"This Pompano Beach spot has been open for less than a year, but is already making waves. Its $55 per person menu is available round-the-clock daily and includes sesame edamame as a starter, two sushi rolls (go for the seared salmon roll as one of ‘em), and a mochi dessert. The ocean views make for an excellent course in itself, too." - Jesse Scott

This was my first time staying at this hotel. My family and I drove 20 hours for a much-anticipated vacation, and we had reserved an oceanfront room. However, upon arrival, we were extremely disappointed to find that the room only offered a partial ocean view. Even worse, the ceiling was visibly covered in mold, which appeared to have been poorly concealed with paint rather than properly treated. The room had an unbearable odor, making it impossible for us to stay. When I approached the assistant hotel manager to express our concerns, I was met with hostility and an unprofessional attitude. He dismissively told me I could cancel my reservation if I didn’t like it and assured me of a refund—but in a manner that was rude, aggressive, and shockingly uncalled for. His behavior bordered on confrontational, as if my request for a clean, accurate room description was unreasonable. As the COO of a hospitality business myself, I was appalled by how we were treated. I would never allow any guest to be spoken to or handled this way. My wife was deeply upset by the entire experience. We ultimately decided to cancel our stay and find another hotel. Unfortunately, getting our refund was another ordeal. The assistant manager made the process extremely difficult, and after two hours standing in the heat, we finally received our money back. This was by far one of the worst hotel experiences we've ever had. I strongly advise others to avoid this hotel, as the facilities were unacceptable and the customer service was truly disgraceful.

The hotel was beautiful. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Rooms perfect. View amazing. Special thank you to front desk staff and wait staff. It was a beautiful weekend. If you've never been this is truly a hidden gem.

Extremely professional manager, Ms. Jesse, provided us an outstanding check-in experience. But unfortunately I can't say the same about her male collegue who was working with her at the reception on the 15th of June. My wife and my 2 children were enjoying the swimming pool and no towels were available. My wife went to the reception to request towels but she was bluntly denied by the reception staff who alleged that the pool was closed and no further assistance would be provided as a consequence. According to the hotel rules, the pool is open from DAWN to DUSK. But the towels were requested before the SUNSET time. Therefore, by strict definition before DUSK. Fortunately on the way back to the pool, she found an extremely helpful pool staff who not only denied the pool closure but quickly provided the the towels to my wife and 2 children. All the positive points that the hotel may have were tarnished by the reception staff behavior. I was by then planning to stay again at the hotel in June,2026. But the plan was washed away after this stingy and unhelpful attitude in denying help and towels to a family in a beach hotel.

This is the best hotel I’ve been to in Florida the breakfast was delicious. The room was amazing. It was very spacious and super clean the pool also amazing and the kids loved it the bar so good. I love the location and the beach was the hotel was on the beach. We loved it definitely we’re going back every time we go to Florida loved the place.

Google
Solid hotel but what makes it the one to pick is the service. The service from EVERYONE has been out of this world. The front desk has helped with every request, the bar has been kind, quick, and delicious. The beach attendants…the most attentive we’ve had in a long time. A fun weekend trip made better by ALL the staff.

This place is TRASH. Avoid at all costs! Rude front desk staff, old but expensive rooms in desperate need of renovation The beach location of this property and cabana/pool staff are the only good things about this place. My family of 3 (myself, husband, and 9 y/o child) stayed for 3 nights over the Easter holiday. It was our second and LAST time staying at this property. Here is the breakdown of our stay: - Marriott Rewards Level: Titanium Elite - Check-in: Unhelpful front desk associate stated that the hotel is "sold out" and there are still people left to check-in, so best-available room was #906, despite us making our reservation over 3 months ago and Titanium Elite status. - Room: 906. Old, dank smell, and partial ocean view. Broken couch falling in on itself. Black mold in the shower (see attached photos). Periodically throughout the day and night the drain in the kitchen sink gurgles and swirls with loud noises when a toilet flushes. The engineer was supposed to come and check it out and repair it but never did. Also, phone didn't work unless it was on speaker. Room has small round table with 3 chairs for eating and a two-burner cooktop. There is a washer/dryer, which is one of the reasons we elected to stay here. - Housekeeping: Came into our room twice trying to clean after being told we were 1). Still here, 2). Had 4 pm confirmed late check out, and 3). Marriott's "Clean Later" magnet on door alerting housekeeping that we did not want our cleaned at that time. Housekeeping entered room while I was in the shower. After that, I put the safety lock on which prevented a third entry when they tried again 45 minutes later. - Pool: Small pool surrounded by lots of palm trees which are beautiful but make the pool very cold due to excessive shade. - "Hot" tub: Broken during our entire stay. We were told the temperature would be fixed but it never was. Hot tub was colder than the pool. - Breakfast: Pitiful. Basically a Continental breakfast with the addition of scrambled eggs and some sort of breakfast meat (sausage or corned beef hash). We tried it one day and ate off-property after that.

Frank and Antonio vallet guys, were phenomenal. Extremely friendly, great with our kids and fast service. Everything done with a smile. Very helpful all around.||The front desk crew were accomodating and very nice. Room service was odd. Towels folded strangly and no replenishment of soap bars. And there was NO mini travel throw aways (toothpaste). Breakfast on the weekends were exceptional. Weekday breakfast weak. Rooms could absolutely use some updating. Out of the two bathrooms there was No bath tub. Disappointing if you have littles. ||The hotel restaurant food was good. Drinks over priced. They were only open Wed-Sun. Which wasn't convenient. We arrived Sat and left on Wed. ||The place next door Seaside Grill was very good. Highly recommend their food and drinks. Drinks were extremely reasonable.

