Republic - Review - South Lake Union - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Republic’s menu has a lot of upscale takes on classics, from burgers and Nashville hot chicken sandwiches to mac and cheese with prawns and pork belly lardons thrown in. There are certainly better dinner spots in the neighborhood, but you can't deny the mood in this place. We like it best in the summer when they open the front garage doors and let the fresh air in, but it’s also a fine setting to get cozy with a bowl of risotto alongside a if it’s 38 degrees out. But quite possibly the best use of Republic is when you're strapped for time and need a last-minute, low-key birthday spot for around a dozen people—it's entirely possible to reserve an area of the bar with relatively no notice, where you can gather around high-top tables and snack on hand-cut fries and steak bites swirled in horseradish thyme cream. Do not, under any circumstances, ignore these steak bites. RESERVE A TABLE WITH RESERVE A TABLE" - Aimee Rizzo

Super Bowl Food: Where to Find Parties and Takeout for the Big Game - Eater Seattle

"This South Lake Union bar and restaurant is normally closed Sundays but in honor of the “gigantic sports contest” is rolling in a couple of TVs and serving food until 8 p.m. Re:public has one of the city’s largest whiskey selections." - Harry Cheadle

Google
Great place for an after work gathering. They have a happy hour and a pretty full menu for lunch or dinner. Had great cocktails and the beer selection is good.

Google
Stopped by this place late at night and was happy to see they were still serving food, huge plus! The atmosphere is really nice, perfect for hanging out. Just a heads-up: it was really loud when we went (probably because it was so late), so it’s not the best spot if you’re looking for a quiet dinner. But if you’re in the mood for energy, drinks and a place that stays open late, it’s a solid choice!

Came here on a Thurs evening happy hour! It was super easy to make a reservation through OpenTable, and we were seated right by the window - the cozy, airy vibe of the restaurant was nice. The happy hour menu is solid - we ordered the steak tips (cooked perfectly and flavorful), crispy Brussels sprouts, and fries with a trio of dipping sauces. Everything was fresh, well-seasoned, and came out quickly. The fries were good - crispy and not greasy. It was $2 extra for the three aiolis. My friend and I split the apps so with food and tip, it came to just a little over $20 each, which felt like a decent deal for the quality and atmosphere. Would recommend for a relaxed happy hour spot in Seattle!

Google
Best whiskey selection in Seattle by far. Fantastic staff and management. Amazingly welcoming space to enjoy food and drink. Keep up the great work and thank you.

Stopped in with a group of friends after a night out. The drinks were AMAZING! We also had wings and sliders. This is a hidden gem we plan to come back again. Our server was warm and in the holiday spirit!

Had such an awsome evening here… the staff was so welcoming and friendly. The drinks were amazing and yummy… food was so good too. Had the newyork steak and a bottle of the malbec

Been here before pandemic and my first time again since then. I love the ambiance, very accommodating and friendly environment. Prices are reasonable. If Im in Seattle (Im from Vancouver, BC) and i want to chill this is my to go to place. Good sounds and drinks! Very good service too! Highly recommended!

A very lively cocktail bar with very personable staff & chef. We only ordered appetizers & drinks, but both were very good. We'll definitely return soon!

Yelp
Steak bites were delicious. The bolognese was good but was missing something. Could have been a bit more flavorful as I had high hopes. Very chill vibe and nice place for a date or to meet friends.

Yelp
Planning a business meal from the East Coast was a challenge. Not familiar with Seattle, but knowing its great food scene, I did extensive research on nice - but not toooooo fancy - dinner options for group of 7, post-work on a weekday in the South Lake Union neighborhood. Ultimately, I landed on re:public due to the menu options, reasonable prices, and decent reviews across all platforms. My expectations were beyond met. Every review mentions the pork chop, and it's for a good reason. I loved it; 6 out of 7 of us ordered it, and the 7th person was a vegetarian. We all cleaned our plates, if that tells you anything. Our service was attentive, and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. I honestly anticipated 6 pork chops taking a while - but it was fast! It's a bit dim lit inside; the type of place my dad would need his cellphone flashlight. However, it's cozy and chic without being too over the top fancy. I found it to be the perfect spot for what we wanted, and I was more than pleased with the experience at re:public.

Yelp
I've wanted to try this restaurant for ages and never seemed to find a good time to make it. Glad I was able to make it in and try their tasty food. Server was delightful and attentive. Food was amazing!! We had the roasted Brussels sprouts with a spicy carrot purée (my favorite) Chicken wings - were delicious but WOW they were spicy!! Bolognese pasta was hearty and well seasoned. Tasty espresso martini. Cute and welcoming location.

