Fabulous food...we had lasagna, meat stromboli, and NY style pizza. We had outstanding service from Brianna who was very professional and personable! Overall, great food and service for a fair price. Large portions, so we left with enough food for at least 2 more meals. Highly recommend this restaurant for good Italian food and fabulous service! Thank you so much Reginellas!

My brother brought me here to celebrate my birthday. He couldn't stop raving about how good the pasta was, and he wasn't kidding! I had the spaghetti and meatballs but asked for the Diavolo sauce on it, and they were happy to accommodate. It was absolutely delicious! Our waitress was amazing, as well. She was friendly, cheerful, and had a great sense of humor. She was practically family by the end of the meal! I don't know what the name of the dessert is as it was brought out in honor of my birthday, but it was heavenly! I can not recommend this place enough!

I'm from out of town but I had to go back a 2nd time before leaving. One of the best lasagna's I ever had & their Calzone... Mama mia! The quality of their meats and their sauce was excellent. Whenever I'm in town I will come back here!!!

Fried ravioli, veal with 3-cheese sauce and bacon, strawberry cheesecake and carrot cake. Good food, worth a shot. Bring your appetite. They feed you.

Just because I only gave it 4 stars doesn't mean I didn't like it. If you want an Italian restaurant experience then you should come here. Very affordable for the portion size you get. I would have given a 5-star review but the chicken in my pasta was cooked a little too done. Other than that, I do recommend you visit to see for yourselves.

For a few years of my childhood, my family lived in Italy because my dad got a job there. We lived in a little town built on the side of a hill, and the town ran right up to the water; it was beautiful! And the entire time we lived there, anytime we wanted to get pizza, we got it from a little shop called Roby's Pizza. Roby was a kindly man who loved to chat, tell jokes, and share stories the whole time he was making your pizza. And such pizza! It was the best pizza we had ever had! It was divine, and to this day when my family has good pizza we say "this is really good... but it isn't quite as good as Roby's pizza." Our last day before we moved away, we got pizza one last time from Roby and asked him where he learned to make pizza, because we just had to know where on earth taught people to make pizza this delicious. We were certain he had learned his pizza secrets in Rome, or some secret pizza school in Naples, or even in some tiny monastery in the Apennines; but we were wrong. Roby had gone to culinary school in New York, New York, United States. The real secret, he told us, is using fresh ingredients. You keep things simple and fresh, and you let your work speak for itself. After all this time, I am pleased to report that I have finally had pizza that made me say "oh my gosh, this actually might be as good as Roby's!" And that pizza was here at Reginella's: specifically the location on Virginia Beach Blvd. The staff were very friendly. Our waiter, Tom, was really fun and had really great rapport with both the kids and adults in our party. He was attentive and timely, and made everyone feel comfortable and welcome. The food was delicious, and the prices were good too! One of my kids had a kid's pizza, and it was an actual hand tossed pizza, not some little microwaved nonsense like some places have. The rest of us split a meat lover's pizza and, as I said above, it was hands down the best pizza I've had in more than 20 years! They're in a good location, have lots of seating, and even a patio. The vibe was really chill, but not ritzy, so it's a good fit for families or a fun date night spot. Will absolutely come back!

Their Margarita pizza is my favorite. Mouth watering food, good people and superb vibes. Highly recommend this gem.

Google
The overall rating is based off the taste. The service was very accommodating, as I brought my wife and four children. Great service all together. Sadly, the food was not so great. The Garlic Pizza Knots were hard and not very flavorful, the salad is a salad, nothing special.. and the pasta was more oil than flavor. I'm sure there are great things on the menu, but sadly our food wasn't memorable.

Yelp
I finally came to Reginellas they been there forever, but I haven't been so I finally came to try their pastas. I went in and they are huge spacious and clean. The counter where I order was nice the bar near there was small and quaint. I do not know if there is another long bar though. I waited there while they gave me my to go order. I like that they have specials on the board for drinks or something like that. Tons of booths and tables to sit at to wait she gave the option. The customer service was nice and friendly. I ordered create your own pasta for the lunch special so what I got was the spaghetti with oil and garlic and added chicken. It was tasty and delicious. I also ordered a side of fries those were good and than gave tons of butter with the bread. The bread was good as well I would come back to order more of their pastas and etc.