Google
I would rate this hotel/valet/guest services 10/10!! We have never stayed at a hotel where we have been treated so well! Every single person has been nothing short of amazing! My husband had to work 2 of the days we were there, the staff was so helpful to me as I had my 6 year old and 1 year old with me. They helped me in and out of the car, at the pool, getting me to the elevator with the stroller…all of the things! I literally can’t say enough about the whole experience! If we ever come back to the area there is no question we will be staying here again!

Yelp
The service in the hotel is of 5 star quality. you are greeted by most professional friendly staff. Supervised by Jason. Thank you for making my stay enjoyable. Brian

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places now. All the years i used to stay around Hollywood beach, Fort Lauderdale. This time we made a change and came to Pompano beach. Which made me really happy and the hotel is pretty good. After you check in, going up to the rooms, when you get out of the elevator, it throws you off to walk to your room in an open air hallway. But at the end it fits to the environment, and you get used to it. When we were in the room, the door sweep was thorn, so i asked the front desk to replace it, done. The staff is extremely helpful, pleasant and welcoming. We rented room with a kitchen, well worth it, room comes with washer, dryer, dishwasher and fridge. Also cooking pots, dinnerware and silverware. Pool and hot tub is available. The beach is right there. Close to many shop around. Will definitely come back here again.

Yelp
This small quaint hotel right on the beach made me nostalgic for the days of family summer getaways in Miami sadly we have no more of these in the 305. It may not be the most luxurious place but what it lacks in luxury it more than makes up for with their amazing staff from the managers to the front desk to the cleaning staff and let's not forget the staff at Zoe's beachside cafe on premise (separate review for that) Here are just a few of the names I was able to remember, Andres, Jason, Luigi, Ashley, Daniela, Maria, Jessie, Skyler and Mauricio a great big thank you to all of you for making our family birthday Labor Day get together a time to remember and thanks for all that you did to accommodate us! As I mentioned to Andres it's not every day in South Florida that you can brag about how pleasant ALL of the staff is! The rooms although older were kept very clean and the views were great! Definitely a small gem worth the visit in Pompano Beach, we will definitely be back

Yelp
Hands Down, the employees are nice. Most of them. No issues there. Guys at the beach, awesome. People at the pool super cool. Front desk, nice, nice, nice except for one older lady who never acknowledged us. Rooms: Dated and gross looking. I didn't want to walk on the carpet or sit on the ancient couch with lots of stains. Honestly, theses are like mini studios so if you're traveling with family it's perfect. For me, not so much. Also, I love love animals but there is some level of compassion you should have for people who don't like dogs or who are allergic to them. My kid is allergic so this hotel would have had him itching. The fact that they don't enforce rules for pets is kinda weird. I wish I would have known they allow pets. I wouldn't have booked here. It was a great learning experience. Food was decent too didn't expect free food with the stay so the coffee and oatmeal were a nice extra. Totally would have been a five star hotel if it wasn't so dated.

Yelp
Most of the staff is friendly, but some were less helpful. We went down for breakfast 10 mins before 9:30am closing and they were already cleaning up. Lights were off at 9:31am and most everything was already cleaned up. The best thing going for this hotel is that it's oceanfront. The rooms are more 2.5-3 star as the sheets weren't comfortable, pillows were flat and toilet paper felt like tissue paper. Rooms were also older but you can see they tried to renovate but seemed to be a few years ago. It was nice to have a full fridge though. The pics I saw made the pool and terrace seem much bigger than it is. There is a restaurant onsite but it's pricey. Room offered bottled water but for $8 plus 18% service tax. If we came to Pompano again, I'd choose a different hotel.

Yelp
WOW! First the staff here knows customer service. We had a wonderful weekend stay and will come back soon. Another positive is that the rooms are clean from sand. Often when we stay at beach hotels there is a residue of sand everywhere. The food at the beach/pool bar was yummy. Nothing fancy, but tasty. If I were going to suggest a place for growth, boozey drinks can use better well products. I can't wait to come back!! The staff here was amazing!!

Alyson K.

Yelp
Absolutely horrible Used to have great staff that we would come back for but not any more. Do not recommend

Yelp
Oh Residence Inn. You went from 5 to 2 to 3 and finally up to 4 stars! It was a rollercoaster of a short time there but in the end, a solid place for a local to have a night out. Initially, the hotel had me jazzed! Right on the beach. Close to a buddy's house I was going to party at. Bar inside. Large rooms. The thrill wore off. We ran out to get a few things and returned. Key card didn't work. App didn't work. So we told the front desk. Sure thing, they're sending someone to fix the lock as it's likely the battery. 30 mins goes by and we're standing outside our room like goofballs so we head to the desk and I ask if there is an ETA to fix our lock. Incidentally, it was the manager and he said maintenance had said it's fixed. Nah bruh! We had no one come up. That goof up isn't the hotels fault per se, it's the maintenance worker. South Florida in general lacks a work ethic. Run up and the manager and the maintenance tech are fixing the lock. Groovy. I mentioned to the manager that this kind of is a bummer and he made it right. So I absolutely appreciate him going above and beyond to help me feel valued. By then, our day was meh so we just hung out. Another nit picky issue is the thermostat was finicky. I didn't bother calling because at this point, I just wanted a little relax time. Breakfast the next morning wasn't bad -- standard hotel breakfast but it was included. So that's rad! All in all, if I was an out of towner, this would be a solid place to land! Pros: staff is great Bar is pretty solid On the beach Nice pool area Water sports rentals Cons: valet only Little dated Slightly weird room layout and features

Jodi M.

