"This chic and rather stylish restaurant is an interesting option. The food is dubbed "open-minded cuisine": modern dishes that combine the techniques and flavours of Japanese and Korean cuisine in a variety of ways – for example, street food influences make their presence felt. There is also a creative vegetarian version of the set menu. Tip: As an alternative to wine, they propose a beautifully curated cold Asian tea pairing – a real treat for all those who like to go alcohol-free." - Michelin Inspector

I’m so impressed by the attention to detail in both the food and beverages, as well as the chef’s technique. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire dinner experience. Since I don’t eat beef, I had the vegetarian main course — and I’m usually underwhelmed by those. But this one was flavorful, complex, and truly satisfying. The Bao was especially impressive, particularly coming from European chefs. It’s absolutely worth the price for the creativity, refined flavors, welcoming atmosphere, and outstanding service.

Really good ambience with the dark decor and mood lighting. The service is attentive and the pace at which each course is brought out is very good. Most of the dishes we had were really nice- some combinations blew our mind (who knew cumin chips would go so well with blue cheese sauce!!). And the palate cleanser with the sesame seeds- yummmmm! The highlight of the meal for me (someone who loves non-veg) was the dish with a radish flower, Korean rice cakes and a heavenly asparagus consommé!! The wine pairing was exceptional (except for the organic rosé which wasn’t for me- just a personal choice).

Dae Mon is a very special restaurant in the Hackerscher Markt in Berlin. The food concept is super elevated asian street food in a fine dining setting. They offer a set menu (vegetarian also available) that they describe as “open minded food” - and some of the food (and wine) pairings are unorthodox - so be prepared for a journey. It is worth a trip to taste something completely different (in a good sense).

Visited Dae Mon as part of a friend’s birthday celebration. The menu was fantastic, beautifully presented and delicious dishes. Whilst some of them were a bit too sweet for me (personal taste rather than something being wrong with the ingredients), the variety of textures and combinations was really creative. Great value for money to experience fine cuisine at the heart of Berlin. Service is immaculate and all staff are very knowledgeable about the menu.

Google
Really excellent Asian inspired food in modern setting. Service a bit rushed and not the best but understandable as we booked the last spot at 2130, so it wasn't far off the kitchen closing. I would recommend maybe limiting reservations to 21:00 for people to actually get the full experience. We had a 6 course version of the 8 course tasting menu with two of the paired wines, a crémant to start and an espresso at the end of our meal. The food was all excellent. With the 6 courses the dessert we finished on was good but would have been better followed by the actual final strawberry dessert that we didn't get to chance to try. The appetisers / amuse bouche we're brilliant. There is a focus on mushrooms on the menu which we really enjoyed and is done well. Sea bass was very high quality and the dash with it had great flavour. The following courses were all excellent, although for me personally the mushroom French toast course's yuzu miso sauce was a little overpowering for the other flavours to come through. Octopus course was great, but they sent out the takoyaki very hot (and warned us) but again we were there at the end of the night so understand a bit of a rush on our food. The beef course was incredible. Perfect texture and temperature of the beef with accompanying sauces. Curd/courgette flower deep fry was nice but also a bit too hot with a rush on our meal. The dessert we had, soybean based with a meringue was nice but missing a fresh element to finish on as we had our final course dropped with the late service. They also served an umeboshi and caramel filled chocolate at the end, like petit fours. Great combo of flavours. Espresso was also great quality coffee. Decent value for money when considering fine dining in Berlin. Expensive essentially. We paid €330 between 2. Water is charged at €5 a head. €330 covered water, 5 glasses of different wine (€8-13 a glass), and two 6-course tasting menus (€118 each). The 8-course is €138 per person with €10 off for any course you don't want. I would say 6 courses is enough to be full, for balance of the menu and value all 8 courses would be the best deal. Worth it if you're able to get there for 2100 at the latest. They probably shouldn't offer a 2130 seating if they only serve a tasting menu, or should certainly have a disclaimer when booking, about the number of courses and service may be affected. Food was really well done overall. Nice modern setting, well lit by tables but still feels pretty cosy. Service is polite.

Went for our anniversary dinner and had a spectacular experience. Each course was flawlessly executed, unique, and bursting with flavors. The dishes were distinct yet cohesive, never repetitive. The tea pairing deserves a special mention, thoughtful and wonderfully complementing the meal. One of the best meals of my life, better than some Michelin-starred spots I’ve been to. Thoroughly impressed.

Google
The food was excellent and the service was very good. The staff is polite and also mindful of the guest’s tastes. I ordered a wine pairing but the server sensed that the paired wines were not my taste. He then got me a wine I liked and charged me only for the wines I drank, removing the total wine pairing cost. What would make this place an even nicer experience is better and polished cutlery and more defined artwork in decor. At that price, even the little details matter. I really liked the food. The portions were just perfect for a 9-course meal and even the items that I don’t usually like - beetroot for example - were used in a way that tasted good.