Yelp
I got the capesante gamberetti ($27) in white sauce and it came out in about 20 minutes. The pasta was cooked well , however I personally was not impressed with the sauce. It just felt blank, just a liquid sauce with not much flavor. The shrimp was cooked good on the other hand. Overall wasn't impressed with the pasta, probably should've gotten a pizza instead. Food(50%): 5.0 Staff/service(25%): 7.0 Value(25%): 4.0 Overall: 5.3/10

Yelp
This place is decent. I found the food well made but bland. The one thing that really stuck out to me was the olive oil herb dip for the bread, mmmm I could honestly just order that and be satisfied. The staff does a great job packing to-go orders, and are attentive when it comes to allergies and requests. I have yet to dine in but imagine it would be a pretty good experience, as they seemed to be putting a smile on the diners' faces.

Yelp
My best kept secret Biggest Greek salad, Awesome bread, and the best pepperoni pizza so far

Yelp
I recently had to go gluten free and this was my first dinner out at a restaurant. It was perfect. They have so many offerings for gluten free and everything was delicious! We came on a Wednesday evening at 6:30 and it was very busy! We did have to wait a bit, but their quote time was right on the money. We were seated and greeted quickly and even though our server was obviously a bit overwhelmed, we were provided with good service. I got the Shrimp and Scallop alfredo with gluten free spaghetti and added broccoli. It was fantastic. The portobello mushroom app was also delicious! Prices are super fair!

Yelp
For all purposes of this review, I will give Reginella's a 3.5. Upon walking in you are promptly greeted and get a full view of their bar and some nice decor. Now let's get down to business. Food: At Reginella's they have a pretty expansive menu featuring pasta, pizza, subs, and more as well as Coke products to drink. I personally got the lasagna which came packed with cheese and sausage slices on a bed of marinara. How was the lasagna you ask? Pretty solid but nothing crazy. I personally was not a fan of the sausage, but that is a personal preference. My fellow diner also got lasagna and enjoyed it but commented that "It's a little cold in the center," and furthermore "wish it was a bit warmer." Another problem child I saw was their salad, I got a salad with my lasagna and opted for Caesar. The salad was just composed of classic iceberg lettuce and a few other veggies...the saddest part...the watery crunch from the lettuce far overpowered the flavor of the caesar dressing. Beyond that, my fellow diners enjoyed their meals outside of a slight burn on the calzone. Service: The staff was nice as was our waiter but we never got refills, or offered them for that matter. After dropping a heaping slice of sagna, I stared hopelessly at the bottom of my cup, stabbing my straw to the bottom in hopes of getting the last drop, as did my fellow diners. Upon request of a refill for my fellow diner, it unfortunately never came. Overall Reginella's isn't bad, it's a warm meal at the end of a long day. Would I go back, sure, but it wouldn't be my first choice.

Yelp
Got a large NY style pizza and a chicken parm sub takeout from Reginella's. Pizza was large and pretty good, just wish it wasn't so salty. Chicken parm sandwich was pretty good with tasty marinara and chicken slices, too bad a lot of the cheese melted into to the wrapper and was wasted. While we weren't blown away by the food itself, the value of the size and price combination was fine.

Yelp
Once again I am out here in these streets getting stuck in traffic. I am hungry for Italian food. The waitress came took our order. My friend ordered a delicious brochette appetizer and shrimp, chicken, and octopus salad. I ordered chicken marsala with mushrooms and noodles. The food was delicious. The restaurant was bright and the decor is lovely. A nice restaurant to go again.