Yelp
I was not starving, but I definitely needed to eat something. This place was a five minute walk from my hotel. Does not look like much from the outside, but inside definitely a cool vibe. Very welcoming and inviting. I just took a seat at the bar. Service was great, answered all my questions, and service was relatively quick. Of course I'm a bourbon guy so I really did love this place. But the steak bites appetizer was absolutely delicious with a nice bartenders choice, Manhattan! The shrimp and grits, were very good. A little bit different than I'm used to in Florida, but great presentation. I had that with a nice pour of Baker seven year. Bartender was great to talk to and very knowledgeable. As you can see from the pictures, there are even more choices and they have up on the board depending what you're willing to spend. There were definitely some things I wanted to try, but I was leaving early the next morning and still had a whole trip ahead of me. All in all very reasonable. The food was very, very good and presented with a definite chef flare. The Manhattan and the generous pour of Bakers were $15 each, which I consider very reasonable. If I'm back in Seattle again, I would definitely go back!

Yelp
Great spot for food & whiskey in SLU. With brick walls and a wall full of whiskey, it's a great place for a group of friends. The Kurobuta pork chop was rich and full of flavor, and the Brussels sprouts were tasty as well. Service was timely and friendly.

Yelp
I actually found myself struggling with this review. I had always been curious about the bar and it was a wonderful surprise smack dab in the middle of all the high-tech madness that is the Westlake/Mercer insanity. The use of space was excellent, the decor was nice and felt reclaimed. With its exposed wooden beams and hardwood floors. I should warn everyone that if you are going there to try the chicken sandwich that is in some of the pictures. It is no longer served there and hasn't been for years. The food was excellent and the ketchup and mayo's are all made in house. My vesper martini was made perfectly with lemon, just the way I like. The ONE problem I had was that the barkeep, who was friendly enough, played country music the entire time I was there. He said that he was tired of the playlist that they played most nights. Which is cool, I guess BUT, it tends to be synonymous with the same kind of people who wave conferderate or swastika flags. So, I wasn't feeling that. However, not withstanding that, I will most definitely be going back...maybe just not during happy hour. I can definitely recommend this place for a change of pace in the Mercer/Westlake area.

Yelp
3.5 Stars Came again for dinner and though I love the stylish vibes, I did feel like the food was just okay. Hence, updated review.

Yelp
Great service, good, and selection of bourbons. My steak bites were tender and perfectly seasoned. There were plenty of frites and the old-fashioned was so great I had two

Yelp
Nice late night dinner and drink spot in downtown. After a twilight round of golf I was looking for a bar with a late night menu. Re:public was close to my hotel and open. The regular kitchen closes at 10PM, but their late night menu is available until 11:30PM. Several solid options available late night. I went with the crunchy tofu, which I recommend. The bartender Scott was great. Very nice and personable. We talked golf and local beers. Great all around experience. I highly recommend as a late dinner spot.

Yelp
Fun and lively vibe. Definitely a happening place on a Wednesday night. It was a light meal night so I opted for the clams in a yummy garlic sauce that was light and included very thin and flavorful chucks of bacon. I ordered a side of garlic to spread on the baguette of bread that comes with this dish. Didn't disappoint! The service was great as well.

Yelp
Very trendy downtown eatery and bar. Our server was excellent and attentive the food was delicious. I had the wild boar pappardelle Delish and unusual.

Yelp
Went here based on the reviews since we were visiting the area and wanted bites for the evening. We noticed the restaurant was busy and there were people drinking and gathering for events which seemed like a great place to be. We got seated fairly quick for being walk ins. Well we had quite the opposite experience, it was a disappointing dining experience and quite underwhelming. Let's start with apps. We got the Manila clams served with specked ham, broth and bread. Probably the most shells I've ever had in a clam dish. We also got the steak bites though we got med-rare most of them were closer to well done. This was ok- wasn't terrible but wasn't tender like the reviews or description suggested. We shared a Nashville chicken sandwich with fries and this was the point where we had to call it and not order anything else. The chicken is described to draper valley fried which I'm sure doesn't mean burnt breading. At first I wondered did we say we wanted it blackened? Maybe this was a result of multiple spices trying to give it them benefit of the doubt. Oh boy! One bite and we knew this was ridiculously burnt and smelled and tasted horrible. We tried to flag down our waitress who questioned why it was brought out. At this point, we didn't really enjoy our meal anymore and sent it back for obvious reasons. The waitress didn't come back to check on us or explain anything. When she came back, she seemed annoyed saying she took it off the check and from there our experience just felt uncomfortable as we tried to finish the rest of our food and paid and left. Based on my experience of food and service, I would not recommend re:public.

