnut scone. SO GOOD. If you like a great atmosphere, good people and excellent vegetarian and vegan food, you have to go to Redwing Cafe.

Google
Really cute vegetarian cafe with lots of breakfast options. Very comfort level food if you need a healthy hit. Though I do wish there was more of a kick to the flavor. Overall not complaining.

Google
Came for some coffee and a quick bite. Petit vegetarian spot. I had the hummus toast. It was light and delightful but nothing out of the ordinary. Convenient place to catch up with your dietary restricted friends.

Google
For a vegetarian place, this cafe serves amazing food. It was not hard for me to find seating this Saturday morning. I had the sesame bun, latte, and tomato soup. All the pastries did not have a shortening taste which is something I encounter with a lot of vegetarian or vegan places. I saw some food other people were having and the portions looks great. Even though you make your own orders, the servers are still kind enough to make sure that everything is good. I stayed here for a couple hours while I waited for a car repair, so I am bummed that this place isn't close to where I live so I can visit more often. There is free wifi for you to do some work as well, and the vibe is really relaxing (especially downstairs).

Yelp
Staff was 5/5 and super welcoming and friendly. My husband and son liked what they ordered (potatoes rancheros with eggs), and thought it was delicious, but my daughter and I were not that impressed with the biscuits and gravy. We ordered it because it was mentioned in Yelp as being good. Thought it was too dry and had more of a cornbread texture than a biscuit. The gravy was also just okay. I wouldn't order it again. Thought it was very pricey for the size of the order.

Yelp
4.5 stars Cute, cozy cafe with an earthy interior. Simple menu with some brunch and lunch items. The vegetarian biscuits & gravy ($13.5) were excellent. The latte was very tart. Also had a bite of one of the pastries (orange roll) and it was flakey and delightful!

Yelp
delicious food, kind staff, and was within walking distance from our Airbnb. It wasn't too busy but had a steady stream of customers, and the baked goods looked and smelled divine. also gluten free and vegan friendly, which I appreciate.
google avatar

Yelp
Loved the place. Best ever avocado toast and perfect poached eggs. Granola is to die for. And the owners are sweet and charming.

Yelp
I was in the neighborhood tried out this place. Pretty good! We had the breakfast sandwich , few pastries and coffee. Really good! My favorite was the cocoa nib cookies, and the orange pastries . Amazingly delicious! Give it a try, you will not be disappointed! Service was friendly and fast, and the ambiance of the place is cozy and with good tunes! Enjoy!

Yelp
I ordered the Rainer Beach Breakfast and a vanilla latte. My meal was very delicious and you can taste the freshness. I love a good vegan/GF restaurant. Services was good and great. I will definitely be back. This is the perfect spot for a light breakfast with a lot of flavor. One thing I do enjoy on my potatoes that they didn't have was syrup(pancake syrup). Usually I have to have it to go with my potatoes but the toast w/jam went perfectly with it! Great cute spacious spot! It has a upstairs and downstairs!

Yelp
Perfect location near my stylist shop. Early morning appointments this is the perfect vegan options. Vegan biscuits and gravy were really good. The avocado toast was also amazing too. My husband had the non-vegan breakfast he also enjoyed. Parking can get full around the area. Will try more menu items next time.

Yelp
Perfect neighborhood coffee shop/breakfast place. Food was simple but delicious. Plus great baked goods made on-site for breakfast. Very friendly staff too. My new fav place in South Seattle/Seward Park for an early weekend breakfast.

Yelp
I was at a business meeting in Tukwila and this cafe showed up on Yelp. Rainier Beach is a cute area of Seattle- I had never been! The cafe is located on a side street- parking wasn't the easiest to find. The cafe itself is super cute! Amazing back patio area with local art and comfortable tables. The two people I met - the guy cooking (thinking he is the owner) abs the girl making the drinks and running food were super nice! You felt so welcomed walking in. All the pastries were homemade- the almond croissant- OMG- soooo good!! I ordered the rancho jueovos (spelling) and my friends ordered the avocado toast- all delicious and freshly made. To top it off- the iced tea was delicious. We will be back! Highly recommend.
google avatar

Gokul G.

Yelp
Great food and service! Do checkout the seating in the backyard downstairs. Parking is a bit tight but was able to find street parking.
google avatar

Susan R.

Yelp
Very cool vibe and excellent food and service. Initial reaction is how small it is. But, plenty of additional seating downstairs.

Carina B.

Yelp
I've been coming here for years to study, read, or just get out of the house for a bit. Best orange roll around, but they can sell out quick! Always friendly service. I feel lucky to live so close.