Yelp
The restaurant was inviting and clean. The server was friendly and attentive, until he got a large table then failed to return. We were greeted by everyone when we walked in the door. There was plenty of available seating - only 5 tables occupied. We ordered appetizers. The calamari was quite good and flavorful. The garlic knots were missing the flavor of garlic rather they tasted like salted bread with oil. The salad was crisp, but the house dressing tasted odd for a vinegarette. One member of the party said it was rancid, one finished it but acknowledged he couldn't smell or taste due to a sinus infection and the third ate a couple bites and pushed it aside. The chicken parm was beautifully prepared and served with angel hair pasta. The presentation was the best part of the meal. It was tough and chewy. I found it quite displeasing and inedible. Sadly, it was a disappointing experience.

Yelp
I went to lunch with my dad at Reginella's Italian Ristorante. The atmosphere of the restaurant is welcoming, and the service is top-notch. The main reason we went here was because my dad and I were craving pizza, and I have to say, Reginella's delivered. They also sell gelato at the restaurant, and I'll definitely come back to try it next time. If you're in the area, I highly recommend giving Reginella's a try.

Yelp
We always frequent Reginella's. I love the chicken parm and pretty much get that as much as I can. It's even better the next day. The service is always good and the restaurant is clean and inviting.

Yelp
This was my 1st visit in over 20 years. The 1st 2 times I went I was not impressed. But I will be fair and say I had just moved here from Connecticut. I have not been back since even though I lived within walking distance for years. So....a friend wanted to meet me there so I said yes. It's been 20 years....things change. She was early and ordered some fried calamari and bread. She wanted a white pizza but made a few changes on it. Our waiter was wonderful and very accommodating. I wish I got his name....Christian? Young, clean cut and in college. We also ordered wine and I loved the pour. It was not a pretentious pour. It might have been a smaller glass but it's all about perception. The pizza was good. I loved that they had the pizza stand for the pizza. The calamari was good...not the best I have had. I personally would not have ordered it. I want to give this place another chance and try some of the pasta. Is it the best around....no.....but it's better then I remember and I would like to try it again.

Yelp
This was the perfect casual family friendly restaurant. We got the carbonara and pasta primavera. Carbonara was super creamy and heavy. But also delicious. I think it was made with guanciale instead of bacon which was nice. The pasta primavera tastes way better than it looks. It looks very plain but the flavor is great!! I'd recommend this.

Yelp
This used to be one of my fav restaurants. Even took people from out of state here. Went for lunch. Took forever to be seated. Single men ignored? Ordered stuffed shells w/side salad. glass of wine. The salad was soggy and soaking wet. I think it was thawed after being frozen and then washed to further water log it. The salad dressing washed off. No waitress visit to mention this too. Went ahead and ate it. After a bit of time, she came out with the stuffed shells, said be careful of the hot plate, and before I could mention the soggy salad, she had turned and ran. Never saw her again until long after the meal was finished. As to the stuffed shells, they were bland. The tomato sauce was reminiscent of canned macaroni the famous Chef B R Dee. No real tomato flavor. The shells were stuffed with flavorless ricotta cheese, no herbs, garlic, salt, .... nothing. It was very bland. Today marked a wasted lunch experience that I get so few off. Price added insult to injury.

Yelp
The floor plan is bright and inviting, the staff and wait help is average. Most importantly the food was flavorless, the Chicken Marsala was bland, as well as the Veal. The tiramisu tasted a lot like a chocolate cream dessert. Unfortunately this will be our last visit.

Yelp
Our server Kai was amazing! The food was the best Italian we have had in a long while. We enjoyed several pastas and pizza, their bruschetta appetizer was flavorful as well as their oil dipping sauce. The restaurant was homey and reminded me of the places I enjoyed as a kid. We will be back for sure!