Yelp
Need new employees who are courteous. Dallas and Luigi were friendly and helpful. Front desk manager and bar manager need new jobs. Our family of 4 only drinks one alcohol and they were out of it for the entire 5 days were there. Had to go the the store up the street to buy our own Pool towels were scarce. Toilet in room was dirty Kicked out of pool early with kids. Save your money and go elsewhere

Lisa D.

Yelp
This is the second time we've stayed at this hotel -- last summer and this summer while my son was in surf camp. Worth it for the close proximity to the beach but rooms need TLC! Pros: - amazing beach views and direct beach access - all staff members were friendly and helpful - nice little pool area - complimentary breakfast with a pretty good selection including vegetarian and gluten free options - washer/dryer in room... super helpful! - full size fridge and dishwasher in the kitchen area - rooms are large - evening popcorn in lobby which my son loved - restaurant serves "mock tails" - again, fun for kids (but expensive) Cons: - rooms REALLY need updating and maintenance, or at least ours did ... there was mold on the wall in the bathroom and under the window sill, beds were a bit worn, stains on furniture - AC was loud and smelled! Dirty ceiling in front of the air flow. I called the front desk and they immediately sent maintenance to change the filter and clean the area which I appreciated ... and while he probably did his best, it didn't help enough. It obviously has not been serviced in a while and/or is very old. - flies in the lobby and around breakfast area - excessive valet parking fees, $32 a night, without other parking options.

Kalvin K.

Yelp
Not sure why this place was $200 a night. It's a 1970s poorly designed hotel that has beach access. The doors are external facing which is common for this era of hotels but the interior is the problem. They had hot showers but the bathroom is laid out poorly and makes you feel like you're at someone's weird home than a hotel. There is free breakfast but it starts at a late time of 7 am. Parking is valet only - not a problem usually if the valet is there full time. The hotel had no record of me turning in my car - in fact they argued with me saying I didn't have a car parked there even though I was charged for it and had my claim ticket. Idiots.

Brett B.

Yelp
Great visit and location. Staff is amazing. Would stay here again in the future. Thank you for the hospitality.

Julia B.

Yelp
I would not recommend this stay if you are interested in using the pool or hot tub after 8 pm. It was a huge let down being kicked out when the sun was not yet down while watching it's overpriced restaurant, which surrounds it, stay open. All surrounding hotels and resorts had outdoor pools and hot tubs that stayed open until the typical 10 or 11 pm. The restaurant was prioritized over guests and the customer service was little to none. Also, one of our room's door did not lock during the duration of our stay. When we reported it, they came to fix it, yet it still wouldn't lock and would simply open when pulling on the handle. The rooms were nice and the beach was relaxing, but I would recommend looking at the surrounding options as we had a hard time with some of their ridiculous policies and lack of customer service.

Puttana H.

Yelp
Amazing. Beach and customer service is great. By the beach. My husband and I never left the hotel. We did beach day everyday. On Saturday, they did run out of towels though? That's the only complaint though. The free breakfast is OK.

Katty F.

Yelp
DO NOT STAY HERE. the rooms smells like dogs. they don't clean the rooms and i'm sure there are bed bugs. customer service front desk is horrible. and to top it off they lie about their rates. the guy carlos give me a quote for 3 nights and when i check out it was $400 more than what he said i was going to pay. do yourself a favor and don't stay there.

Alexandra K.

Yelp
Pat who is the feral night audit for the front desk, supported by current Front Desk Manager Jason Taylor Stern, called the police on my family and had us removed in the middle of the night. myself, my 60 year old mother along with my 3 VERY Young sleeping children (ages 2, 4 and 9) were forced at 2 am to leave the hotel because of the aforementioned Pat. I had had an issue with Pat the night before and immediately contacted a manager after forcing Pat to give me Jason's information. She literally tried telling me she had no supervisor's info to give me... 4 minutes of arguing later I had Jason Stern's business card in my hand. I emailed him 7 times in the same day awaiting a response about Pat. I was extremely concerned about another issue with Pat if she worked the following night. I had to seek a manager out on property myself, which turned out to be Jason, and he said he'd look into it and speak with Pat etc. The following night there was a second issue with Pat, and because she was the only employee on site allegedly the police took her word over mine that we had "broken the rules". This lady came running to the lobby door body blocking me and crap putting her hands on me. We recorded all this. I'll leave the "rule breaking" judgement up to the internet. My brother and I stayed out on the beach late, came back to find the beach gate is locked. so we climbed it didn't think it was a big deal. Allegedly according to Jason it is a city ordinance to close the gates at 11 pm (which I followed up with the city who immediately got back to me stating there is no such ordinance). However, whether the rule exists or not, it should be posted for guests to se le and it simply isn't. Pat called the police and had us removed in the middle of the night by the police. It is exactly as insane as it sounds, and they did it because she claimed to be the only manager or representative on site. I have photos and video documentation, and a paper trail of communication trying to resolve the issue before it became a big enough problem. This woman needs to be fired and Jason needs a demotion. This was the most poorly I've ever been treated at a hotel... carrying little crying sleepy kids with suitcases downstairs into the car at 2 in the morning, no one deserves that. It was so horribly unnecessary. By the way, there was a couple in the hot tub this entire time, "breaking rules" but Pat had no interest in pursuing anything but ruining my family's experience at this hotel, and her front desk manager enabled her crusade.