Yelp
One of the best egg breakfast places for us is this cafe in Seattle . When we first visited Seattle, we came here randomly not knowing we would fall in love with the food. Never had anything like this in LA. Not that we have shifted here. Cant stop ourselves to come to this place now and then. They were closed for a longtime. When they did open, we were their on the first weekend itself. They have extended to a beautiful outside area on their backyard, but the food not that good as before:- Veggie Sandwich:- It comes with a side of fruit filled with cheese and veggies. It was good, fresh. Avocado toast:- Skip this one, you would find a better version someplace else. Rainier beach breakfast:- 2 eggs with toast and roasted potatoes. So their roasted potatoes are to die for when we had it for the first time but this time they were not even fully cooked. Do get their side of apple butter which is just yumm. Potatoes Rancheros:- my better half just loved this dish especially their mexican chili sauce, which sadly they have changed which tastes not even near good as before. Egg sandwich with roasted potatoes:- The eggs were baked beautifully, when you eat the sandwich as whole you can not tell that you are eating egg. Liked the sandwich. Danish pastry:- OMG this was yum. Had to stop myself to take a pic. hehe Cafe Latte:- It was good. Not too bitter. Warm cup of coffee in Seattle rain, Perfect. Cappuccino:- Nice frothy, bit bitter for me. Liked the latte more. Hot chocolate:- Emm, skip this one. Overall, this cafe is always going to be a hit spot. Service is A1, on all our visits. Pricey as compared to the quantity of food served.

Yelp
Exactly what I was looking for today, a quaint neighborhood breakfast spot, with delicious food and coffee. The staff were very friendly and inviting, I got my order within minutes of sitting down and the food was fresh, perfectly cooked and seasoned, a nice subtle spice level. The coffee was balanced and strong. I had a flat white and potatoes rancheros. Thank you Redwing Cafe!

Yelp
Came here the other day for the first time and won't be coming back anytime soon. The drip coffee I ordered was not drinkable. It was dark colored water . For the cost it was probably one of the worst coffees if not the worst I've had in WA state. Ps if you're walking your dog in the morning and want to grab a snack you need to skip this place. This place is vehemently not dog friendly even if you're in line for a to go order.
google avatar

Kirstie C.

Yelp
If you've been waiting like me, they're officially open again! They're doing a hybrid semi-table service now and fully updated the back patio area! Food is just as good as before and a great neighborhood spot.
google avatar

Yelp
Tried this place this morning and LOVED it. Friendly staff, delicious food, cozy decor. My son also discovered the magic that is truly fresh squeezed orange juice and may never look back :). A lovely spot.
google avatar

Devin K.

Yelp
Being dairy free for years now I finally have found a place that does vegan almond croissants :O and they're fire. Also would recommend their London fog. Very well balanced.

January L.

Yelp
I have left only a handful of reviews here, but I'm inspired by others who have pointed out that the owner lacks tact. My husband and I just stopped by for coffee and a muffin. We're traveling and decided to eat the muffin (served on a ceramic plate) at Redwing and then take the coffees to go. We sat down to eat the delicious blueberry muffin only to have the owner scold us for not using ceramic mugs while dining in. We explained that we were heading out and did so. The coffee and muffin were terrific, but the scolding was unpalatable.
google avatar

Anita A.

Yelp
My friends & I have been frequenting Redwing after our classes. It's given us a real chance to try various drinks and pastries. I generally don't go for vegan pastries preferring all the bad stuff like butter But mostly they've been great with few exceptions. Customer service is excellent too! Summer is great to enjoy the backyard tables. Overall a nice neighborhood hangout!
google avatar

Sam C.

Yelp
There's lots of vegetarian options. I got a egg sandwich with roasted potatoes. It was delicious and definitely hit the spot. The food came out fast and the servers made me feel right at home. The place is quaint, with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Highly recommend if you're in the area.
google avatar

Amber D.

Yelp
This place was hopping and seemed like a busy neighborhood hangout. There are 2 levels and an outdoor space with heaters. Unfortunately for me, they didn't have many gluten free options, but the pastries looked pretty good. I ended up ordering a veggie scramble, which was fine. My main gripe is that they told me I couldn't have my Starbucks cup while I was dining there. I was outside away from most of their customers & pointed out that they didn't offer a matcha latte. The gentleman offered to put it in one of their mugs, but I decided to take my food to go. Overall, the staff seemed nice, but this just rubbed me the wrong way since I still purchased something from them.
google avatar

Jill P.