Yelp
I've dined at Reginella's a couple times lately, and I have to say, I'm a big fan! Stellar service, great food and wine, and a warm atmosphere - can't ask for much more! The inside of Reginella's is very spacious. There are many tables and I haven't had to wait to be seated yet. I don't see that happening easily. All of the employees are so friendly and eager to make your night better. I'm quite impressed! You start here with a basket of their fresh-baked bread and real butter. My boyfriend and I usually go through a basket each. It is delicious and they keep it coming as much as you want it to. So far, for appetizers, we've had the mozzarella fritte (mozzarella sticks) and focaccia bianca. Both are delicious. The mozzarella was nice and gooey with a crunchy, seasoned exterior. The focaccia is wonderful too, with olive oil, garlic, and herbs. It goes really well with the pasta, as with their fresh baked bread. For entrées, I have ordered the Shrimp Alfredo twice and it's just so delicious. The pasta is always cooked just right, smothered in a rich, creamy sauce and paired with succulent shrimp. I'm in love! I enjoy sprinkling some of the crushed red pepper flakes on top. It adds another layer of flavor. My boyfriend has tried the Spaghetti Con Polpette (spaghetti with meatballs) baked with cheese and the Trio Italiano (portion of lasagna, chicken parmigiana, and fettuccine alfredo). He loved both, especially with the house red wine. I'm not a wine person, but being buzzed does make the food taste even better. Lol!! So, this is our new spot for pasta and wine!! I need to try their pizza and more of their appetizers. There's so much I want to taste. I haven't been hungry enough for dessert yet, but it all sounded so yummy.... We'll be back for sure!!

Yelp
My girlfriend and I frequent this place at this point. The carbonara is SOOOO GOOD. We always order the olive oil dip with the bread as well. The specials are usually really really good too. We've had nothing but great service at Reginellas too! Last time we dined there we actually had the host as our waiter and I think maybe he should always be waiting tables because he did just great! All in all, this cute little Southern Italian decorated restaurant will always be a go-to for us!

Yelp
We've enjoyed Reginella's for many years. I used to come here with my parents as a teenager; now I bring my husband. It's one of my favorite casual Italian restaurants. I really like the eggplant parmesan, the linguine with clams & garlic sauce, and the chicken marsala. My husband like the giant calzones and stromboli. Service is always friendly. And the very full glasses of wine are nice, too!
google avatar

Ron L.

Yelp
Amazing food and service. Food was fresh and homemade. They even made adjustments to my specific requests.

Yelp
I love reginellas!! The pizza is amazing and the service is great when I come!! I also love the way the place is decorated! Such a fun place to come.

Chloe S.

Yelp
We order take out on 4/27. It was our second time ordering and I was really excited for the gluten free options because they are great. Unfortunately, when we got there despite confirming gluten free twice on the phone, both pizzas were regular pizzas when we arrived. Additionally, my husband was charged twice for the meal while he was standing in the restaurant waiting for the remake which took 30 minutes. In the week since, he has called 6 times to try and talk and get a refund. Each time he was promised someone would call him back either that night or the next day. Finally today when we called back the owner called us disrespectful and refused to return our money despite their system showing the double charged us. Their gluten free food is great, regular food is good but the customer service is terrible.

Dallas S.

Yelp
Their food is good at reasonable prices! My one complaint is that the chicken marsala I ordered online came with a side if pasta that was covered in red sauce! I would have loved to be able to put my marsala on top of the pasta, but not with red sauce on it! Reticellas should have an option when ordering to allow me to put the sauce of choice on my pasta. So disappointed in my meal when I got home and opened the containers!

Yelp
Lunch today for three we each had the dinner menu Lasanga which comes with a house salad. The best thing about the meal is the warm french style bread, served with butter. We opted for the olive oil with balsamic vinegar for an exrta $1 and well worth it. My salad contained many wilted pieces of lettuce and was a turn off. The lasanga was as described with meatball and sausage slices but not very tasty. Edible is not high praise but thats where the meal placed on my scale, middle of the road. Service is excellent and just right in speed and friendliness. Ambiance is clean and an old Italy style in decor. The music could use an update. Not planning a repeat visit.

Yelp
we have been going to Reginellas for many years & it never lets you down! Everything was delicious, BUT our server, TOM,was out of this world. He knew we all loved to talk so he was patient with us!! (4women!!) I am so impressed with Tom's service. He is so kind & personable. The food of course, outstanding. We thank Tom for his patience with us & his awesome personality.

Scott V.

Yelp
Excellent Service food & atmosphere! Our new fav Italian restaurant. I dont have a picture of our stuffed shells because we ate them without thinking to take a picture. Everything tasted authentic & rich. We went for lunch got bread, appetizer (bruschetta), and meal (stuffed shells) was perfecto!