Yelp
Great location right on the beach, some great things, but some issues here.... We checked in, then went up to our room to discover although the front desk read the correct reservation, she gave us the wrong room. Back down we went. Took two tries and me showing the website picture to get in the correct room. Once in the correct room, it was a great room! Balcony, couch, full kitchen, washer and dryer all were great. They advertised and had pictures of happy hour from 4-7 with chairs outside between the bar and pool. While we there each night by 6pm the bar windows and doors were closed, no outdoor bar seating and we were told pool was only open dawn to dusk. We felt like we wasted money picking the hotel if pool wasnt usuable and cocktails scarce. We tried to order a drink, but as soon as we went into the empty restaurant the bartender said she'd be back. After 10 minutes we walked out to find her standing at the front desk talking. She asked if we still wanted something. I said yes, but we were tired of waiting. She snapped at us and said, "well I was running food." Hard to believe with no customers and her just standing at the desk talking. We met a cook at breakfast and she was fantastic. Great job cooking, great presentation, and she even went to each person handing out smoothies. Cesar the valet gave the best customer service we have had at a hotel by far in a long time. Gold standard for everyone he met! Truly sincere with each customer.

David B.

Yelp
The staff here on the beach were very rude to me.They did not won't to help me and guide me to my location highly don't recommend.

Elaina B.

Yelp
I would not stay here again unless they changed their pool policy. The pool and hot tub closes at 8pm, which has been a huge bummer through out our entire stay. They prioritize their restaurant, which is overpriced and in the pool area, over their guests vacation experience, even if you're an ambassador level member. This stay is great for people who want to be inside by 8pm, but I would not recommend it for millennials.

Robert H.

Yelp
This is a must place for sushi believe it or not you're right on the ocean front chef Tim does a great presentation with only fresh food every day I believe they're open Tuesdays through Sundays

sandra g.

Yelp
We had a great week here! Love the rooms and property including beautiful patio bar, pool, beach and cabana service. We reserved 2 rooms that they put right next to each other - great! We had one wrinkle that was our fault and Liam and Matthew at the desk fixed it for us - so nice! Heads up that the hotel has outside entrances into the rooms for floors 5-9, so if any fear of heights you want a lower floor. We will be back!

Scott K.

Yelp
Only giving 2 stars because the hotel is on the beach PROs Beach Nice pool Room was nice modern and clean Good fitness room Cons Valet only Asked 4 times to get a hair dryer Never knew when of if they would clean the room. The one time they did clean the room, they left the door wedged open.

Dottie Q.

Yelp
It was not a relaxing stay at this hotel. Our flight was delayed and we reached the property at around 12am. To be met by a room that was not cleaned well (dusty), broken light fixers in both bathrooms, hairs in the bathroom, a twist tie on the bath tub, broken security lock, unclean toilet and bath tub, filthy vents, and a hard bed and pillows. We booked through Expedia a room with a room with a view. We received a view of a parking area, a building and trees. If you bent over the railing on one of the balconies, you could see between the trees, a tiny bit of ocean. I wouldn't recommend doing that because there is a risk of falling over the small balcony. That first night, I went down two times and reported the dirty bathroom, broken security lock and no ocean view. I was told something like this is an oceanfront property and you can see the view of the ocean from all of the rooms. Once hearing about the lock and the dirty bathroom, she then said we could possibly get a room change in the morning. That next morning I went down to talk to the front desk and the staff member said something like it was maybe not what we were use to, but that it was an ocean view and that we had to book an oceanfront to be in front of the ocean. Well we weren't expecting to be in front of the ocean, but at the least a partial view. We also explained about the broken lock and dirty room and she then said the manager would call us. Three hours later no call from the manager. I called and was transferred two times to a wrong voicemail and finally on the 3rd time after explaining what was happening, I was put over to Jesse/Jessica. Jessica then stated the same thing as the other staff members, that I had received and ocean view, and she had no available rooms and that she would send up maintenance and cleaning staff to our room, and that if she had a room in the future open up, that she would change us. Well, by the 3rd day we hadn't heard from Jessica. The safety lock was repaired, but the twist tie and hairs were still there, along with the dust and dirty vent. Then on top of that the air conditioner began making a sound when turning back on if the temperature rised, it sounded like an airplane taking off. I was not able to sleep most of the night, because every time I drifted off, the air conditioner started up that sound. It was terrible. I walked around like a zombie from sleep deprivation. That third day, I had it. I was about to check out and go to another hotel, but decided instead to take it up with the front desk. Finally, after hearing that I had a terrible night sleep because of the air conditioner, Jessica then decided to move us. I spoke to hear about 9am. We weren't moved until after 4pm that day. You would think she would have prioritize cleaning sooner a vacated room for us, due to our horrendous stay, but instead she acted as though she was doing us a favor, and prioritized it like if we were just checking in. We only got to stay in that room for hours because we were scheduled to check out the next morning at 11am. There were no apologize from Jessica or the other ladies at the front desk. This is super disappointing. Corporate needs to ensure their managers of their hotels are trained properly, because they lack customer service skills especially when dealing with difficult situations and following up. Vacations for many of us may happen once or twice a year, and we trusted our vacation stay to this hotel, and they definitely missed the mark. Usually, I would be sad to be leaving the paradise like location. In this case, I couldn't wait to check out. The positives were the view, once I received it (for a short time) and the food and pool staff. Once, I complained, I didn't receive warm welcomes from some staff like Jennifer who did not greet me as I passed the desk like she did other customers. Most of us work most of our lives with brief breaks for vacations and we need to make the most out of it. This hotel robbed me of a good experience and it's time I can't get back..I will not stay at any Marriott in the future, nor book through Expedia.