Yelp
We stopped by re:public during a trip into Seattle, it didn't disappoint! If you're heading to the area for business or pleasure I'd highly recommend this dining establishment. The food was clean, refreshing and much needed after getting off our flight. If I was a local in the area it would be a spot I'd frequent consistently. Given the atmosphere it's a great location for a first date, meeting up with coworkers or just to enjoy a good meal. I'll be sure to visit re:public again next time I'm in town.

Yelp
Came here because it was close to our hotel and the reviews were decent here. We went during dinner time and we were able to get a table when we first walked in. It was packed and loud, so if you want a quiet and romantic date, this is not the place for you. The 3 stars is because the waitress we had was checked out mentally. She was very dismissive, not just us, but her whole section. The risotto was fine, it was average. The pork chop was the highlight of the meal. It had a nice char and it was flavorful. I recommend getting that if you're going to come here and eat. Everything else was pretty average. We wouldn't come back if we came to visit the city again. Nothing memorable, except for our waitress and not in a good way.

Yelp
Came here for Valentine's Day, it did not disappoint. Very elegant yet relaxed atmosphere and incredible food. The wild boar bolognese is a must! We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Visited this restaurant during our stay in Seattle. We walked in about 20 mins after they opened so we were the only people there for our entire lunch. With that being said, the service was perfect! The restaurant is very small, cute, and in a nice location. The food was excellent. We ordered off the happy hour menu and were really happy with the items that we tried. Would return here again.

Yelp
Food was well prepared and tasty. Cocktails were delicious. Service was very attentive. Very comfortable place.

Yelp
And we came back! I was dreaming of those brussel sprouts. We grabbed some whiskey sours and apps. Finn, our bartender, was amazing. He was attentive, gave recommendations and made our visit so enjoyable as we casually chatted about food, and visiting Seattle. We ordered the Brussels again--delish! Along with their wings in hot sauce and extra crispy. Omg the meat was juicy...those wings were legit! Also back to Finn, he was so kind that he even wrote down his whiskey sour recipe for me so I can learn to make it. Thank you! Next time we are out here...this spot will always be on the list. Thanks for the hospitality, great food and service!

Yelp
I came here on a Saturday night during my Seattle trip. It looked pretty busy inside with great vibes, so decided to give it a shot. We were seated immediately in a cozy booth. The bar looked really stocked, so we decided to order a few cocktails. My partner ordered a paloma, while I got a French 75. The French75 was pretty delicious, pretty standard. The paloma was ridiculously strong and tasted like straight tequila, and I don't think I would recommend it. My partnered ordered the boar bolognese, and I did try a bite of it. I thought it was delicious, but my partner said that consistency of the plate was not there. He said that some of the pasta pieces were more cooked than others, and that you get tired of the flavor of it after a while. I ordered the steak with chimichurri, and a side of fries. The fries were absolutely delicious and tasted fresh and well seasoned. The steak was cooked well, but I think that there was too much chimichurri on it. I think that it had some tomatoes that just didn't complement the dish. The dish also came with vegetables roasted in duck fat that were also pretty good. Service was great, and the waitress was super nice to us! At the end of the night she gave us a list of recommendations for bars/clubs to visit in Seattle when we told her that we were out of town and were looking for places to go. I think that the food wasn't underwhelming, nor did it blow us our minds, it was just kind of there. Fries were definitely the best foods that we got. The vibes looked pretty fun, but I don't think I'd recommend this spot if looking for great food.

Yelp
This is a go-to after-work spot for all the Amazon employees when we're doing something classier than Sam's. I really like the upscale vibe and it's relatively easy to accommodate a big group if you make an effort in advance. The lighting is cozy, the drinks are good, and the servers are relatively nice and gracious enough to split the bill more often than not. I haven't had a lot of the food here, but it's worth it to just come for drinks.
google avatar

Yelp
Great restaurant and bar in south lake Union area in Seattle. Place is packed with Amazon crowd and employees from nearby tech companies. Call ahead to check seating. Great menu selections, ordered Tofu Miso with black rice and Bokchoy and it's flavorful just the right serving. Price is double dollars for the location and demographics. Service is fast. Ambiance is a bit noisy and a little bit dark with a small candle for you to read the menu. This place is more happy hour young crowd friendly.
google avatar

Maryanne L.