Yelp
Went on a Wednesday night with some friends for the first time, ordered a large pepperoni pizza and a beer. I have never had my stomach jacked up so bad by eating pizza before. I only ate 2 pieces and it made me sick. I will never go back. The service was also pretty shabby.
google avatar

Carla N.

Yelp
I have to start by saying this was not our first choice. Our first choice unbeknownst to us closed at 4. As we were walking back to the car we saw this restaurant at corner and just said let's try it. I'm happy we did!! My man actually said he was happy the first choice was closed because he probably may never have given this place a try. We got a 14" half cheese and Margherita pizza and I got the side ceaser salad. My side was the Margherita and I ate every slice!!!! It was the absolute best I've ever had!! My other half is VERY and I mean VERY picky and he said he wants to come back!!
google avatar

Gianni C.

Yelp
My family and I have been going here for years and it's seems to never disappoint, every time we go we always love it and never want to leave. This restaurant for me is easily the best italian restaurant in the area.
google avatar

Kaitlin A.

Yelp
Pizza was pretty good. Asked for it crispy, but it was kinda just cooked, not really that overdone. Cheese was good, flavorful and not overpowered by the sauce. Dough was really nice, the way they make it is solid. Tastes homemade, isn't too heavy or anything, probably one of the better crusts I've had in this area. It isn't a thin slice, but I like it like that. You can taste the sauce, however it's not an overly saucy slice. Not that greasy either. Pepperoni wasn't that flavorful or salty, almost tasted like salami even. Crust was nice, fluffy and soft, a little crispy, but not by much. Dipping it in a sauce is probably for the best, but that's just me. Probably will have again some other time, but for now I'm gonna keep trying more places.
google avatar

Yelp
Absolute best authentic Italian food in the 757. My favorites are the chicken parmigiana, cheese pizza, octopus salad! Service is fantastic, the atmosphere is casual and inviting.

Carl F.

Yelp
My first time at Reginella's restaurant. I had the eggplant Parm. The eggplant was paper thing no favor and covered in too much cheese. I tasted like prepackaged dinner. Not fresh tasting at all. Their bread and salad were excellent. My wife had the Alfredo Fetacini which was good.

Tina J.

Yelp
Okay, wow. We made the unfortunate mistake of going out to eat without a reservation. We still checked a couple of places, but each was a no-go. We decided to broaden our search, and I'm so glad we did. It wasn't the upscale dinner for which we had planned, but the food and the service went above and beyond. Greeted tableside by Sierra, who was accommodating and very pleasant. She made us the tastiest olive oil dipping sauce for our bread, and I'll remember that for a long time. Cheese ravioli and chicken Alfredo were our choices for dinner. Makes me wish I could eat more it was so good. Take a chance and check this place out. The food is top-notch.

Mark M.

Yelp
Working retail like the good people at this terrific restaurant on Christmas Eve, and not having any plans, after being informed that the restaurant was open until 5 for carry-out but only seating until 4 for eat-in, I called shortly before 4:00, (which was when the store where I worked closed), to see if I could call in and pay for my dine-in meal ahead of time and then drive directly to the restaurant and my table. After being placed on hold for nearly 10", I was refused on the grounds that my request was against the rules that were set up for the day.

Linda A.

Yelp
Amazing staff, food, service, and atmosphere! Tom is the best!!! Recommend their daily lunch special.
google avatar

Myra M.

Yelp
Daughter had the spaghetti with meatballs and I ordered their lasagna. Staff was friendly and the food was delicious! It came with complimentary salad and bread with butter. Will be back again

Andrew M.

Yelp
Easily the best Italian restaurant I've been to in recent years. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a true taste and great price point.

James F.

Yelp
The pizza too die for stuffed pizza good choice here with the fresh bread and olive oil and fresh pepper and the salads yikes so good you won't be disappointed peace out

Jewels I.

Yelp
Everything was amazing you can tell it was freshly made! The service could have been a little better. The ambiance was cute definitely a hidden gem. We saw it was in a shopping mall and were prepared for disappointment but left pleasantly surprised!

