We decided to treat ourselves to a special evening at Krug—and what unfolded was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we stepped through the door to the final farewell, the entire experience felt intentional, intimate, and profoundly memorable. It becomes immediately clear why this restaurant has earned a Michelin star so quickly; excellence isn’t just an aspiration here—it’s their baseline.
My husband and I have been fortunate enough to dine at remarkable restaurants all over the world, yet Krug now stands among the absolute best meals we have ever had. The kitchen is the beating heart of the restaurant—beautifully open, alive with creativity, and mesmerizing to watch. You don’t just taste the chef’s artistry; you witness it being born right in front of you.
From Marie, the warm and attentive maître d’, to Jure, the exceptionally knowledgeable sommelier, to Chef Carlo and every member of the team, the hospitality felt both effortless and deeply personal. They create not just a dinner, but an experience—one so cohesive and thoughtful that it lingers long after the last bite.
Each course was a revelation. Every bite carried layers of flavor and texture that unfolded like chapters in a story—unexpected, imaginative, and unforgettable. It’s rare to encounter food that feels both technically brilliant and emotionally moving, yet Krug manages this with grace.
And somehow, despite the world-class execution and artistry, the pricing is astonishingly reasonable. For what you receive, it feels almost unreal.
If you find yourself in Split, do not let this experience pass you by. You will thank us later—truly. Be sure to reserve ahead, as they serve only twelve guests per evening, making each service feel exclusive in all the right ways.
To the entire Krug team: thank you for an evening we will never forget. We will be back, again and again.