Yelp
Service was excellent. Food was delicious and wasn't too salty like most food in Germany. You could taste a lot more of the ingredients more instead of just salt. Dae-Won's open kitchen was also nice to watch. The Herb Salad was fresh and tasty. The Root Vegetables were also delicious. The King Crab was tasty and came with breaded oysters which were great. The blue fin tuna sashimi was extremely high quality. It was served with fresh wasabi grinded right at the table. The Galbi was fall off the bone tender and the pork belly was also tasty. The Chili-Chocolate Mousse was tasty and not too heavy after a big meal.

Yelp
One of the most fantastic experiences I had abroad. Both the chefs and the servers put such care into the dishes, and it is a fantastic output. Creative flavors come together in an 8 course meal + amouse bouche amd other delicacies. I cant wait to go back on my next visit. The wine pairing is also great, though i preferred to go by the glass, as I do not need 8 separate glasses of wine in one dinner

Yelp
A swanky Berlin Asia fusion prix fix with incredible array of flavors, highly creative with centerpiece of wagyu (the German cows are less fatty) but still melt in your mouth. Be prepared for a 3.5 hour meal experience, great find on this Berlin journey.

Yelp
Didn't expected this. It was amazing. Wellmade fusion korean dishes based on korean cusine factors and I gradients. We ordered vegi course and yachae, galbi, bingsu, ginGer something and dakgogi. Except biBimmyun(was too oily.), everything was good. Compare with other korean restaurants of course much more expensive but I like really restaurant concept and design. And service too.

Yelp
Top shelf ingredients with creative touches to Korean cuisine. The gambari(sp?) nori and rice constellation is very nice: picked vegetables, delicious slices of omelet, a bean-rice sashimi decorated with nasturtiums. Carabinieri: The oysters breaded in crushed seaweed are amazing. They fill the oyster shells with a seaweed salad, light and refreshing. The pork belly with fresh beans was also fantastic - the most scrumptious, melt in your mouth pork belly covered in a BBQ sauce. We also had the danchen pickled vegetable small plates that usually come first at a real Korean restaurant - here they're 9€. Very good though: tiny dried fish with a hint of sweetness, soybeans and kimchi - obligatory, all made in house. The decor is beautiful, very modern with Asian influences. The service is particularly professional, attentive and friendly - wow! -an extra star!! We had an excellent spätburgunder from Franken, not what you expect in an Korean restaurant but this is Mitte after all. If you want to watch the chefs at work come with a larger group and sit next to the open kitchen in the back. Otherwise it's cosy in the front. Definitely recommendable - many small details make for an excellent experience. Not cheap but worth it.

Yelp
Surprising food. From starter to dessert, I discovered tastes I didn't know. The octopus with black quinoa is something I would recommend. And they also offer a good wine selection. The dessert wasn't too sweet like you usually get in restaurants and was a perfect finish. We had a great time there.

Yelp
Food was fine. As menus were being handed out I mentioned to my dinner mates why don't we get some bubbly. Server returned, tried to order sparkling wine at 45 euro. Server had come out with a bottle in hand. He said it was his recommendation. I asked again for the 45 euro bottle, server told me they were sold out and pointed to another that was 65 euro instead. At this point we had been talking for much too long at the table, I just told him to pour the bottle he had in his hand after he suggested it again. Check came, bottle was the most expensive on the menu at 145 euro. Totally unscrupulous, stay away.

Yelp
Expensive but very good food. Takes aprox. 1 h between courses... So be prepared to spend some time waiting.

Yelp
The food was really tasty but when I ordered a glass of wine it was marginally larger than the taste I received.

Yelp
Amazing food, presentation and service. Book a table near the open kitchen, sit back and watch magic happen!

Yelp
Great Asian food, and friendly service. We were a party of four, and all the food was exceptional, except the seafood soup starter, which was a bit tasteless. The tuna avocado, and the mushroom starters both made us want to lick our plates. The pork cheek was the favorite main course, melt-in-your-mouth tender! Would absolutely go back here.

Yelp
Pretentious, expensive, extremely slow service, and NOT tasty - Hoping to doing something more interesting than the touristy restaurants around Hackesher and Alexanderplatz, we were excited to have came across this well-reviewed asian-fusion restaurant. Unfortunately our experience was very disappointing. While all the tables have "reserved" signs on them, at no point was the restaurant very busy (we were there on a Saturday around 7pm). Given the price range we expected something creative or refined. Not the case, the three courses we had were all underwhelming to downright unappealing. The main course, cabbage roll, managed to combine the worst elements of western and asian cuisines. The service was also extremely slow, huge gap between courses with virtually no attention from the wait staff. When asked how we enjoyed our food, we gave a polite but less than enthusiastic response. The server responded, "well, we serve European influence Asian food, so it may not be your taste if you expect Asian food." The manager did apologized when she brought the bill, but did nothing beyond. Overall, a bad dining experience.