Yelp
Italian food here is real comfort food. Buttery but not overly salty. Piccata sauce delivers beautifully with each ingredient's flavor unadulterated. Big portions is a plus. Marinara sauce's sweetness cuts the acidity of the tomatoes giving very wholesome taste, but it's not sugar overload either. Very balanced. Meatballs and veals are tender, smooth, and packed with comfort flavors. The spices blend well, don't come off as sharp to the palate. Calamari was better than average, great meaty squid. Again not overly salty like most restaurants would do. The only thing that made me docked off a star was the annoying presence of this one fly that kept circling our food.

Kik B.

Yelp
Food was delicious. Ample service and delicious amounts of food served. Authentic Italian cuisine.

Yelp
Today we had lunch at Reginella's Italian Restaurante & Trattoria at 109 Volvo Parkway in the heart of Chesapeake. Our first impressions were quite positive, the place is clean and decorated well with pictures of the Old Country adorning the walls. Our server Jacque was very helpful with menu questions and suggestions if you are on the fence about what to order. She was attentive without hovering and I appreciate that. My water glass never got below half a tank. I started out with the Small Insalata Greca for $5.95 on the Lunch Menu. Everything was fresh with the exception of the pepperoncini, they looked old and did not taste very good. Other than that, the salad was fresh and delicious. I tried the Italian Wedding Soup Cup for $4.95. This was not bad but it was not the best I have ever had either. I would charitably say that it was just okay. The pizza was okay but nothing special. Admittedly, I am a pizza affectionato and I have very high standards. My wife had the Stromboli and it was also just okay. The marinara was lacking. I really wanted to like this place because I'm always on the lookout for great Italian cuisine but this didn't measure up.

Sarah P.

Yelp
Excellent home made food, including the bread. Service was spot on-- timely and friendly. The restaurant itself was regular Italian with tables and booths. Adult beverages were well made At Christmas time, they hang a tree upside down-- humorous and a clever idea. I can't attest to how efficient they are at dinner time as I went at noon.

Alexis C.

Yelp
Love the old fashion style of the restaurant, but food is mid. Got the salad and Stromboli. Unfortunately dressing is definitely store bought and I really would only come back for desert! Cake was bomb!

Yelp
For almost 20 years, Reginella's was my go-to neighborhood Italian restaurant - and there is abundant competition. I also wrote a very positive review a few years ago. However, recently, I have noticed a significant erosion in quality. Perhaps, as I was told, it was because the owner, Vinny Fusaro (a fixture there) was no longer involved in daily operations as he had been before. However, the final straw came on November 28, 2023, when I was rudely told by the order taker that a very popular food item was no longer available when the published menu included that item. When I asked to speak to the Manager on duty (I was told his name was "Darryl") I was advised that he was too busy to talk to customers. It appears that it is time to find another primary Italian eatery. Shameful.

Mike B.

Yelp
My wife and I have eaten here many times and have always enjoyed everything thing we have ordered.. Their Seafood Alfredo is the best I have had

Jonesha M.

Yelp
After hearing people rave about this place for years, we went on a Friday night for my daughter's birthday. The place was packed. That's usually a good sign that the food was good. We were sat immediately and given bread. I was surprised at how extensive the menu is. It was hard to choose what I wanted. I ended up ordering the Chicken Marsala. It was very tasty. Everyone was pleased with their food. This place will definitely be put in our rotation.

Kelly B.

Yelp
I love Reginellas. It's a laid-back family restaurant. The owner is really Italian. The food is authentic and absolutely delicious. You have to try their gelato when you're done. Their pizza is to die for. Authentic NY style. Big fold in half pieces. Super cheesy and delicious!! And their pasta dishes are absolutely amazing as well. I love this restaurant. I recommend the lasagna, pizza, white pizza and their gelato as well!! Salads are good too. Fresh and healthy!!
google avatar

Kesha B.

Yelp
The food was okay. I ordered a cheesesteak with fries and the fries have 0 seasoning not even salt! The place is out dated and a tad bit dirty.
