"This uptown cafe and roastery is often filled with workers on laptops and people sharing regional sales numbers over espresso drinks made with Relevant’s carefully roasted beans as well as pastries from Baron Patisserie and Shoofly Vegan Bakery. Their espresso tonic brings a nice splash of cocktail culture to the excellent espresso. Other standouts are seasonal drinks like smoke spice cardamom latte." - Rachel Pinsky

"Located near downtown Vancouver, Relevant is one of this southwest Washington city’s biggest and most popular coffee shops, with more roasting space since a move to a bigger location in 2019. Relevant generally serves a light to medium roast, and carries a wide variety of Ethiopian coffees. For those looking for something sweet, the shop also carries house-made syrups made onsite with flavors such as piloncillo and earl grey lavender." - Seiji Nanbu

Google
The staff here are nice and the environment was chill. There are outlets along the bench for those who want to come work or study. The coffee was good, but it was a little too milky and not quite strong enough for my preference, but it was still tasty. I got the Lemon thyme and sage latte. I couldn't taste the lemon... and the sage was more of an after taste, but it was really smooth. Over all pretty good.

Google
Traveling through and I love coffee shops that make their own flavored syrups, Relevant nailed it! I had the orange cardamom latte, perfect flavoring, not too sweet! The biscotti was delicious and the atmosphere is super chill. Great amount of seating inside and outside. Brava 👏🏽 👏🏽

Google
Pretty open and spacious urban minimalist vibe coffee shop & and in-house roaster. We got dark cherry mocha and dry cappuccino. Very good service and beautiful latte art. Strongly recommend. Kind barista also offered a cup of sparkling water with my dry cap and made me very happy. Average noise level, populular, and usually busy. Paid (free on weekend) street parking.

Google
One of my favorite coffee shops, the drinks, the vibe, the place, and the baristas are great! This place is great for getting coffee or matcha with friends or simply doing homework by yourself. The matcha is SO GOOD and the house-made syrups are really well done. Another thing that deserves an honorable mention is the cookies. Often sold out (because they’re THAT good), but if you come in the morning you might be able to snag one or two. I recommend the earl grey sugar cookie or the chocolate chip sea salt! Overall, highly recommend this spot!!

Google
Great third wave coffee shop with lots of seating. Menu is at the door, not at the register. So take a look before ordering. But tbh this is the kind of place where most people ordering don’t need a menu. Both the drip and espresso are third wave quality and there’s a lot of pastry options. There’s plenty of seating and a lot of street parking.

Google
Local coffee favorite! We're now regulars. It is hands down one of the best places to get beans in Vancouver. Great atmosphere, baked goods, and coffee. There are plenty of seasonal flavors. Street parking. Not uncommon to have a line out the door at peak times.

Google
I ordered two cups of the seasonal coffee, and they were both outstanding. To my surprise, even the croissants and vegetable pastries were impressive. The ambiance was comfortable, and the barista was thoughtful enough to write the names of each coffee on the plates, making it easy for us to tell them apart. It’s a small gesture, but it really added a touch of sweetness to the experience.

Google
I absolutely adore this place. Top tier matcha and the best syrups out there. I love the atmosphere, the way that everything is set, it gives you a very warm and cozy vibe. Definitely one of my favorite places to do homework, it’s quite calming. I recommend their lavender rosemary matcha.

Yelp
I'm so glad we checked out Relevant! The service was great. We placed our order and it felt like the drinks were out really fast. I had an oakmilk latte and it was the smoothest drink I've had so far this year. The coffee was so well balanced. Hats off to the roasters! The vibe I. Here was nice and chill. Next time we will plane to hang out and enjoy the very well lit space! Great service, great coffee!!!

