"The patio at Renata is one of our favorite places to spend a few hours forgetting we have responsibilities and deadlines. If it’s winter or the best seats are taken, sit at the bar for Happy Hour or grab a table to eat some of the best pasta in the city, like butternut squash ravioli or squid ink corzetti. All of the bread, charcuterie, and pasta are made in-house, so even if you’re someone who doesn’t like to ruin their dinner with bread, definitely order the focaccia with lemon ricotta and smoked butter." - krista garcia

Initially started as a pop-up, Renata opened on Southeast Main Street in 2015, a collaboration between a number of seasoned Bay Area industry vets: Co-owners Sandra and Nick Arnerich spent time at the French Laundry, and chef Matt Sigler spent time at both Flour + Water and Quince. The restaurant became a favorite for pastas and pizzas, served in a casual, bustling space with a strong wine list. Renata transitioned to curbside pickup and delivery during the pandemic, and later launched a line of frozen pizzas. There are a few options for each course, including a “Seven Fishes” risotto and a 55-day dry-aged bone-in New York steak, plus panna cotta or profiteroles for dessert.