Yelp
Cozy place to grab brunch with lots of vegetarian and GF options. Service is always extra friendly. I've enjoyed everything I've gotten, but particularly enjoy the biscuits and gravy and avocado toast. They have a lot of great rotating pastry options that are delightful ( the scones, sticky buns, and the orange croissant are some of my favorites).
google avatar

Joaquin B.

Yelp
I like the toast 10/10 I would come back but I don't live in this state and it very nice here

Kevin L.

Yelp
Got the seasonal vegetable hash and harambe salad (iirc tahini dressing?). Both were tasty, ambiance outback under the roof was wonderful, everybody was kind.
google avatar

Emily T.

Yelp
We were looking for vegan friendly food in the area and stumbled across this place. I'm SO glad we did! So many fantastic vegan options including their pastries. We got the seasonal veggie hash with tofu and it was amazing! We also ordered a delicious vegan blueberry muffin and two coffees. Everything was superb and the service was wonderful as well. I'm so happy we found this place and we can't wait to return!

Yelp
This a a super eclectic, super popular place that caters towards vegetarians and vegans. Just the look of the outside tells you that you're going to walk into somewhere a bit funky, and the inside does not disappoint that expectation. Completely mismatched furniture and decor down to the silverware. While it's not polished, it definitely has a charm to it. Restaurant was definitely cleaned regularly and the service was good. Order at the counter, they'll deliver food to your table. Bus station crammed into an awkward location that became quite problematic to get around as the place filled up with hungry patrons. When I first arrived it was super chill and there were few people, by the time I was leaving there was a line out the door! You know this place is good if people are willing to see a huge line and still continue to wait! Funky Seattle parking, you know... the usual. If you're willing to walk a few blocks it's super easy to find free parking in the neighborhoods nearby. There's a bus stop right outside, so I think it's safe to say it's pretty easy to get to on public. I had the biscuits and gravy - definitely one of my favourite breakfast items that I can very rarely order because everyone uses real country gravy. Redwing offers this dish in both vegetarian and vegan versions along with several other items on the menu. Good coffee, good food. This is definitely a great place for brunch....but get here early!!

Yelp
That is a lie. Your camera will show how i have shown my service dog license because you asked for proof which i provided then u questioned my dog's service purpose for my disability. I have people around me to witness it and they will put a review on this to say what you claimed is very untrue! Def not coming back! Your approach did not indicate that u har experience with service dog or deaf people at all. U kept talking to us even though we asked for paper and pen to write. When we left after dealing with your ignorance it was a good 5 minutes to deal w your rude behavior

Yelp
Came here for brunch on a Seahawks Sunday. We didn't want to venture into Seattle and was trying to discover some good eats near our home. We stumbled upon this gem on yelp and decided to check it out! Super cute, hole in the wall vibes! Kinda reminded us of cafes we stumbled on during our last Portland trip! We ordered two main dishes and 2 drinks and it came to about $30. I went with the Rainer beach breakfast, substituting toast for biscuits and potatoes for fruit. My fiancé ordered the egg sandwich with roasted potatoes. The egg sandwich has baked egg which was really tasty, tomato, onion and arugula! Simple but tasty! In terms of drinks we ordered a London fog with soy and latte! Seating was limited upstairs but they have additional seating downstairs as well. You have to order at the counter and then they give you a number so do a bit of research and figure out what you want so you don't hold up the line during breakfast rush! Don't forget to bus your own dishes, water is self serve near the condiments
google avatar

Yelp
A gem in south Seattle! Good vibes. Friendly staff. Vegan friendly. Parking is a little tricky.

Yelp
Super friendly staff and incredible food!! The potatoes were delicious and the jam was to die for!! (Like seriously, BERRY me in that jam ) Very cozy cafe, you must eat here!
google avatar

Yelp
I love this little cafe! The coffee is great, the food is fresh, and the bakery options are plentiful. This cafe is one of my favorite spots in my neighborhood. It's got a cozy downstairs and a light a cheery upstairs. The staff is very friendly and they are happy to answer questions or accommodate your order. The WiFi is free and the food options for vegans and gluten free people is plentiful. I've had breakfast and lunch here. Everything tastes super fresh and is made to order. I've enjoyed a couple of scrambles and also the grilled cheese and daily soup combo. They're simple but they hit the spot! Don't pass this place by!
google avatar

Manga P.

Yelp
Absolutely delightful! I had a delicious TLT (Tofu Lettuce Tomato) on gluten free bread. Excellent service from the barista, Hope. The decaf Carmel mocha with oat milk was delightful with the Chocolate almond cookie. Redwing is a great place to meet with friend or study. to A great vegetarian space with plenty of Gluten free options.
google avatar

Kevin C.