Yelp
Went here at around 8:30 in the morning on a Tuesday and it was pretty busy with all the tables being taken, there were about 4 people in line ahead of me. There's only really street parking nearby with paying to park starting at 8 am. The service was lovely and quick and it seems like a nice place to work and hang out, it's a corner shop too which could be nice to people watch. Overall it's cute, I thought the coffee was mid but some of the pasties were really good. Iced vanilla latte - 6/10 just ok, lil too sweet for me with not strong vanilla flavor Fruit pop tart - 8/10. Really good, sweet but not too sweet Ham and cheese croissant 5/10. Pretty dry, not a lot of cheese flavor wouldn't recommend Chocolate chip cookies - 6. Pretty sweet, lil too much for me. Lil too salty for me as well but probs just personal preference

Yelp
I got the mocha here, and dang was it pretty good. The baristas were really nice, and it didn't take long to get my order! Even if it wasn't completely silent, it had a nice vibe inside. Would come back :)

Yelp
The drinks were amazing and so cute. The ladies at the counter are full of hot and so kind. It was a wonderful experience thank you!

Christine A.

Yelp
Absolutely smooth and delicious coffee. The line was out the door and down the street. I waited in it and I would do it again. Modern, roomy and cool.

Yelp
Yelp review 1200, and how fitting it's my favorite local coffee roaster. I've been enjoying their coffee beans for the past 6 years since we moved to the area, but this was our first time actually stopping in to their coffee shop to sit down & enjoy a cup. The staff working were friendly & upbeat, and it's a relaxed atmosphere, as a coffee shop should be. There's lots of real houseplants all around the space, and a variety of seating options. I had a latte & the Hubs had a mocha, both delicious.

Wendell R.

Yelp
I've always wanted to check out this coffee shop and today was the day. Downtown Vancouver is becoming quit the hipster spot. There are so many cool little spots opening like Relevant coffee. When you walk what catch your attention is the wide open space. They could probably put double the seating in but they've kept the spacious vibe that give the customer a sense of privacy in a room that could be packed. The staff is super hospitable and kind. They serve a variety of your favorite coffee drinks and some pretty amazing looking pastries. I didn't try and of the pastries this time. The coffee was was Carmel latte with the artist touch on top. This is my new goto meeting place when I'm in the Vancouver area.

Yelp
I just moved to the Vancouver area and this is the closest coffee shop to me . I decided to give it a try and was so happy they have matcha there ! Matcha is the best one I've found so far. Most matcha places I've tried are watered down or taste to much like milk. . I like the shop and the barista women with curly hair and the man barista are always so welcoming and kind to me ! I'll definitely keep coming here

Andrew A.

Yelp
Welcoming space, attention to detail, and positive overall vibe. Lots of student types with laptops so it looks like they don't encourage you to free your seat/table. Excellent ice Americano in a very unique glass. However, I was a little surprised at the absence of simple syrup. Unfortunately, the food options didn't appeal to me. Friendly service.

Ken R.

Yelp
Wow. Smug, confusing. no available seating, expensive, no posted menu...paper flier only, pay for parking, clean restroom. Mine was good coffee. My partner couldn't taste orange in her orange mocha. 12 oz latte. $5.46. incl tax. 12 oz flavoued mocha $6.50 incl tax. Then they ask for a tip. Plenty of other places. I won't be back.

Jamie G.

Yelp
Looking forward to sharing my experience! Always chasing coffee shops! Arrived as the doors opened, and staff was ready to take orders and give you d as n amazing experience. Seating area and coffee bar was clean. Sta ready to serve with a smile. As others guests waited in line they were presented with menus. This made the 10 people in line have less than an 8 minute wait to serve everyone. The seating area is roomy, and situated in a way to have privacy. From the coffee bar to the table, it feels like you are the only group there. The noise level is quiet, and most tables and sofas were occupied. It's very intriguing to see how a business can create an ambiance as such. The coffee and pastries partner well together m. You can request a coffee mug to enjoy your brew!