Yelp
Thank you staff-Derek and Justin in the outdoor area (cabana rental) were quite helpful!! Derek is knowledgeable and Justin was diligent and both attentive to our needs in helping us get set up. In addition Justin also made efforts to check in with us and other guests using cabanas to make sure everyone was taken care of which we very much appreciated. Thank you for the wonderful experiences and hospitality and family feel !! We look forward to our next time at the beach which is hopefully tomorrow :) if H. Nicole permits us (Hurricane watch in effect!)

Yelp
Great place great views great staff awesome management. Breakfast in the morning is great. The pool is always warm, jet skiing and the beach has great chairs to relax on.

Tish G.

Yelp
My stay here was only for one night. Although I paid for a room with an ocean view, it was not a very good view. The location itself was very good, which made up for the mediocre service. You walk to the pool area and only habe to go outside of the hotel gate to get to the beach. I had to have my room changed because it had a very strong odor from whatever was cooked by the last guest. Housekeeping should have noticed it when they prepared the room for the next person. The second room that we were assigned had a much better view, although I was originally told that they were sold out and couldn't accommodate my Ocean view request. The young man that checked us out was very nice and gave a bunch of suggestions on area activities. I would rate them as average. The parking is $20 per day and there didn't seem to be any street or other parking options available.

Yelp
Everything you want in a hotel ! Rooms: sound proof (even on Spring Break), black out curtains +++, HUGE-Spacious! Balcony access! Amenities: Heated pool ‍, hot tub, Fort Knox locks on safety! Will hold bags for later departures! Immediate beach access! (relatively quiet 3/27/19-prime Spring Break) Felt like we were the only guests at the hotel.... until, the amazing breakfast! Did I mention--Breakfast Amazing! The staff so friendly! So are the animals! Highly recommended!

Dave O.

Yelp
Jessie at the front desk, super diligent and helpful. 10/10. Thanks for a great stay.

Yelp
I travel extensively, but I have never looked forward to a vacation more than this one. I was majorly stressed out, and I needed a long weekend where I could simply lounge at the beach then the pool and repeat. In came the Residence Inn. Leading up to my stay, I looked at hotel pictures daily to help me relax, and I couldn't wait to arrive. I knew I was booking a Residence Inn, so I wasn't going to get high-end luxury, but that wasn't what this trip was about. This hotel pops up in searches for Fort Lauderdale, but it's about a 20 - 30 minute Uber ride (to/from the airport) and not necessarily FLL, but I liked the quiet location. Blink, and you will miss this hotel. There's minimal street signage and none that stood out when we arrived around 10:30 pm. There's also no visible entrance, and when we first got there, we weren't sure we were in the right location. Upon walking inside, there wasn't anybody at the front desk, and we were even more confused, but someone came out of the back door to check us in, and she was very sweet. After going up the elevator and walking outside again, I was surprised to discover motel-like setup. It didn't look this way from the photos but wasn't an issue. The room was nice. It was recently updated and done pretty well. I liked the beach decor, the full kitchen and large bathroom. I didn't like having two queen (maybe full) beds and would have preferred a king. Regardless, the beds were super comfortable. The bathroom was large and included a washer/dryer. I would have loved to do wash, but couldn't find detergent. The shower was updated, but as we discovered it took a very long time to drain. The water temp and pressure were perfect. The only issue was with the toilet, and two people couldn't go to the bathroom in a row or it wouldn't flush the second time. Ok, fine. The tv was a decent size, but the remote didn't work, so every time we wanted to turn it off we had to unplug it, and we couldn't get the volume to work. The room size was large and would have easily accommodated a family of four without any problems. The temp of the room was perfect and easily adjustable, which made me very happy. There was a height difference between the room and the balcony - you've been warned. The balcony was so narrow, and you could only see the beach from one chair and if you tilted your head just enough. The size and view were disappointing because I dreamed of enjoying coffee and relaxing with my feet up, but there wasn't enough room to do so. I typically don't have housekeeping come in my room so I can earn extra points. This was even pointed out when I checked in on the app. Since we spent a good deal of the trip at the beach, I might have had them come in one day to remove the sand, but I wanted points. Spoiler alert, this hotel doesn't participate in this program (despite what the app said), so there were no points to be earned. Their complimentary breakfast was delicious and offered a good daily variety. One day I had a waffle, another I made myself an egg and cheese wrap. They always had fresh fruit, oatmeal, yogurt, coffee and more. The pool looks perfect and could have been. However, there aren't too many lounge chairs and a good deal of trees create a lot of shade. It's odd that this pool backups to the beach but there isn't a view of the beautiful ocean. A huge miss here on an even more breathtaking view here. The pool has a lot of nice seating where you can be in the water but still easily read a book, etc. I loved this. I adored the pool until ... the lizards/iguanas came out to play. The pool is infested with these creatures. I learned on this trip that I have an unnatural fear of them. Remember the only goal of this trip was to help me relax. The creatures come out around 11 am and there's at least 4 - 8 on the property at any time. They are quite a decent size, and the hotel needs to do something about it. If they can't get rid of them, they need to post about them. There were people feeding them and antagonizing them with a stick. Less scary, but just as bad were the ants at the pool and outdoor bar. They were endless, and while annoying, they didn't bother me like the lizards. Here's the thing with the lizards, I spent almost an entire day at the bar next door right by their pool and there wasn't one single creature to be seen the entire time. The hotel is directly next door; if they can figure it out, the Residence Inn should too. The beach is lovely but the path to get there is overgrown and easy to miss. Please make this path larger and more noticeable. This should be a simple/easy fix that would be so greatly appreciated. Also, watch your step, the lizards like it there. The hotel very nicely let us have a late checkout, which allowed me to relax a little more the last day. Bonus! Overall, three-star stars. 4.5 stars if they remove the lizards and ants.