Yelp
Love this spot! Great for HH, dinner and late night eats! The staff is great and super easy to book reservations. Everything on the menu is yummy! Ambiance is always on point.

Yelp
It officially becomes my favorite place in seattle! I didn't know why it's always packed when I pass by but now I know! We wasn't that hungry so just ordered some small bites: clams and steak bites. The clam: no joking, the best I've ever had it's a bit creamy and lightly spicy. Steak bites: I knew it's gonna be good as soon as I cut it with a knife. It's so tender like baby's skin. Sauté with peppers and there's some creamy sauce (maybe it's tahini?) that went so well with i. Cocktails: mojito and Moscow mule are also 5/5

Yelp
Love this place. Friendly service (I sat at the bar), greet whiskey and tequila choices, and great food... let me emphasize "great food". I had the pork chop which I highly recommend but even the mixed salad was precisely Made with a purpose. Fair prices and lively atmosphere. Ask for Jordan at the bar. Cool dude and great representative of re:public.

Lara S.

Yelp
Awesome place. Great atmosphere, friendly service and good drinks. One of the few places in Seattle that doesn't inexplicably close super early as well! Highly recommend.

Madison E.

Yelp
The food was amazing!!! They have tons of delicious options and the prices are pretty good for Seattle standards. The portions are pretty generous too. I had their signature old fashioned and it was worth the hype! The place is a good in-between of finer dining and a casual spot if you want drinks and small plates or a full on meal. The service was pretty good and quick!

Yelp
I came here one night for a work dinner. This restaurant is a popular place in SLU, and although it is a bit expensive, I recommend giving it a try! AMBIENCE: warm and dark FOOD: Brussel Sprouts - absolutely delicious with smoked Parmesan, Sunchoke Puree, Old Fashioned Vinaigrette Steak Bites - The steak was way too overcooked, and I wouldn't get it again. The prime tenderloin bites came with caramelized onions and peppers and horseradish-thyme cream. Prime New York Steak - heavenly prime steak with caramelized Shallot & Cream, Sweet Baby Carrots, Grilled Spring Onions, Confit Potato. 10/10. DRINKS: I believe this place is known for its cocktails and whiskey. I got the RE:Public Old Fashioned, which was probably one of the best that I've had. The Moscow Mule was quite standard. SERVICE: attentive and friendly Overall, this place is a bit expensive, but it's worth a try.
google avatar

Kelly P.

Yelp
Recommend the clams and spring salad!! Wonderful creamy buttery herb sauce of the clams got me slurpin' the last bit, accompanied by a spring salad that got me feeling like the healthiest person in the bar. Shared the Brussels sprouts as an app- they were cooked excellently, but struck out on flavor as the sauce of "carrot purée" did not mesh well, and should be left for baby foods and plating decor at Michelin star restaurants. Classy, (mostly) scrumptious upscale food, drink, and bar/restaurant!
google avatar

Ally S.

Yelp
Would probably give 3.5 stars. Good ambiance but a little loud. Pasta was alright. I actually really liked the risotto. Thought it tasted really fresh with the lemon and cheese. Good quantity of vegetables. Nice service.
google avatar

Amanda H.

Yelp
Such a cute spot! I had the seafood pasta and it did not disappoint! It was a great balance of seafood, veggies, and pasta. My friend had the steak and also loved it! The resturant felt cozy and familiar. I'd definitely visit again!

Yelp
Stopped in with my buddy after a Seattle Seahawks game. Even though the Hawks lost that night, there were plenty of fans at this place, having a good time and lamenting certain plays as they played on the televisions throughout the bar. Overall, this place had a great atmosphere. Our server was super friendly and took our drink orders promptly. When she came back with our drinks, we ordered. I went with the Double R Ranch Bacon Burger: beef patty with Gruyere cheese, arugula, confit garlic shallot aioli between a brioche bun. The burger was cooked medium: perfection! The burger, as a whole, was delicious. The side of fries were solid as well. Next time I'm in Seattle, I'll definitely be back to try the Wild Boar Bolognese (which just sounds delicious).
google avatar

Michael L.