Yelp
This place was recommended by a colleague as a place for the two of us to have a meeting. Relevant Coffee had already been on my list of places to check out so I was happy to land here. The space is gorgeous and welcoming, as are everyone who works there. Perhaps some of the most genuinely friendly baristas I've encountered. And this place was hoping! That can be the true test of service. I am allergic to coffee so I always go for chai or matcha. It's been a while since my visit so I can't remember which drink I got but i do remember it was excellent! As mentioned before, this place was hoping with folks tucked into their drinks, many behind laptops. So seating was a bit hard to come by, but I was able to get a little two seater by the register. So know that you may have to negotiate for space should you want to come to study or work. Be patient. It's worth the wait.

David S.

Yelp
This is a nice looking space and seems quite popular. I don't know why. I had a hot chai lotte that lacked any real flavor notes that could pass the milk. I ordered coconut milk and got almond milk. And they have a very limited pastry availability. I ordered an almond cherry biscotti that had very sweet cherries and tons of chocolate...I like chocolate but it should say there is chocolate. I can understand they have posted hours but the place was full at closing; they may want to rethink their hours. So many great places for great coffee in Vancouver; i do not plan to return here.

Kylie H.

Yelp
Very cute place! Loved the plants and apll the natural light. The coffee itself was super great and even though they were busy, the guy at the counter was very nice and took his time to take my order and be friendly with me!

Steve B.

Yelp
Indie music vibes as I walk into a packed room. Line moves swiftly past merch and bags of coffee beans. Employees in the back are roasting beans behind glass. Friendly service at the counter. Pretty typical when the barista asks what you are up to. Some may find this invasive but if you've got something going on why not let them live vicariously through your short exchange? I get my latte and it tastes better than most in the region. If it weren't so noisy or if they went above and beyond for drinks I'd give this place five stars. The speciality drinks didn't wow me or present anything unique. It's Christmas. Make your own egg nog or something. All in all, I like the curation here and will gladly return for a tasty coffee beverage. At least the baristas don't short circuit here like they do in Portland when I order a drink without sugar or oat milk.

Svetlana V.

Yelp
Excellent coffee, the person is always friendly and polite, the coffee is delicious. I recommend this place

Tony V.

Yelp
and the baristas were very knowledgeable and friendly. They took the time to explain the different options and helped me choose the perfect drink. The cafe itself was cozy and inviting, with a relaxed atmosphere that made it a great place to unwind. The prices were also very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the coffee and the excellent service. I was also impressed with their commitment to sustainability and their use of locally sourced ingredients. I would highly recommend Relevant Coffee to anyone visiting Vancouver.

Jen N.

Yelp
Matcha was creamy and delicious. Friends really liked the turmeric latte. Scone was soft and flavorful. Busy but quick on a Friday morning. Not a lot of seating for larger party but plenty for singles/duos. Paid for parking out front. Baristas were friendly with the exception of one cranky person.

Layne D.

Yelp
Really cute coffee shop in Vancouver. We stopped in on a Saturday around 9am and the line was out the door, but it moved quickly. I tried a 12 oz nonfat mocha and my partner tried the yogurt and granola. Service was super friendly. The mocha was very good, they use ranger chocolate and it wasn't too sweet at all. It was also the perfect temperature. The yogurt and granola was just okay, maybe just stick to coffee and pastries. Overall though I'd definitely recommend stopping in!

Kenneth R.

Yelp
Relevant Coffee checks all the boxes: first-rate drinks, a beautiful location, ample space for working, friendly staff, clean restrooms, reliable WiFi, good pastries,.... My macchiatos came with sparkling water, and (at least once) I was asked to choose the espresso beans that would be used for the pull. The barista drinks here are beyond excellent. This café is both recommended (by KennethR) and relevant (to pretty much everyone). Check it out!

Rosie H.