Yelp
Stayed here from 16th until 20th December with my 3 kids. Not a very pleasant experience. COVID: Especially since I am coming from Europe, I fully understand & respect that we must adapt to covid, but this is just taking advantage. Cleanliness should be the number one priority and they are not providing housekeeping AT ALL. Not even towel change or trash collection. STAFF: The staff was a complete mess, communicating different information depending on whom you spoke to. Sometimes it was "housekeeping upon request", sometimes it was "not possible." Another said yes to extending my staff, but the next day it had not been noted to my reservation. I never felt like there was one clear line of communication from their team. OTHER: The breakfast was NOT very balanced, with way too many fats, like sausages & bacon; the pool towels were hidden away from the pool; their restaurant had slow service and the bartender/waiter wasn't always wearing his mask. He was friendly with clients, exchanging hugs and kissing with a couple (hmmm...?!?!). And for the cherry on top: I had to evacuate with my 3 children during the middle of the night (3am) because of a fire alarm. It had also happened earlier in the day, but didn't bother me as much since we were poolside. Instead, during the second one, the Staff was slow in providing us with information and did not help with the evacuation process in the least bit. I carried my 3rd child, followed by my 9 and 10 year olds, down 5 flights of stairs and arrived on the ground floor only to find the Exit door was blocked and impossible to push open with a baby in my hands. Thankfully, a kind couple helped me with the door. Staff was nowhere to be found! If my mother didn't live across the street I would never have stayed as long as I did. If you can, you should avoid this hotel. This experience was a mess!

Yelp
Just recently stayed here for four nights day. Thank you to all the front desk staff as well as Ramsey in the bar area. Being a titanium ambassador I was upgraded to a two bedroom suite .I was extremely happy and pleased with the service that I received. A huge shout out to Gina and the front desk supervisor Jalicia. Everyone at the property really made me feel special for my birthday. While we are facing a nationwide crisis it feels good to be recognized. I will definitely return once Coronavirus is over. The bed was extremely comfortable everything was nice and clean to my liking my view was breathtaking waking up to the sun rising is unimaginable.

Yelp
Stayed one night after getting off cruise. The saving grace of the hotel was a hotel cleaner with blonde braids, wish I had gotten her name!!!!! I had asked for 11:30 check in but ended up getting there at 10:30 AM. Planned to enjoy pool while we waited. I was shocked that they did not have a place to store luggage!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The cleaner stepped in and said she would watch our luggage for us instead of me taking it to the pool. Later she came out to inform us that she found a place for our luggage, and again came out when our room was ready to let us know. She even took up our luggage for us!!!!!!! Later she was going around swapping out wet tools at pool for dry ones. She was a blessing!!!!!!!! The room.... at first appearance it was very large and comfortable. I turned on the air conditioning fan to ON so it would continually run for added sound, I don't like extreme quiet. Well, that was a bad idea. Was in bathroom for awhile and came out and was hit with a mildew smell. I'm wondering if it was coming from air conditioning filter perhaps?????? Eventually turned fan to auto. Smell got better but stayed in the air. Then.... at 1:00 AM was woken by loud sound. It sounded like someone was banging on a metal pipe. Went on and on.... I tried to open front door and was stopped by a lady (not hotel worker) telling me it was okay that sound was because cops were there and to go back in. I called downstairs, direct dial buttons didn't work so used 0, and was informed there was a small emergency and fire department was there. When questioned about the cops, it was confirmed they were there too. Didn't last much longer but did restart in the morning!!! I think there was something going on with room door next to us. Free breakfast was a treat and really good.

Yelp
This is a great location with many amenities - and it is ocean front! A colleague and I stayed here for a recent business trip and I couldn't have been happier. It was on a very quiet strip, which was perfect for us, although it was a bit isolated from the main strip. The breakfast offered was a standard Residence Inn offering, but it is substantial and very good and it included eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausages, fruit, breads, a yogurt bar, and a make your own waffle station The placement of the breakfast is a bit weird but they make it work. Just try to avoid the high crowd times. The pool area was very nice and the quick access to the beach was even better. It is a short walk to the lighthouse so be sure to check out out. The valet parking was very convenient and the rooms were very comfortable and very clean. The one drawback was the fitness room. It was very small with limited options. Beyond that, this is a very good option and I would definitely come back and next time, I'll bring the family since it was a very family friendly facility. That being said, I still cant get over how quiet and chill this place was - even at the height of the summer season. I am a Marriott Silver Elite member and this venue did not disappoint. The staff was pleasant and not overbearing and in your face. We did have an issue with billing, but they worked hard to remedy it quickly. All in all, a very good option!

Yelp
***Warning*** Pool supposedly closes at 9pm, if you are not out of pool area they will lock you in and the front desk girl Jaime Beard will just look at you and smile. Gate to access the beach also gets locked and you will be locked out on the beach. There are no signs that say "this gate locks at ??pm". Emergency exit doors are blocked and locked. So many safety hazards!! Bar closes at 9pm and they do run out of food and alcohol. Although the rooms are outdated they are clean and nice. Love the iguanas that hang out at the hotel.

