"Take a seat on the splendid terrace with the Pyrenees in the distance and the Montagne Noire in the foreground and get ready to sample modern cuisine with traditional touches. The food highlights local produce, such as veal raised in Puylaurens, lightly seared and served rare with Veggie Wellington and a coffee-flavoured veal gravy. Lovely guestrooms to prolong your stay in style." - Michelin Inspector

"This corner of Occitanie is sometimes referred to as “little Tuscany,” and it’s not hard to see the resemblance at Cap de Castel, a trio of historic buildings that happen to be set within the walls of a 13th-century Cathar castle, with a view over the medieval town of Puylaurens. Its eleven rooms vary in size as well as in their individual character, but as a rule blend an antique richness and a contemporary sensibility. The hotel’s little pool is a delight, and the restaurant’s seasonal menu is served on the terrace during the summer months." - Tablet Hotels

Very cute and cozy hotel. Our room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. David was also extremely nice and helpful. There are not a lot of places to visit or restaurants walking distance so a car is a must. The hotel restaurant was highly recommended by everyone in town, but sadly we didn’t get a chance to try it as we were there for a wedding and had dinner events every night.

We live in this wonderful area and always enjoy coming back to Cap de Castel, knowing we will never be disappointed. Thank you for creating such a beautiful place and for the delicious, refined cuisine - every visit is a real treat. It's definitely a place we can recommend without hestiation! As for the rooms, we havent't had the chance to stay overnight yet - but we imagine they'd deserve 5 stars as well. Thank you and see you again very soon. Viola

We discovered this hotel via the Guide MICHELIN and were eager to experience it. Our host, David, warmly greeted us and led us to our traditional-style room, which boasted a stunning mountain view. We spent the afternoon unwinding by the lovely pool with a glass of wine. Dinner was a gastronomic adventure on the terrace, featuring regional dishes presented in a breathtaking setting. The menu showcased not only local flavors but also influences from the chef's global experience. Highly recommended if you're in the area.

The hotel and restaurant are a gem! The room was very clean, comfortable and well thought out. |The restaurant was just excellent. The food and wine were perfect and at a gastronomic level of presentation and taste, while being generous and above all served with attention and humour. |It was a delight to get to know the owners. |We will be back soon.

This gorgeous hotel in Puylaurens was a real highlight of our month in France. The terrace, pool and restaurant area with great views across the valley was really picturesque and a nice spot to kick back and relax. Since the hotel does not have a lot of rooms it isn’t crowded and bar service here was a plus. Enjoyed the restaurant very much, lovely ambience at night and excellent food. We had chamber neuf and no complaints here either. Oversized, beautiful ceilings, a sense of history mixed with modern lux. The best part of staying here was the warm welcome from our host David Henri. We felt like we had come home and we were very well looked after.... just perfect.

We booked this place at the last minute after having to cancel a villa holiday our friends from the UK couldn't get to because of the travel restrictions. The reason we booked it was because of the pool (which we were going to have with our villa booking). We couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised! The view from the terrace, indoor restaurant and the pool is incredible. The food was delicious with options to suit vegetarian/vegan requirements and the portions at breakfast and dinner left us full. If you're a spirits fan, you'll be pleased to see that the restaurant has carefully selected the spirits on their menu. No margin making by serving average spirits, instead you'll find brand like Gin Mare, the Botanist or Aberlour on the menu. But by far the best thing about this hotel is the service - and service doesn't really describe it well enough. All the staff were exceptional in their attention to us and were very approachable. We really felt at home during our stay and we'd happily stay there again!