Yelp
The vegan options at this place annihilate many of the all vegan brunch spots in town. I understand the chef at Redwing is vegan. The tofu scramble is incredible as are the biscuits and gravy. The outside patio is aesthetically pleasing as is the lower floor seating area. This is a great cozy spot for vegans and vegetarians alike.
google avatar

Yelp
Really cute place! Extremely friendly staff & flavorful food :)Went for breakfast after arriving from the airport & felt very welcomed. Feels like the type of place where everyone knows everyone. It's a little bit on the expensive side for a quick breakfast. A coffee, an orange juice & 2 breakfast plates came out to $44 (with tip!) Will come back everytime I'm back in Seattle. :)
google avatar

Marie B. J.

Yelp
First timer at this joint and definitely not my last!!! Hummus sandwich with side of smoked tofu on the side. It's Saturday and parking is decent on the street ( despite the fact people park in the clearly marked bus stop) when there is street parking - is this privilege? Even though they run to drop the kid off at dancing school or run in for a coffee refill?! (Apologies for the want...back to the food. I like the vibe of the place, easy music, great food and a decent sized cafe. Cost for lunch approx. 20.00 (sandwich, side and chai tea). I'll be back when I'm in the area - it made my list

Brad W.

Yelp
Interesting finding a vegan restaurant on Raineer Ave. I drive this route almost daily and never knew it was there. Had the vegan scramble and a danish. Very good combination!

Johny G.

Yelp
Nice neighborhood spot. I'm not that into the food it's like hippy experimental but the atmosphere, employees, coffee and baked goods are all great.
google avatar

Thomas A.

Yelp
Will never come here again. I ordered a sandwich to-go because I was in a rush and then realized I had an extra second so I sat down to have a few bites and take the rest to go. The owner came over to me immediately and confrontationally told me "If you're going to order to-go, I'd prefer you to just go." I was shocked. He then proceeded to walk me to the door, open it and usher me out. I said "Ok, but I won't be back" and he said "yeah, that's fine." A real lack of care.
google avatar

Olivia K.

Yelp
Service was excellent! We were a group of 8 and we found a table immediately and we're assisted by a lovely gentleman. The food was amazing. We got several pastries, the peach gazette was to die for. Our food was brought to us hot very quickly! Will definitely recommend to other visitors.

Yelp
Took my in-laws here for breakfast after they got off a cruise. We all enjoyed it. Cute ambiance, nice bakery selection, and I really enjoyed the Hummus Toast!

Yelp
I love this place so much. Inviting, always cool art, food is delicious, and now this gorgeous back patio area! My only beef is I don't live closer 'cuz DAMN I'd be in here every day!

Yelp
I love having such a nice cafe nearby! Their pastries are always AMAZING. Love the marmalade one, yuuuum. Their breakfast hash and their hummus toast are a family favorite. Lovely staff, cute spot, great takeaway too. Definitely worth going to!

Yelp
Tasty food, cute nooks to settle in with a cup of espresso to read or visit, nice service.

Yelp
Just a local gem for the neighborhood. I have loved this place since I moved here. Thank you.

Yelp
First food spot coming in for Labor Day Weekend. Small menu along with daily specials. Got to try a biscuit with jelly, 2 eggs, and a bowl of fruit that came in a small tea cup which I thought was cute. Girlfriend got to try a sandwich with potatoes. Very fresh and good.

Yelp
Redwing Cafe is a great local breakfast place in Rainier Valley. Somewhat close to a Seattle Public Library branch, it honestly doesn't look like much from the outside. However, in the inside, it's a charming place to share brunch and coffee with friends. The customer service was good, and the two staff members were friendly (if not a bit more quiet and reserved). The food items are hearty and my meal was substantial enough to make my trip to the south side worth it. Though the menu was relatively small, I ordered a latte (~$3/$4) and their Rainier breakfast ($9), which included two fried eggs, flavorfully seasoned cubed potatoes that were browned nicely, and a homemade biscuit. The biscuit was slightly dry and a bit too crumbly on it's own, but lathered with butter and their jam (which was life to me!), it was a tasty combo.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent food. Excellent service. A great outdoor space full of charm and built sustainably with found materials. What's not to like?

Yelp
Woke up to notification from a Yelp that this was a brunch place near me that I should try. I'm always down for a good brunch, so I got up, got dressed, and made my way to this suggestion. Parking is not fun because it's all street options. The atmosphere was a little awkward but the food was good. Absolutely get the avocado toast. As far as price go, it's way too pricey for the portions. The mimosas were 6.50 each and they were barely medium sized. I'm. It disappointed but I'm not that impressed either. I feel indifferent. The staff is fairly nice so that helps.