Yelp
Rooms a very dated and photos are like an ugly guy/girl with filters on. You can tell they are trying to upgrade but doing a very poor job of it. Our suite had a hole in the wall, the towel and bathroom fixtures were falling out of the walls. Just horrible. Management had horrible customer service for ruining our stay when room got flooded and the sleeper sofas were horrible. Don't waste your time or money stay a few hundred feet away at the much nicer hotels to the south. All have same beach access and much nicer amenities. Worst customer service ever.

Yelp
I give it a 2 star because of the beautiful beach view from our room but that's it. Caesar who parked our SUV daily was great Jamie at the desk was sweet to us. Watered down drinks small glasses $12 at only restaurant and it was not much.. Evelyn at front desk rude Rude maids and lazy. They don't clean. Dust everywhere months old ......never cleaned our bathrooms in 16 days... Workers & maids use elevators with carts when guests are waiting. They went in front of us making us wait No info in room on hotel No vending machines Pets They say they are pet friendly but your pet is grounded to your room mainly. There is a thorny small weeded patch of grass to pee, that's it...They aren't allowed anywhere else including the beach. Marriott wouldn't give AAA or Senior or AARP discount after staying 16 days Would never use them again Definitely not up to the Marriott standards we knew. Overall this location is unprofessional and should not have the Marriott name on it.

Yelp
1st of all, I did not stay here. This review is around the service I received from the hotel and hotel's management. I am a Titanium Platinum member, for life. This means that I stay at Starwood and Marriott hotels way too much! My hotel reservation was given away. I was not notified beforehand either by email or by phone. When I arrived at the hotel, I was told, ". . .not my fault. It happened before I got here.". I was not offered any compensation for an Uber or taxi to another hotel. They did book a different hotel for me, however, this hotel was not on the beach and in an entirely different part of town. I called SPG corporate to complain and they opened a case. I learned that as a Titanium Platinum member, SPG hotels cannot give away your reservation. They are also liable for monetary compensation and additional points back in the balance. I was told that the GM would phone me the next day. The SPG corporate representative also told me that the front desk person was not apologetic in any way and just kept stating it was not her fault as well. The next day, I never received a call from the GM. I did learn much later that the Assistant GM did send an email. Never any follow-up when I did not respond. It arrived into my SPAM folder as it was sent from a generic address. When I stopped traveling, I finally got a chance to check on my case that I had opened with SPG corporate. They did not understand why it was still open after almost two weeks and called over to the hotel. The SPG representative got the assistant GM on the phone. When she got back on with me she did warn me that, ". . .he is not happy that he has to make this right with you. However, by the letter of the law, he has to. . .". Why would he not be happy? I did further investigation. This is not a "true" SPG hotel. It is managed by Claremont Corporation. My reservation was booked with points. My belief is that my reservation was given away due to the fact it was booked with points and I was not a "true" paying customer. When the Assistant GM did get on the phone with me he was rude and mocked me. Did he apologize? Yes, but in a mocking sort of way. "Am I sorry that you got booked at a nicer and more expensive hotel? Yes, I am SO SORRY". That was how the conversation went. If I had wanted to stay at that other hotel, I would have booked it. Things happen. Accidents happen. I have no issues with that. That's life. However, when the people who did it are rude and jerks then I do have issue with it. I will never look to stay at this hotel again. The Assistant GM should be let go as well. The corporate SPG staff went above and beyond to try and assist. Thank you for that.

Yelp
If you have not heard of Pompano Beach consider it for your next Florida vacation! This cozy beach location is clean and away from a lot of the loud hustle and bustle of Ft Lauderdale and A1A typical traffic. The beach itself is nice wide and clean! Marriott always does a great job and as a Gold Elite I appreciate their service and the consistency of their properties. This hotel had a nice size pool area with lounge chairs beach towels and a path down to the ocean. Our room did not have all of the things we Requested at first but they staff went over and beyond with getting us what we needed and then some. They gave us this nice little snack basket without asking as a way to make up for it!!! THANK YOU! The free breakfast is wonderful with just about everything you could want! Very friendly staff. Our room was clean and modern with a full refrigerator and large bathroom even free in room laundry machines! Very nice!

Yelp
The oceanfront rooms are amazing! So spacious with panoramic ocean views from all rooms. The service is excellent and the hospitality is always warm. Jason Stern, the Guest Services Manager, is quick to assist guests and is always seen helping others. The location is perfect to walk/run to the Pompano pier. Also, the air conditioning works great and keeps the room cold. The complimentary hot and cold breakfast is wonderful with a wide assortment of items. We'll be back!

Yelp
My room had a stove with two burners, microwave, stove, dishwasher, & fully equipped laundry room with iron/washer/dryer...my room had views of the ocean from my bed and small balcony.  My stay was not perfect but sometimes it's about the recovery for the unforseen. ** I wanted to write this because I was very touched by the personalized service provided by Joey at the Front Desk. Joey went above and beyond to make my stay special which meant the world to this workaholic who hadn't taken a vacation in 5 years... & especially when unplanned disturbances occurred. Jason Stern also tended to details to maximize satisfaction. The Residence Inn is lucky to have them both. Professional and they get hospitality because not all employees  get hospitality... (ie. Low point: My experience with night auditor Joseph and Jalicia was not positive. Joseph was not very friendly when called for questions. Jalicia neglected & did not resolve a noise disturbance that took place for an excessive amount of time causing me much distress. I wish she would've put herself in my shoes but she seemed desensitized to care.) More positives: The valet Supervisor and employees were excellent and made themselves available for anything needed with nice dispositions - great attitudes. The breakfast offered was nice  and comprehensive-also had gluten free items.  Sushi By Bou experience: The onsite restaurant was excellent from cocktails to food to the view. It was amazing and service matched. Shout out to Sasha (my server) and Anthony (bartender) who were so incredibly sweet  talented and caring...Sasha made sure that I got fed after last call for food and I couldn't have been more grateful for her & her manager who took care of me. You have some stars working for you: Joey, Jason, Sasha, Anthony, Valet team, Pool station attendant (so nice!!), and helpful breakfast attendant who minimized contamination by personally serving in the station in the morning. You all made a big difference for me. Thank you for the positive memories