Yelp
Interesting place. Atmosphere is dark. Only 2 TVs so not a great "game watching" place. Bartender was very slow although pleasant. Was only about 5 people at the bar at this time. Food choices weren't amazing but decent. Would be a great date place for drinks and food. Not sure what night life is like however we enjoyed our time.
google avatar

Yelp
We absolutely love Re:Public and are glad this venue has been able to remain through pandemic and also maintain quality and availability despite ongoing supply chain issues. This place has one of the best late night menus in the city, and items are marked gluten free or vegetarian. I usually get the steak bites and my partner and I will split the brussel sprouts. He's gotten the miso tofu bowl and the bok choy at different points but felt the brussel sprouts were definitely better. Friends have gotten the burger and the Mac and cheese, pretty much everything on the menu has been a success (with the exception of the bok choy). I usually get earl grey and tea and partner gets an old fashioned where I'll steal a sip. He's also gotten various whiskeys, Angel's Envy, High West Midwinter Nights Dram, among others which has been a fun experience exploring new whiskeys while enjoying old favorites. This is nice spot to go to for a meal and drinks before or after plans downtown.
google avatar

Chris T.

Yelp
Love the service, food, and every single person that works there. They're an amazing crew that pays attention to detail and presents an amazing experience as a whole. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone. My favorite item is the wild boar bolognese

Yelp
First visit was an event after a work offsite and they knocked it out of the park! Food, service, and atmosphere were great for a large team. I have the NY Steak and it was amazing! The tofu was even incredible.
google avatar

Alison G.

Yelp
Recently held our team dinner here. It was easy to work with management to book and they accommodated our group total even with last min changes. If you are looking for somewhere quiet, this is not the place for you. While we were placed at the back of the restaurant, it is quite bustling and loud so it did feel like I was unintentionally yelling to have a conversation with my coworkers. Next time I'd consider for a HH with friends vs for work. Initial service was timely for drinks and appetizers but waiting for our entrees took a bit of a wait since the whole restaurant was packed. Ordered the brussel sprouts, bok choy, charcuterie, extra bread, and fries. I'd probably reorder all but the bok choy again. I ended up ordering the pork chop and cheesy grits for my entree. The pork itself was cooked just right but I didn't really prefer the marinade which was sweet/tangy and overwhelmed the sautéed greens and pork. The grits were a bit chunky and not oozing with cheese. I surprisingly liked these. Big portion and I ate the rest as leftovers the next day. Overall not bad but just depends on the kind of dining experience you are looking for.

Yelp
Decided to stop by today as the reviews looked good. First of all, I will say the drinks were very good and extremely well made. Food was was poor... we got the steamed clams and the flavor was great but the dish was pretty cold when it was brought out which is concerning for a seafood dish... My husband got the NY strip steak -- wasn't expecting much but the steak was very unevenly cooked. Parts were completely charred and well done and some spots with barely any pink but some... definitely not medium-rare. It comes with a chimichurri sauce on top which was EXTREMELY acidic. It tasted like it was 99% red wine vinegar. I ordered the seared halibut and the "consumé" it was served in was not much of a consumé, picture more of an oily red broth that is over salted. Fish was over cooked and oily. We were the first party in the restaurant and there was only one other party there and the food took an extremely long time before it was served. Our waitress was very kind and compensated us some for the wait which was very nice as we didn't even complain about this; she just had realized that the experience was not so great so she did her best to make it right. Overall, good place for a drink but I'd stay away from any food...

Yelp
Came for late night foods. Got the steak bites, sliders, and fries. All delicious, one downside is the fries came out well after we had finished everything else. Waitress was a delight. Place is very loud, but we were expecting that.

C F.

Yelp
We walked in and not nicely greeted by a hostess in a camo jacket which made us hesitant; however, after being sat our server was on it! The place is a little loud but the ambiance had a good feel. We had the New York strip which amazing. The mac and cheese with prawns and pork belly was equally delicious as well. The price of a three person meal with drinks was about $150, not bad for the quality of food. Hostess should be more welcoming is my only complaint but still giving five stars
google avatar

Adel W.

Yelp
This place seemed to be packed with work parties on a Wednesday night, as it is in the middle of a group of Amazon offices. The food and ambiance here is pretty nice, but not worth for the price in my opinion. If the meal wasn't covered by our company budget, I probably wouldn't have chosen this spot. A steak and some fries was $40, while pasta was almost $30 as well; it was nothing special!

Yelp
Cool spot to chill. The food was decent and the service cool. I say come try them out.