Yelp
Drinks are made with love (& skill)! I have never had a burnt shot or milky mishaps in a cup from here! Customer service is a priority here, all of the staff I have interacted with have been courteous and kind. It can get busy here but don't fret, the line moves quickly. The tables fill up quickly but there is outdoor seating. 10/5 recommend visiting this cute cafe even if you have to go out of your way, you deserve a visit!

Rayne M.

Yelp
I wish this place had a few more food options, the more pastries the better IMO- we came on a busy Friday so there was only a Shoofly scone for sweet options but Shoofly has great vegan pastries so not complaining. I looove the cozy vibe and digs, plus so cool you can see behind the scenes with the coffee roasting. Latte was also legit.

Alice T.

Yelp
Ok, this review is more about the service at this coffee shop. The coffee is here is good. However... I ordered an iced latte today, that's it. After waiting a good while, I got called up for my order. I saw on their little receipt (that had my name on it) my correct order (an iced drink) however the drink was not iced. That's not the problem, things like this happen. However, when I politely said that I believe my drink should've been iced, the barista looked at me and said "does it really need to be iced?". Like what?? Anyways, I waited for her to remake the drink and all was fine. Maybe I'm just petty but I didn't really like that interaction. Seemed like she didn't want to take the time to remake my drink that she had obviously mistaken. Also, just to add, the one drink was almost $8.00. I'm not against the price, I'd just like to receive what I ordered.

Leanna F.

Yelp
My husband truly enjoys every coffee I treat him with from here. Pastries are pretty good! Definitely a must try!

Eunice B.

Yelp
Pretty great spot and good quality coffee! Ran into famous Christian singer Jeremy Camp here summer 2022 :D

Shannon T.

Yelp
My FAVORITE coffee shop in Washington! My bestie lives in Vancouver and whenever I come up to visit from LA, I go to Relevant every day. Their matcha is 10/10 and I also have a set of their glasses, they're so cute! Staff is also super friendly.

Rashi T.

Yelp
Do not follow the Apple maps , because it takes you to a very different spot and I tried multiple times. The address just seems inconsistent with what Yelp has and what maps has . Anyways , Relevant coffee is extremely popular In the area and I can see why . The coffee shop is cute , spacious and well lit and is an excellent spot for working or just hanging out with a book or in my case with a phone. Lots of metered parking right outside but it does get busy during the day .The drinks and baked goods tasted nice. They had so many seasonal drinks that sounded delicious -hot autumn maple latte , hot orange Mocha etc etc but I decided to stick to my favorite drink which is a cappuccino and wasn't disappointed. They have a big coffee selection and bags to take home too .

Kelly S.

Yelp
Visiting the area and wanted to find a coffee shop. There's plenty to choose from so it was a challenge but we were not disappointed. Parking was relatively easy. The place is clean and pleasing to the eye. Service was excellent, very friendly. Both drinks were of high quality. I would come back again!

Apoorva J.

Yelp
Relevant coffee is a cute, warm and cozy neighborhood coffee place. Not only did they have a delicious spread of pastries and amazing coffee, they have some unique seasonal flavors which won't disappoint. And they have the kindest and sweetest staff members! You cannot go wrong checking them out. Highly recommend!

Katie O.

Yelp
The ambiance in here is so great. I could stay all day! I popped over after a cycle class and got a standard coffee, it was great! Looking forward to coming again

Brian T.

Yelp
My favorite roaster in Vancouver. Their baristas are wonderful and customer service is amazing.

Nanny R.

Yelp
I beelined it here after reading all the reviews. So true, it's a clean light-filled stylish space to sip and catchup w/ friends and laptops! Tho, for someone always on the lookout for the right balance of murmur, openness and welcome to inspire productivity, this didn't quite make it unfortunately. I'm mainly writing for those, like me, who would want to know: 1) pets are *not* allowed inside the cafe (there are ample tables and benches outside; passerby disruptions were frequent) 2) there is a 90min self-monitored suggestion as to how long one should stay inside and 3) food options are limited, aside from pastries, biscotti, and such. Had I known the above, I would have headed elsewhere for what I needed to accomplish today. Glad, tho, to see the hype and can see me returning under different circumstances. Sunday free parking right outside was a plus.