Yelp
My 5 days 4 night stay at this resort was wonderful! All of the staff were accommodating and very attentive to all our needs. The rooms are so big with a washer and Dyer!! The balconies were so enjoyable as well. The restaurant located near the pool was also soooo good. The fish probably was the freshest. The valet parking was great too but I just didn't enjoy the high price . Access to beach was awesome. I'd come back!

Sandy C.

Yelp
Our stay at the resort was amazing. This was for a business trip that i decided to bring my child along. There is an enclosed beach that was safe for my child to play in the sand. Breakfast was complimentary. Great stay!

Yelp
I am premier platinum with Marriott and have never encountered the magical and enchanting feel like I did here. When I first walked in, there was a true gentleman taking a call from a very angry guest over a perceived injustice. I've been in customer service for many years, and appreciated watching Ryan take care of his client with professionalism, courtesy and class. My stay was made amazing by Ryan and all staff at the front as well as valet. I can't wait to come back!

Yelp
I stayed there on my way back from a spearfishing trip I'm the Bahamas The service was amazing! I had brought fish and lobster back and much to my delight there was a full size refrigerator freezer in the the room which made the cold chain management easy. Even when it stopped working on the last day, they quickly replaced it. From Jessie at front desk, to Christian, Carlos, Dennis and Pat service was excellent! Big shout out to Bridgette in the complimentary breakfast station from Jersey! She had an amazingly positive attitude which reached thru to each person she came in contact with!

Yelp
The hotel and the stay is nice. They do charge $20 not included in the fee for the room paid online. It's $32 for overnight valet and we waited about 15 minutes to get our car so I didn't tip what I was going to tip. They brought the people after us their car first and as we were packing our car a family came out and waited less than a minute to get their car like it was parked right in the front. My advice is don't tip if you have to wait over 5 minutes it's already $32 plus 2.24 tax and they have a hidden wifi fee of 4.95 and .35 cent tax.

Yelp
I am a Marriott Titanium Elite lifetime member. I have been staying at a Marriott for literally one year of my life... maybe two years. Just an enormous amount of time. This location is not safe. The manager, Jason Stern, has no concern for his customers safety or their belongings safety. we had two bikes stolen (chain cut with bolt cutters) from a location behind the hotel, in the hotels courtyard, visible only to hotel employees. Jason could care less. The front desk lady, Jessica, called and immediately filed a police report for us (I guess they have the police on speed dial) but Jason showed no interest in showing up for a theft at his hotel. The hotel also could not come up with the video from the cameras until I called Marriott corporate and insisted he do his job. Jason also hightailed it up the elevator as opposed to talking to the officers. The case # on this is 11-2304-8509 with the Broward county police department. Zero concern from this Marriott with the fact that their customers were robbed at their location. Guess it is a common occurrence. we also had to ask for towels 3 or 4 times and coffee 3 or 4 times and they didn't clean the room after being asked multiple times. that is in the noise. It is very clear one of Jason's employees was responsible for the bike theft and he could care less.

Yelp
I always try to stay at some sort of Marriott because then I know what to expect. This property did not disappoint. The location is fabulous; right on the beach, easy access to Causeway, and view of the Lighthouse. Our suite was clean, huge, and had great ocean views. The beds were comfortable and the layout of the suite was perfect for our needs. Mmm, loved the breakfast buffet - bacon! The staff were friendly. Stu, the manager, was on-site and very professional and helpful. John, at the front desk, was efficient (that's a big compliment.). The valet guys were pleasant and helpful. One last thing- I felt very safe there. I came back to the hotel alone around midnight and was comfortable doing so. Safety and cleanliness are the two most important things to me and I was pleased with both of those. Definitely would return.

Yelp
Checked in, fire alarm went off at 1130, they had no sign of it at the front desk and suggested I take it down and remove the battery. Noooope. I had them move me across the street to a far better place. I could go on about bad service and loud, obnoxious music in the lobby, but I think being asked to do something illegal because nobody is competent enough to figure out a real solution is bad enough.

Yelp
Just returned from an eight night stay. Let me tell you, if you want to be treated like a rockstar, this is your place. Jason Stern (manager) is state of the art and could easily lead the hospitality business managerial directives course on how to increase return customer base. We will definitely return and it's 100 percent based on the outstanding treatment we received. Any occasion we approached Jason to ask a question, we ended the conversation with a "wow, thank you so much". I witnessed him treat everyone this way and you don't have to go looking for him, he's always out front to greet you and offer help. Angelina at the front desk is as cute and sweet as they get and also very eager to make your day. One of the best things about vacation is leaving your room for a few hours and coming back to see it as clean as when you checked in. Romanise did not disappoint! Our room was very welcoming every day. If you can swing it, the two bedroom suites are to die for. You won't want to leave! Thank you all so much for making Cole (10 year old grandson) feel like he owned the place. The hotel is very clean inside and out. Washer/dryer in room is a huge bonus. The grounds are beautiful. We have not one complaint. So many other employees I didn't get names but could tell they're happy people and a pleasure to see daily. Jason is a huge asset to this hotel and I hope they realize it!