Yelp
Restaurant and bar in South Lake Union. Looks nice inside, and interior is larger than it seems from the outside. They also have heated outdoor tents with picnic tables set up in the empty lot next to their building, although the heaters don't quite cover the inner most row of tables (where we sat), so it can get colder as the night goes on. Went on a normal weeknight and they were around half full. Menu has some beer, wine, cocktails for drinks. Food is American pub food and some pasta. Got the burger which came with fries. Burger was pretty sizable and had a decent bun, but the patty was a bit dry. Not a good burger for the $19 price tag. Fries were okay. This along with one beer ($7) with tax and gratuities (automatically added for larger groups) was over $30. Also had a tasted of the fried Brussel sprouts and steak bites and those were nothing notable about those. Overall, food wasn't that great for the price.

Yelp
Experience 8/10 Risotto 9/10 Burger 8/10 Drinks 7.5/10 Price 5/10 We came around 5pm on a sunny day and I liked that the patio area was mostly in the shade! I think all the people sitting in the patio got served in to go boxes instead of plates which I don't mind Makes it easier to bring leftovers home anyway.

Yelp
Solid South Lake Union pub-ish restaurant. Good options for food and cocktails, especially if you're a whiskey/bourbon drinker. Reasonable prices too!
google avatar

Kyle W.

Yelp
Modern and sleek restaurant in the heart of South Lake Union that I often pass by on my walk commute to work, but I only finally tried this now as I do not really go to American restaurants often. This was only under my radar as my friend only wanted drinks and I wanted to have a little bit of dinner, and this place has small bites so it works out perfectly. I got the steak bites which was pretty juicy and flavorful, especially with the red pepper and caramelized onions. Horseradish-thyme cream sounded like the sauce is very strong, but the flavor leans towards creamy than horseradish-like. I wished they asked what type of rare-ness for the steak, as it was cooked medium-well and I prefer more of a medium-rare or medium whenever possible. I also got the Manhattan which was decently strong and it went well with the steak bites. Compared to other restaurants, the cocktails are of better value. As this is more of an American restaurant, service was very good. It wasn't too busy during Sunday dinner so we were able to chat a bit after paying the bill and were not rushed out. I do see this as an appealing spot for socializing and catching up in general, as the volume level is not too loud in here and the ambience is great. Apparently it is also a fairly popular spot for work-related socials.

Yelp
I ate here on a Monday night at 5 pm. The good part was it was not crowded, it was quiet so we could talk and service/food delivery was rapid. All that said , I was disappointed in the menu. Almost every dish had cheese, butter, deep fried food or red meat. For example - a seafood pasta dish was in a butter sauce and the tofu dish had deep fried tofu. I was disappointed there were very few healthy options. I ended up getting the salad with cut up shrimp added to it. The greens were fresh but it was just nothing special or memorable.

Staci F.

Yelp
I highly recommend this place and definitely will be going back to try more menu items! The ambiance, food, portion size, price were very impressive. The entire setup felt very COVID safe. We dined in their outdoor area which was clean, spacious, heated and covered. Food: we started with the Manila clams and the steak bites. Highly recommend both! Both dishes were very delicious and the portion size for both was large so definitely shareable. We shared the wild boar bolognese and the meat was so tender and tasty! This too was a generous portion and perfect for sharing. We also did the dessert and that did not disappoint either! Our food came out pretty quickly and the staff was attentive! This was such a great experience

My daughter was celebrating her 13th birthday and she saw their menu online and wanted to go there for the wild boar bolognese. Nowhere do they indicate they are an over 21 bar. The name is re:public restaurant and bar. Since when is a restaurant over 21? They should call it "re:public bar" if the whole place is considered a bar. We sat down and the server gave us attitude and was like "oh no, we're over 21 here." As if it's public knowledge and we should have known. I would not have cared as much if it weren't my daughter's birthday and if she didn't have her heart set on the bolognese. Luckily, there are plenty of good options within walking distance. We left and found another place. I've been there at other times. The food is good but not good enough to deal with the attitude. Very disappointing experience. I hope they fix their name or make it more clear that it's an over-21 establishment.

Yelp
I booked for a event with 14 people - 5 days in advance. Even then ended up with two separate tables placed such that the group could not talk ! It was a very difficult set up to work with ! There was one staff member who was very very rude ! Specifically- i.constantly snapping at us (almost disrespectfully) about moving away from Aisle when they gave a group of 14 people two table which are not set up for the group to talk/move freely. ii. When we asked for a a place where we could talk, were told "DO NOT move the table" like really snapping and not polite way ! The only good thing is food.

Yelp
Takeout order was fast and delicious. I wouldn't choose to dine in as the decibel level was off the charts.