Jenny X.

Yelp
What a fun place to work in downtown Vancouver! I loved how much room and how many outlets there were - I got a seasonal latte and really liked it here. It already came with oat milk so that was even better. Overall space has a lot of sunlight and just feels really nice to work in.

Alex H.

Yelp
Wasn't a fan of the Chai Latte, The service was fast and friendly, The Ambiance is clean, open and great decor,

Nakkita M.

Yelp
i love relevant coffee! amazing service and delicious coffee! great place to catch up with friends or hangout and do some work!

Anna M.

Yelp
I ordered a large cold brew nitro and although the cold brew tasyws ice the niteo foam was spare and didnt last very long, maybe they were low on nitro?

Brenna H.

Yelp
Stopped by for two afternoon lattes to go on a trip back from Portland! The atmosphere and decor inside is super cute and going for a modern/minimalist look. They seem to be really keen on safety still which was nice and had signs for their "rules" (like seating for 90 minutes, no phone calls in the shop- which I appreciated!). I got a oat milk vanilla latte and an oat milk seasonal drink for my husband- it was a smoke spice and cardamom latte. My latte was amazing! Seriously one of the best I've had and I could've gone back for several more. My husband really enjoyed his seasonal latte too and said it was something he'd enjoy again. Will be back on our trips in the area!

Tina L.

Yelp
Still love this coffee shop! I'm going to miss walking past here all the time as I'm switching yoga studios!

Art C.

Yelp
We had an excellent cappuccino here at their very nice and pleasant cafe. Top notch...

Lori B.

Yelp
BEST PEOPLE! I have been here a couple of times for meetings and I am so happy with not k my the coffee but with the entire staff. Everyone is so kind. My barista made a beautiful art piece in my cappuccino foam and when he realized it was supposed to be in a ceramic mug, he wanted to remake it! I will absolutely drive across the river to come back often!

Mandy N.

Yelp
My favorite coffee shop in Vancouver. Gourmet coffee, delicious pastries (many vegan pastry options), friendly staff, merch and outdoor seating.

Christina C.

Yelp
Best coffee on this side of the river! ALL their drinks are fantastic and their pastries and yogurts are so yummy! It takes a little while for you to wait for things but it's understandable considering the methods they use to make your delicious coffee.

Aloyna F.

Yelp
Super cute coffee shop, lots of plants! Lots of outdoor seating options. Super friendly baristas.

Hailee M.

Yelp
Best coffee shop in downtown Vancouver! The lattes are delicious and they always have something new and creative to try. I come here frequently to telecommute and their WiFi is great! They have lots of places to sit and plug in. The ambiance is cozy with good lighting and lots of well kept plants. The employees are also very welcoming. Hands down my fav place to go when I need some joe

Don W.

Yelp
It's nice on Saturday's between 9 - 1 they have a outside cart on 17th to take pressure off the cafe. Good thinking managers.

Ed F.

Yelp
Very nice facility. Clean, open, lots of windows. But the coffee??? Meh, weak dishwasher.

Ariana R.

Yelp
Great spot for some coffee. My partner and I were looking for a cafe to relax and have some coffee. The interior has minimalist design and aesthetic. I also really appreciate that they have free tap water for guests. There's only street parking, but we didn't have an issue finding parking.

Vanessa L.

Yelp
Very nice coffee place with some sweet employees. Usually a little packed (especially in the warmer months) because they are pretty locally famous for their coffee, you might not always find a spot to sit. Still cold brew is pretty bomb, but their matcha is really good too. Would recommend!

Amanda D.

Yelp
The chai here .... Incredible. Really awesome staff too! They have a great seating area if you need a space to work remotely and hang out for a bit. We hung out here while putting an offer down on our first home!
