"In the wake of his mentor Paul Bocuse, Christian Têtedoie has built a small gourmet empire. Perched on Fourvière hill overlooking the city, the Têtedoie is a gourmet showcase. A champion of Gallic culinary traditions, this fan of contemporary art is committed to finetuning and even modernising this heritage. Bites of snails, foie gras and pistachio; “portfolio” of red mullet, carrots and game sauce; mallard duck, grilled chestnuts and Jack Be Little pumpkins: his dishes sometimes read like an abstract art exhibition. It’s the unshowy kind of fine dining where you’re equally welcome in jeans and sneakers as a pants suit. Set lunch and dinner menus have courses like pike quenelles in green crab and ginger bisque, candied duckling leg, or risotto with Pastis-flambéed prawns. Best of all is their liberal approach to sauce—after your cod ballotine gets doused, it’s left on the table so those who wish to fish for their own lunch in molten butter are welcome to do so. We celebrated my husband's birthday at this Michelin-starred restaurant, expecting an exceptional dining experience. Unfortunately, the food fell short of our expectations. While the presentation was visually stunning, it seemed the chef prioritized aesthetics over flavor. We encountered strange flavor combinations, dishes that were under-seasoned, and a lack of texture and depth that left us disappointed. On a positive note, the staff were attentive and friendly, which added a nice touch to our experience. However, the food did not align with what we anticipated from a Michelin-starred establishment. We opted for the four-course menu, and I’m thankful we didn’t choose the six courses, as we would have struggled to finish. Additionally, the ambiance could use improvement; the lighting was overly bright, and the artwork felt out of place. Overall, we were not satisfied with our experience, and I regret choosing this restaurant for such a special occasion.

Very disappointing. As for Michelin star restaurant we expected way more. Food is okay, but just mediocre, nothing special - especially comparing to other restaurants around (like Prairial - no comparison). Atmosphere is crowded, overwhelming, feels like very commercial place. No intimacy. It’s loud - talking from other tables resonates as well as the cutlery sound. Music is somewhere in background - silent and random. Place is probably understaffed. Water was refilled after 2h. Sommelier did not notice empty wine glass, did not offer anything. He came after calling that glass is empty. Generally - in our opinion they lost their uniqueness and cater to quantity, complete loss of quality.

Where the price matches the quality of the food. Have not been able to experience a Michelin star dining since it takes months in advance to reserve where we live (Tampa Florida). Lyon is the gastronomy capital because it has so much culinary talent as this restaurant attests to. The lobster and calf head is their signature dish and it was perfect! The foie gras starter did not disappoint. The chicken dish was rather bland. The blueberry dessert was the perfect end to an extraordinary meal! Kudos to the chef!

We had 2 6-course and 2 4-course menus with accompanying wine options. All great! Really an experience and fully worth it. The service personnel seemed understaffed and was struggling a bit. Being late for wine orders, not filling water glasses when empty, bringing out a course when not everybody was at the table, putting the amuse-bouche oysters right in front of the person who indicated that they don't like raw food, all small issues, but indicating stress.

The view at this restaurant was stunning. I recommend arriving a bit before sunset, as the golden hour offers an amazing experience. The food met my expectations for a one Michelin star establishment; however, I found that six dishes were too much for me, as the portions were quite large. Our wine connoisseur provided attentive service, but the quality of service from other staff varied. For instance, they dropped bread on the table and placed some on my plate (which was fine), but they didn’t clean up the crumbs afterward.

I ordered the 4 course lunch off the menu, with an accompanied glass of red wine. To start with. ... Their location looks down on the city from the west side with spectacular views. The restaurant is nicely decorated and very clean. The waiters were very attentive and good at explaining each dish as it came out. All the dishes were beautifully presented and all were tasty. Service was excellent! It was something that I'm glad I tried. But not really my cup of tea. I don't mind paying a high price for food that knocks my socks off. But I'm not one that requires my food to look like a masterpiece. If you are looking for a beautiful view and beautiful food. This is your place!

The restaurant has an amazing view. The food is very well presented and the service is perfect. There is an affordable menu of the day if you do not have any dietary restrictions. If you are a vegetarian or have dietary restrictions prepare to pay double the price. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.
